Apologies for earlier rating!!! I confused it with another Bill Miller's in SA! Bussers there failed to wipe down salt shakers and sides of table. Hondo Bill Miller's visit was G-R-E-A-T!!

Brisket Po-boy Sandwich is the bomb. I get mine marbled with extra sauce on the side. The meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. The Sweet Tea is always on point!

I took my parents to see our family in Hondo Texas and when we go, we always stop somewhere in Hondo to pick up lunch for the family. We ordered A LOT of food. The food was cooked fresh and they brought it out to our vehicle!! They are friendly and courteous! We will be picking up from Bill Miller every single time we go to Hondo, from now on!!! I can not stress how awesome they are!!

Their smoked turkey is tastes really good. I got that on their garden salad with light ranch dressing. It was extremely good. I will definitely be getting that again. I also recommend, and I only tried this because someone else told me about it, their bean and cheese tacos with brisket added onto it. Talk about delicious! 🤤 Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! And if you haven’t tried their fried chicken sandwich yet, you really don’t know what you’re missing…seriously, try it at least once. I promise you, you will enjoy it. ✌️

Recommended. Good all around. Green beans may be the best I’ve had. Brisket was good and not fatty as I asked for. Their sauce isn’t my favorite as I prefer a “heavier” flavored sauce but is good. Service friendly and excellent. Prices quite reasonable for bbq.

Really when out of their way to get us the food they made a mistake on. Their parking lot is always clean and even as far to double check we had everything. He even said we reminded him of some family and smiled the whole time and even thanked us like WE SHOUKD BE THANKING YOU love that dude he made my whole day

Was on my way to Uvalde stopped in this Bill Miller and had a regular plate and it was very delicious as always.

I always had this belief that Bill Miller's was low budget BBQ. But, after grabbing a quick lunch at the Bill Miller's in Hondo, my opinion has changed. I requested lean brisket, and that's what they served. It was perfect. A little charred at the edges just how I like it and full of flavor. The next time I'm passing through Hondo, I'm stopping at Bill Miller's for more of that delicious brisket.

Got a Chicken wing with no salt on the fries, and an unsweet refill. They got the order correct and everything was hot and good. The tea was excellent. Love Bill Miller!!!! Did use the drive thru instead of going in.

This is my favorite Bill Miller's, period. The people who work here are so friendly and helpful, in addition to the consistently delicious food, it just makes for a great all-around experience. Plus, there's just something about going to Bill's in a small town. Thanks to Liz and the whole staff here for a holiday weekend lunch that was even much better than expected, partly because of the personal touch from you and your staff. Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Ordered a Wranglers plate. The turkey was tender and juicy. The potato salad and beans were as fresh can be. Sausage link was juicy and tasty. Great job to the staff. Restrooms were clean and so was the dining area.

Was in town for 4 days with friends and we ate here for 2 nights. The staff are so nice, friendly, and patient. They are also good at getting our orders correct and done in a fashionable manner.

The staff was pleasant, patient, professional, and helpful. The lady behind the counter offered to delay filling our extra take out order until we had finished our dine in meals so it would be as fresh and hot for the ones at home.

We get their BBQ sandwiches often. Lots of 🍖. Their breakfast tacos are great too. I rated service at 3 stars. The window girl usually forgets things like ketchup, napkins, hot sauce for tacos. This shouldn't be a hard thing to remember but in todays world I guess we should be happy that we haven't gone full communist. UPDATE. We are going on a pretty good string of visits and the window girl is batting 1000 at forgetting things like napkins, hot sauce and ketchup.

The lady repeated the order so we thought okay MAYBE PRICE went up on chop buns, asked for print out she charged ME ALMOST $5 for 2 bbq sauces. She "REFUNDED" THE BBQ SAUCE PRICES but nothing showing on my acct I'll wait 10 business days. -(*)When we got home 20 min drive ...... not ONLY where we Disappointed in the SMALL spoon of filling in the sandwiches. When I go to the bag with the pickles and onions INSTEAD of STACKING THE CONTAINERS because they have onion and pickle vinegar juice. They put ALL the containers SIDEWAY so the entire Bag of sandwiches EVERYTHING GOT ALL this liquid everywhere including my Pj's and floor. I was so upset we didn't eat I just threw it out side for dogs. Which where very pleased . Pretty good for chain barbecue the green beans are excellent.. The fried chicken's good it's consistent you know what you get when you go there. And it's also pretty reasonable on pricing.

