Opinions de Masraff's Houston
Went here for Valentine’s Day with my husband and was blown away! The food was amazing and reasonably priced for how upscale the menu was. The chocolate crème brûlée was probably the best dessert I’ve ever had. The service was also great for how busy it was. I look forward to going back to explore their regular menu.
Decided on Masraff’s for our Saturday night dinner, and it did not disappoint. Very good service and all our food was delicious.
Seven of us enjoyed a perfect evening at Massraf’s. From the appetizers (garlic calamari and quail) to the entrees (Seabass, Rack-Of-Lamb, Snapper, Hibachi-Nigiri, 8oz Filet) to the desserts (Sticky-Toffee, Apple Crisp and Chocolate Fondat), it was 5-Star all the way. I don’t drink wine but our companions liked the selection. This was our first visit to their newer location and the room was very tastefully done with great ambience. Service was attentive without being over-bearing. Highly recommended!!!
We came for an early dinner this evening prior to a show downtown. Our server (TJ?) was amazing and perfectly attentive. He was quick to get our drink order, made great recommendations, and kept everything cleaned and filled throughout the meal. Everything we ordered was delicious and came out quickly.
I was at a IABC luncheon here and the servers did an absolutely fabulous job! Coming from the restaurant business myself and paying attention to details, I was thoroughly impressed not only with the food but the level of top tier professionalism of the servers down to the wait time in between appetizers, main courses and our drinks being subtly filled while quickly maneuvering for us to see the screen and to never be a distraction during the presentation. It was in a tight room too- when I tell you they must practice going in between those tables and around those corners! 😍 Bravo Masraff's! I was not expecting to moan on that Clam Chowder soup! ☺️🥰
I came here for the first time with my boyfriend and a group of friends and it far exceeded my expectations! We were early so we sat at the bar and Sandy was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and recommended one of the best wines I’ve had in a while. We then moved to a table once our entire group arrived and our waiter TJ was fantastic and checked on the menu options to confirm they were fine with my gluten sensitivity. At the end of the night, Mr. Masraff came by to say “hi” which was a nice touch. Food, staff and atmosphere was 10/10 - highly recommend!
I enjoyed having lunch here with the group. We had the private dining space. The menu was great and everyone enjoyed their meals. It's very much an upscale restaurant for fine-dining. Great ambience, warm and professional staff.
We recently hosted a large corporate holiday event at Masraff’s and were absolutely not disappointed. The service was impeccable (as always), and the food was utterly delicious. After evaluating many upscale restaurants for our event, we were blown away by the staff’s willingness to accommodate our vision for the evening, their flexibility in our use of their space, and the extreme level of menu customization welcomed. Their understanding of what true hospitality looks like is unmatched in Houston. In my first phone call with Brian, the GM, he said, “We like to say yes at Masraff’s.” He couldn’t have known how many limitations had been presented in my meetings with his competitors and how meaningful that remark was. Brian’s welcoming attitude, Maclane’s kind responsiveness via email, and Russell’s ability to put me at ease (and obvious care for his clients) earned my business and will continue to do so. Highly, highly recommend!
My dining experience at Masraff's for Houston Restaurant Weeks was truly exceptional. The elegant ambiance and impeccable service set the stage for an unforgettable meal, and the menu they offered for the event was outstanding. For my appetizer, I had the Jumbo Lump Crab Vol Au Vent. The pastry was light and flaky, and it was filled with a generous portion of delicious jumbo lump crab, served in a rich and savory mushroom and white wine sauce. It was a perfect start to the evening. The main course was the Pacific Lane Snapper. The fish was cooked to perfection—moist and flaky with a beautifully seared skin. It was served over a delectable sauce and alongside a flavorful rice and vegetable medley. The combination of textures and flavors was fantastic and showcased the chef's expertise. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Golden Delicious Apple Cobbler was a masterpiece. The crumble topping was buttery and crisp, complementing the warm, spiced apples inside. Topped with a generous scoop of what I believe was bourbon vanilla ice cream and a fresh mint leaf, it was a truly decadent and comforting treat. My wife had the Banana Bread Trifle, which was equally impressive. Served in a charming glass jar, it was a layered dessert with rich banana custard, fluffy vanilla whipped cream, and a satisfying Nilla wafer crumble. Masraff's delivered an incredible fine dining experience for a great cause. Every dish was a work of art, and the quality of the ingredients and presentation was top-notch. I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just to treat yourself to an amazing meal.
