Opinions de Cuisine Of India Houston
Best Indian food in Houston hands down.. very nice atmosphere, peaceful and the People are totally awesome!! very attentive and genuinely awesome.. every time I eat out somewhere else I think of India's ( like I could be eating there and it would be AWESOME!) I recommend this place for any occasion. it is in a great spot and they also have a Buffet that is out of this world!!
A local favorite nestled back from the street, I almost missed this restaurant that met all my expectations. I went on a Saturday, early afternoon, and the front parking lot was full, but there is more parking in the rear of the restaurant. The customer service was very friendly. Diners from many walks of life came as they were, and were made welcome. I can see why this place is so popular. The dining room is classy and they accommodated a very large party while I was there. There is plenty of seating. The buffet line was very long and wrapped around the wall. There is a view through the kitchen window where you can watch the doughy naan being made, and the baker will give you a friendly smile. The buffet dishes were clean and shiny. That is really hard to find! And the table and chairs are well built and comfortable during a meeting I was in. The linens are a very nice touch. The waiter was a gentleman and pulled the chair out and seated me. There is a good variety of meats, vegetarian and vegan options, from spicy to non-spicy. There are also a few well known desserts. Everything including my mango lassi tasted fresh and substantial. I only could handle one plate! The waitstaff are experienced and friendly. The buffet is slightly more expensive here (in the twenties), but you really do get what you pay for here! I would be back for a treat and special occasion if I were back in the area. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Thank you for a great experience, India’s Restaurant!
When I walked in I was promptly greeted with a smile and I felt very welcome! They were so nice I felt super important. The food was delicious and fresh. I love the saag paneer; the paneer cubes are bigger than what I have had at other restaurants. I love how covid cautious they are; there’s hand sanitizer and gloves available at the buffet and all the employees wearing masks. The servers came to refill my water frequently which I appreciated. Will definitely be back soon!!
You know how it is when you want to say a restaurant has the best of a certain type of food. You can't most of the time unless you eat their foods side by side I will say that I don't remember having any better Indian food than is consistently served at India's. I've forgotten how long I've eaten there but it's a very long time. The quality of food, table service and courtesy of every employee has never wavered.
India’s Restaurant – Houston My wife has been coming to India’s Restaurant for over 45 years, and now she’s brought me into the tradition—and I’m glad she did. This place truly stands the test of time. The afternoon buffet is a favorite of mine, especially the tandoori chicken and butter chicken. The onion salad is crisp and fresh, and the naan comes out hot, straight from a traditional oven, which makes all the difference. For dinner, my go-to is the spicy lamb vindaloo, paired with fresh rice and naan. Bold, rich flavors done right. There are plenty of other excellent dishes to explore as well, all consistently prepared. Don’t forget the orange mango dessert—rumored to be the owner’s wife’s recipe. It’s the perfect way to cleanse the palate after all the wonderfully spiced dishes. The service is always great—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, an excellent dining experience and a Houston classic for a reason.
Always such a pleasure when visiting Food is delicious, Chai is superb, lamb dishes and spinach paneer are one of the best in H town. Service kind of slow, but always respect and clean. Bathroom are good, clean and on point Highly recommend, if having small children, use caution, most dishes are spicy hot. I will advise and call beforehand to Inquire about this.
Hands down some of the best Indian food in town. We choose this place for dinner. The waiters are attentive and will help you order if you don't understand the menu. They always make good suggestions. The owner will stop by your table to make sure that everything is to your liking. Never had a bad meal here. If you crave Indian food, you must give this restaurant a try. I wanted to add this - my wife lost her Emerald and Diamond ring and was devastated. She realized she may have removed it when she cleaned her hands at our table the night we visited. They give you a wet towel to freshen up before you leave. We called India's the next morning - a Saturday - and they had found it and put it in the office for safe keeping. In todays world it is important to be able to trust. In our case the person who cleared our table was honest and did the right thing. Again, we thank India's and their staff !
Food was excellent. We had the buffet, which had the spread of the usual Punjabi offerings including saag/palak paneer, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, mutton/lamb/goat curry, kheer, mango mousse All of it was fresh and very tasty. The owner is extremely nice and hospitable and came over to chat a couple times. The wait staff was very professional and very easy going. We had a child with a severe egg allergy dining with us and the wait staff host and owner knew all of the ingredients in their food. It was obvious they make things from scratch there. So we dined with ease and peace of mind knowing what to eat and what to avoid for the child. The restaurant was also very clean and give the retro 80s to 90s feel It's obvious why they have been around for 45 years. It's a Houston staple.
