Opinions de Perry's Steakhouse and Grille Houston
The place is nice and elegant, the service is good and friendly, we have to send back the potatoes because they were cold, but they fixed the problem immediately, the chop wasn't super-hot. But in general very good food and service.
The audacity!! The pure audacity to serve a full-on smorgasbord of meats—each one so tender, so flavorful, so finger-lickin’ disrespectful, I almost lost my composure. From the "slap-yo-mama" shrimp to the fall-off-the-bone Wagyu, from the steak that whispered to my soul to those lamb chops smothered in applesauce—excuse me, Perry’s, who gave y’all permission? Where on this planet did you find the audacity to create food like this? I tried to play it smart—I ate before I came, thinking I wouldn’t act like a fool. Thought I’d sip my drink, soak up the ambiance, enjoy a civilized evening. But noooo. Perry’s said “nah.” God Himself made me eat that food. I was compelled. I didn’t just need a taste—I needed my own plate, my own platter, maybe even a to-go box for my pride. Y’all embarrassed me. How dare you. No—how double dog dare you, Timmy. I came for vibes. I left spiritually changed. 10/10 — would sell my dignity again. Five stars, and a sixth if y’all ever open on Mars.
I brought my mom here for her birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. Our server Danielle was so attentive and offered great recommendations. The cocktail I had was so delicious and the desert my mom had the cheesecake was so worth it.
Pork chop is my specialty entree. First time seating upstairs. Very nice and cozy and not as loud. Ambiance was great. We ordered salads, pork chop, Brussel sprouts and cheesecake. Salads are always so good. When we got the pork chop delivered to our table we were still waiting for our Brussel sprouts. The waiter came by to see if everything was OK. I informed him we were still waiting for the other dish. He returned and said he was sorry that they had run out. We went to dinner at 5:40 pm on Sunday. This was the first time we were aware of this. Wish I was informed right away. Food is always great and we are return customers. This slip up was a first.
Had a private wedding/dinner reception last night and everything went so smooth! Desiree is the person to call to plan your private events and she did amazing with all of my questions and requests and keeping me updated throughout the process. Jacob was our server throughout the night and he was very professional and attentive. Any requests we had he was already on top of it. My party and I were beyond pleased with our overall experience!
My boyfriend and I came for my birthday and we had the absolute pleasure of being serviced by Angela. Angela’s customer service was the best we’d experienced in a while. In that, we frequent Brennan’s, Vic & Anthony, Eddie V’s etc. (which also tend to have impeccable service) Angela’s service felt individualized. Not to mention the flavorful food, smooth yet strong drinks, cognizance of when to check in (by Angela of course). We will definitely add Perry’s Westheimer location to our repertoire and specifically ask for Angela when we visit. Thank you so much!!
i never order spinach dip outside of houston's because i'm always disappointed. houston's has been the best. for whatever reason i tried perry's spinach dip. hate to say it, but perry's was also very good, dare i say better. perry's food has never disappointed and they have great deals. while sitting at the bar, the attentiveness and engagement of artemio, the asst gm, added that much more pleasure to our dining experience. while remaining professional, he was also personable and had good recommendations.
Outstanding. Both with food and service. Our server said his name thrice and I still cannot for the life of me remember his name (Montez? Marquess?) but he made the whole experience so much more than just a fancy sit down place. He was knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely caring. NY steak was cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes were excellent, the asparagus delicious as was the butternut squash soup/mash. Wasn’t impressed by the steak bites but they were still yum. Their current cheesecake special is pumpkin and it is (by a long shot) the best one I’ve ever had. Will come back here whenever the wallet allows ✨
Visiting Austin for a weekend, and choose Perry’s for a Saturday night dinner. It was an absolute 10/10 experience. Our sever - Chris - was an absolute delight, he definitely made the experience even better. Food was amazing, every drink we had was even better than the last. Our server took care of us in every way & made it such a remarkable night. If you're in Austin and want a great night, go to Perry’s and ask for Chris, you will leave highly pleased.
