I love this spot! First time trying. Jason was our waiter and he was amazing! He is hilarious and very attentive and accommodated us on all requests we had. We will definitely be back!
We had a big dinner event here today after my mother’s funeral. The food incredible and very fresh! I ordered a chicken parm. It was served with penne pasta. The sauce was clearly homemade and the cutlet hand breaded. Decor was elegant and classy. I highly recommend! Lots of parking too. Fun fact, my mother use to take me here as a kid to see my dentist. It was so neat to be sitting having dinner in what was once the waiting room. Honestly never thought I’d ever be back in that room. Hit me with nostalgia.
Had a great night with friends at La Strada! Very cozy restaurant with the best service we’ve ever had. Our server Jason was amazing! The menu looked so impressive that I let him pick for me. He chose the special burrata stuffed ravioli topped with crab meat and it was delicious. 10/10 will be back
Wow, what a find! My business partner and I are from out of town and decided to stop in for a late lunch. The owner Michael, host Larry, and waiter Jason are the most hospitable group of gentleman I have encountered in a long time. If the impeccable service was not enough the cuisine at La Strada will surely win your heart. The appetizer, main course, and desert were delicious!! I can’t wait for another occasion to visit their restaurant. Every second of the hour and fifteen minute drive was well worth it. Bravo!!
What a cute place! First time there and the food was perfect *chefs kiss* had me dancing in my seat! Definitely going back!
This was the perfect place to celebrate my son passing the DC Bar. Parking was just right. Only steps away from the front door. Service good. Not quick but satisfactory. The food arrived hot and quite tasty. We enjoyed Gamberi Al Forno, Zucchine Fritte 😋for appetizers, Rigatoni a la Vodka with Chicken, Lobster Ravioli a la Vodka w/shrimp, Gnocchi Al Limone, and Fettuccine Alfredo with Huge Homemade Meatballs for dinner. Way too much to eat in one sitting. So we took much of it home. This is a BYOB. So, we enjoyed a bottle of Veuve 🍾 and red wine 🍷during dinner in a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere with light music playing in the background. We will definitely be back!
An amazing first experience!! We were 10 minutes late to our reservation from rain, and waited another 15 minutes for a table. DIDNT MATTER. worth every minute of the wait! They are busy for a reason! We had John as our server. He was exceptional. So funny and did not hold back with his customers in terms of personality and laughs. He also knew all the repeat customers around us by name, which me and my fiancé loved (gives a more family feel). We were well beyond closing hours and weren’t rushed at all. The best vodka sauce in town. We’ve been looking for the perfect Italian spot for our designated date night and finally found it. Thank you!
We held my sister's bridal shower at La Strada today and it was amazing! The waitstaff was topnotch. They were polite, efficient and the service was impeccable. The food was great and I honestly can't say enough about the owner, his staff and their business. I highly recommend them for a shower, party or even just an intimate dinner.
Made reservation for a party of 8 with only hours notice before Saturday dinner. They were very accommodating. Service was excellent as well as the food! Was referred by a friend who lives in the area and was well worth it!
I've ordered before, but New Year's Eve 2022 was my first time dining in-house. The experience exceeded my expectations. Our server Greg was vibrant and comical. His suggestions lived up to their reputation. As an appetizer, I ordered the crab cakes. The cream was delicious. The Ceasar salad with the in-house prepared dressing was good. For dinner, I ate the lobster ravioli. That dish is rich and creamy and just perfect. It's served in a creamy vodka sauce. I did add shrimp. My date had the Pollo Imperiale, a seasonal dish, but I can tell he enjoyed it as we didn't do much talking over our entrees. I forgot to take multiple photos. The food was so yummy! The wait staff works as a unified team. There was never a time period when I was left feeling like I needed something.
We had a beautiful baby shower here. The food was amazing and the service was very good. Really nice experience
Nice Italian Restaurant with great food. Had a party of 8 and food and service was very good! Planing on going back soon!
Been going here for years. Like 5/6 times a year. Love that it's a byob too
Shrimp Puttanesca and Vodka Rigatoni was fabulous. Best tiramisu I’ve had to date
Amazing, I actually leave very close by and finally decided to give it a go. Jason was our server and he did a wonderful job explaining the specials and menu as well as to put a smile on my kids. Food came out in a timely manner very well presented. Definitely will be going back!
My husband and I went for dinner to celebrate our 44th anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful and had a romantic feel to it. The food was great and the portions were large! The service was excellent. Will definitely go again.
We came upon this restaurant by chance after visiting the Bryn Anthem Museum! What a beautiful way to end the day ! The atmosphere was just lovely ! Our waiter so kind ! & the food was deliciously amazing ! If you’re in the area this is a definite “must try!”