Potato salad delicious and the Brisket very moist and tender. Mac and cheese kinda dry. Coleslaw was good . Chicken ok but the skin kinda dry. But I would come back..

I love the breakfast and yall have great tea! …Most places it tastes and looks like dishwater…Yours is clear and taste like tea should! The one complaint I have is …why do you all put garlic in the refried beans…maybe most people do but wow do yall use alot! I dont think that garlic should be the dominant flavor …especially for breakfast 😬

Be wary when trying to order up to closing. Although they have posted that the restaurant closes at 9:00 pm, if you try to order in the drive through at 8:55, they will tell you that they are closed.

Been some time since I had eaten at Bill Miller's, service was excellent but portions were smaller and some of the fried chicken was not cooked as well as I like it.

Fast, good food. Poor drive-thru service - rushy, cut you off when ordering and typically mess up at least one thing on my order each visit. Check your food and drink before you drive away. Can't go wrong with the sausage and egg taco for breakfast but note if you get bacon and egg there will be hardly anything in it, total rip off! Brisket is fatty but has an okay flavor. If you're wanting a true good BBQ experience and aren't in need of a drive-thru go down the road to Heavy's.

Best Bill Miller's we have been to yet. We stop every time on our way through town. Their chopped sandwiches are always full of good meat and they normally add on the pickles and onions when we ask and they always put them in the bag when we forget to ask.

Bill Miller's always has good food and good choices. The taste was as good as I remember; but the only issue was the tempura in the restaurant. We were close to the back where the AC was pointing but still was cold.

Not a bad spot for a quick stop. BBQ is pretty average, but for a fast food place its ok.

Chicken was very dry and coleslaw was more vinegar then anything.

Small town atmosphere, not too busy , and fast friendly service. Place is decorated with a lot of old western decor and was very clean when we arrived. 3-5 min wait to order and about 10 min to get our food. Staff was quick on refills and condiments were full to use. Not to mention food was fresh off the grill and delicious.

I love their brisket plates always order with rice, beans and potato salad. Their sweet tea is awesome and if you're still hungry, I recommend their brownies or a slice of pie which is cheaper then I have seen anywhere else

Friendly and fast service. The portion sizes were nice. The ribs were good, I just didn’t think they were great. We did enjoy our meal and will visit again. I liked potato salad, it was tasty. The chicken was very good.

I look at this place as fast food bbq and not a sit up full meal restaurant. Friends have said that this Bill Miller is way better than the others. It was good for fast food. The other bill miller restaurants friends have told me to steer clear. This one was good for a meal as a good price. The service is fast. The prices are pretty descent. The people working there are nice. They didn’t know the difference between a mustard or mayo based potato salad. The food was good for a quick bbq place. The brisket was ok, not fantastic. It was a little dry, probably sitting around a bit or a little over cooked. We did get the lean but it was still a little dry compared with others we have tasted. The rub was ok, but again, not amazing taste... missing something. They could use a little kick in the rub and maybe some brown sugar or the like. The ribs were good. However, again missing a little something. They were well cooked. Didn’t knock my socks off though. Again they may be looking to play to many tastes for wider spread and not going to a lot of flavor. As far as aides, the potato salad was not great. Lacking robust taste. The cole slaw was very good. The bbq sauce was terrible; like canned tomato sauce mixed with some sugar and vinegar.... need to improve that. Overall, I would come back for a quick a relatively well priced meal.

Lately they have been making mistakes on my orders 🤦 I called and complained about my bean Taco's, I was told to go back and they would fix it 🤷 well I was not about to travel 15miles for 4 BC Taco's 🤦 when I came back into town I went by and placed an order and then I told the girl at drive-thru and showed her my pic! She asked for my receipt which I didn't have 🤷 Said her MANAGER TOLD HER TO TELL ME TO GO BACK WITH MY RECEIPT ☹️ THANKS MANAGEMENT 👍

The dining room was very cold. When we asked them to turn the ac up they refused. When we opened the windows to get some warmth we got nasty looks from the workers. The food was good but it got cold fast.

