Those grilled Oysters and fish have me in a headlock. Great food happy hour specials weekly.
8 of us had our monthly lunch here. The food was great. The picnic style was a great advantage for the size of the party. The owner walks around and checks on everything. (If you are not observant, you would not know he is the owner). Take your family and friends, sit at a long table and make some new friends along the way.
Red beans and rice with sausage is amazing. Garlic bread so good. The carmel pecan cheesecake was perfect, just wish the piece was larger. Fabulous food.
I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Best crab and crawfish I get in Houston! And if you want extra wet and EXTRA spicy they are not playing! So good!! My favorite place to come for a seafood boil.
We had a great meal this evening coupled with great service! The grilled oysters were fresh and delicious! Their Caesar salad is the best in Houston hands down and no complaints about the Bloody Mary. Pay them a visit. It’s worth your time.
Raging Cajun was a surprise stop in Houston for me. I usually don't eat Cajun food outside of Louisiana....I would go back to Ragin Cajun. We had shrimp po boys, bread pudding and cheese cake. Everything was good. The building has plenty of tables to serve the lunch and dinner rush.
We’ve eaten at Ragin’ Cajun a number of times, and honestly, it’s become a bit of a family tradition for us—especially when Thanksgiving rolls around. Our go-to is always their turducken, which they serve up in different forms—frozen, thawed, or fully cooked, depending on how you want it. It’s always fantastic. We usually get ours ahead of time and it never disappoints. The sides are just as great, and it’s become a place we really recommend to anyone looking for a good Cajun bite. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The only small downside is the parking can be a bit tricky since it’s a bit tight and fills up quickly. But that’s just a small note in an otherwise top-notch experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an unreal meal at Ragin’ Cajun on Richmond Avenue in Houston (4302 Richmond Ave). Walking into “the shack” I wasn’t sure what to expect but the food absolutely blew my mind. From their blackened catfish to the crunchy po’‑boys, each dish was packed with flavor and cooked just right. One of the biggest surprises was their wine selection. Never thought I’d pair a Pinot Grigio with some serious Cajun spice, but it worked. Definitely not your average joint when it comes to drinks. Ambience is casual, warm, and fun. The walls are covered in character — the kind you see in true Louisiana-style spots. There’s character, great Southern vibes, and a menu that makes you want to try everything (and yes I almost did). If you’re in Houston and craving Cajun/Creole, fresh seafood, or just somewhere with soul and flavor, this is the place to go. I’ll be back for sure.
TL/DR - Authentic atmosphere and flavor Stepping into this place is like stepping back in time—in the best way. I ate here as a kid in the ’80s, and it still feels like a tucked-away shack on the Louisiana bayou. The interior hasn’t changed much since the ‘70s, and that’s part of the charm. It’s not trying to be flashy—just real, familiar, and full of character. The menu has evolved subtly over the years, enough to stay current without losing the soul of authentic Cajun cooking. The crawfish and seafood boils are still the main event—bold, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only knock is that the seafood was just a touch overcooked this time, but it didn’t ruin the experience. Still an incredible bite, and I’ll be back without question. Some places just know how to stick to what works.
I live down the street from here and since I’ve tried it I’ve been kicking myself for not coming here sooner! I don’t think you’ll find better crawfish, especially at this price, in all of Houston. The people are always friendly and we love sitting at bar here (it’s LA Bar, the two are connected though). Their happy hour is pretty incredible as well, I’ve never had such huge oysters anywhere that still have this much flavor. I could rave about this place all day honestly, but please come and try it for yourself!
We were in Houston picking up a part for my husband's rig. We always like to try new places. I'm sooooooo glad I picked this place. The atmosphere is vibin. Love the art on the walls. Our server was awesome. And the food was delicious! My husband had been craving seafood for a couple days and I'll never turn down a good boil. My boiled shrimp was clean, hot, and spicy. I would definitely be back again. Maybe even take another 2 hour drive just because. Would definitely recommend and my strawberry Margarita was amazing. We're bring friends next time. And the place was very clean! Can't wait to go back.

This place is amazing. Our baby shower for my son was perfect location and pricing. The staff was so kind. We’ll be back for another party. Thank you guys. This day was so special.
The freshest tastiest seafood I’ve had in a long time! The portions for the price are areal value when eating with friends or family members. I highly recommend this place!!!

