Opinions de Vietnam Restaurant Houston
I had a little bit of both the Shaking Beef Bo Luc Lac and Beef Broad Egg Noodle Mi Xao Mem Bo. They were hot, tender, and flavorful. Good portion size. Honestly, the best Vietnamese food I have ever had in Houston. So good I had to write this review. I will order this regularly.
Love having a Lua closer to us in the heights. The shaking beef and the Vietnamese chicken salad are delicious!
Ironically, I do DoorDash several times a week, and I had an order for this business. When I arrived, the friendliness of this place was beyond great the atmosphere the lighting it all fits perfect after I delivered my order. I decided to come back and dine in and the food was amazing. I would definitely be back not just a dash, but also try a new plate. Alan was super awesome and has great customer service. 10 ⭐️ ‘s
Our go to take out spot for Asian food. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. All the tofu dishes are outstanding!
I order the stir fried egg noodles which I love the fact that they’re the only place that offer the flat wide egg noodles. However the many few times I’ve orders the veggies are over cooked, soggy. Veggies need to have bit bite or crunch to give some texture and there is so much sauce that it looks like soup so I had to drain most of the sauce which takes away the flavor it gets from it being cooked in the wok.
Food was good. Pho was better than some pho shops (soup less salty, actually able to drink the broth). Only critique - didn’t see chopsticks with the silverware.
I came here on a rainy day, and the food was amazing! The ingredients were fresh, and the serving size was great! Highly recommend! I have a gluten allergy, and they were very helpful! Atmosphere: somewhat emo music, but I liked it. Very chill. I love that they played Adel.
I love their tofu dishes! It's hard to find good Tofu Luc Loc since Mo Mong closed. Viet Lua's comes very close!
Fresh and delicious Vietnamese food at a reasonable price. Restaurant is clean and inviting. Love that they have a cocktail, beer and wine options.
Been a huge fan of their Montrose location for a couple of years now. So glad they brought one to the Heights. The food is delicious. The customer service is next to nine. Plus the atmosphere is amazing. Love this place.
This place is really good. Super clean, and chill building, great staff. I love when food is served really hot, and this was up to temp for sure. Great flavor, nice portions. Overall recommended. Also I'm a vegan and they had options, which is great!!
I can't say enough about the quality service provided at this location! I messed up and ordered to the Montrose location (not knowing they had two locations) and they made it right, I didn't have to run down to Montrose they worked with me to ensure I was still able to enjoy a quality meal! So many good options for food, I can't pick one, anything with the beef is amazing! My wife enjoys the vegetarian options, veggies are always fresh and delicious!
We had the shaking beef & salt n pepper shrimp with pork egg rolls on the side. Everything was delicious and fresh. We will definitely be returning again soon.
Best, hight quality beef pho in Houston! I used to eat a lot at their Montrose branch and now also located in the heights
I love a good dumpling soup! Light broth, nice dumplings wrapped thin🤤 and a lot of fresh flavors married together making a perfect light lunch for me. I could eat this everyday, but I will definitely try other items. You can expect freshness and quality, fairly priced. Very friendly, pleasant staff. Clean open space. Order at the front. Drink and self service bar at the back.
Lot of great vegetarian options here! The tofu curry, broad noodle dish, and dancing tofu are all excellent choices. Everything comes with that wonderful wok hei flavor that really makes the dishes stand out. Portions are just right, and the food comes out quickly, which makes it perfect for lunch or a quick dinner. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for flavorful, veggie-friendly options!
This place is so tasty. The lemongrass tofu is a favorite. The tofu is perfectly crisp accented with mushrooms and a wonderful sauce. The chicken lemongrass bun was also very tasty with lots of fresh veggies. We will be back!
So so good! The Vietnamese dumpling soup was so tasty and comforting! A meal on its own to begin way! Not pictured but also ordered the shrimp vermicelli bowl, which was incredibly satisfying!
The shaking beef and chicken salad were delicious. Beautiful new location, friendly service, and plenty of parking. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the portion sizes are a little small, but other than that lunch was great. Would Definitely go back again.

My Vietnamese chicken salad was delicious! I'm Vietnamese and I know Vietnamese food! :-) The restaurant was clean, well lit, and reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.
Fantastic food! I got the chicken pho and it was scrumptious: pictured below. good vibes inside of the restaurant, which is well decorated (also very green, I'm a lil biased 💚). We were all raving about how delicious everything was. Thanks y'all!
(Review from a very sensitive celiac - gluten free) We have been going to both Lua Viet locations for over a year and it is always a super pleasant expirence. The admiral shrimp vermicelli is my go to, with the shrimp spring rolls (get the fish sauce to make gf). The employees are always fantastic and the food is 10/10. Definitely give this place a shot!
Went to try this new location in the heights and wasn't disappointed. I went around 530 so as expected there weren't too many patrons but it got busier while eating my meal. I ordered the shaking beef, and the chicken curry. I thought both were very flavorful and tasty. Shaking beef probably a bit on the healthier side. My one recommendation is next time when the food is brought if the server could Maybe explain what the clear dip? Was for the shaking beef. I wasn't sure what was the proper way to use it in my meal. I dipped my meat but not sure if thst was right. In any case glad to have anotheer Viet place in the heights!

