This is our date brunch or lunch spot hands down. Every time we come here we have the best service and experience. The food is delicious. I always get the famous fajita tacos. You can make reservations the same day. You walk in and get seated right away. Once, you are done you can walk across the street to the street market and enjoy a variety of vendors.
I have come here multiple times and each time is amazing. From great services to great food and drinks. It is a little pricey but worth it in my option. My favorite are the fajitas and carnitas. A little hack is to come during happy hour which end at 6pm for their margaritas pitchers that are only $25 which steal compare to the regular price for a pitcher.
If you think you know Tex-Mex, Ninfa's on Navigation will completely change your perspective. This isn't your typical Tex-Mex-its fresher, bolder, and simply better. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and high-quality ingredients that set it apart from the usual fare. We indulged in a spread that included sizzling fajitas, beefy enchiladas, succulent queso flameado, and perfectly grilled short ribs. Each bite was a testament to why Ninfa's is a Houston institution. What makes the experience even better? Minimal wait time for a table, and once seated, the friendly staff checks in frequently to ensure everything is perfect. After ordering, your food arrives in about 10 minutes - no matter the size of party, which is impressive given the quality and presentation. If your building a bucket list of top places to eat in Houston, Ninfa's off Navigation deserves a spot at the very top. Its not just a meal - it's a culinary experience that redefines Tex-Mex.
This was my first time coming here and I can definitely say it did not disappoint! The flavor of the food is amazing it’s definitely feels very authentic. The vibe in the restaurant is definitely fun you don’t even feel like you are in Houston anymore. The service is quick even on the weekend there was no long wait time for a table a the customer service is amazing the waitress we had was very attentive!
welcoming and lively atmosphere and music! Our server gave us great recommendations and the food came out piping hot. Flavors were on point. We were stuffed and in a food coma afterwards!!
Lunch at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation was outstanding! Everything we tried was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The handmade tortillas were a highlight—warm, soft, and absolutely worth the visit on their own. The Tacos al Carbón came generously filled with perfectly cooked chicken, and the Mexican rice was hands-down one of the best I’ve had—rich, fluffy, and well seasoned. The Sopa Azteca was comforting and deeply flavorful, exactly what you hope for in a classic Mexican soup. Full of white chicken breast! To finish, the churros with vanilla ice cream were the perfect dessert: crisp on the outside, soft inside, and beautifully paired with the ice cream. Service truly elevated the experience. José Luis was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful—he was a star and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the meal. Between the food, the service, and the warm atmosphere, this lunch reminded me why Ninfa’s is such a Houston classic. I’ll definitely be back.
Another fantástico meal at the Houston landmark was had. Kudos to Melisaa, our server. She ensured our party was happy while tending to other larger tables. The whole experience from entrance to exit was true hospitality. My discerning Chicago, Mexican friend (read hard to satisfy) enjoyed his meal and appetizers so much that he actually complemented it and all involved. The kids loved their meals. Only drawback is, it is loud, especially on weekends. Valet is easy, free and they work for tips. Definitely recommend for locals and visitors alike.
Really enjoyed Ninfa’s on Revolution Blvd. Great atmosphere, great food, and everything came out fast and hot. Definitely a go‑to when you want something consistently good.
Ninfa’s never misses. The food is always fresh and full of flavor, the tortillas are insane, and the vibe is just easy and fun. Great service, great plates, zero regrets every time.
Came all the way from Sydney, Australia. Ninfa's didn't disappoint! Great food, beautiful atmosphere and service. Shout out to Jose for looking after us. Exceptional
Daniela was the most wonderful server!! The food was everything we hoped for. We got mole and beef fajitas and margaritas as drinks. Every single item was absolutely fabulous and perfect and delicious. Atmosphere was great. It wasn’t too loud and it was comfortable and the food was so yummy. We couldn’t be more happy. We plan to come back on our next visit to Texas!!
It's a time machine museum cultural experience that happens to be a restaurant as well. It's the original location and very unique in its presentation and food. It's not a red plate / blue plate restaurant. This has recipes that creates a cultural experience and it's not easily replicated.
This was my first time in Houston and I was there for work. I happened to meet up with some college friends and the one friend suggested Ninfa's and I'm so glad she did! The food was amazing, the staff was so nice and all in all the atmosphere was so nice! I definitely can't wait to come back to Houston and visit Ninfa's again!!
