Opinions de Tacodeli Houston
I'm embarrassed to say but I'm a regular and they all know me. Lol but it's worth it. It's also good. Everyone's so great too.
price was worth it i only wish there was more tacos but quality is on point forsure. coming from the taco connoisseur -JP
We come to this Taco Deli about once a month when we come to Houston to visit our kids and grandkids. They are always friendly and patient with our detailed and long order. 😳 The food is always hot and tasty and they have it ready for us in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend them. 😊
Surpassed Torchy's and Velvet in quality, taco specials, and consistency. It is a contender for being the best tacos inside the loop.
My first time going here and will definitely be back when I'm in the area! I love to ask the person taking my order what their favorite thing is on the menu, she was quick to say The Cowboy was her fav and it did not disappoint! They are not stingy with the toppings or serving size. Delicious, clean place, no wait and great service!
Taco Deli is my daughter's favorite queso spot. We have tried all of the locations in Austin so naturally we had to try the Houston location. It did not disappoint per the usual. Excellent food and service. A beautiful location located in a business area.
First time visiting this location and was immediately impressed with the friendly service provided by the young cashier. Gave suggestions and processed quickly. Chips and guac was great. The pork taco was really tasty and while the carne asada one was still really good think I'd pick the pork one as my fave. I'm not a fan of the fountain soda selection since it's not your traditional Pepsi or coke machine but they made up for it with some delicious tea.
Tacodeli is in a great location as it’s not very far from buffalo bayou park or the white oak bayou. I see the running and cycling community stop in here a lot due to the great food. There are many healthy choices and not pricy at all. Their patio is covered but is still open to the outside air. I love eating and hanging out with friends and family here. 😀
I’ve only been to the TacoDeli in Austin’s Airport but this one has wayyyy more options & I loved it!! Really cool vibrant place. I like that they have outdoor and indoor seating. Vegan to regular options available to all the foodies out there. The staff even helped figure out what options can be made vegan. Really fresh food and unique flavors. I didn’t try their drinks but they looked really good so now I need to come back next week haha. They have a whole parking lot n in the back too so lots of space for you and all your friends to join the taco fun!
Vibe- This spot is a vibe! Its sits off Washington Avenue. There’s plenty of seating inside and I counted 8 tables outside under their covered porch kind of area (I sat outside on a beautiful sunny day, it was as the best!!) they have an entire salsa bar where you can serve self mild to hot salsa. Customer service- Amazing, the gentleman that took my order was so kind. Food/drinks- I got their vegan taco options: Freakin Vegan and Papadulce; they were both delicious!! Parking- There’s a lot next to the building with plenty of spots to park.
Best brekky tacos, hands down! I have not had a chance to eat at a Tacodeli for over five years. We used to live in Austin and moved to the Midwest and now East Coast. Very few brekky tacos available and none nearly on the same playing field as Tacodeli. During out trip to TX this July, we hit up Tacodeli three times is 9 days. Once in Houston, once in Austin (Domain area), and the final time in the Austin airport. My go to had always been The Otto but in the years I've been gone they added some other to the permanent menu that used to be revolving. I had the Otto, Akaushi Picadillo & Egg, and the Barbacoa Madruguera. All three were amazing as always and the Dona sauce just made everything an 11. My wife loves the Jess Special and the Vaquero; both are great but I love the trio I got. It's really hard to go wrong with Tacodeli so throw a dart and it's going to be good! I just wish they would expand to the East Coast. There is a massive void of good gourmet street tacos in this region from my perspective.
Great place for authentically flavored tacos! There was so much flavor in each bite I literally said yum every time I took one. The staff/customer service was great! Felt super comfortable. A PLUS is the outdoor patio on Washington Ave. with views of downtown, drool!
This place was great! My first time going. The employees were very helpful and nice. The tacos were pretty inventive and delicious. The guacamole was a little on the hot side, but it was very good. Very bright and refreshing with the lime. The atmosphere was also very fun. As someone in our group said, it felt very "Austin." I would be happy to go back and recommend it to others.
One of the better taco places in Houston if you're looking for a fancy taco, not an authentic Mexican taco. Their queso is great, as are their in-house made salsas. If you like spice ask for their Habanero Pico de Gallo, it's hot but really tasty. They have a huge menu that's also veggie friendly so there's something for everyone.
This is by far my favorite taco place. All of the tacos are simple but delicious. There is no need for crazy combinations. The delibelly daily special on Wednesdays and Saturdays is the best! I would recommend this place to anyone who likes tacos. To be fair, my two biggest gripes are that the chips and queso is not very good, and the hours aren't great. They're only open until 3, and don't serve the daily specials or lunch tacos until 11.
Tacodeli lies about five minutes from where I work so I finally decided to visit it for lunch. I ordered a birria taco and, I think, a frontera fundida. They were both very good and enough for a not-too-hungry lunch. Price for the two tacos, with tips, came out to be just about $12. Would I come back for another lunch? Hmmm... Maybe. It was a bit expensive for two tacos.
First visit. Got A Shrimp taco and a Salmon tacos. Shrimp was ok w no sauce. Salmon had way too much salsa and too much spice for my liking. Also expensive and no prices on the menu so you only find out how expensive after you order.
I came to Tacodeli as it was recommended and had good reviews. I ordered beans and cheese, vaquero, and barbacoa breakfast tacos. The experience and the quality of the food underwhelmed me. The beans were salty. For me, the beans distinguish a good from an underperforming restaurant. The barbacoa taco was okay. The vaquero taco (from which I only took a bite) was also salty. All of these were served on a flour tortilla that was probably bought in a local grocery store. The tacos might have more character if served on a handmade corn tortilla. But what can I say? When the location gives a “trendy” feeling, atmospheres like these often lose the flavors and complexity of Mexican food. I will not be back despite good service.
Food was so salty I threw a portion of it away. The akaushi picadillo is the only reason for the one star - It tasted good where the beef wasn't overwhelmed. While I thought it was a bit salty, it was overall ok. Then came the Arrachero plate. Presentation was very good - three nice substantial steak pieces with Mexican red rice and refried black beans. I ate salt regardless of anything - steak, beans or rice. Using the tortilla didn't help one bit. Absolutely awful.