There's no service you actually have to ask for your food they give you the food is great but other than that I wouldn't come back now I know what it's like a lunch atmosphere like you're going to school

Conveniently located on Highway 90 on the eastbound side, easy to get in and out of if you use the intersection with the traffic light. Getting out and heading west might not be easy if you don't use the street with the traffic light. This is one of the newer style Bill Miller's BBQ joints and not one of the old ones built in the 70's and 80's. I'm not sure how old it is, but it is one of the designs with more of a rustic feeling like they have been building for the last 10 years or so. Taller, vaulted ceilings with a nice vibe inside. They weren’t very busy around noon time on a Saturday when I visited, but staff seemed very confused. There were only two people in front of us, but the staff seemed very confused on how to process the orders. It was really strange compared to other Bill Millers. For those of you not from the South Texas area, Bill Millers has good BBQ, but it’s not the best in the area. It’s a bit less expensive, a bit quicker and well worth the visit. They are A-Ok. They also have good fried chicken – they actually started off as a fried chicken stand decades ago before they became known for their BBQ. Traveling through Hondo so we stopped by for lunch. Bbq didn’t really have much flavor, bbq sauce was basically tomato paste no flavor, sausage was edible. Not what we expected. Staff was very friendly.

Ordered the turkey meat plate with green beans, potato salad and pinto beans. The turkey was just like eating deli lunch meat except no flavor. There was bbq sauce and other liquid swamping all the sides and meat. Not worth the money. Husband ordered the fried chicken and that was better. Certainly not authentic BBQ. Disappointing

Our experience is that we have been looking for a restaurant for breakfast. A traditional American breakfast. Eggs to order meat toast etc, perhaps sausage gravy and biscuits. But there's no difference here than 100 taco places within 5 miles. Perhaps it is a corporate choice but why be exactly the same as every other place? Perhaps they don't think there is a market. Maybe, but why not ask your customers? 🌮 Beans scrambled eggs etc.. That scene just gets boring day after day. If people want a change up they stay home. We came on a Sunday and there was a few people here. Most ate biscuits and bland white gravy. Don't you think they would order different if it was available? I do. They are not ordering taco.

The food taste great, hot and fresh all the time. They just tend to always forget to put one thing or another in the orders. If in drive thru check your order before you leave the parking lot.

So I paid cash at the register two different time and the manager shorted me my change. I thought it was an accident or just forgot. but 2nd time it happened confirmed that she is doing that on purpose. I know it was just pennies but now a days that what we have to live on. I guess her name is Abigail.

Its a country atmosphere. A life time ago, I would eat the chicken on a regular basis while in Austin. So We stopped in on a road trip. The woman with the exuberant amount of peacock feather tattoos that took our order was oddly fixated on use the word brownie "portions" and "we have portions here" and would not ring up brownie slices as the menu stated. Really odd behavior to be a stickler over semantics while working in the customer service and food service industry. The food itself was ok and the chicken seemed fresh.

This is my 2nd visit here. 1st time I had Chicken Fried Steak it was good. This time I had the loaded baked potato with brisket. There is not much to say about the potatoe, it was veru small and probably had been cooked for a while, the little bit of brisket wasnt edible. It was either chewy fat or hard left over dried out brisket. It was very dissapointing. Thank goodness it was only $5.14. I have eaten this at several other barbecue restaurants only to be left full and extremely satisfied with left overs for maybe a couple of dollars more. Hopefully this was a 1 time bad experience.

Don't come here on the way from Frio. Food is astonishingly bland, bbq sauce tastes like unseasoned tomato sauce, service was good but you can tell the workers are perpetually understaffed. Came here with girlfriend and she got sick on the ride home. Sweet tea is about on par but at a dollar a refill, it doesnt warrant a visit no matter how hungover you are.

Always something little they forget. Drives me nuts No im not going back for my sude of gravy u charged me $5 for. You ruin my $60 meal. And all you can offer is a value meal. Guess 1 out of 6 of us will be happy

SLOWWWWWWW .. bathroom was gross .. got there at 10 til 9 after working at our new property .. they were out of brisket .. no biggy .. ordered chicken .. waited over 20 minutes for our food and then the order was all wrong .. gave us all warm french fries with our luke warm chicken .. daughter nearly punctured her mouth with a very pointy 2 inch v shaped chicken bone in her chicken sandwich which had very little meat to begin with .. they were getting ready to close I get it, but if you aren't closed yet you really should take better care of your customers .. so disappointed 😞... JUST Ridiculous .. If you can't take care of customer because you are too busy closing BEFORE you close ... Change your closing times !!

My salad was rustier than the Titanic and the meat was drier than the Sahara. I do love that salad, but it's so small now; And for twice the price, it's just not worth it. I'd also like to note that the girl in the drive through sufferes from severe short term memory loss because I asked for pickle and onion and 5 seconds later I got none in my bag.

