Rotisserie chicken platter was big filling and taste, and skirt steak was delicious. Ham soup was wonderful
Try any of their locations, the food is all the same. Always delicious at a great price. My go to is Pachuca a la plancha. If you haven't, order their chicharron de cerdo, you won't be disappointed! Your wallet and stomach will thank you.
I like pollos Mario's food. Very tasty and intimidating portions. You get two for one. Dinner and lunch for the next day. Prices are very reasonable. Friendly service and fun atmosphere.
I drive 45minutes and pay about 20$ in tolls to come to this exact location..prolly the best food their is! I always come and get the "Bandeja typica" every time! It's nice and cozy and the customer service is perfect all very friendly .. if u love food this is one spot you have to stop on your trip!!!!!
Columbian food is delicious. Great place to visit with friends and family to eat lunch or dine at. All dishes including seafood is awesome. They're chicken, always fresh and delicious.
I loved this place, amazing customer service. A little of a wait time but so worth it. Food was amazing, they make you feel at home.
Great food awsome service. Did i mention the rotisserie chicken is great!!! One of the best things about the place is that the staff makes you feel at home.
Amazing place, the food was really good, the service excellent and Is been the first time in my life in a restaurant that the food came so quick, just a perfect place to go and enjoy a real Colombian food!👍
Specifically, I like this restaurant from the first time I ate in that place, I really liked that food, the waiters are very attentive and friendly, they always ask if they are okay if they need something else, and the prices compared to other restaurants, this one has specific and accessible prices. and the place is clean and good environment
I’ve been enjoying the great food and service at this restaurant for over fifteen years. In general, their waitstaff are diligent and polite. We ordered café con leche last time around. Our waiter brought the coffee to our table in less than two minutes. They also serve the entrees quickly. All of the food is always excellently prepared. Everything tastes great. The prices are reasonable. Pollos Mario is an authentic latin dining experience.
I've ordered take out and sat down at this Pollo Mario and others quite a few times. Everytime I enjoy the food and service. One of my favorite things about Pollo Mario is I feel the meals are an excellent value and the portions are large. The employees are always nice and friendly - they even smile and seen happy. And during a time while most other businesses seems to be nickel and diming their customer and using inflation and covid as an excuse Pollo Mario still remains a delicious and affordable option all while remaining a delicious and almost special treat; I don't go out to eat often. I'm not sure about jackson heights but during covid the Astoria Pollo Mario was giving out meals daily and had lines wrapped around blocks to help those struggling. It's businesses like this every community needs and should support. While it's nice to see big franchises enter Jackson Heights and the surrounding areas it's places like Pollo Mario who are the fabric of it.
Great service Great food! Food came out quick! Great portions...at least for 2 ppl an easy $50 plus tips
Delish, delish, should cover it all. Portions are gynourmous. I loved the beans with rice and chicharron. Service was on point, food came out with in 7 to 10 minutes, pippin hot. A must place to visit, my first time here from Chicago, but not my last.
Every time i go to Queens that is the place i want to go to eat. So far all the different foods i have had there are really good. Service is great, they treat you like family.
Love their filet with mixed seafood in cream sauce. Delicious. We come for this dish often. We don't eat meat anymore, but we used to eat bandeja tipica when we did. Also delicious.
Highly recommend! Tasty food and good good size portions and great service. Definitely go and enjoy!
The food is fantastic, the freshest food is in the evening. Delicious and generous amounts. All Pollomario chains are great for eating! does get packed on weekends so plan accordingly
June 20, 2024, I had an unscheduled breaktime at a nearby worksite. Needing a place to sit down to enjoy the smell of cuisine for just 30 minutes, I placed an order of the smallest soup. Regardless of the order size, they were so kind to serve me. They recommended a beef soup to me. Rich flavour! The dish was full of soft meat and savory soup! I was happy. On the check-out, it was just $5 something. Should be an error. I just left 10 bucks to say thanks. For my next chance, I would spare an hour and half.
