Opinions de Ninja Ramen Houston
Such a creative yet fun little ramen house to be in! The ramen is great, the drinks are crafted nicely, and the atmosphere gives you that "I wanna live in Japan right now" feel to it! Totally a place worth visiting by after an awesome night with friends! 🍻🍜
I have loved Ninja for so many years, it is so sad it is closing. I love ramen and this is truly the most flavorful I’ve tried! The vibes are so fun too! I’m not big on alcohol but the couple drinks I’ve tried were good! I hope they open another spot for ramen someday! It will be such a loss to my tastebuds 😭
I was enticed to visit with my daughter this evening when I heard the bar was filled with snow, and I'm glad I did! Our server was so attentive and sweet even though she was clearly busy. The seared chasu chunks and marinated bamboo were unique and tasty features in the ramen. The atmosphere was cozy and festive. Thanks for the memory, Ninja Ramen!
Nice little place with great simple ramen. Unfortunately they are planning to close by the end of December so I recommend going before it's too late!
Went in for one last visit before they close and glad that I did. This place has been a staple in Houston for late night ramen and Japanese whiskey for many years. The menu is simple, only 3 different ramen variations(even a broth less one), but expertly crafted and the service is great. Friendly, warm, inviting, and fun. The building is unassuming on the outside, but gives a cool street dojo feel on the inside. The owner is super involved with everything, but is sure to stop by to say hello and make you feel welcomed. It's a fun, quirky, and unique place. It'll be missed, so get over there and experience it for yourself before time runs out.
IYKYK, great vibes, great people, great ramen. One of my favorite ramens ever. The marinated egg is chefs kiss along with the smokiest pork belly ramen. Just order the spicy miso Cadillac and call it a night.
This place was great!! super cozy environment and great staff. There was music and anime playing as well. Clint was super kind and welcoming. The food was really good and filling. The ramen i got was buttery and the noodles were perfect. Prices were good too. Definetly my favorite spot i visited while in Houston. I can’t wait to come again! Great spot to go with friends.
Ninja Ramen has been one of the greatest ramen spots that I always go to! My usual go to bowl is the Spicy Misou Ramen Bowl. The pork is nicely cooked and chewy with a great taste. The Ramen itself has a flavorful taste with a great broth that only makes more delicious! Chris, the owner, gives great service when he’s around! The bartenders make one of the best drinks and the whiskey is top notch! I highly recommend giving this ramen spot a try, and I consider this place one of the best ramen spot in Houston!
The waiter was extremely prompt and nice! Overall the service here was great, it wasn’t busy (8pm on a Saturday) and it felt great to have almost the whole place to ourselves. I ordered the Mockery (cocktail) and the Aburamen. The cocktail was an amazing surprise. I have family in Illinois and as a malort based drink I have never had it mixed into a cocktail before! It was very limey and masked the usual taste of malort 😜 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also loved the aburamen, while it is broth less I felt the noodles were sufficiently seasoned and the flavors were great. I will return!
I came here with my boyfriend for the snow event. It was super festive and an overall a cute place. We sat at a table, it took a while for the server to get to us so we needed up moving to the bar. From then on the bartenders took care of us. The drinks were amazing!!!! The ramen was very good!!!! It had a lot of pork belly in there! Overall the experience was well! Will be coming back!
Found this place by recommendation of a local and previous employee. I originally came to visit the day of the snow-- but it was overwhelming, so I left and returned today. Had the original pork belly ramen for dinner on my way out of town, did not disappoint. The bartender Alex was extremely accommodating and friendly, even went out of his way to help with parking. I'd recommend paying for valet parking or Uber, as I did end up getting a parking violation (that's on me) as parking in the Heights can be quite tricky-- but it was worth finally getting to check out the place. Alex is the only reason I stayed and wanted to try the place out. The ramen is fresh, authentic, good, genuine food pork belly ramen. Some of the best ramen I've had in Houston, I travel frequently so I always appreciate a good bowl of fresh ramen. The vibes from one of the staff members was extremely weird, I walked up and he smoking while on duty IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT-- unless he's the owner, that's weird and against TABC but considering the conversation he had with me, I doubt he was. This particular member even told me to park at a tow away zone-- wouldn't be surprised if he was on something, you could just tell this dude was wired on something. He couldn't make coherent words or phrases. If it weren't for Alex & the Chef, I would have left. But, regardless of how uncomfortable that staff made me feel, I decided to stay since I was there for the food not the people. It's worth making the drive to check out this hole in the wall. I was even excited because they had a fairly large selection of Asian whiskey, would have tried it if I weren’t driving. I often find if great restaurants can conquer the simple meals, they can conquer more elaborate ones. Definitely will return if the road brings me back to Houston.
One of the nicest place to grab a bite and drink. Staff is attentive and nice. The bartender, Alex, makes amazing cocktails. And the Chef, Khua, makes delicious ramen. Very relaxing and cozy environment. If you're a whiskey lover, Ninja Ramen has the largest selection of Asian whiskey in America. This is an amazing place to make your weekly (or daily) favorite.
We keep coming back! Friendly neighborhood bar with a very unique and expertly crafted cocktail menu. The drinks are so good, you forget you are there for some of the city's best ramen. There aren't a lot of choices in ramen, but you can't go wrong with any. Great umami and depth of flavor, and always a free noodle refill! Bartenders are super nice and knowledgeable. If they were open for lunch it would be a 10/10
Good for a drunk late night stop, wouldn't be my first choice for during the day when you have real options. Doesn't have a real tonkotsu richness to it. Pork belly is chopped up and way overcooked. Egg was great however. Menu is adorable, very punny, and our bartender was really nice. Would be a nice place to hang out for a drink probably.
Food was ok. Friendly service. Socially distanced seating. We came here because the reviews were good but we left a little disappointed. The spam was pre-cooked and not hot, usually when we order this it’s cooked fresh, so that was a little disappointing. Also the ramen was ok. It wasn’t as flavorful as we had hoped. Their marinated egg was great though.
I can’t give 1 star across the board because I do have fond memories of this place when I was in my 20s. I went recently at 33 and maybe because I went sober and alone, it didn’t have as a great of an experience as I’m remember. Bar staff started off pretty rude, bluntly explaining that there were only two types of ramen available on Mondays and they were not fully stocked with the ingredients for their cocktail menu. Overall, really disappointing this time around. If I had any questions about why they were closing, they’ve been answered.
The vibes and staff are amazing. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the food. The ramen is stale, salty, and just not good. I understand it may be a late night spot for people that are drunk but it was just nasty. Made our stomachs hurt. The staff were so sweet and kind and the atmosphere was 10/10 but the food wasn’t a great. I wish they would pay more attention to the quality of food they are serving customers.