Chicken fried steak ! Size of a kids burger , surrounded with with pound of Crust ! Green beans were tomatoey, no roles with meals. Definitely not worth $11.00 plus ! Grandson had chopped beef sandwich. Tasted like meat out of can.

Salt bomb, major headache - from a TX chef passing through. We shared chopped beef sandwiches with fries, one piece of fried chicken, beans, fries, and peach cobbler. Chopped beef sandwiches are more like chopped fat with some meat bits thrown in and next to flavorless, verging on dry. Fries had been under a heat lamp for awhile or reheated for lunch from the previous day. Fried chicken, beans, and tea were good. Peach cobbler is okay, canned peaches with plenty of crust - could use some more sauce. The sliced vinegar(?) onions were SO salty, like someone accidentally dumped a whole container into the mix. My takeaway for the staff - FOR THE LOVE!! TASTE YOUR FOOD FOR QUALITY CONTROL AND CONSISTENCY. But mostly for the sake of your customers palates. Thank you. **ETA: Noon on a Thursday

The food was good but there wasn’t any condiments, pickles, onions, sauce or lines/lemons available. You had to ask for each item. The staff was working hard but they were run to death bringing food out to the customers. The tables were dirty as was most of the restaurant. One employee drops the rag he was using to clean tables and just picked it up and continued. The sanitizer spray wasn’t being used.

Ordered 2 tacos. My carne guisada taco was trash and dry. Looked like it had been there all morning. I Asked for salsa cashier there was some In bag pulled over to fix my taco NO salsa had to get off and ask for some again..smh. No napkins !Will never get tacos from here again. Bad experience.

Grim. Not being from Texas I didn't realize this was a 'fast' food chain. The pulled pork (I think) was ground to death and flavorless. There's more taste in McD's BBQ sauce. Cold drinks are served with so much ice there's barely any room for the Pepsi. At least the hash browns were good. Service was slow but friendly. It is mostly clean (mens washroom needed a deep clean), but the racks of boxes and supplies in the dining area added to the feeling of a chain on its last legs. UPDATE I asked the server if what I had was pulled pork, but even he wasn't sure. That says it all. I will say that the fried chocked looked good, but I was here for BBQ. Shocked that in the 21st century there's no wifi for guests. Texas should be ashamed to call this BBQ.

we had an event in Hondo on 01-11-2020. This morning we wanted to get some breakfast. All the Bill Millers in San Antonio Are awesome. Well we by passed Mc Donalds because we saw a Bill Millers. Big Mistake. The eggs were dry and burnt and cold. the most nasty tortillas I've ever had. did not eat them. Nor did my wife. The coffee was Luke warm. The potato's cold. So disappointed. would not return.

Went there Friday on my lunch brake, ordered the fish plate, I should of checked it but I didn't anyways I get to my house, open the bag all that was in there was fries. Don't know why I keep going back but this was the last time! I will never return every time I was missing something such a nice building, there should be a real restaurant there!!

Disappointed. Ordered 1pc chicken breast with cole slaw instead of fries but did not get a roll. Also asked for a bbq chop sandwich but had very little meat inside plus no pickles nor onion.

The poorest tacos ever purchased at the hondo location. They couldn’t find my order, I had a hot Sauce burst in the bag as I walked away from the counter, dried out sausage, the corn tortilla was dryer than a Texas summer, it had a teaspoon of egg, I’m am not exaggerating we measured it back work, total price paid $14.xx four tacos and two teas. Unbelievable.

They didn't give us there correct order. Husband's was right, mine wasn't. The bread was soggy. The shredded bbq chicken tasted watered down. Honestly, it was the worst I've ever had. I won't return.

I went to Bill Miller a couple of days ago and I left the other half of my burger in the fridge that I went to finish today. I bit into something hard and it was an ACRYLIC NAIL PAINTED YELLOW. I am disgusted, there’s no telling what kind of things the person wearing those nails touched. I have never had this happen to me and I can’t believe this happened at this location in particular.

The store needs new management, I placed my order and was told I would have to wait 15 min for dark meat...i agreed & after waiting Im given white meat, the tea was from yesterday & tasted bad, I had to asked for napkins, bbq sauce, ketchup...Its 2pm in the afternoon, common sense would tell you keep making chicken your lobby is nearly full....keep up with your restrooms. This is what happens when you dont stay in school. Dumb as F...