Hi All, I’ve been coming to this specific restaurant for years And by experience I could share some thoughts about this restaurant. Best pollos Marios of all and I’ve been to almost all in Queens This is the place where I get my Colombian fix. One of the best frijoles you can get outside colombia. Thick, creamy and flavorful, big round beans cargamanto or bola roja variety.. you don’t find that quality in very many restaurants. The portions.. you better come hungry to this place, this is no French restaurant, you gotta see the chicharrón they serve, that itself is a meal. My wife loves their cazuela de mariscos, I love any of the combination with chicharrón and frijoles I see a lot of people order and enjoy fry fish which I still have to try Anyway, Their prices are super economical compared to many restaurants in the area and NY in general, last night diner for two: frijoles con garra for me. My wife went for arroz con pollo y entraña + two beer. all for $70 bucks !! And leftover to take home for lunch at work or calentado next day Keep in mind this is a place to seat and eat good food and go. No black aprons or fabric table cloths, the service is fast and fast they keep it. They spect you eat, enjoy and leave .. that’s how they keep the low prices. The servers work a lot very long shifts so try to be mindful when they make a mistake, the guys in the kitchen too work hard. So tip well and have a good time I have no affiliation to this place and don’t even know anyone by name I just like coming here for good fresh authentic Colombian food
Street parking is available. There is no bar, but some beers are sold. The food is delicious, and I highly recommend the seafood rice. It is priced at $28, but it is a generous portion that can easily serve two people.
been a family staple quality hasn’t changed a bit since the 2010’s! restaurant always nice and clean, servers funny and welcoming. in the heart of a colombian melting-pot town. prices are fair too.
Haven't been here in a few years and this place is amazing to me. Living in GA and coming down to nyc for vacation and being able to try Spanish food is amazing. Glad I got to go to one of my favorite spots before heading back home. I would recommend to everyone here and those that just visit too. Best place for me.
If you want good Colombian food with all your favorites. This is the place to visit. They serve you plenty of food. So you will have leftovers the next day. Only problem is parking in the area.
love love love this place. i’ve been coming here since I was a kid and have always loved their chicken, rice, and beans—really, no other place makes beans quite like them. the seating area is so cute and there’s such a great atmosphere.
Excellent and delicious Colombian delicacies, you'll enjoy everything on the menu. Highly recommend this restaurant and it's staff, the portions are large so bring your appetite and have a great meal.
From the time you walk in, you see the authenticity. You're escorted to your table warmly and the service is amazing from start to finish. The ambience is wonderful including the music and the decorations which make it look like a farm house. Love the food! Amazing always!
Excellent service Food typical Colombian dishes Server franklyn was very helpful Food came out fast and hot. Taste of the food is amazing (not salty) Price is awesome and portion is reasonable. Keep up the good work!!! Yes will refer friends to eat here.
Food was delicious & authentic. One of those awesome "hole in the wall" finds that make traveling so delightful. I absolutely LOVE Colombian cuisine, & will definitely go back when I return to NYC!!!
We’ve been coming here for over a decade.. so many times I forget. I literally cannot remember one time there was ever a problem. They always get our order right and bring it to the table pretty fast! The servers are always very nice & make sure to ask how your meal is and refill your drinks. They run this place well. The price is really good for the amount of food you get, too. I heard this is like the Latin Denny’s and I love it lol. Everyone who visits us in NYC has come here and also enjoyed it a lot as well. Solid 5.
Delicious food. Custom service nice. Colombian food 🥑 family atmosphere
Pollos mario it's always a good idea and I really like this location, the staff is always so accommodating ( I usually go with my big family) and super attentive. The food is always tasty and they won't have you waiting for a long time. Bathrooms are clean and the music is always a vibe too.
This location is unique When it comes with how they attend their customers How ever. I'm Sad to say that I will be missing my Dear friend Rest in peace Mr Carlos the Man I meet at the restaurant who was in charge of the place as manager. Descansa en Paz mi Hermano
Great restaurant, may have to wait for a table at certain times but it does pay off with delicious food that may very well be the few places that feels like home-cooked food.
