This place was jam packed on a Sunday mid morning but the line goes fast and orders are up pretty quick. Bagels are pretty solid and the selection of toppings is large! Really liked their honey walnut spread. And I love that you can buy them in 2 oz, 4 oz or 8 oz containers. Pizzas are nice as well as the mini pigs in a blanket! So many bags of them flying out of the store!

The Hot Bagel Shop delivers again. Five stars for the wow factor - bagel freshness and variety of flavors all made right there. Plus the bagel bites, kolaches, pizzas and sandwiches including breakfast ones also are worth a try. This bagel shop opens early and has parking in front of the shop. There’s indoor seating and some customers go just for the coffee (though haven’t tried it myself). There are bagel chips for sale to go as well as bakers dozen that come with freezer bags and cream cheese / spreads. Can speak for the baked items and sandwiches and highly recommend!! A must in Houston.

Everything was great! I really enjoyed it! The bagel wrapped kosher sausage was crispy and the sausage was flavorful. The bacon egg and cheese on onion garlic was crispy. The bacon was real well done but not bad. Tricky location to spot as it has a low profile and does not have a lot of parking.

I was working (Uber) so I decided to take a break. Had bagel on the brain. Normally, I would go to the franchised establishment. Decided to spend the wheel of uncertainty and try a new place. Didn’t realize there was a hidden gem in River Oaks! You will need your GPS and both eyes to find this place for it sits in the bottom corner of a commercial office strip therefore you blink you might miss it. The inside of the place gives off small deli ambiance. Like the service! The staff is young, quick and about the customer! That wait wasn’t but 5 minutes after my order? Ever with getting help with the menu. Now for the haul: Jalapeño Bagel with Lox Smear Jalapeño Bagel Dog Loved that big bagel! What really made it worth it was the heavy spread of that savory smear. Very creamy! Wish there would have been more of that spicy jalapeño bite in the bagel, but that’s ok. The Bagel Dog was good. Loved the flavor of the sausage inside the bread and although I’m used to kolaches being soft, I had to remind myself this wasn’t that. Oh and the mustard that came in the bag was a excellent pairing. This is a great place to come for a inexpensive quick bite for breakfast or lunch. There are plenty of items for anyone to try and make their favorites.

The Hot Bagel Shop is one of my longtime Houston favorites. Love the bagels and assortment of cream cheeses. My favorite is cinnamon raisin; today I tried the homemade cinnamon cream cheese. One word - 😋! I’ve not had the kolaches, pizza, breakfast and lunch sandwiches but they look delicious! I’ll have to try those next time. Compared to a popular bagel chain, these folks are welcoming, efficient and so kind. There’s always a line but it goes fast. If bagels are your thing, give them a try!

Great little local bagel shop! Glad I found it. Will definitely be back. Only reason didn’t give 5 stars is the cream cheese could have been a bit better quality and texture.

This place has fantastic bagels which, having experience with the East coast bagels, is saying a lot. The selection and quality are impressive, which one wouldn't guess from the outward appearance of the place. The shop itself looks a bit unkempt, and is matched by the location optics, but the staff are super nice and the food was great. Don't be put off by the appearance, they'll convince you if you try it.

I won’t lie and say the bagels/kolaches are bad, because they’re not. They’re amazing. HOWEVER, does it make sense that even if there’s 3 customers in the restaurant total and 6 workers, that the bagels consistently take 20+ minutes to come out, and then the kolaches are cold? I wouldn’t say so. Recommend this place only if you have an extra hour to spare before work, because if not, you’re definitely going to be late.

Stopped by after seeing the very positive Google reviews. Got excited walking in since a lot of people were waiting for their bagels… but honestly, nothing special. We tried a bagel sandwich plus plain and onion bagels to compare, and all were pretty disappointing. Not sure how they got such strong ratings. flavors and texture need some work. The hype didn’t match the taste.

This is just sad. Almost $7 for such a disappointment. Where’s the cream cheese? 95% bread 5% cream cheese. If this is what you like…by all means, to each their own. I was looking forward to a good bagel and got to work upset. Please do better. This was my first time here and happily my last.

It’s ironic this place is called “The Hot Bagel Shop” because after waiting 15 minutes for a bagel sandwich, I received what might be the coldest bagel in recorded history (and yes, I ate it inside the restaurant). The bagel itself was clearly auditioning for a second career as a dog chew toy (stale, tough, and joyless). The sandwich came complete with bacon that had been drying out under a heat lamp for what I can only assume was 4/5 hours, paired with refrigerator-chilled cheese that sat there defiantly un-melted. Easily the nastiest bagel sandwich I’ve ever attempted to eat.

Bagels taste like the ones you get from the grocery store, nothing special. No music nor a welcoming environment its kinda stale like the DMV. This is also a CASHLESS business, although they don't mention it until after you've waited in line and made your order. Smh. They will happily accept their tips in cash though so i guess as long as its convenient for them then you can use cash however the customers convenience doesn't matter there. The service was quick otherwise so for quick uneventful bite maybe but definitely not worth a second visit.