Review of Masraff's Catering - I cannot recommend working with Brooke and the Masraff's team enough for your big occasion. If you want a seamless day with excellent service, delicious food (everyone told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding), and a team that goes the extra mile for you, look no further. Masraff's provided full service catering (including set-up and tear-down), bar service, late-night snack, and cut and served our cake. The team also worked directly with our rentals vendor to ensure that our rentals (e.g., tables, bar facade, specialty plates, napkins, etc.) were perfectly placed and returned on time. Brooke, Jeffrey, and Mr. Masraff were flexible, professional, and so kind to us on the day and in the months leading up to it. From going to our venue to personally measure each space to ensure our tables would fit in a tight space, to giving us flexibility on a rain plan (down to a couple of days before!), to crafting a delicious signature mocktail--the level of dedication that we experienced was truly unmatched. Thank you to the team for making our day so wonderful--we are so, so grateful! (all photos c/o our wonderful photographer Allie Ryann Photography)
Masraff’s: A Timeless Favorite in Houston’s Foodie Scene Masraff’s has been a staple in the Houston dining scene for decades — and for good reason. The food and service are consistently exceptional, every single time. Let’s talk about the calamari. Hands down, the best in town. I devoured it so fast I didn’t even stop to take a photo (which says it all). For entrées, the Hubby ordered the cod while I went with the ribeye — both were well prepared and packed with flavor. The ribeye was a tad overcooked. I like my steaks medium rare. The steak I received was medium. But it still tasted yummy. And those Brussels sprouts? Massive and delicious! I genuinely love this place — and not just because Russell and Tony are longtime friends. They’ve created a formula that works: elevated cuisine, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back. On our most recent visit, our waiter Barry was outstanding. Service is everything to me, and Barry — along with the entire Masraff’s team — gets it exactly right.
Masraff’s: A Benchmark for Fine Dining in Houston Dining at Masraff’s is a masterclass in refined hospitality and culinary excellence, setting the standard for upscale restaurants in Houston. From the moment you enter, the elegant yet welcoming ambiance envelops you, complemented by attentive staff and the personal touch of the Masraff family, who are known to greet guests and ensure every visit feels special. The Meal Our evening began with the Texas quail, a standout starter. The quail arrived perfectly deboned, making it effortless to enjoy every juicy, tender bite. The subtle sherry vinaigrette added a delicate brightness, enhancing the natural flavor of the meat—a testament to the kitchen’s attention to both preparation and presentation. Next, the ahi tuna was a revelation. Freshness is paramount at Masraff’s, and it was evident in the vibrant color and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the tuna. Each slice was expertly seared, locking in a buttery richness that paired beautifully with the accompanying garnishes. The Alaskan cod followed, showcasing the kitchen’s deft hand with seafood. The cod was flaky and moist, with a subtle sweetness that spoke to its quality and careful sourcing—Masraff’s is renowned for serving only wild-caught fish, and the difference is unmistakable. Dessert: A Showstopper The tiramisu pancetta was nothing short of extraordinary. This creative twist on a classic Italian dessert layered the familiar coffee and mascarpone flavors with a savory-sweet pancetta accent, resulting in a dessert that was both innovative and deeply satisfying. It’s rare to find a dessert that surprises and delights in equal measure, but Masraff’s tiramisu pancetta managed to do just that, providing a memorable finale to the meal. Atmosphere and Service Masraff’s delivers an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and comfortable, making it ideal for celebrations, business dinners, or a romantic night out. The staff are consistently attentive and knowledgeable, guiding diners through the menu and wine list with genuine enthusiasm. The wine program is exceptional, with an extensive, expertly curated selection that has earned accolades from Wine Spectator. Final Thoughts Masraff’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Each dish is crafted with precision and passion, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between luxury and warmth. Whether you’re a longtime Houstonian or a visitor, Masraff’s is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking the pinnacle of fine dining in the city.
A friend and I went for lunch. The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. We shared the calamari, fried green tomato’s, crab cake and Caesar salad. I got the redfish and risotto and she got a filet. Everything was cooked perfectly. We also shared the apple crisp. Would highly recommend.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Masraff's in Houston. Everything was perfect—from the elegant and welcoming atmosphere to the outstanding service. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the young boy who looked after my sister and me was so polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was genuinely warm and down-to-earth. And the food? Absolutely amazing—easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Houston. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Masraff's is truly a gem, and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!
Had a celebratory work dinner here and it was a fantastic time with great food and service. My favorite dishes were the foie gras (cherry sauce was delicious) and garlic seared calamari. Service was impressive especially for a large group of 16 and the atmosphere was nice, white table cloth.
