OMG, let us take a moment and a half to praise the middle-eastern style stromboli here! SO GOOD -- beautiful, tender flatbread wrapped around a generous portion of what tasted like schwarma chicken and melty perfection! With fries, no less, and both spicy and garlic dipping sauces that came with the beautifully cooked pita. Husband loved his lamb kebabs and rice, though he said the babaganouj could have been a bit more tangy. Nice little place -- convenient to reach, helpful, friendly waitstaff, and neat, slightly chaotic decor that made us feel right at home. Definitely worth a look-see --- bring an appetite, portions are ample.
The best food you can find 👌 The prices are cheaper than everyone else compared to the quality The food portions are large and satisfying The service is fast and well organized Honestly, one of the best restaurants I’ve tried and I highly recommend it 👍
I was looking for some good lamb chops. I came across this place on Google. I placed it to go order over the phone. The lady who took my order was Nice. She informed me my food will be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived, my food was fresh. The plate came with lamb chops, rice and salad and a pita like bread. It was about $22. When I arrived home, I really enjoyed the lamb chops. They were seasoned and tender. The rice was really good and the salad was good, and the bread was so amazing. I definitely will be coming back. I’m glad I found this place.
Food is always fire!!! Bless the chef. Everyone is polite and amazing customer service. Family palestinian owned restaurant with a lot of pride. Please visit them. It is a hidden gem of middle eastern food. Mashawi is my favorite there too! Thanks for the greatest food!!
We were so lucky to find this place. My favorite places are a cozy, casual ambiance and family involvement in the kitchen, using their family secret recipes. It was a sunday afternoon, we were driving on Richmond and saw this place. We walked in, and a friendly face came and took us to the table. It was raining outside, which made us hungrier, and we started ordering our favorite dishes. I took a picture of the menu so you can prepare for your next trip. Our server, Mehmood, was very kind and a great listener. Since this was our first visit, he suggested a few things. He also recommended the mint lemonade, which was so good, and I thank him for his help. Food came very fast, but our bread was a little harder. I think it got cold and became harder. Other than rice, chicken, salad, and hummus were very delicious. We loved every bite and the hospitality of Mahmood. Please try this place. I plan to go to Houston again during the holidays, and love returning for food and drinks. Thanks
This Mediterranean spot serves up amazing food! The grilled meats were full of flavor, the rice was delicious, and the bread was warm and outstanding. The service was friendly and made us feel right at home. A great place for authentic Mediterranean flavors and genuine hospitality. Checkout my video with sound.
The best hummus in town! Get it with meat and you will be happy. Falafel is outstanding. You can’t go wrong with any of the kebabs. The marinade and charcoal flavor can’t be beat. Not much for atmosphere but who cares. That’s not what you’re here for. Pro tip: Get the mint lime fresh juice and thank me later.
This is the place you have been looking for. The best grilled food in Houston. Awesome waitstaff, and the owner is there cooking up your order to perfection. The Grilled Pomphret Fish was thoroughly cooked, seasoned, and still moist. My Grilled Quail were just what the doctor ordered. Yellow rice and salad rounds out the meal....so delicious even my 89 year old mother said so when she was eating leftover and she has many years experence to know what great food taste like. Oh, and don't forget a Meza for two...I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... Enjoy.

BEST fried chicken in Houston! The creamiest Hummus you've ever had! The lamb chops melt in your mouth! And Best of all, Ali, the owner & cook, is the sweetest guy you'll ever meet!

The young lady at the front was so nice and helpful. I order the lamb chops and a side of baba ganoush to go. Everything was flavored well however the lamb chops were SUPER TUFF! I will try them again, maybe my chops was a one off. My total was about $30.00
The food here is good, the service is a bit slow and off. The atmosphere is a bit down needs some attention and better customer service. They have an amazing charbroiled chicken and that’s why I have visited many times, but it’s always a headache to order online or call in the order. I don’t like eating there….
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4.5/5) We visited Al Aseel Grill & Cafe recently and ordered the chicken kebab and lamb kofta, both were absolutely delicious! The food quality was excellent, flavorful, and freshly prepared. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable, making it a great value overall. We would easily rate the food 5/5, but the environment brings the overall experience down slightly. The dining area could use some improvements in terms of atmosphere and decor—it’s functional but not very inviting, so we’d rate that part around 3.5/5. Still, we’ll definitely be back for the food. Highly recommended if you’re looking for tasty and affordable Middle Eastern cuisine in Houston!
We decided to give it a shot for Sunday lunch. We got in around 2 pm and the place was not very busy. We were promptly seated and handed menus. The food was good, I can tell it was cooked and not packed and microwaved. The meat platter was cooked correctly and had the right spices. The hummus tasted good as well as the baba ghannoug and Turkish salad. Overall the food was good, the restaurant just needs some tlc.
The service on my last visit here just some recent months ago was good and I've only ever been here a total of 3-4 times since first trying in 2017 I think. As usual, I purchased my go-to entree he…
I have changed my review from 5-stars down to 3-stars. There is a simple reason. About a month ago we had a full-grilled chicken (take out) and yesterday I had a half-grilled chicken inside. Both of these had the same problem: More than half the breast meat had been removed from the breast quarters before cooking. From my perspective, that is not an acceptable option and warrent a 1-star review. Even though the grilled chicken is excellent, these two experiences means you have lost my business. Previous review: We ordered the lamb kebab and the half grilled chicken. Both dishes were perfectly spiced and not salty. The cabbage salad and rice balanced both dishes nicely. The lamb was ordered medium and was cooked perfectly. The grilled chicken was some of the best I've eaten, and leftovers were finished the next day! Friendly service and nice atmosphere. We will be back.
I ordered falafel sandwich it comes cold not the fresh doesn't taste good and I asked them to have a fresh one they just warm the same sandwich and the one I took it to go they have to change it to the fresh one they warm it again and they give it back to me at least they need to say sorry we give you something extra I got five pieces fresh and I asked did you change the one for to go they said no just warm it up
Sad to see this place slowly go down in quality. They changed the naan recipe to whole wheat flour or something but it’s now super chewy and doesn’t look like anything like it does before. Used to be white and soft. Compare the latest photos to the older ones and its a night and day difference. The baba ganoush was SUPER bitter and couldn’t take a second bite from it. Im glad the fried chicken hasn’t lost its charm, still amazing with plenty of rice. Would order that every-time with no hesitation.
Diners beware of Al Aseel Grill & cafe website states they are open until 10:00pm. The doors close at 10:00pm, however they stop cooking at 9:30pm. Arrived at 9:35pm after driving 20 minutes to get…

This place has good food, and I’m a returning customer. I’ve had a similar issue here before, but I usually don’t make a big deal because I genuinely like their food. However, today the lamb mandi was cold on the inside—not lukewarm, but literally cold. I went to the counter to bring it to the waiter’s attention. She responded by saying, “Oh it’s cold?” whispered “Oh my God,” and offered no apology or solution. This experience was disappointing.
We ordered grilled chicken just 2 days ago and we got food poisoning since we ate it, and still suffering. I been customer for several years and I really like this place but we been noticing quality changes lately and never said anything because we love this place, however this is second time we got poisoned by eating at this place so I have to say something now to let them know that they need to be more careful about this matter because other people may make them big problems if they get poisoned.