Family dinner with our two kiddos. It was our first time. Although it was busy there was no wait. The atmosphere was lively and busy, the aesthetic offered modern hacienda vibes. Although the tables are a little too close together we were comfortable. The service was great and timely. The kiddos loved the chips and queso to start off with. We ordered a parrillada for the 4 of us to share and it was more than plenty! Perfect variety if you want to try all the great things they offer from seafood and sausage to quail! We had so much left over to take home as well! Everything was full of flavor and the proteins were all high quality. The picture of our meal speaks for itself! Already daydreaming of our next visit. A true Houston staple 🦜🍹❤️
8/2/2025: It's been a minute since I've been here and I was thrilled to see the same great service and delicious food. All the staff wear the traditional Mexican attire. I love that look. Nancy was our waitress. She was super attentive plus very fast with drink refills, extra lemon, and food order delivery. My friend had the "India" salad. I had the "Delicioso" with a cheese Enchilada, beef flauta, and beef taco al carbon. I did not have a margarita, but I imagine they are pretty good there. The atmosphere is the same as I remember with a casual and comfortable setting. They offer valet parking. We arrived around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, so I took my chances in finding a spot in the near by parking lot. They have a large area for parking, but the place does get crowded on the weekends, so I was prepared to valet if needed. Our bill was $67.23 before tip. It is more expensive than other Mexican restaurants, but completely worth it. This is one of those places in Houston that all locals know about and have frequented. It's trendy, yet family oriented. It's casual, yet great for a Sunday lunch wearing your Sunday best after church. It would be great for a casual day date or laid back night date, but I would not recommend it for an intimate date setting. It's is not romantic setting and it is difficult to talk because it can get loud. It would be a great place to bring out of town friends to and then show them the downtown area near by. They are cleaning it up nicely! They have bar seating, the original dining room seating, patio seating, and an enclosed patio/terrace area. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant. We drove 16 miles in traffic (both ways) on a Saturday in Houston to have lunch. It was worth it.
Our visit to Ninfa’s on Navigation in Houston was fantastic! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was vibrant and inviting. Lissett, our server, made our experience even better, she was extremely welcoming, professional, and offered excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and beautifully prepared. Every dish we tried was fresh and satisfying. Great service combined with great food made for a truly memorable meal. We’ll definitely be back.
This was a great restaurant! Definitely better than the other Ninfa's locations. We ordered the musicas tacos, chicken enchiladas, and another taco dish. The food was served very promptly; I'd say within 15 minutes of placing the order. Our waiter also filled up or drinks as soon as they got halfway empty. Definitely would return soon; this is a very good Tex-mex restaurant!
I live in NW Houston, but I wanted to try out this restaurant because it’s one of the iconic ones in Houston. It was PACKED on a regular Saturday at 9 pm when we arrived, so we’re glad we had made reservations. But there’s plenty of seating outdoors and indoor. Good food, large menu and wine selection, quick service, and friendly staff. We ordered margaritas, jalapeño rellenitos, mole chicken enchiladas, and fajitas. Everything was delicious. Our server Tina ( Argentina from Honduras) was so friendly and efficient. The ambience was a little loud for my preference, but it’s family friendly and there were a lot of birthday celebrations going on so it was ok.
I went to Ninfa’s on a Friday night at around 7pm. The restaurant was packed, however the valet was fast, and the restaurant is quite large, allowing a more quiet experience in the back. As I was walking through the restaurant I noticed a lot of people had fajitas on their table, as this place invented sizzling fajitas! I tried the uptown margarita which was quite delicious, following by the quesoflameado which was melted cheese with chorizo, mushrooms, peppers, and green onion! So good topped with salsa verde. Then I had chicken enchiladas suizas! The flavor was deep, complex, and not too salty. The steak fajitas were so tender I should’ve omitted the enchiladas tbh. Definetly would return, the best Tex mex I’ve ever had. Clean, fast, and very good.
Had the Tejanas, it was awesome. Our server Kady (who is the best) suggested my wife have the Carnitas, boy did that not disappoint! I wish I had gone that way! Refried beans are a class above. The atmosphere and attentive servers are amazing! Definitely bringing the family here when they come from the way North.
Christmas Eve, 4 pm, 9 adults, 1-two year old. A number of specials were offered. The baked oysters were especially good. The sliced pork special was a little overdone and dry but plentiful. The ragout sauce and base offset porks dryness. I was told the Snapper Veracruz was overcooked as well. Everyone seemed to be happy and served with a bountiful Mexican dish. $500.00 inc tip
I booked a table at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation while I was in Buenos Aires, as I was only staying in Houston for one night. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. However, I found the prices to be a bit high for the overall experience.
Highly recommend restaurant and the staff Jennifer was a really warm and nice host that not only recommend us good food but also the historic story of the restaurant. We order the Del Mar Enchiladas and Fajitas of beef and chicken. Del Mar had a rich flavor of Shrimp, crab and the sauce was really great - though little pricy. Fajita was a classic one and recommend the fried roasted bean with cheese and the green rice - with a great texture! We only have two people and the amount are big for us😆 but the dinner experience was really great!