Had a lunch buffet. Food was very delicious. Vegetarian appetizers could have been more. But overall had a vry nice experience. Staff was very friendly.
The best part of the restaurant is the hygiene and the service of the staff that’s fabulous they’ve done a great job kept checking us with the food service. You won’t be disappointed with the food and the dessert overall they could bring in some more vegetarian options in their buffet.
After COVID, I noticed many Indian restaurants stopped doing buffets. I recently started working at a company down the street from this establishment and I consider it a blessing as Indian food is arguably my favorite and they have a buffet. The food is always fresh, tasty and filling. They also bring out Naan per your request throughout the meal. I typically come here for lunch once or twice a week. The only reason I probably don't come here more often is the price as each visit, even with a water and a $1-2 tip will cost about $21. I know we are still going through an inflationary journey but my business sense tells me that even with an increase in commodity prices, when you spread it out among all the people who go to the restaurant and you're charging them $20-$30, I'm guessing your margins are still pretty healthy. I remember when most Indian buffets around Houston were $16 and that was only a few years ago. Anyways, service is cordial and professional (I even asked one of the waiters if he could provide some stray cats under their delivery van with some water during our summers and he actually did it with ice in the water, too); ample parking; great food. If the price could come down $2 per person, more of my colleagues would come too.
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. All of the servers were very attentive and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning!
In December of 2024, our long-time favorite Indian restaurant closed. My wife and I spent 8 months trying different Indian restaurants in the Houston area, struggling to find a place that served quality Northern Indian dishes. Today we tried India’s Restaurant, and to our delight we found the taste that we’ve been craving! We enjoyed the lunch buffet, and we’re looking forward to going back. Thank you, India’s!
It was our very first visit to India’s Restaurant, and what an experience it was! The buffet was absolutely incredible, so many options to choose from, including an impressive variety of vegan dishes. Each bite was bursting with authentic flavors, and everything tasted so fresh and delicious. A special shoutout goes to our waiter, who was beyond kind and patient. He took the time to walk us through all the buffet selections and clearly explain which dishes were vegan-friendly, which made us feel so welcomed and cared for. That level of attentiveness really elevated the whole experience. Between the outstanding food, the wide variety of choices, and the thoughtful service, we left feeling both full and grateful. Highly recommend India’s Restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!
the food was really good, especially the malai kofta! there were also lots of vegetarian options which was good because my family and i don’t eat meat. the servers were very attentive as well and they were always re-pouring the water and asking us if we needed anything! i would highly recommend :)
Food was so good and not spicy! I am hooked and will definitely be back again! The chicken pankora is red and looks like it should be spicy, but it was not. It was so full of flavor and crunchy but moist. And the daal! I've never liked lentils but these were so good it was nearly my favorite dish in the buffet.
This was a fantastic experience. The menu had a suggested chef specials and a highly suggested chefs specials. They do not disappoint. The food was amazing and so flavorful that we all ate too much. The Naan was light and fluffy. The dishes were bursting with flavor. It was so good. You will not be disappointed if you choose to dine here. I highly recommend this restaurant 👌 😍
Dotting wait staff from the beginning to the end, led by the Manager. Dining experience was great. If you love spicy food, then you’d love Indian food. The Shrimp Biryani combines so many tastes. Gosht Amritsari (stewed tender boneless lamb). Absolutely love the Naan (bread). The Taj lager beer (recommended by the Manager) was good!
Wonderful food, excellent service, nice comfortable atmosphere. Clean surroundings, large capacity. Nice variety of dinner options. Flavors were nice and deep. Food was fresh tasting and served in an appropriate amount of time. I had the non vegetarian dinner, the others selected a few specific dishes. The portions were typically sized for dinner. Everything was delicious. We got there ahead of the rush apparently, business really picked up a little while later. Plenty of people coming in food to go as well. Would absolutely return and highly recommend to others.
Ordered delivery so it’s really disappointed with the containers that are non-sustainable. But the food was excellent the soup, the chicken, dessert, really fantastic flavors. Would love to see sustainable containers in the future.
We are group of four who had come to buffet on Friday. The people look down on their customers and only the blue shirt guy ( idk his name) was attending us. The food is not the real Indian version. The tandoori chicken sucks. Samosa chat is good. No biryani . I am a Telugu ( Indian ). For worst, please don’t waste money on this restaurant. Food and behaviour sucks . They don’t want customers to come .