When in Houston, Perry’s steak house is one of the staple steak houses to go. As always, the decor and staff were exquisite, but it was our waiter, Gaven, and the food that truly made the evening exceptional. Gaven was professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to recommend the perfect wine pairing for our steaks and made sure every part of our meal was exactly how we wanted it. We had the lobster bisque, artichoke soup, and salads for our appetizer. The soups were rich and the salads were delicious. For entries we had the cowboy ribeye, New York steak, bone-out rib eye, and ahi tuna steak. The steaks were cooked to perfections with the right amount of seasoning. You can never go wrong with their steaks. As for the Ahi tuna with brown rice, pickles, and cabbage it was all a perfect arrangement which complemented each other. In fact, it was one of the best ahi tuna steaks I have had with a tender center and perfectly seasoned outer crust. For dessert we had the chocolate tower, lemon bar, and orange cheesecake. All were not too sweet which is how my family prefers. The chocolate dessert was like a tower of frozen Ferrero Rocher chocolate cubes with tiny whipped cream florets on every crevice. So decadent and icy. The lemon bar had a toasted meringue that was so delicious and start, a perfect dessert with tea. And the orange cheesecake was a very unique taste of delicious cheesecake with an orange flavor gelatin or icy texture. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale but comfortable, with just the right lighting and background music to set the mood for a relaxed dinner. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Huge thanks to Gave again for making it feel special.
Had dinner with my family this evening and it will definitely be one for the books. Ricky was our server this evening and did an amazing job. Angela as well made sure we were in great hands this evening. Everything was excellent. The potatoes au gratin were the best I have ever savored! They definitely left an impression on me this evening and I will be back! Thank you Perry’s! :)
I recently dined at Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille in Houston, FL, and had a truly exceptional experience—thanks in large part to our server, Ashlie. From the service at valet to our entrance, we felt extremely welcomed by the smiles as well as a personal greet and seat choice by the manager. Ashlie's professionalism, attentiveness, and warm demeanor stood out from the moment we were seated. Ashlie was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our meal. She anticipated our needs without being intrusive and ensured every detail was perfect. It’s rare to receive this level of service, and she absolutely made our evening feel special. Perry’s seems known for its high-quality food and atmosphere, but Ashlie’s outstanding service is what will bring us back. Highly recommend requesting her if you want a top-tier dining experience
A group of 8 ladies were celebrating three of their birthdays. Our experience from the time we arrived was very attentive. After being escorted to our table we met our server Jackie, who was AWESOME! Her sense of humor & attention to detail from hearing our conversations were the best. Then our food came, it was magnificent from the turtle gumbo to those huge mouthwatering pork chops! We also appreciated the dining service manager coming by to check on us & to find out how we were enjoying ourselves! Our superb meal ended with complimentary plates of dessert tarts being brought out to the birthday girls that they shared with the rest of us…… they were scrumptious! Perry’s staff made our celebration such a lovely experience!
My son took my wife and me for my 60th birthday dinner tonight. Arthur (manager) greeted us and helped seat us for dinner. Our waitress was Dolly and was extremely helpful and very attentive. I had the pork chop which was amazing. My wife had the symphony kabob with lobster, shrimp and steak and my son had a fillet mignon. We had loaded mashed, mac n cheese and steak fries with truffle oil as our sides. Wowza it was ok so good. Steak was medium rare and cooked to perfection. All sides were amazing and we all had our fill. They comped my dessert which was cheesecake and my wife had the chocolate tower which she described as a tower of Ferrero Rocher. Our waitress helped us with each course and was very attentive through our meal. I highly recommend this place! Great food and service!
Y’all !!! Before I go into details, yes yes yes. This place is a must try !!!! So a friend and I visited one hour before they closed on a Tuesday for her birthday and the experience was still impeccable ! For the starter, we got the chargrilled blue point oysters. I am someone who loves oysters and have had some really good oysters, but these were some of the best that I have had in my life. The flavor profile was very complex. I will order the oysters every time I come. For the entree, I got the prime ribeye prepared Oscar style ( topped with jumbo lump crab, Bearnaise sauce, and asparagus) and the loaded whipped potatoes. Not only was my steak cooked perfectly but it was seasoned perfectly. Typically steak houses season their steaks minimally, but this was not the case at Perry’s. It was seasoned very well. The sides are enough for two people, so keep that in mind. I got a mango fizz soda for my drink and it was very refreshing. I can’t wait to come back again !!
