Opinions de Kefita Coffee Houston
Visited Houston from Portland OR and had to try this Ethiopian coffeeshop! I’m very attentive to espresso quality and the cortados/espresso my spouse and I had here were sooo dialed in and good — but the best part was the warm staff who were sweet and attentive to my group including our friends’ baby! The atmosphere was so cozy and clean, too. We had such a nice experience there that in our limited time/trip, we decided to go back one more time to support and also try their seasonal menu! I had the cornbread latte which was fantastic and the perfect amount of sweet, paired with a nice crispy sambusa. This homey cafe felt like a hidden gem and underrated highlight of our Houston trip ☺️🫶🏽 Thank you again! Please give the staff a high five!
The barista was super sweet and helpful. It was my sister’s and I’s first time at this coffee shop and he gave us really good recommendations 😊 we ended up getting a flight with a mix of matcha and coffee. Loved the cozy atmosphere so much, we were there for hours! hoping to be back soon!!
If you’re looking for a cozy Ethiopian coffee spot in Houston, this IS it. ☕✨ From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm, inviting, and super adorable. The aesthetic is thoughtful without trying too hard. It feels curated, calm, and creative all at once. Now let’s talk about the cortado flight — because yes. A whole experience. My personal favorite? I couldn’t decide as every sip felt intentional. You can taste the quality and care behind the beans. Everything was just… perfect. The energy. The presentation. The coffee. It’s one of those places that makes you want to slow down, stay awhile, and then come back again the next week. I will absolutely be back over and over again.
Looooooove this spot!!! The vibe is so chill and laid back. Very cozy, like a home feel. The service was great. The owner was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The spot was very clean and spacious. There are 2 levels. A lot of spaces are available. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a balcony. Free street parking. Love the selection of music. I could have easily stayed there all day. It was hard for me to leave. So peaceful. I purchased the abyssinia latte (hot), sambusa and small donuts (carrot cake, caramel) which come as a pair. Everything was tasty. My favorite were the small donuts. OMG!!!! Soooooo delicious 😋 The carmel was my favorite out of the two. There are other flavors to choose from. I will definitely be back to try the flight and other pastries and food items. Check em them out. You won't be disappointed.
Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed my coffee and time at Kefita. Ernesto was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely welcoming to us while making the most delicious drinks. Kefita is a house with many rooms to explore and unwind in. There are even craft activities and board games throughout the floors to play! I cannot wait to come back.
I love to support local coffee shops, and I'm really glad that I decided to check Kefita Coffee this morning. I wasn't sure about what I wanted to order, but the guy behind the counter suggested I try the Abyssinian Latte and an order of Sambusa for a bite to eat. It was my first time trying either one, and they did not disappoint 🔥☺️ I'm sure I'll be here a lot more in the future.
In this converted home, you'll find a naturally lit coffee shop serving brews from Ethiopia. Enjoy the morning in their upstairs lounge or work on the first floor. The pour-overs are well-priced and served in a beaker-like set. Experience a soothing Ethiopian blend and check out this tranquil coffee shop.
I visited this coffee shop for the first time today and immediately knew I would be back! The staff is welcoming and friendly. They have good coffee selections and delicious seasonal drinks (I tried the candied yams latte). The space itself was also a vibe with plenty of room to do work or just socialize. I will be back!
We got a couple drinks here and they both tasted pretty good! We had waited awhile for our drinks because they were busy but then gave us a couple of free treats to go along with it which was really nice :) There are some games to play too which makes it a fun atmosphere. We played mancala a couple rounds. Chill music playing in the background on a record player. People working too though so not super loud Great coffee shop overall!
my favorite coffee shop in Houston! It feels like hanging out at a cool friend’s house. The space is lovely and relaxing, the drinks are creative, and the baristas are friendly.
My wife brought me here and I’m so glad she did. I’m always looking for a cafe to study and it looks like this will be it. The coffee, food, and vibe was great. The barista was friendly and knowledgeable. I can also appreciate that it wasn’t loud. I will for sure be back.
A nice chill coffee shop in a converted home with interesting twists on the standard fare. More spicy than sweet which is so nice to have over the norm. Not a very strong bean which could have made it perfect but still really good. Get the flight and try their specials.
Probably one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to in Houston. Cozy atmosphere and 10/10 customer service. They were kind enough to bring our drinks and food to the second floor. Every drink tastes amazing and the consistency with their quality and service is awesome. Give it a try and I’m confident it’ll be your go to coffee shop!
Tried Kefita Coffee in Houston and really liked it! It’s a cozy place with a nice vibe and friendly people. The coffee was strong and full of flavor. I also got to learn a bit about Ethiopian coffee culture, which was cool. A great spot if you want something different from your usual coffee shop.
Vibe- Very cute coffee shop with a home vibe! There’s a nice amount of seating inside and there’s an outside space as well. Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got the ruby red that is an iced dirty matcha; it was soooooooo good. Sadly, it isn’t a regular menu item but it was made in honor of the co-owners birthday. Maybe they’ll bring it back because it was soooooo good 😆 Parking- There was street parking that should suffice.
Delicious coffee and very spacious location with inside seating on two stories and balcony and terrace seating!
Inside this renovated home, the atmosphere is so fun and interesting! I had a sambusa for the first time. It was delicious! Each room upstairs had a different feel to it, the music was relaxing and the staff was so friendly. Highly recommend this place!