Went here for lunch after a few appts at the VA this morning. Was great. I had the Louisiana crawfish tail platter and I don't know if or how long it will take me to get used to the taste again as I've haven't had something similar to shrimp in years and I used to eat shrimp all the time. Anyway, as I said the food was great but I wish there was more than four hushpuppies. They were gone fast. Thanks again!
First of all, I can't recall our servers name, but she was OUTSTANDING!!! she was from New Orleans and had family in Chicago and she was just great!! The oysters were outstanding, Po Boy was pretty good and the gumbo wasn't bad either! My husband is very selective about gumbo and he gave this one a thumbs up (despite the okra ). It wasn't overly crowded and parking is right outside of the door. Definitely a good place for your oyster fix. Prices are very fair, atmosphere is casual and located right near the Galleria
This place has an incredible Louisianan atmosphere - feels truly authentic. Service is great - friendly staff, quick serving and fast table cleaning. The crawfish did not convince me though - they have only 1 flavor (signature spicy), and i was just ok. Might be a bit weird descriptions - but it tasted “dry, spicy” and not as juicy-flavorful as i would have hoped. Also i don’t understand why the boil is served in tall buckets… the sauce is on the bottom and a lot of ingredients on the top have not even touched the seasoning/sauce. And also impossible to mix in this bucket. Not very thought through IMO Can recommend to try dirty rice
Tonight the place was packed and very noisy. Our waitress did an excellent job under difficult circumstances. We enjoyed grilled fish which was the Thursday night, special, and gumbo, and étouffée.

The food is good. The service is fast. A lil bit pricey. But it worthy. Dont get distracted with the can soda. Cuz they have a fountain drink
A good Cajun restaurant with some really good menu options. They have a nice ambiance and good service (B)

I had high expectations from watching a reels video so I brought my friends last night (late Feb). What’s good: location, plenty of parking space, and service. For the food part, the boiled crawfish was not impressive at all. We ordered 5 pounds. Besides the sizes were tiny which we understand that it’s still kind of early in the season, there were at least 20 dead crawfish all with gross black dirt and rotten juices. That made us think the rotten juices ruined the whole boil. It’s perfectly ok if we cross a couple but a couple dozens were too much in two buckets. The corns and potatoes were flavorless bc they’re not boiled with the crawfish. The shrimp gumbo came with the Po-Boy had unpleasant smells from the shrimp. The gumbo shrimps were squishy and stinky. There was a 30-min line at 7pm, and we thought they could do a better job.
Food is good but the service sucks! They should put more friendly staff or cashier upfront. The two ladies (heavy set hispanic girl with glasses in red and younger hispanic girl in black) wouldn’t smile to customers not one bit but playing around with their coworkers in the back. I said hello to the girl in red and didn’t even respond back and when I ask for happy hour menu she just threw it on the counter without even saying anything, so rude! I dont why people sign up for something they hate, you get paid right? So atleast do the part and the job. Im just saying!
Dropped in for lunch. Wife had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, which she described as tasty. I had the Shrimp Brochette and the Seafood Gumbo. The Shrimp Brochette was unremarkable, but the remoulade really made the dish. Let's talk about the gumbo. We'll, if you want to call it that. It was way overcooked. The veggies, that could be recognized, were so overcooked that thet turned to mush in the mouth and were flavorless. There was heat as an aftertaste, as if seeking validation through being spicy. I really could not finish this as it was simply unpalatable. Oh, and no okra. Hello!!! I simply would not recommend this place and a three is being very generous. I won't be back.

overpriced mediocre Cajun food! It's nothing to brag about. $17 for an half po- boy with an overly filled rice gumbo. Lol. Barn type atmosphere, seafood smell. Service is average.

The service and atmosphere was great but the food was lacking. We ordered a crab boil and were disappointed with the temperature of the food (lukewarm) and the fact that the food wasn’t marinated in the sauce. We love a good boil and this one fell short. We loved the butter sauce but overall 2/5
Trash crab boil. No flavor at all. Even the garlic butter sauce was mid. Crab boil without the boil part. Why wasn't it served in the juice? Never been so disappointed in a crab boil.

Wow. I left an honest review on Yelp saying the food was nasty and the owner got in the comments and went completely rude and unprofessional. Instead of handling it like a business owner should, he got defensive, insulted me, and even called me ignorant all because I didn’t like the food. Let this be a warning: if you leave a bad review, be prepared to get disrespected. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the place. Terrible food AND terrible attitude. Reply to the owner: The fact that you, as the owner, are skipping right over the part where I said the food was FLAVORLESS, DISGUSTING, AND NASTY, just to shift the blame onto Uber, is unreal. I’ve ordered seafood boils before that were delivered, some might be a little overcooked, sure but they still had flavor. This didn’t. It was just plain nasty. Instead of taking accountability, you’d rather be sarcastic and unprofessional in your replies. I truly hope your business gets exactly what it deserves with this kind of attitude. And please don’t bother trying to delete your responses later. I’ve screenshotted every single one. Stand on what you said. Thanks, and have a great day.
Food smelled terrible and the amount of food was given I would not haven't paid that price. I honestly wouldn't ever order here again food smells old. I wasted over 80 plus dollars I didn't even attempt to eat it for the fear of getting sick. We were there for a medical appointment and it was already late, around your closing time, I took it as a loss. We had to wake up early so we ordered something else and went to bed. Well good thing I took pictures of the food that I didn't eat. I can submit my receipts for all the food I paid for that night. We ended up ordering Hawaiian brothers instead. If you're thinking I wanted something for free, you're highly mistaken. This little cup of shrimp that you charged me so much for. The surf and crab that we usually get doesn't surve small portions and or food that smells old. My post is not for me to get a refund is just to inform.
