Great food and even more amazing staff!!! 10/10!! Bring your friends.
One of the best bars around. Great drinks and food at good prices. They have a pool table and darts. Outdoor seating is also nice and ofcourse there is a porch swing.
Great place with amazing staff and tasty food. Wednesday trivia is fun with diverse topics. Overall amazing for large groups or small groups.
Sweet potato fries are the bomb, literally! The wings are legit. Vibe is cool. They played Jay Z most the Night. so, yeah! Highly recommend!
Great bar food great service great prices love going here
Porch swing is our favorite neighborhood pub. Ashley, John, Sam, Hami, and Ralphy are always great hosts! The Buffalo chicken sandwich is my favorite. Trivia is always a blast and don't forget Monday night 50 cent wings! Wash it down with a summer screw and you're all set.
Food is great, christmas drinks are delicious & reasonably priced! The pop up Christmas decor is so festive and fun- Perfect for photos!
I've liked this place since the first time my husband brought me. Try a frozen moon. They are so good. Food is good also. I haven't had a bad experience yet!
Love this lil bar. Food is always so good and service is on point. Good for date night or just hanging with your friends. Plus pet friendly!!!
Monday night wing special is the booomb! The wings are DELICIOUS and Sam always takes care of my wife and I the staff is super cool and friendly ! We are def some weekly Monday regulars!
Always good times at Porch swing. The patio is dog friendly and there are plenty of tv's. It's a friendly place to hang on a week night or watch football on the weekends.
I drive by this place almost everyday. We decided to visit last weekend (Jan 2018). The bartender and waitresses were super cool...they are the reason I'm giving this place a 5 star. The interior is just a regular bar and the location can be noisy when sitting outside. But again the staff was stellar.
Really cool neighborhood bar. Big porch area so during summer and crawfish season it gets pretty packed. The wait staff is very friendly and really makes the environment. I have gone for several years and the wait staff will remember you and drinks. Perfect place if you are looking to go out and just have a chill night with friends or watch some sports on the several tvs that they have. They also have Trivia night on Wednesday and usually brings in a big crowd.
Have been here twice now, and was pretty happy both times. The service is good and the staff is friendly. Menu has a good selection, the food is tasty, and the prices are good. Atmosphere is has been pretty casual and laid back, and we will definitely go back if we are in the area!
Ashley is my favorite bartender, she makes amazing drinks! The food is always perfect and the staff are always friendly and helpful. My favorite casual hangout spot in the city!
A great place to go for drinks. Mondays are . 35 cent wings and 3 dollar domestics! Honestly even if they didn't have 35 cent wings I'd still come here because they have a really solid menu and the staff is all really chill.
Great place to hang out with friends. Watched a playoff game, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was top-notch. Definitely recommend coming here and hanging out.
Great little locals place. Very welcoming and friendly people. Great food. Non-smoking.
This is a nice little place to get a few drinks and some pub grub. The service is good and the servers are usually friendly.
Came here with a friend on a Wednesday night for happy hour and we stayed for the Trivia-which we bombed! But it was a fun environment for she and I to laugh at each other and drink some beer and eat food :) would be cool if they had more than one porch swing though 🤔
Great place to hang out with good people...Overall the people there seems very laid back and has a cozy feel to it. The place is clean and the restrooms are clean as well.Drinks were made good and the bar tender was very nice. This is a great place and I will be back.....
By far the best wings, the staff are so cool and chill. Always greets and treat you like family. Started coming last year and have been a regular since. They really changed my mind about wings and turned me into a fan. Nice flavor and it’s so crispy 😍🤌🏼
This pub is like the 80's sitcom show called "Cheers". All the servers know what we drink, how we order pizza, our wing flavors and we never wait. The atmosphere is very relaxing. They have bingo and other games that are played during the week. Christmas time is awesome, they have photo opps.Great hangout spot.
We enjoyed this place. They have a fairly large patio (and allow dogs on it) and large indoor area. We were there around 8 on a Friday night and it was pretty low key. They have quite a few TVs outside and we watched the baseball game. We had a burger and a sandwich, food was good.