Delicious Mexican food, fresh and flavorful-- we had enchiladas (chicken mole and seafood), rice, and charro beans, all excellent. I wish the salsa was spicier, but that's a personal preference-- the flavor was very good. We were too full for dessert, so I guess we'll have to go back! The portions were generous, but the price point is a little on the high side for us. That's not a complaint, really, more of a heads up. Service was fabulous. All in all, a wonderful meal!
Chicken fajitas were incredible, some of the most tender chicken I’ve ever had paired with the saltiest yet sweetest onions in the skillet. Unfortunately, the chips came out a bit stale day. Forgot about one of my secret menu item orders, and the rice and beans were lukewarm at best. The food was fantastic. Only concern was the food being slightly colder than it should have been and the kitchen being delayed. Perhaps it was just a byproduct of a busy night, but would definitely be back to try the place again. Someone’s Abuela was definitely cooking that night.
I’ve heard a lot about this place in Houston but it wasn’t up to the level I would expect for a top TexMex. Our server was ok but nothing special for Houston standards. Only came to take our order and bring the food then disappeared and had to be reminded of the beer we ordered. The food was fine and flavor was ok but nothing special. The portion for the medium fajitas was pretty small also. Ambience was ok. Nothing stood out for us really and I think I there are better options given this is more expensive than the norm in Houston. The place was packed and needed a reservation which was surprising. I think it’s just the name and the legacy of the place.
This place is a Houston institution known for the home of fajitas. I have been here a few times of the years. It seems to fall in quality each time. I had a solo mid week lunch. This place always has a good size crowd. It’s very lively and feels like a great TexMex spot. I was seated immediately and the waiter came quickly to take my drink order and provide chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak fajitas. It would be the last time I saw my waiter until I was as finished. The chips are solid. The salsas are ok. The green doesn’t have much flavor. Red was a little better but no heat. Fajitas came out with all the fixings plus beans and rices. The meat was slightly overcooked for my taste but still doable. The flavor was the real problem. It simply lacked seasoning. The tortillas were very good when they were warm. Once they cooled down they became very rigid and my last one broke apart while I was as finishing my fajitas. The kicker is the fajitas are average but they cost $45. That’s not going to cut it. Sadly, I won’t be making anymore stops at Ninfa’s. Luckily, Houston is full of great other options.
I have been in this restaurant couple of times and every time I’ve been in there, the quality of the food taste flavors and portions have dropped price is too high flour tortillas is hard. We have to ask him to go and get the other one chips are too hard.queso Is too salty. Service has become horrible servers with fake smile and only care for tips But cannot provide a good service, even to bring a glass of water. There is no balance flavor Taste spice fajitas are costly not enough overall it has become a horrible restaurant. Much better go outside downtown near Washington. You will find many or maybe in Southwest you will find many hole in the wall which deserve taste price portion between two people. We paid $95. it’s too dark inside not enough light to read the menu
I DO NOT RECOMMEND! When we entered the front staffed just starred, did not even say hello. My Dr.Pepper was extremely flat it tasted like water. I had to ask the server to come over several times for things I needed. He only checked up on me 2 times. No physical kids menu, they just tell you and they don’t tell the price. The kids chicken tenders is 2 pieces of chicken and 3 potato wedges. My son did not like the flavor of the chicken and he is not a picky eater. My Texas combo was not good. The steak, rice and taco were lacking flavor. The taco was greasy. The enchilada was the only thing I enjoyed. For my family of 5 I ended up paying $106. I spend less at Olive Garden. The price is not worth the food. Do Not Go Here!
We ordered bacon wrapped jalapeños for an appetizer. My husband ordered carnita plate. I ordered fajita tostadas. The food tastes good but is overly priced for what you get. I ordered 2 tostadas, they were big and full but most of it was lettuce and just a few pieces of meat. We asked for pork rinds since we eat low carb. We were given a small bowl with about 6 pieces and charged $4. They were stale. I went there over 20 years ago and hadn't been back because I thought they were over priced and the food wasn't all that. I gave them another try.....still over priced. I will say the flavor is way better but not worth the little food for the price.

Ninfa's on Navigation: Houston's Enduring Tex-Mex Heartbeat
Whenever folks ask me about classic Houston Tex-Mex, Ninfa's on Navigation inevitably comes up. It's got a legacy, a real cornerstone of our city's food scene, and for good reason. Now, full disclosure, it’s a popular spot – expect it to be packed, and yes, a reservation is often a smart move, even on what you might think is an off-peak day. But for many, the buzz is part of the charm. The food here definitely has its shining moments. You simply have to try the Tejanas; I've heard them describ