A popular fine dining restaurant with a nice vibe, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. We have visited this restaurant numerous times in the past as a couple and also with some friends. I fully recommend their Garlic Seared Calamari and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. They are delicious. Same goes with their steaks and lamb racks. Succulent juicy meat and tasty. Their sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Customer service was excellent. Staffs were attentive, friendly and efficient.
I am all about ambience and atmosphere. This place is truly met my expectations! I love trying cocktails, and my friend and I tried about 10 cocktails total, and all amazed us! We set at the bar for the night and ordered bunch of snacks. I would come back to try some of their steaks and sea bass. Great place to check out!
What a great date night place! It’s a beautiful restaurant and the ambience was romantic with low lights!!! This was our first time here and was very impressed by the food! We had the calamari which is the best we’ve ever had. It’s a must try!!! For dinner we decided to go with the red snapper and short rib with a side of lobster grits. All the food was delicious but the lobster grits definitely could have used more seasoning but again it was amazing food. Probably one of my new favorite places. Our server was Freddie and not only was he so attentive, but he was superb at all of his recommendations, he was friendly and funny! We really liked him a lot. I absolutely loved that the owner Mr. Tony Masraff went around to each table to introduce himself and ask how was the experience so far. That was a game changer for us! We will definitely be back!!! Thanks again Freddie!!!
Valet is $10 but there is a free parking garage in the back. On days where it’s busy, it might take you a bit of time to find a spot and get situated so plan ahead if you made reservations. My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night around 6 PM so it wasn’t too packed inside the restaurant. Right when we got seated, the waiter took orders for drinks/appetizers and put down a bread basket in front of us. The bread was warm and had salt and rosemary on top- it was delicious with the butter! For drinks, I asked for their sweetest beverage and the server said he’ll surprise me. He brought out a pineapple cocktail which was refreshing, spritzy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. For appetizers, my friend and I got the Hudson Valley Foie Gras which was spectacular. It was rich and buttery from the foie gras and thyme butter brioche (that had a nice toasted texture) and was balanced out with the tartness from the strawberries. I highly recommend this dish! In terms of the entree, I ended up getting the American Red Snapper. The exterior was nice and crispy, the filet was flaky, and the flavor was well done with the creamy sauce on top. I also enjoyed the polenta and veggies that came with the fish. I had a bite of my friend’s Bison Ribeye and to be honest, it wasn’t my favorite. It tasted very sweet like teriyaki jerky but if that’s what you look for in a steak, this dish might be for you! As for the sides, we got the jumbo lump crab fried rice and Masraff’s creamed spinach. Although I’m not exactly used to zucchini and bell peppers being in fried rice, the generous lumps of crab was appreciated and it was a decent side. The creamed spinach is rich and heavy but paired well with the bread. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Masraff’s!
Masraff's provided catering services for our wedding at the Houston Museum of Natural Science back in April. They did an incredible job with the menu creation and quality of the food, with some issues in serving to the guests during cocktail hour. For the chef, we would give a 10/5 if we could! We asked whether we would be able to mix various Indian and Mexican dishes, and the head chef came back with a full fusion menu that we were surprised by! The tastings were incredible, and they worked with us to fine tune the menu. On our wedding day, the food itself was incredible. Our guests loved it, and we heard many glowing reviews. It tasted delicious the next day as well (when we were able to fully enjoy). We especially enjoyed the rose-infused fusion tres leches that they created. However, there were two issues with planning out cocktail hour. While we paid per guest, Masraff's did not send out enough appetizers for all of our guests to enjoy. We heard glowing reviews from the ones who were able to taste the appetizers, but a number of our guests mentioned that they were never able to try the appetizers since they were gone quickly as soon as the servers came out. In addition, Masraff's did not stock enough ingredients for one of our signature drinks, and they ran out within the first 20 minutes. Luckily, they were able to get more later in the night for dinner, but it was disappointing that we, as the bride and groom, were unable to try our own signature drink despite asking for it in the first hour of the reception. Overall, we had a great time and really appreciated Masraff's ability to create a custom menu.
The food was great. Our waiter was very nice. But the attitude of the seating staff was terrible. We are early diners, and were the first party to arrive for dinner that evening. In a room full of empty tables, we were escorted to a dismal two-top next to the kitchen door. When we asked for a better table, we were directed to another little two-top next to the bussing station. Seriously. So, while the food was quite nice, being shown so clearly how little we were valued at Masraff's left us with rather a bad aftertaste. As there is no shortage of restaurants in Houston that serve great food with a more welcoming attitude, we see no reason to visit this one again.