Small restaurant, looks like a house. We went on a Wednesday night, and it wasn't crowded, but I imagine on a weekend, it would fill up fast. We really liked the round tables, it makes it very easier to converse as a group. We had an excellent meal. I ordered the shrimp appetizer, which was great. Followed by a Caeser salad (finely chopped lettuce and not too garlicky). For an entree, I had the lobster ravioli. It was incredible. It is served in a Vodka sauce, which is a lighter tomato/cream sauce. Best I've ever had. The ravioli was perfect. I will definitely go back and order again. Although I also want to try other dishes, as I'm sure they will be just as good.
This was our first time, and Larry and Mike were amazing at fitting us in after about 30 min without a reservation (which we will have next time). The service and food were terrific, and we each enjoyed tasting what the others in our party of 3 ordered. They have a menu with a large number of tempting options. We love calamari appetizers, and theirs is one of the best we’ve tasted—thick slices cooked perfectly, with light breading and a wonderful glaze. We had a clam entree in a spicy red sauce, salmon in a vodka cream sauce, and a vegetarian pasta dish with mushrooms/ricotta cheese/truffle oil—all 3 were great! We had no room for dessert, but, of course, we ordered it anyway—the 3 of us shared/enjoyed the vanilla ice cream with the cherry in the middle and dark chocolate coating. We’ll be back very soon!
Was invited for a family event there. Definitely going back. Calamari appetizer lightly breaded drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Would have it as an entree,it was that good. Go there, you won't be disappointed.
My sister and I hosted a baptism lunch here, over the weekend. Food was great, service was good, owner Michael was there and very attentive. I will give it 5 stars but I do have a large complaint. I worked with Larry for weeks leading up to the event (h great) and he knew it was for a 6 month old baptism, they have no changing tables for babies. We had 5 kids in diapers, from age six months to 2 years... No changing table. In my mind this is unacceptable . We had to change the older ones on the dirty floor (while we were in suits and dresses) and the younger ones were on the granite counter top next to the sink (so dangerous). Just don't understand how it's 2023 and this isn't a non negotiable for a restaurant to have. Service: We had 3 servers for 50ish people, the two were fantastic, we had a man (his daughter was names Charlotte) and a blond woman, super attentive and helpful. There was a younger woman, glasses, dark hair... needs some training on her bedside manner. She was clearly frustrated we were up out of our seats talking. Would roll her eyes, get flustered. Sorry this is a family event, we traveled from 5 different states for this... be a little more patient please. Over all, 100% I would come back, food was great, just really really hope they add a changing table for a baby for all the families.
This is haute cuisine and it is so easy to miss this place on Huntingdon Pike. Easy parking down the driveway. Nice atmosphere with large windows. Food was great and so was our sever. I believe her name is Sasha.
best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. the waiter was very friendly and compassionate when part of my party had trouble finding the place as well as i was running late. i appreciate the time he took to give us time to order and catch up since i flew in from Arizona. the special with stuffed crab and shrimp with pasta, pear and tomato was delicious. the waiter checked in several times to see if we needed anything else. it was much appreciated. my cousin, friend and i all had leftovers to take home. the customer service was as superb as the food.
We just had another wonderful dinner at La Strada. Our server, Arsen, went above and beyond. He was so friendly, warm, and accommodating, and he made our evening extra special. The menu is fantastic - lots of choices, and the food, as always, was fantastic. We love it there and we highly recommend it to others.
First time here. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The 2 servers were amazing, they worked together very well. I had the salmon and it was a very generous portion, cooked just right! For 4 of us the bill was pretty reasonable. I highly recommend going here!
This is a truly authentic Italian restaurant in a cozy setting. Our family of 5 all got something different and everything was better than the next. The tiramisu was the best I’ve had outside of Italy. Highly recommend!!
For our annual friends' dinner, we always choose a BYOB to keep costs down. This time was my pick, and I selected La Strada since my family and I gave gotten take out from there before. The sit-down dinner did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful, the food was delicious with good portion sizes, and the service was excellent. The only thing I'd want different is the amount of room at the tables. It was a little tight, but not enough to lessen the experience. Highly recommend.
We absolutely love everything about La Strada. The food is exceptional and Jason is the best waiter ever. Rest easy, your money is well spent here. The portions are more than ample.
Food was delicious. My dad and I shared the calamari appetizer. We got the lobster ravioli with shrimp and branzino for entrees. Both were delicious! For dessert we had the tiramisu. It was so light! Can’t wait to come back. Services was great!