We went here for the Christmas pop up they had here. The place had an awesome trivia game (they have trivia twice a week normally) and the beer and food was delicious. I want to go back to try different beers and eat and entree as the picked chips and sweet potato fries were delicious
Love, love, love this place! Great outdoor patio where you can relax and enjoy a few drinks with friends and even better your furry four legged friends. I absolutely love that this place is dog friendly. I have a fairly huge dog for him to only be 10 months and it's awesome that I was able to take him with me. The waitresses offer bowls of water for them and everyone there were very welcoming! Think I've found a new place to hang out!
We had a great first impression of Porch Swing Pub. We have been trying out dog friendly restaurants with our puppy, and we had a great experience here. The outdoor patio is spacious and covered. The staff was very friendly and brought our pup a bowl of water. The food was delicious. We will definitely visit again in the future.
This is one of my favorites from way back. It has such a great atmosphere for hanging out watching the game, or a get together with the whole group. The food is great and the drinks are better. If you go here you have to try the Frozen moon, it's the staple here and the original. The crowd here is going professional, so it's always laid back with no drama. 5 stars
Awesome little pub that you may drive right past if you didn’t know what it was, but you shouldn’t! The food is great, especially wings and pizza, and the atmosphere is awesome.
I come here usually to have a drink while getting my car washed. Came in today and Johnny (maybe spelled differently) was amazing. I couldn’t decide what app to order and she made it fun and flipped a coin, then she brought me a sample of the other option anyway. She was very attentive and the first person I’ve wholly interacted with. I run bars, so this level of attention in a bartender is priceless. 5 stars.
been coming here for a few years now and I always get great waiters with great personalities and I highly recommend everyone to go here for a beer. also they have the best hot wings in Houston and an amazing signature drink, the summer skrew. the atmosphere is very laid back and I will keep going back.
It's family friendly! I'm glad I found a bar/ restaurant near home where I can eat a good meal, have good drinks, able to bring my family and able to watch a game or match. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. There is a ping pong table and swing seats for a little enjoyment and interesting seating. I'm definitely coming back with family.
The waitresses were on point with the service. The moondrivers were awesome! There is also a nice selection of craft beer. The patio makes for a nice hangout spot on a cool and sunny day. Dogs are welcome, and there's even water bowls in the patio area. Overall, it's a great spot to hang out with friends and family.
I love this place! Very laid back. They've got a few TVs outside and some more inside. I'm kind of a homebody and I'll come here even if I don't feel like going out because this place just feels homey. The food I've had has all been slightly better than I'd expect from pub food, so that's a plus. Also, I came here once by myself, right after a 5k color run to catch the end of an Astros game. I was still sweaty and likely leaving a trail of colored corn starch even though I had tried to shake off as best I could. The bartender didn't say a word when she saw my outfit and some other patrons and I even got to talking about the game. Just an extremely chill vibe here that I love.
Fun bar with good outdoor seating and TVs for watching sports. Always have a good beer selection with local and popular beers on tap even though there are limited options. Good about rotating what is on tap. Service is good and food is bar food but good bar food / fair priced. Very casual and great place for trivia night or MNF
As a Philadelphia native the CheeseSteaks are legit! Great food, great service, great beer and great prices Next to a moderately busy road, can still have a good private conversation and the music is present but not obnoxiously laud
What an amazing place ! Everything was perfect, the service, the drinks, and garage a bites.
Sarah is an amazing bartender and welcomes you into the bar with great energy. Excellent service overall and a great atmosphere.
I've been coming here for years, especially on Monday, for their wings. Their wings are 🔥 happy hour special and good too. They have everyday life. I love stopping by when I am on a bike ride as well. They are bike friendly and pet friendly outside, of course. The staff and service is always 👌 I definitely recommend this spot for gatherings and just hanging out..
We generally go on Wednesday Steak Night and the steak is very very good and it comes with a potato.. the drinks are also very nice.. but I do think that Steak night and trivia night should be on different days.. maybe more people would show up for Steak Night.. but overall it was a nice night out with friends..
Stopped by for the pop up Christmas bar and had a nice time decorating cookies and hanging out. Every inch of the pub was decorated and there were several Instagram ops within the bar. Santa stopped by our table to say hello and as luck would have it, he had gone to the same high school as a friend at the table. After a stroll down memory lane, we ordered a scotch on the rocks for old St Nick and toasted Christmas.
Dogs are allowed on the patio. Booze is cheap and plentiful. Great bar staff. All kinds of gaming tournaments on the televisions. (While I was there they were showing an Astros game and an Overwatch tournament.) Bar food is standard, delicious, and reasonably priced. Overall, a good choice. Parking can be difficult so get there early.