Beautiful atmosphere. Clean. So many vegan options. Good service! You and your non vegan family can eat here. ♥️
Kids love the awesome food. And they love the decor. The best fried rice. As a nutritionist I personally appreciate the locally grown foods that are mostly organic and msg free. Thank you! I would appreciate some organic wine options.
This was our first time at the restaurant and it will definitely not be our last. The guy who took our order helped with recommendations and was pleasant and funny. The cocktails were better than we expected and the food was delicious! We’ll be back and we’ll bring our friends!
Met my husband and son for lunch and we were not disappointed. Our dishes were perfectly seasoned on the spicy side. Portions were generous too. Jay took our order and although they weren’t offering the juice I was looking for he had a great suggestion…. A deliciously flavored watermelon/pineapple canned beverage. The young man was truly “Johnny on the spot!” Experience was everything we went in looking for.

Ordered uber eats and it was pretty good I will say they need to work on the shrimp pho it was tasteless! Disappointed in that cause expensive for pho! but at least the Vietnamese curry noodles, and shaking tofu and lemongrass chicken on point
I was really excited to see a full Vietnamese restaurant open in this neighborhood to provide some variety from all the chicken, pizza and hamburger places. I found the food to be well prepared and very tasty. The pork rolls were fried to a perfect crunch and were stuffed with a good portion of pork and other tasty and fresh ingredients . It was also nice that you can get the various rolls in a half order of two rolls instead of having the option to order a plate of four or more rolls. I also had the beef pho which was flavorful, filling with a fair amount of tender beef slices included. However, the restaurant determines how much bean sprouts, basil and jalapeños will be added to you bowl of pho as they come already mixed in with the soup as it is served to you. I was disappointed that I was not given a separate plate of these ingredients and allowed to mix my desired quantities into the pho. I was also surprised at the minor delay that I experienced in having my food prepared and delivered to my table. In most Vietnamese restaurants the food is served to you within 10 minutes of your order. Despite the restaurant not being busy, it took over 15 minutes to receive my food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is open and inviting with plenty of tables and a pleasant large mural of an Asian boat at the far end. There is also outdoor seating for when the weather is nice, however, the view across the street (Durham) is a a lot full of cars for an auto dealership. The prices were what you expect these days. My pork rolls, pho, a Vietnamese beer, and a tip ran me about $30.

I dislike restaurants where you must order first, go get your utensils and beverage, and on top, it is expected that you tip. I had no idea this was the case when we decided to give it a try. Putting that aside, the spring rolls and pork rolls were delicious. The lemongrass chicken was ok. The Thai tea was not good at all. The young men that were working there, were nice, but again not what I expected. I will not go back, but I would not say is terrible. If you like a restaurant that is fast food type, this is the place for you.
This place is a new and modern but it is basically an upscale fast food place. Go get your own utensils and families with kids. They charged $17.99 for the Shaking Beef Bo Luc Lac. When the plate came i was in such shock that i told the guy you have some nerve to charge that price for that small portion. My Vietnamese friend said it tasted ok. She said 5/10. I did not enjpy your dumplings. This place is no different then Panda Express except here they charge more and give smaller portions.

The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet, a great place to relax and grab a drink. The food, however, was disappointing no napkins or sauces were provided. The pho was not good at all, more watery and bland than flavorful or salty. The vegetarian fried rolls were the only highlight. Overall, good vibes but not good food.
Lúa Viet is a Vietnamese restaurant in the Heights. I tend to go to Bellaire Blvd for all my Viet eats but wanted to try something closer and decided to give Lúa Viet a try. You order before sitting down, and I got a phở gà and cơm gà xối mỡ. I tried to give them some leniency because it is the one of the few Vietnamese restaurants within the inner loop, but the phở gà was the blandest phở I have ever had. The broth had no depth and lacked seasoning. They did give a large portion of noodles, which I usually prefer, but the broth was so lacking, I could not finish it. The cơm gà xối mỡ was okay. I was really disappointed and am not sure if I would give them a try again.
I ordered beef pho but it takes more than 15 minutes to come out. There are only 3 tables who already have their foods so it wasn't busy. Pho is over-priced because it is small portion as picture. It doesn't even small bowl size compare to other vietnamese restaurants. But beef was fresh.
Ordered the large fried rice and added beef. Bowl was definitely large but charging $5.99 extra for the bit of beef shavings sitting on top of the rice should definitely be a crime somewhere lol. Would've let it pass but the beef was also EXTREMELY salty, and this is coming from someone who actually doesn't mind some salt/seasoning. It was just way too much. I'm assuming it was a mistake but that coupled with the amount you actually get for the price you pay, is just sub par. Rice itself without the beef was good. Full transparency the pic was taken after I ate a few pieces of the beef (maybe like 3/4) and is not the amount it came with. I'd say it was like a few oz of thinly sliced beef.

Waited over 20 minutes for a bowl of Pho….. Place is empty they don’t take priority of dine customers. Employee showed me the “to-go” orders as an excuse…. Don’t waste your time this place won’t last long. Over priced and service is horrible. I ended up canceling my check