This is my recent discovery. I loved the cozy rooms each decorated differently. People can meet and chat or they can open a laptop and work/study. Their spicy coffee specials are great adventure to try. Great quality coffee and pastries. I loved the cream cheese filled pastry, super delicious.

Great place, cool homie vibes. Service was very nice and informative about community events they host. Coffee was great, I recommend the flight if you have a hard time choosing. My favorite pastry is the one filled with sweet cream cheese. Tried many different great items, the sambusa was heavily wrapped, kinda took the flavor from it, but could just be comparing it to Blue Nile ethiopian restaurant. Can't go wrong with anything else, it's all so good! They also have upstairs seating (inside and outside).

We had a wonderful experience here! Everyone working the counter was friendly and courteous, their drink selection covers all the basics you could want in addition to some really wonderful specialty drinks. Their seasonal menu was really inventive and fun too! The food is also excellent, I got a Love Bun and woah! It was so good! The space seems very community oriented and welcoming, the vibes are chill and there is quite a bit of room to spread out. My group and I felt very welcomed here! They even remembered my name at the end of our visit as I bussed my things. After how many customers they served in my time there I was really surprised and touched. I can't wait to go back!
Obsessed is an understatement. I cannot recommend enough. The entire Kefita team is welcoming and loving and it’s reflected in the coffee and the beautiful coffee shop they’ve built. This cozy, two story coffee shop is filled with culture, art and plenty of space indoors and outdoors. The coffee is delicious and the croissants were one of the best I’ve ever had!!!!

First off, the place is so homey, might be because it's in a residential house that's been converted into a coffee shop, but besides that they did an amazing job of curating such a cozy vibe. The decor is beautiful, and the music they play sets such a great mood. I got the Abyssinia Latte and two sambusas. I think the latte has to be one of the best lattes I've ever had in my life! Kudos to the barista (someone wearing a beanie and glasses who was also super friendly) the espresso was perfectly pulled, not too bitter-and it was sweetened to just the right level. The spice blend was heavenly! And the sambusas were top tier as well. I have never been to an Ethiopian coffee shop before but I think I have to start frequenting them. Usually when I go to a coffee shop, I feel like I need to listen to my own music through headphones, and I always end up adding sweetener to my drink because I find most places burn their espresso making the latte taste bitter. But I didn't have to do neither of those things at Kefita! I was happily sipping my perfect latte and enjoying the music they were playing very much. I wish I was a Houston local so I could always come here.
Lovely place to meet a friend, do work, or simply enjoy a special cup. We went for the Ethiopian speaking of their coffee culture.

My visit didn’t meet my expectations. This place came highly recommended and was on a list of best coffee shops in Houston. I really enjoy Ethiopian coffee Barista didn’t really help me understand options for ordering. My coffee items tasted fine but the espresso was pretty bitter and the flavored drink didn’t taste like espresso or the flavors added. Might be amazing. The space was a house and really cool. But many other coffee shops I prefer in Houston.