This is a fun neighborhood bar which is in anything but a neighborhood. Tip: You can take your car next door and get a carwash and grab a beer at Front Porch while you wait! Porch Swing has pretty good parking and a great beer list. It is just like it's sister property, Front Porch Pub in midtown, but bigger and a bit more convenient.
Always spot on with their wings. Trivia is one of the best in Houston and busy! They offer steak night the same night as trivia. Bartenders are some of the most coolest and Kick-Ass in Houston!!
Trivia nights are Wednesday but go early for a good seat. Some of the tv's don't work, that's always disappointing. Ok bar food, I stay safe with the chicken tenders. Food pours and lots of options.
Overall a pretty chill place. Good food service was on par. Plenty of tvs to watch multiple games. I would recommend trying it out.
I think it's a good pub. It had really affordable (astonishingly so) food options, as well as a good selection of beer. I went on a trivia night with some people and my girlfriend and had a good time. I usually dont like pubs too much, but would consider coming here again another trivia night for sure.
Love the chill atmosphere of Porch Swing Pub. Drinks are neither cheap nor expensive. They've got tasty burgers. There seems to be some pretty high turnover with the waitresses...most are mediocre at best, but Max is awesome. We always try to sit in her section!
The drinks were absolutely delicious and the food was average. The service was extremely friendly, but slow. The place has a great setup for TVs, comfortable seats, and a good feel inside.
Happy hour prices where good, bartender made us some Micheladas they were good. Also had a nice pool table , loved the decor in the lady restroom. Most likely I'm be back agian
Went here on a Wednesday night for trivia night.. very chill vibes. The bartenders were awesome and the food was good. I got the fried pickles and the steak special. Fun way to spend a Wednesday night.
I had a philly cheesesteak add mushrooms, with fries. The sandwich was really good. The fries tasted like old fish. They have decent range of craft beer, decent prices.
*Dog Friendly Patio* So far ok. Waiting on food to see if we can add the other star. We’ve had sh*tty service from other places all week and the bartender forgot our order BUT he admitted his mistake. It’s all good. At this point we’re used to it :0/
Came for the 35¢ wings they have on mondays. Service was a tad bit slow and the wings weren’t AMAZING but had a good experience overall. Outside can get hot during summers but it’s a good place to watch a game or hang out with friends.
you can bring your dog here. the food is pretty good. the service is always hit or miss. my favorite thing is the hippie melt [no meat] and sweet potato fries.
The bartender was phenomenal, super friendly and helpful. The food was over priced for the quality. We would definitely come back with our dogs for a beer but eat somewhere else.
We visit to watch sports n hangout. Love the atmosphere and service. The food n cocktails are pretty good n fairly priced.
Our waitress Ashley was very attentive and patient with our company gathering. Try the mule drinks here, they are very delicious and refreshing! Nice atmosphere. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because parking needs attention. Too many pot holes and broken concrete. Had to be careful where you parked and where to step.
The specialty drinks for the Christmas season looked amazing. The holiday decorations throughout the pub are fantastic. The staff works really hard to keep up with the demanding crowd 🙂... they did a great job for us.
Don’t leave anything in your car. The sign is not kidding. We had two cars smashed into into within 20 minutes of arriving and all before 8:30pm. Loved the pub, the staff, and everything, just save yourself the trouble and come with an empty car.
I really want to praise the service- it was excellent. Our server (female) and the gentleman who bought out the food were very friendly, warm and attentive despite our really large party and the pub being full. The quizmaster was also very friendly. Overall made for a very enjoyable night. Our steak was very tasty too and worth the $20
We really enjoyed this place and so did our pup. Service was fantastic.
Had a great time here. The food was great, the drinks were good, and it was not too busy midday. There was a downer for me, though. It wasn't that the waitress was by herself, so it took over 30 minutes to get the check and another 10 minutes to pay. It was the fact that they allowed customers to bring dogs inside. I could see maybe if they didn't have a covered patio. But, I would never bring my dog inside where people are sitting down to eat. It is their choice, so I respect it. I just won't be returning for that reason. The food was pretty good, though.
I visited during Santa's Tavern experience and actually had a good time. The Christmas decorations were elaborate and obviously took quite an effort to get done. I liked the creative cocktails on the menu which had names influenced by the holiday season. On this visit, I had the slay all day cocktail and enjoyed it. If you're looking for a bar with a Christmas vibe, this should definitely be on your list.