Seriously one of the best meals my wife and I have had in a long time. Stuffed mushrooms were amazing! Porterhouse Steak, amazing! Wife got some chicken dish that had roasted red peppers and cheese in Rosa sauce and it was delicious! Our waiter was perfect, the staff were perfect. I would not change a thing about this place. Will definitely be back!!
Jason was an awesome waiter! His energy and sense of humor made the whole dining experience even better. He kept us laughing the entire time while still being super attentive and professional. Definitely one of the best servers we’ve had — we’ll be asking for him next time!
Saturday, February 10, 2024 La Strada: a pretty good Italian BYOB. comfortable cozy ambience, white tablecloths. Our server MaryBeth: bee’s knees wonderful, friendly, informative of the menu items and their specials, the quintessential server. The rest of the staff: the busboys, food runners, complemented the servers, were spot on and attentive. Our appetizers: the carciofo francese: artichokes served in a way I've never had before, they were great! The calamari fritti al Modena was amazing: crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside, drizzled with a balsamic reduction and…Asian chili sauce?… that baffled us, being that we weren’t expecting that from Italian cuisine… nevertheless, we devoured it and I would order that calamari again! The entrées: the braised veal osso bucco with risotto and fresh vegetables was tasty and everything I hoped for and expected. The gnocchi al limone: the dumplings were soft, but chewy(my dining partner has very high expectations from a gnocchi); the sauce was good, the added shrimp perfect. The desserts: my tartufo selectIon, a deep rich chocolate ice cream with a lovely chocolate shell was delish. The homemade tiramisu was it tasty puzzlement(you know how you expect to see a dessert, and it's presented to you in a different way?) Good food, FANTASTIC serving staff, lovely vibes. We had a wonderful experience!
The experience overall was great with the exception that the hostess (older male) didn't seem to "find" my name on the reservation list and then when he did he seated us smack middle of the walk way when there were side tables available (which had me thinking a bit, only because I'm not the "majority" that goes there. Maybe I'm thinking about too much. MAYBE NOT 🤷♂️). Other than that, our waiter Austin(if I'm not mistaken) was amazing! Top of the line fella, very attentive, kind, funny and friendly. The food was soooo GOOD! We got calamari (delicious!!), my fiance got the chicken Parm(chicken was good and pasta was on point), I got the lobster ravioli (pasta could've DEF been COOKED A BIT LONGER lol. Other than that it's DELICIOUS!!!!!) Bring your BOTTLE🍷🍷
We checked a few places to hold a bridal shower but everyone was only offering a breakfast menu.We really wanted a lunch menu and found LaStrada and booked right away. They were very helpful with suggestions and asking questions was no problem for them. Beautifully decorated party area and food was delicious . Additional benefit. BYOB. I can’t say enough about this place even the staff was amazing. If your looking for a place to have your party check it out you won’t be sorry. Our guests all seemed pleased . Thanks for a beautiful experience.
Our food was wonderful and service even better (although, I just realized they forgot the shrimp the waiter suggested I add to the lobster ravioli). The atmosphere was strange. It was Valentine's Day and the lighting made us feel like we were in a cafeteria with bright LED sconces, no candles, nothing to make it feel cozy or romantic. More like I was sitting in my own kitchen. Just dimming the lights and adding a tea candle would have made all the difference!
The meal was average nothing fantastic. I had high hopes for this restaurant but it wasn't as great as I thought. It was cheap Italian bread. It should have been homemade croutons on the Caesar salad and the chicken marsala was fair the sauce tasted bland and not thick enough. The server was was okay but the host was rude when we asked for a seat next to the window. I don't think we will be returning here again the food was okay nothing special and the temperature in the restaurant was cold unless you went in the bathroom where it was nice and warm
We have eaten here many times. Food is good. Service is good. But the host has been rude several times to us and at other times to my in laws that have been there without us. We don't know why. Once he made a comment ( i wont mention the comment) when I mentioned to my husband that I was going to the ladies room. Another time he had a comment when we walked up to the hosts stand. My in law was with a friend having dinner and he came to the table & said they were there too long and would need the table( they hadn't even finished dessert). Another time he seated them in a table at the entrance and refused to move them as they had "reservations" Well they had a reservation also!. We just stopped going there because it wasn't pleasant
This place was disappointing. The service was really good. We had an early reservation and brought out own wine. The appetizers were good both calamari and bruschetta. When it came to main courses nobody in our party was happy. Lamb chops came undercooked. Had to send them back. Chicken parm was undercooked. But my dad ate it. Chicken picatta had no taste. We will not be going back.
