Super cute and cuddly little cat cafe! The kitties were extremely well socialized and well cared for! We had a great time petting and feeding the kitties. Definitely opt for buying the churu treat. The kitties are very smart and will approach you a lot more if you have something for their kitten tax requirement. Regarding the cafe aspect, only the hot coffee is fresh made. The cold brew and ice teas are bottled so keep that in mind when making your choice. Overall we had a great time and will be coming back again soon. ❤️
Loved the set up! Super clean and amazing place to play and hang out with some cats! Also all the cats there are up for adoption! The staff was super helpful with any questions and know all the cats behaviors. Make sure to reserve a slot! You come on the hour and stay for an hour !
What a peaceful way to spend an hour on Sunday. I love cats so this is a really sweet way to spend some time with several rescue cats. You can feed them treats and play with them. I am partial to black cats, but they had tabby, calico and tuxedo cats too. I got a cinnamon roll and a latte. The cinnamon roll was delicious!
We arrived right when they opened at 11 and booked a reservation beforehand. We were given the opportunity to buy treats and snacks or beverages before going in. Prior to being lead into the room, we were given a brief list of rules to follow, such as non running, respecting the cats space, and ensuring one door remains closed before opening another to ensure the cats dont escape, as there are two doors leading to the room of cats. I guess the cats were hungry because upon the first visitors, us, as they were pretty vigilant about getting their treats from us. From climbing on us, racing towards us, smacking the treats out of our hands, typical cat behavior which resulted in some scratches. Nevertheless, they were so cute and allowed us to pet them after a few minutes of them calming down. Some cats were more affectionate than others, and others preferred to keep to themselves. It was very cute and fascinating to see each cats very own personalities come out. They also do have their pictures with their names so you can identify them, as well as a binder on a table with their names, birthdays, and other info. They also mentioned something about all the cats being available for adoption, which I thought was sweet as they are also looking for homes for these cuties. I did order a matcha latte and I was given a buzzer which went off when I was in the cat room. You have to leave the building to pick your food and beverage items up outside to the food truck in the parking lot. The matcha latte was pretty meh. It lacked in matcha flavor and was just milk, but its okay, I came for the cats and the food and beverages were just a bonus. After the visit, which I was surprised an hour went by so fast, we were able to buy merchandise from the gift shop, ranging from clothes, pins, stickers, etc, all cat themed of course. Cute place if you want to just relax and hang out with cats.
The cats were so cute! I really liked the service, this woman would come up to us with info (telling us their names or just lending us the book with all the information on each cat.) There’s a truck outside where you get the drinks and food. It was filled with cute kitties and there would be some hiding in places I didn’t notice. One of the kitties did throw up infront of me but im not gonna hold that against them. Sir edwin was definitely the most entertaining and active. Murphey is very beautiful and is an orange cat. I WOULD GO AGAIN!! So fun!
Initially it was a place to visit to interact with cats and have some fun but it turned into an adoption. Not because the staff is pushy but because we fell in love with the purrfect kitten! We made sure to interact twice before moving forward with adoption but it’s been great so far! Love the fact that they socialize their kittens so you know for a fact that you’re getting a social baby!
UPDATE: We attended "yoga with cats" and it is DEFINITLY worth going to. The instructor, who is awesome, takes you through 'gentle yoga' while the kittens and cats play around you. They have added more class times with both painting and yoga and both fill up fast, so you will need to make your reservations well in advance. We came home from our "yoga with cats" and immediately made our next reservation in...late August. WOW! El Gato Coffeehouse has really expanded from the last time we were there in October 2020. You no longer start in the kitten room and move to the adult cat room. I did not go into the original building, so I do not know how that was set up. Their website looks like you can set up private/group sessions in the original building but the newer building is for individual sessions in which you are in a large room wth other people. El Gato does restrict how many people are in the room. You must make reservations in advance to enter the room. The room is set up with small tables and small bean bag chairs (for the cats to sleep on of course). Parking is somewhat difficult since the place has grown in both space and outside knowledge and the parking lot has not, be prepared to park on the street if the parking lot is full. NOTE: there is only one way in and one way out of the parking lot with no place to turn around. Atmosphere is laid back, with people chatting in groups and cats meadering around the room, stopping for occasional petting and playing with toys. El Gato has also added other events, such as "yoga wth cats", "painting with cats" and "studying with cats".