Drinks were good, but the portions we got on the spinach dip and fried pickles were tiny! Definitely not for sharing like most starters are
Been here once. And it was ok. Very chill and relaxed place. Had some nice drink specials. The food wasn't that bad. But will I ever go back? Probably not.
It's ok. Convenient for the neighborhood. The welcome to dogs is a plus. The food is typical bar food, with nothing exceptional. The local craft beer selection is good but not exceptional. The front porch is a good addition to the neighborhood. Service is good, not exceptional. Music can be annoying.
Lots of seating outside, wouldn't really go there to sit inside. Good place to go and have a beverage when dropping off your car next door to get washed. Food is ok. Dog friendly so that's a plus!
I love this place! Mostly bc I can walk there and the grill is open until 1am. The chicken sandwich is sometimes amazing and sometimes dry, but I keep ordering it bc sometimes it's amazing. Also helps if you add bacon, but it gets dry when they have to cook the bacon. I have mixed feelings...
Went there with a couple of friends. Actually, there were six of us. Outside it didn't look like there was too much space for all of us at one table. All the tables seemed to be the same size. There was a crawfish boil going on which smelled good. Since we were forced to sit inside we missed out on the porch atmosphere. Plus, it was pretty dead inside. Apart from us there was a total of four other people at the bar. The jukebox doesn't play all the time, so if you put money in the box, make sure you ask them to switch it over. Our waitress was not very attentive. I already finished my drink and was waiting another ten minutes before asking her for another. She didn't seem to well versed with what liquor was behind the bar either. My friends also had to wait longer for drinks because she took my order, but didn't ask them for theirs. I wish I could remember her name to warn others. If you go, just be weary. There is also a sign on the door that says "No Children after 8 P.M." It's a bit weird for me to see that, but try it out at your own risk. I may or may not come back.
Honestly, pretty average bar. Nothing too special. We came tonight to watch the world series and they were trying to do trivia over the speakers of the baseball game. Beer choice was pretty decent though!
I love attending different Steak Nights around Houston, just to see what's out there. This place wasn't terrible, but it was sub par and there are better options for Steak Night around Houston. The steak was cooked perfect medium rare, however it had absolutely no flavor what so ever and I am not a fan of how they bring a tray of old and used baked potato toppings. You don't know who's hands have been in it and the whole thing just isn't sanitary at all. Trivia was a lot of fun, we enjoyed the announcer and she was friendly. Our server Danya was great, very friendly, helpful, and quick. We loved her. The drinks were good and over all we had fun, even if the food part of the experience wasn't all that great. If I return, it will be for drinks and trivia alone. I'll pay for food elsewhere. I do like that you can bring your dog on the patio as well.
Went for lunch during March madness, spent 35 bucks for chicken tenders and 3 pints of decent beer. Tenders were extremely okay. Atmosphere felt stale. WiFi has good speed. Cumulatively it was very average considering the price. Not a good lunch spot at all, could be better at night.
Went for Santa's Tavern and was a bit disappointed. This was only a highly Christmas decorated bar, not worth any admission ticket fees. Yes there were stations set up for photo ops, but you should have had access to that for free if you were at the establishment spending money. The drinks designed for the event were way overpriced. Ended up getting regular cocktails at a more decent price
First time ever to have a bartender walk off mid sentence while I was ordering a beer and help someone else. An extra star because the beer was only $4 and the patio was nice.
I honestly don’t review places often. But felt like this place needed it. I’ll start with the good. Porch swing pub has a good vibe and outdoor area. They’re trivia nights are well organized and a fun time. However, the service is below average and the draft beers are iffy. For instance, I’ve had simple orders (a beer and chips) go unfulfilled for 20+ minutes until I flagged down a server. I’ve also had multiple checks need correcting. As for beers, I’ve had many drafts that tasted flat. At first, I thought it must be due to an old/bad keg. But after trying different beers, I realized it had to be due to the lines either being dirty or some other internal issue. This place has potential and I haven’t had these issues in the past. So hopefully it turns around.