Every year in July, Perry’s Steakhouse offers an anniversary special. Normally, we go to the Memorial location, but this time we tried the River Oaks location, and I must say, I prefer it much more. It’s smaller and more intimate compared to the Memorial location, which tends to be crowded and busy. However, I’m not a fan of the low lighting typical of fine dining restaurants—I prefer to see my food clearly. When we sat down, there was a bit of confusion about our waiter, as several staff members made eye contact but didn’t approach us. Eventually, Josh, our server, introduced himself. He was attentive and knowledgeable about our allergies—mine to nuts and my friend’s to mushrooms. He reassured us about what we could and couldn’t eat, which was reassuring. The night manager also came over to discuss our allergies, emphasizing their seriousness and informing us about potential cross-contamination risks, like the pecans fried in the same oil as the tater tots. This attention to detail showed their commitment to accommodating allergy-sensitive diners, which we appreciated. However, this will likely be my last time participating in Perry’s anniversary four-course dinner special. Unless you’re getting the famous pork chop, it’s not really worth it. The main course doesn’t include any sides, just a protein, and the portion size is quite small. If I return to Perry’s, it will be solely for their regular menu offerings. Upon arrival, we opted for valet parking at $10, and parking in the lot was paid at $2.50 for two hours. I also mentioned it was my friend’s birthday upon arrival, and the hostess kindly surprised her with a birthday card at our table. It was a thoughtful touch that made our visit even more enjoyable.
This is a great place to eat on occasion. The food is fantastic and the service was outstanding. My only minor complaint is that the cost it’s pretty significant for what you get. It’s slightly bothersome that there is parking in the back that is blocked off because they want to encourage their valet parking. I give it four stars because I think there are other places to get just as good of a meal for half the cost. If money it is of no consideration, then this may be your spot.
We came for the Thanksgiving package and unfortunately the experience was pretty disappointing. It took a long time just to get our reserved table, even though several tables were clearly empty. Our waitress was really overwhelmed, and it seemed like they were very short-staffed overall. While we were still eating our appetizer, they brought out our main dishes; and the drinks didn’t arrive until after the appetizer. The food itself was messy (just like in the picture I took) and the taste was honestly not what we expected for a holiday meal. To be fair, the soup, salad, and pumpkin dessert were good, but everything else fell short. I hope they could mange their service flow and food quality, especially on special occasions like Thanksgiving.
I've been to many great Perry's, but this was a miss. Lunch cut portion is half the typical size. Salmon wasn't remarkable. Upper choice ribeye was quite tough. Caramelized prime rib, even at its price, wasn't worth it. Both steaks were quite on the small side. I was too soured by the experience to order their bread pudding.
To summarize: poor quality and salty! I don’t know how they obtained 4.4 rating on google but sure they don’t deserve it. We were party of nine and all agreed that food was too salty and poor quality. The complementary bread and butter can tell a lot about a restaurant. Their bread was HEB or Kroger white flaky bread!! For god sake you can at least use a little better bread for sake of appearance. They don’t deserve more than 2 star. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
I was taken here for my birthday. The most forgettable/unforgettable birthday dinner of my life. I ordered surf and turf and it wasn’t edible. The lobster tail and steak looked sloppy and had all this horrible seasoning and sauce on it. I’ll never understand why a restaurant would just slap seasoning and sauce on quality food (unless it’s not quality). The waitress noticed I had only taken a couple of bites and suggested a different steak. It was as gross as the first one. I didn’t eat that night. Anytime someone mentions Perry’s I frown in disgust. I’m frowning as I’m writing. Worst birthday dinner in my life. Forever dissatisfied, disappointed, and disgusted. The wait staff were great, which eased the birthday blues.
The food as usual is very delicious. What caught my attention is the attitude. Even at Walmart all customers are greeted warmly but the way we were welcomed on the way in and out was totallybelow the expected. Very rude reception. My perception of Perry's is better than what we experienced especially I take all my clients there at least once a week Advice to management: Educate and encourage your staff to be more welcoming. It does not cost money to be nice. Promote "smile is free attitude" Promote "be kind and nice to others" Most importantly inform the restaurant staff that customers are who make any business successful. Without customers no business can sustain and prosper.