Unfortunately I can’t tell you about the food because the food truck was in the shop sadly. Anywho this place is awesome if you want to meet some cats or study ; the place only allows drinks in the cat room. They have treats you can buy in the front in the check in desk. You can come sit down meet the cats and study for a max amount of time of 4 hrs. You have to be careful feed them treats but you do have some they will swarm you 😂. Very friendly staff they are awesome.
Loved everything about this place! Very sweet, cute kitties. They had lots of space to run around and things to climb up. We really enjoyed our iced chai lattes and just hanging out with the kitties. They have a great mission and have rescued a lot of cats! I would highly recommend visiting if you are a cat lover.
Loved this place. Visited for a morning cat yoga class. Instructor was great and it was very relaxing. Having the cats all around you makes it a great and super cute experience. All cats are for adoption. They have some adults and some kittens, all well behaved so it's easy for you to pet all of them. Definitely reccomend!
My boyfriend and I visited the Cat Studio and it was so cool. The workers said that there were 31 cats in the studio. There were quite a few small kittens and then many adult cats. All of the kitties were so sweet and even only being in there an hour, I could see all of their different little personalities. If I didn’t already have a cat at home, I would’ve definitely started the adoption process with Lucy and Ben. All of the cats look super healthy and the studio didn’t have a gross litter box smell like some of the reviews said. I definitely recommend!!!!! If you go, make sure to buy the cat treats! They love them
The place is much smaller than I expected, but the hour I spent there I enjoyed it to the fullest. The kitties are beautiful and they look well taken care of, they have a separate smaller room for the shy ones and there’s a little gift shop with a lot of cute kitty-themed merch. You can also adopt any of the kitties and I loved the concept. UPDATE: They just opened a “second location” in the building right in front of the cottage called The Cat Studio, the space is much larger and they have more cats. When you go, you will be able to choose between the two buildings which have their own separate entrance fee.
Really great place to see and interact with cats. Possibly adopt one. Definitely not a place to enjoy coffe though as that menu is very limited. One would not come here for coffe or anything else other than cats basically. Got to enjoy our session and interact with adoptable cats. Definitely a cool place one should consider if you are looking to adopt a cat.
Overall, I had a nice time—mainly because I always enjoy being around cats. That said, there are a few things worth noting. To start, I didn’t feel properly greeted upon arrival. I don’t expect a rolled out red carpet, but a simple “Hi, welcome!” would have made a difference. Instead, the first thing I was asked was, “Do you have a reservation?”—with no warm greeting or acknowledgment beforehand. It set a somewhat cold tone right from the start. The space is limited to one house unless you're planning to adopt, which grants access to a second area. The room was a bit musty, and although they had two electronic litter boxes, the overall cleanliness could be improved. Two of the cats were confined, which I assume was due to illness—understandable, but it slightly affected the open environment I was expecting. One disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available during my visit. Having coffee available would have made the experience feel more complete. Still, I was happy to learn that the proceeds go directly to supporting the lounge and caring for the cats. The admission fee was acceptable, and despite a few drawbacks, I appreciated the chance to spend time with the cats and support a good cause.
Horrible experience. Upon checking in for a private session, we were informed our one year old would need to pay $20 on top of the what we already paid to reserve it. I’ve never been to a place where infants are charged the same price as adults! We were told if she was in a stroller it would be free… what?? So if I’m holding my baby it’s $20 and if I put her in the stroller it’s free? I said fine we will get the stroller and she said sorry to late! Are you trucking kidding me?! Place smelled like a litter box. The cats were uninterested. One of them scratched my friend on the way out for no reason. Why on earth would people pay for this?