(I'm rewriting my review) I got some ribs this past Wednesday, They were kind of dry & got stuck in my throat. I couldn't drink or eat & had trouble swallowing. & had to go to the hospital in San Antonio. & I was there for 2 days before they finally unclogged my throat. 21.00 for the rodeo plate, out the window. Money I can't get back even though I wouldn't mind getting a refund. I know I can't. That's the sad part. The cook who cooks the meat doesn't know how to cook. I'm not coming back to this location. & would not recommend anyone to this location. The quality of the food isn't worth it. If I want ribs I can cook them myself. & I will make sure I get the tenderness & taste it deserves!

We dined in at the same time as a special needs school group and witnessed the manager Lee being extremely rude and berating a teacher for spilling a bit of a drink he had handed her. He made her clean it up all while the students and other customers looked on.

Service was not an issue. They were friendly. My issue is solely on the food. I ordered brisket, got about 4 thinly sliced pieces.The brisket tasted and had the texture as if it were microwaved. It had a smoke ring but definitely wasn't freshly smoked. It was tough and had no taste. Not at all worth $12.00. Maybe I caught them on a bad day and normally I don't post anything but it was worth letting people know.

First of all, tea tasted moldy, we were told to wait 15 min for fresh fried dark meat. I asked for a apple pie, did not get. We waited 20 min for the fried chicken and was given white meat. There was no display of pickles or onions or rolls or napkins. We had to ask for them because they did not offer with our meal. Will not go back to this Bill Millers.

Very rude customer service. We were ordering our food and the guy that was taking our order was having trouble hearing us about the questions we asked him about our order. We then instead waited to get to the window to make things a lot easier, and when we asked about our order, LETICIA R, told us that our order was already made and to next time specify what we wanted. First of all, she does not know why we waited to get to the window, and how unprofessional she was by slamming the window and talking rudely to us. This is unacceptable, get better employees, or at least give them some kind of reward or something to make her life a little less miserable!!!! LETICIA R was her name.

Use to come here often. Service is bad. Management is even worse especially at night. 30 minutes for some fried chicken. 20 minutes for green beans. I know its not fast food but if I was running out I would have someone on that. It was 5pm with 4 more hours before close. Im sure someone else is going to want chicken or green beans. It makes it worse because its the only one around in Hondo Texas.

This place really freaking sucks!! 9/10 the tea is disgustingly OLD. The chicken is dry, salads not fresh and soggy/wilty, old fries. The other day I came through the drive through and parked to check my order and I had to go back inside THREE FREAKING TIMES!!The entire staff just doesn't give a crap. I've stood at the counter for 5 minutes before being acknowledged sometimes even longer. They don't even look at you half the time. This generation they just care about who's dating who they don't care about customer service even the managers don't care. This location has been going downhill for the last five or so years it used to be so much better. Y'all need to learn from Castroville Maybe they can train you. And don't forget to pluck the feathers out of the freaking chicken!!!

Up until recently, the server would let you know if there was going to be a delay on any items. Today, I made my order at 1:00pm for 3 tacos and waited nearly 20 minutes to even get my food. I generally like eating here. The food is good and affordable. Bethany was the server during this visit, and she didn't bother telling me about any delay. After about 16 minutes, I went back to the front to see what was going on and waited for nearly 3 more minutes before anyone came to see what I needed. Maybe it was just the staff today. I don't normally have these issues. I hope that the employees either get the training they need or the assistance they need in the future.

Stopped in to get some food, greeting was mediocre at best. Especially for an empty restaurant. They were super stingy with bbq and gravy servings. We asked for extra and were given some. But then I got my brisket tacos and they had so little meat in them that I asked for a refund and gladly returned their tortillas.

If there was a zero number to select I would definitely use it. Service was horrible my husband and daughter waited 10 minutes for their food after being told it would take a few minutes. When I reached to the counter for a refill on my drink I was ignored the 2 ladies were too busy speaking with the 2 workers the cooks and their conversation was more important than assisting a customer. And the manager saw me from the kitchen and didn’t bother to ask if I needed help. I will never stop here again as I was driving through. And was not clean tables were not wiped.

Traveling from San Antonio to Del Rio to drop off my daughter. Stop a this Bill Miller’s and was very disappointed. Spent 30.00 on breakfast tacos, that was a joke. Compared to other Bill Millers this one is bad. Just take a look at the pictures and judge for yourself.

Ugh. Honestly the worst Bar BQ ever. Sliced brisket and sausage. The brisket was edible but the sausage was just gross looking and taste wise. Another in my party ordered ribs and wouldn’t finish them. How bad to ribs have to be to not be edible?