Don't bother coming here to watch sports. I come here every football season as they have a number of screens both inside and outside, a reasonably decent beer selection, and pretty good bar food (great sweet potato fries!). What I have now found, however, is that they have no respect for people watching games. As soon as a group comes in that is bigger than your group, the manager will, with no warning to you, switch screens to their game (I should add that the other party specifically asked that he accommodate us, as we were clearly watching the game and had already been there for over an hour). When I asked about this sudden shutoff, he wondered why I was annoyed, as he had switched the tiniest screen in the corner of the bar to our game, and said that his policy was to cater to the majority, because he "is trying to run a business here". He asked me how I could even justify comparing my (higher ranked, same conference) team to the one that he had switched it to - which I found rather insulting. Now before I sound too whiny, I totally understand that it is a business's right to showcase whatever game they want, in the manner they want. However, it is a manager's job to respect the customers, and if that meant coming to us first and explaining the situation, and ideally making a bit of effort to accommodate us but still switching the screen, we would have understood. Instead he acted like we were nothing to him - which may be close to the truth, and like we was doing us a favor by even still having the game on the corner's 24 in screen. My motivation for watching the game at the bar was to watch the game in a bar environment, it's not like I lack food, beer, or a television at home. If I'm going to be respected only until the next highest bidder shows up, I have no business coning here. It's a business's right to operate as they see fit, but it is a customer's to stop giving business to someone with poor practices. I give it two stars, as it is not a bad place, and the staff is good, but so long as the management keeps operating with these principles, it is not a place that is worth going to.
The bartender was excellent, but the draught beers were way off. We ordered four different beers, all of which we drink often and know the flavors. These were all somewhat flat, tasted slightly sour, and all of them sort of tasted like each other. It makes me wonder how often they clean their draught lines.
Somewhat cozy spot. Decent beer selection. They are a little too proud of themselves though. $9.25 for this pint of Mini Boss from Eureka Heights, which is less than a ten minute drive from here. $6 anywhere else. $8.25 for a Hopadillo? GTFO! $6 anywhere else. It’s not like these prices are to scare off the hipsters. $4.75 for Lone Stars and Buds? $3.25 just about anywhere else. $7 max for a local pint. Serious. I’m hella unimpressed with this. Otherwise, service is what is expected.
Santas Tavern is not worth the cover. Very slow service. Bar tender pouring house liquors for drinks that advertise top shelf. No christmas music. We left after waiting more than 25 minutes to order food
Service was very bad. They put the snow cone holders as a cover for the pour spouts of their liquor bottles. Coming from a former bartender this is very gross and unsanitary. DO NOT GET A DRINK THERE.
This bar is terrible. Don't go here. The draft selections are limited and they have minimal liquor selection. The food can only be best described as over priced elementary cafeteria food. It was a joke and completely uneatable. My stomach has been turning all night and I feel like I'm going to throw up. Overall horrible experience. Would not recommend or will I ever return.
If you want your car broken into and bad service by all means go here. The owner was rude and refused to work with investigators to release footage of the people breaking into the cars in the parking lot. Stated that it happens all the time and they will never be caught which leads me to believe the owner is in on it. Service is bad, servers stand around and talk on phones to their friends instead of helping the customers and drinks are watered down with off brand liquor even though requested top shelf. Waste of time and money.
I usually don’t leave bad reviews but nobody asked me if I wanted to order the whole time I was there. Roxy was the server and she not even once looked at me or my friend. I even tried to tell the runner (old guy) that If he could tell her we wanted to order he cut me mid sentence and said “ask the server” like? Duh what do you think im trying to do? She was taking forever to come outside and when she did she NEVER ACKNOWLEDGE me or my friends that were trying to tell her I wanted to order. horrible horrible service that night.
The new Tuesday night bartender is horrid & doesn’t care about regulars. She’s going to make regulars not want to come back. Old, mean, and an ugly attitude.
So... I truly don't know why I still give this place a chance. Over and over we get rude service. My video depicts what a so called busy busy BUSY time for the bartender looks like. I still can't grasp how a man cannot multitask without losing his senses. I would be fine if a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" would've taken place instead of "I'm sure you see how busy I am so just wait..." I didn't have a phone out and I smiled and made eye contact but still got rude condescending service. The sad part, its not the first time. If this bartender believes that a measly 7-10 customers at a bar is over the top busy... I feel sorry for him. Last, Josh just walked in and sat beside me. He must be a regular because he got a greeting and explanation as to why he has to wait for service. Don't waste your time here. There's Fuegos down the street!!