I placed an order today for delivery 🚚.My food was warm and delicious. The soup 🍲 excellent 👌 and my rice and beans very good. I usually eat at the restaurant but today I wanted to eat at home. The delivery guy very friendly 😀 I'm happy
My Go-To Spot for Colombian Flavor! Pollo Mario is hands down one of my favorite places to eat! The first time I came here to try Colombian food, I was a little nervous—I’m Dominican and super picky with my taste—but the food was absolutely delicious. It completely won me over! I don’t come often, but every time I do, I leave satisfied. The portions are generous, the flavor is on point, and the service has always been welcoming. It’s one of those spots where you know what you’re getting—great food and a good experience every time. If you’re looking to try something new or already love Colombian cuisine, Pollo Mario is a must. It’s officially my go-to restaurant when I’m craving something flavorful and filling.
Pollos Mario has a very traditional Colombian criollo atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. I stopped by to get a roasted chicken to go, and the experience was excellent. The chicken was delicious, juicy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Definitely a place I recommend if you want to enjoy authentic roasted chicken.
The Location Is Pretty Much A Landmark. I Have Ate Every Item On The Menu. Its all Great!! Lots Of Comfort Food And Very Soulful. The Prices I Would Say Are Reasonable Due To Everything Always Being Fresh And Made On The Fly. The Abient Is Clean And The Staff Is Very Friendly. There's Never A Bad Time For Pollos Mario. They Accept Credit Card, Which Is Major Now-a-Days. A Picture is Provided For Every Item On The Menu. There Are Two More Smaller Ones Walking Distances From Each Other.
We went here for Chicken. It was delicious and really reasonable prices. The place is clean and neat, bathrooms were clean. They have a sister place on Long Island and it is very different. We live close to the one on long island. Columbian Chicken is really good. I really enjoyed myself.
I was here twice in my life, once about a decade ago, and again this week. The food, well you better get ready to eat, because the plates are absolutely massive! Pricing is fair but it's worth it. Our server was really helpful I had the Bandeja típica, which consisted of bistek, pork belly, rice, beans, plantain, and arepa. Everything was delicious! I ordered myself a lulo, sorry if the spelling is wrong, for a drink, it was really tasty and filling. I definitely recommend coming here if your in NYC, and want some local cuisine straight from the barrio!
Today my friend and I went to POLLOS A LA BRASA MARIO #2. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lighting and atmosphere are great. They have outdoors seating and limited indoors seating. As we enter the door our temperature were checked, we were given a printed form to write our names, address and phone# for contact tracing . I appreciate the amount of precautions they are taking to prevent the spread of Covid-19 during this unprecedented time. The food were delicious and the portion size were very good. I recommend this place for some comfort colombian food.
Excellent authentic Colombian food ! They have many typical dishes from Colombia . Their rotisserie style chicken is amazing ! My favorite is their Bandeja tipica , which comes with steak , rice , beans , pork , and an egg . I been eating at this restaurant for over a decade Never been disappointed .
Usually always good food here. There are a few locations and all of them cook about the same quality of food. The food came out crazy fast and the service was on point. 44 dolls for 2 people is pretty cheap considering NYC prices. Update...Fri August 28. I'm not taking away any stars but we ordered similar food items as last time and both came out way over cooked and almost black in color. I should of returned it but I ate most of it anyway because I thought it would be ok but it wasn't. Next time please if the food is that burnt don't serve it to the customer because it ruined the good first time I had.
Always great food, I visit Colombia once or twice a year and the food here is pretty on par. I always have breakfast with my wife on 81st and Roosevelt and dinner and 83rd and 36 ave location.
good food , very good atencion and service 👌
Great food and prices. Must try the Bandeja Paisa typical Colombian dish with steak rice bean sweet plantains chicarron (fry pork skin) avocado and fried egg. Make sure you hungry always big portions.
very great spot, a lot of food for the price and food comes at a rapid pace. Overall the food is pretty good.
The food is good but the but the overall experience was ok. First, the music at the establishment was to loud I had to raise my voice for 45 minutes to speak to my family in addition, I told the waitress if she could lower the music but she didn’t do anything about it. Second, no one clean the dirty plates I had to put all the plates in one side which it made uncomfortable because of the space limitation. The manager should know that a restaurant is not a bar or night club to blast the music on customers.