My wife and I visited La Strada this past Saturday for my nephew's Baptism lunch. The front of house was excellent and took care of any special requests. The food tasted great and the plating was nice. This is the reason for 2 stars, not 1. However, I sit here typing this while severely dehydrated, light headed, dizzy, with a headache, recovering from the worst 48-hours I've experienced in many years. I will spare you the absolutely disgusting details (Think of that scene in "Bridesmaids" after they ate at the Brazilian restaurant - only brutally worse and for a much longer duration), but a majority of the people in our party have been suffering from suspected Norovirus (Tested COVID-Negative). This hit us all on Sunday afternoon/night. We live in different parts of the country and this was the only meal we had together. I have been living in my bed for the past 48-hours, had to use a valuable paid day off yesterday, and was only able to work today because I can remote into my job. My sister contacted La Strada to inform them about this on Sunday and still has not heard back. Whether this was Norovirus due to someone not washing their hands properly or Gastroenteritis/Food Poisoning due to bad food, it is completely unacceptable! Just consider this before visiting La Strada as I absolutely do not wish my past 48-hours onto anyone.
I wasn’t going to write a review but after telling someone about my experience here, I figured others should know before wasting their time and money. My husband and I were originally going to dinner somewhere that doesn’t take reservations and we couldn’t get in. We decided to check out La strada instead as it was close by. When we walked in, the male older host was SO rude. He didn’t say hello or anything. Just said “no reservation?” I said no and he quite literally scoffed at my husband and I , rolled his eyes and told us to take a seat. There was an open table directly behind him so he sat us five mins later. So not sure what the issue was wish us not making a reservation? There were only 2 servers working in the entire restaurant. The male server was super nice (dark haired male) and told us he’d be right over, but no one came over for 20 more minutes. The female waitress who couldn’t seem to be bothered finally came over. She did not greet us or tell us any specials. She literally just came over and said “are you ready yet?”…. We didn’t want to wait any longer so my husband and I placed our orders right away. The food came quickly , but we waited a while for boxes when we were finished. The male server got the boxes for us. The female waitress only came back over once and we felt like we were inconveniencing her to do her job. The male server seemed to be working most of the tables himself and I felt really bad for him. He was super kind and was definitely trying his best in an understaffed restaurant. Thankfully the food was good, but due to the awful, rude and slow service we won’t be coming back here.
Delicious food, but the attitude of the waiters is terrible. they didn't have time to bring us food, and after 5 minutes they wanted to take away the plates. if you want to have dinner in 30 minutes, then you will be happy here, but if you are with a company, then I don't recommend it, after they serve the food, they will not be happy and will wait for you to leave. for an Italian restaurant this is very strange, because Italians are very attentive to food (not in a hurry) and especially to customers. I do not recommend this restaurant for enjoying food and communication, unfortunately 😔😔😔
This restaurant has all the charm and warmth of a DMV. Look elsewhere. Rude reception and forgettable food (terrible fried zucchini). Our server was very nice and accommodating, however the entire experience was rushed and awkward. The food was not good, but the worst part was that at 9 pm sharp, they turned the music off, turned the lights off and began cleaning up around us. 9 pm! Will not be returning. Recommend going to Macaroni's on Old Bustleton instead. Like seriously...go to Macaroni's.
I have heard nothing but the highest praise for this restaurant so when looking for a place to celebrate my brother‘a birthday, I made a reservation for 14 people three weeks in advance. I wanted to be certain the restaurant could accommodate our group. Upon our arrival, I was told there was no reservation but worse, the “Gentleman “ at the desk then insisted I had not made a reservation and probably had called a restaurant with a similar name. I assured him that I had in fact called LaStrada week’s earlier and produced the call log on my phone as proof. I knew there was no way they could seat 14 people without a reservation but I wanted him to know the mistake happened on their end. He continued to answer “No Way” and spoke over me, blaming me for the situation and never offering an apology. Of course we had to leave but I assure you I do not have good feelings about this establishment. I do not believe it is a good business plan to act rudely toward a customer when a mistake has been made. I had planned this night for weeks looking forward to a celebration in a nice restaurant with beautiful food and instead we were left to get takeout from another restaurant and eat at home. By the way, the restaurant that provided the take out food was thrilled to have our business and put out excellent food. Sadly, I will not trust this establishment to honor their reservations. Beware if you are planning to book there
We were given our check and paid cash but the waiter gave us the wrong check. He repeatedly came back to our table and kept asking us to check the tip since the wrong check was much lower. Never so humiliated like this anywhere. Totally embarrassed since we were treating another couple to celebrate a birthday. If a waiter makes a mistake own up to it. Will never eat at this restaurant again!!! The waiter was Jason. At minimum he should have apologized.