This has been a neighborhood stable for many years. The food is spot on. Great chicken, the rice and beans are always consistently tasty. Worth a stop if you want some good food.
I've been here before, and really like the ambiance. For some reason, on my visit yesterday, the 1/2 chicken i ordered was dry. I hope this is a one time! But great service, prices, portions.
The food is authentic here. Always cooked good. The place is clean. The only reason I gave it 4 starts is because every now and then the wait staff seems a little bothered. Not all of them. I've been here a handful of times.
The food is always good even though sometimes they don't have certain items you want on the menu. It would also be nice if the staff spoke a little more English to cater to their English-speaking customers. The language barrier makes for incorrect orders. But again, the food is great and the staff is courteous even if we don't understand one another.
Food ordered to go. The tostones were dry and old, but the Cazuela de Mariscos is consistently fantastic. A bit pricey but I always love it. Fresh tostones please!
Delicious food ! Excellent service, friendly staff.. good prizes !!
I've been coming here since I was a kid in the 90's consistency in taste has kept them a staple in our neighborhood. El churrasco es una delicia 😋
Best rotisserie chicken around imo.
Food hands down delicious. However if you do not speak Spanish, best to point to a picture, went on a Saturday, great service, went on a Tuesday evening, the server kept telling me they do not have rotisserie chicken ( which they kept calling grilled?) It was painful! messed my order up 3 times! All I wanted was all dark meat chicken! But , food is worth the struggle.
Great menu and service. The natural juices as in all restaurants are overpriced! About your reply; I totally understand that prices are shown in the menu; however, this does not change the fact that they are overpriced. I am not saying that it was a surprise, I am affirming it and this is true for 99% of the restaurants. Thank you!
This is a happy spot, don’t expect anything fancy, you come in for Spanish food and good drinks. Service here a hit or miss. Sometimes the server forgets that they have a table 😂 but then they see you and run to you. It has happen to me more than twice. It wasn’t busy. But the guy was friendly and don’t forget anything on the order. Food is ok for what you pay, big portions. Only thin with the food was that the beans sauce was too watery and the salad look like it wilted a few days ago. Other than that the rest of the food was on par. Alcohol drinks here are good, same with the natural juices they sell. I’ll come back again hoping the server don’t forget his clients 😂
It's a nice place to have a casual dinner in a typical Colombian restaurant. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. The only problem here is the service is not on point. You always have to call the waitress for things they should already be doing. Other than that great value for the price.
I ordered Country plater(Bandeja Campesina) ,I ask por egg well done look like the don't read the order the egg was uncooked the chicharrón,they sent me was terrible I can eat it was really burned look like the made it last week!!
Food was great and everything but the waitress we had was so plain I think he could do better
Same service/food quality as the one on Broadway and Steinway. Good staff, clean place. Water could have been a little bit colder. Had the traditional plate and a plate of grilled breast/fries/rice/salad and it was good. Price is ok.
If your in Jackson heights, queens this place is a must for some Colombian food. The price is reasonable and delicious. The only down fall it get real crowded when dining in.
Was craving pollos Mario’s entraña steak for dinner and I came to this location , the area is a really good spot for family and friends. The service was fast and efficient with the waiters being very nice , like in every Pollos Mario. The only negative part was the food I had ordered a entraña steak medium rare . When my food arrived it was more like well done than medium rare which really bothered me because I couldn’t enjoy it as I would have liked. Besides that very good spot to come with family and friends to enjoy some Colombian food.
I visited this place 6 years ago!and I went back on 8/10/22, my Goodness, :it's not the same as it used to be; rice, yuca and arepa, a great deal of carbohydrates.A lot of sugar, not a good idea. We spent $70 dollars. The food is not the same as it used to be. I noticed that the waitress put a lot of emphasis on the tip and they make sure the tip has to be significant big.......
Place was clean, service was okay, I didn't like my order, my boyfriend liked his food but I barely ate my dish. Perhaps other dishes were better. I got the breaded chicken. The rice and beans were good. Chicken was what I didn't like.