Had dinner at La Strada last night with friends. Other than the great company with our friends the evening from start to finish was terrible. We arrived on time for our 7:00 reservation which is an average time for dinner on a Saturday night. The man sitting at the door to take your name was unpleasant when we walked in. He didn’t greet us just asked if we were my husband’s name and pointed us towards where our friends were already seated. To start, our waitress seemed like she couldn’t wait for her night to end. She told us the specials and spoke so poorly we could barely understand her. Two of our group wanted the steak special. She came back to our table to tell us they were already out of the steak special. Our two individuals had to take time to look at the menu while she stood there waiting for a fast decision. It went further downhill after that. Our food, except for one of us was sub par. The staff was clearing off our plates while still trying to eat and have conversations. Asked for ice in a glass and had to ask several times before received. Some still eating and plates being cleared off. Finished dinner and given dessert options. One person ordered dessert and while she was still eating a staff member clears more dishes off right in front of the person eating. We were leisurely talking and the maitre’d is sitting in his chair staring at the guests who were still enjoying their evening. No smiles just a miserable man. He then comes into the middle of the room and announces they are closing and it’s time to leave. He didn’t say thank you for coming but we will be closing in (however many minutes) and instead basically kicked us out. If the staff needed to get home then maybe they shouldn’t be working the dinner shift. They were all in a rush to serve the food, clear the table and get us out. I’ve never been told to leave a restaurant because they were closing. We will NEVER be patronizing this restaurant again. If you want fast food go to Chick-fil-A! If you want to enjoy a relaxing good Italian meal DO NOT GO HERE!
We went La Strada last evening. It was 4 people in our party. Our waitress had no personality whatsoever. I believe 3 of us wanted the porterhouse steak. When the waitress came back she said that there was no more available. From there our evening went spiraling down hill. The food was just okay. Staff in the restaurant were cleaning off our table before we were done eating. So rude!!!. One of us ordered dessert and we were talking and some individual came over to us and said they are closing. Seriously?? We just spent a lot of money in your restaurant and they were kicking us out.We will never go back. The maître d was rude.
We use to come to La Strada all the time. Friends invited us Saturday night. We forgot why we stopped coming until we got to the door. A miserable, grumpy man greeted us. He created a negative video for the full night. ...stay home. Hire a fun, bubbely hostess and let is know so we can come back.
Our food was tasteless and over cooked. The appetizer mushrooms were rubbery. There was a hair in my main course. I asked for a replacement. Within a very short period of time, my replacement dish appeared.....certainly not enough time to cook a replacement dish. (I feel certain the hair was removed from the dish and then re-served to me.) I had to ask for more water. The waitress poured me more water, but didn't offer anyone else water. The bread was stale. We had eaten there a year ago and our experience was wonderful.... the food was delicious, the service was attentive. This experience was very disappointing. We will not return.
Arrived and was turned away because they were closed despite their website saying they were open and their open table page having reservations open every 15 minutes for the next 5 slots. Man at the door just blocked my path, waved his hand, and said they were closed. Seemed quite rude.
My husband booked a reservation for our anniversary a MONTH in advance (we couldn’t make it online bc it was that early) unfortunately our wedding is on Valentine’s Day hence why he made the reservation on the phone a month ahead. He explained it was our anniversary and not just Valentine’s Day. He was told we would have a nice seat. Well our anniversary came on Friday and we were very excited to celebrate at this restaurant since we live about 5 mins across the street. Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience, we walked in and told them our reservation, and they sat us in front of the door, I kindly asked if we could sit somewhere AWAY from the door, so one of the two older male hosts tried to sit us across that table by the door! We looked around and there were a lot of open tables. I told him away from the door and he said this was the best seat of the house (it was not as throughout our time there my husband watched countless couples come in and refuse that table) when we were greeted by our server no water was provided nor an ice bucket for our champagne. We thought maybe it’s bc they’re busy so we kindly asked for the waters and ice bucket. The meal was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant until we kept getting interrupted by countless servers asking my husband about 4 times if he needed a to go box (we were still in the middle of dinner) that left us a little annoyed and feeling rushed out! We paid and my husband wanted to talk to the hosts again however the host had a language barrier bc he didn’t understand when my husband explained he wanted them to check and see if there was note made on our reservation about it being our anniversary, instead he kept telling my husband to make a reservation online and add a note so they may know, my husband kept explaining he couldn’t make it online since it was a month in advance which is why he called. The food was good but did not feel welcomed nor appreciated that we made this reservation for a special occasion. Telling all my friend and family not to dine in but order take out.