They do not pay attention. They can care less about customer service. First they did not want to take my pick up order, second they gave me a cold arepa, and third I specifically told them exactly what kind of meat I wanted in my soup and they did the complete opposite. Then when you don't tip them well they get upset. Seriously improve your services please.
Please pay your workers more one of them got visibly upset at me when I didn't tip for a take out order with my credit card and as a result punished me with only one little sauce cup for a whole chicken. Food was okay not much better than the competition that has much better service. Times are tough for everyone don't punish the paying customer if they choose not to donate extra money for basic service such as bagging.
Food was ok, the portions were less than what we usually get. Our waiter seemed annoyed/angry since the second we were seated and he never came to check on us after we got our food. We had another employee who was helpful when we asked for green sauce and a to-go container.
Great food, kind staff but don't like how they pack the SALAD together with the rice (thats hot) ??? I got home to my salad being all soggy and bad. They should pack the salad ALONE to preserve its freshness. Upset. I had to throw it out and had to try to enjoy my meal without a salad.
I love the food from this place!!! But their customer service on the phone is really bad!!
A Tuesday and the WORST service ever in Jackson Heights PLUS it was empty, which means, I do not imagine during a weekend. It was my mom birthday and I am really disappointing by this Colombian restaurant. Bartender was fixing her hair at the bar, waitresses tons of talking and the manager NEVER approach to the table to introduce the new restaurant. I will not probably going back.
I ordered to pick up., Salty and burned Chicken (and is not the first time). beans taste like something burned inside them, the chicken soup salty as well..!! They give you Just one (1) super small container of that green hot sauce for the whole chicken, and not even full. ! Not good 👎
I placed a pick-up order and when I came to pick up my food, communication was a little tricky 'cause nobody in there can speak English. One staff member was offended that I couldn't understand him, and he literally asked me why I didn't learn Spanish, lol! Food was half decent but they could dial back a little on the racism.
I was here with my husband Friday, February 28, 2020. We ordered guacamole for appetizer and the main dish. At first I was eating my salad, and there was a huge piece of plastic. We told them, and they said:”sorry” Then... my husband while he was eating guacamole, what a surprise! It was a little piece of bone there. Again, we told them and... they say... “really”!? We asked them to remove the guacamole from the bill, he smiled and ignored us. We are not complainers or reviewers, but we felt very disrespected. Please, avoid visiting this place.
The picada was terrible was more plátano and yuca no meat only 3 pieces! I’m definitely not recommend this site also they didn’t have no hot sauce 😡
They don’t tell consumers if they post notes denying their service
This place has terrible customer service. They don’t even serve water for the table, if you ask for it they’ll just bring overpriced bottled water. The waiter just rushes you throughout the meal. Even with the restaurant being empty. Don’t waste your money here. Unpleasant service! Also the ground beef doesn’t even taste like beef. Not tasty at all!
Order for take out, recieved an attitude from front. He kept repeating buenas noches, buenas noches, when I stated Hola twice. When I was waiting on my food I received looks and felt discriminated. Received food, was asked if I wanted sauces or spices, I said no spices just ketchup. When I return to my work place I had no eating utensil. Like if I’m suppose to eat with my hands. I returned to the restaurant and said I did not receive any utensil, he stated he asked me when he ask when if I wanted spice. Just an excuse. If this is a restaurant why are they giving people an hard time for take out. On top, no napkin, I don’t know what customer service they’re giving. Occurred 2/27/24 @ 7 pm ish
My family and I been visiting this restaurant for almost 10 years. last night we decided to go for dinner but we are so disappointed with the service we received from the waitress, unfortunately she had a passive aggressive attitude and seemed to get annoyed when we requested few things like lime which she said they only had one left, hot sauce, etc. my sisters plate (grilled chicken breast) arrived super late without any apology. The food was okay but we won’t be visiting or recommending this place again.
I ordered for pickup cause I lived far and I was passing through. When I got home I was so disappointed. It was 30$ for piles of yuca and potatoes and I called to see what they could do for me, and the manager said maybe the meat was under everything 🙄🙄 even after sending them this video. They give the worst food when it’s for pickup and they don’t care. Wouldn’t come back here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
