We sneaked in quickly on the way to the next winery. The picturesque courtyard and sun terrace were impressive. But since Father Frost was already idling, we decided to sit inside instead. The ambiance is very rustic, yet everything is modern, and you can choose your food directly at the deli counter. The wine selection won't disappoint even the quick drinker.

A very chic, typically Austrian restaurant with excellent wine and delicious cold dishes. The focus is on the wine; there are no hot dishes. However, you can put together your own snack board and have enough for a full meal. The Pino Grigio was particularly delicious.

We're in the center of Caldaro, the restaurant is housed in an ancient building. The atmosphere is quaint and traditional, refined, and welcoming. We spent a wonderful evening in the shady Torgglkeller in Kaltern. The view is outstanding, our server was very attentive, and all the dishes were top-notch. Everyone loved the sausage salad. Thanks to the entire team for a fantastic evening!

We had a great time yesterday at the Torgglkeller in Kaltern. They offer cold snack platters that you can put together yourself. Alternatively, you can get a mixed platter based on the house's recommendations. We particularly enjoyed the bacon tartare. The service was friendly and quick. The terrace is very lovingly decorated. The view of the mountains and the rooftops of Kaltern is beautiful. Even in bad weather, the Torgglkeller is a great place to visit. We'll definitely be back!

The Torgglkeller Kaltern is centrally located in the heart of Kaltern, not far from the market square. Nestled idyllically in a courtyard, it offers a truly lovely Mediterranean atmosphere. Drinks can be ordered at your table, while the (exclusively cold) food is ordered inside at the counter. We ordered a Torggl platter for two and were absolutely delighted. Everything tasted delicious and was beautifully presented. Bread must be purchased separately; two large slices and a Vinschgerl roll were perfectly sufficient for us. We had a wonderful spring evening at the Torgglkeller and would gladly return – reservations are recommended. Finally, it should be noted that the view of the lake is minimal and only available from two large tables – but even without the lake view, a truly lovely atmosphere has been created.

I hadn't been here in a few years. It's been renovated with new accessories, cushions, and table lamps. There's a pleasant modern touch that fits perfectly with the typical antique furnishings, steeped in the culture of times gone by. The welcome is always pleasant, when you're in the mood for a delicious platter of bread and excellent wine. The various rooms with tables are all well-kept, and the veranda is well-kept and welcoming. I had an excellent cheese platter...an excellent Lagrein, and...the important thing is that it's a great place to be after a day of walking and hiking...it's the perfect stop. The staff is kind...and very patient with me 😉 I'm just a few kilometers from home and I'll be back again, more often now. I love you

Uno dei pochi posti aperti fino a tardi per pranzare. Ottimo vino e taglieri di prodotti locali e si gode di una vista meravigliosa.

Adatto per gli adulti con grande varietà di vino, si mangia all'aperto. C'è uno spazio adatto ai bambini ben rifornito. I camerieri sono molto gentili e attenti. Si mangia bene, da specificare che i taglieri erano molto capienti e con un ottimo prezzo. Per 6 persone ho speso 73 euro che relativamente é poco. Il ristorante non molto facile da vedere perché ha una insegna un po' coperta dalla vegetazione.

Make a reservation in advance, by all means. The covered terrace offers a beautiful view of Kaltern and the surrounding area, which can be opened from the top and the side in good weather. Great products for a nice, good, delicious snack platter, and perhaps freshly baked bread. You can put together your own plates or boards. But be careful. There are no prices listed anywhere... except on the drinks menu. It's best to get the beginner's platter with ham, cheese, minced ham, etc., or a sausage salad. Otherwise, you'll be in for a surprise at the end...

A beautiful spot. There's a courtyard and a terrace. They offer delicious snack platters. You can put together your own bread. Unfortunately, the homemade bread was out today. You have to ask for butter. The service was friendly. Food and drinks are brought to your table; you only have to order the food inside. Unfortunately, a couple who spent two hours reading reviews, just waiting for a mistake, was annoying. Do such "guests" realize how much damage this can cause? Otherwise, the ambiance was very charming. Highly recommended!

A snack at the Torgglkeller is a must for me on every visit to Kaltern. The platter is delicious and the view is phenomenal. It's become a bit touristy and on the pricier side, but still absolutely top-notch. I'll be back. :-)

Il posto serve solo piatti freddi: taglieri di formaggi, affettati, insalate. Al banco dei salumi si ordinano e pagano le pietanze. Fuori in terrazzo, dove ci si siede, si ordinano le bevande ed i vini. Anche i pagamenti sono fatti separatamente… se non siete alto atesini scordatevi prontezza di servizio o cordialità. Abbiamo aspettato più per pagare il vino che che per mangiare.. pulire e rassettare i tavoli evidentemente è una priorità. Il cibo non è nulla di che, e pagato a caro prezzo: un tagliere di formaggi per due, due insalate, tre panini, un piatto di antipasti misti (=sottaceti): 60 eur. Un quartino di vino e una bottiglia di acqua: 10 eur - totale 70 eur. Due stelle solo per la location

Rarely have I eaten so badly and overpriced!!! The "meat platter" for €14 plus €3 for two stale rolls (not the rustic bread one would normally expect) is a joke!!! I can't comment on the taste of the super-thin slices of ham and salami; they were so thin they were practically indistinguishable. For that price, there was NO butter, NO pickle, just a few paper-thin slices of radish, which at least weren't salted. My conclusion: I bought two rolls at the supermarket around the corner and topped them with 30 grams of ham; it would cost a maximum of €3 instead of €17 at the Torgglkeller self-service counter!!! Simply appalling and a tourist trap! Torgglkeller Kaltern's response: With your unprofessional and rude tone, you have done your business more harm than good. We would also like to clarify that parts of your account are incorrect. 1. At no point in the restaurant did we read reviews aloud or disturb other guests. This claim is untrue and appears to be an attempt to discredit our criticism instead of addressing it objectively. A professional establishment should not respond to criticism with fabricated accusations. We calmly and politely pointed out the shortcomings to the waiter—who was only serving the wine, as the snack platter was self-service. Aside from the comment, "I'll pass it on to management," there was no further response. 2. Our behavior in the restaurant was always calm, professional, and unobtrusive. Your portrayal of us as disruptive and rude is therefore unfounded. Such accusations are not only inappropriate but also unprofessional and, in our opinion, speak volumes about your treatment of guests. 2. 3. Our rating is based solely on the value for money, and for clearly understandable reasons: – €17 for a significantly undersized portion – stale rolls instead of fresh bread – no side dishes such as butter or vegetables – barely perceptible, paper-thin slices of sausage These points are objectively verifiable and legitimate grounds for complaint. Our rating reflects our actual experience—and we stand by it. We categorically reject your insinuations. In our opinion, anyone reading your response should think carefully before visiting your restaurant. With this clarification, we consider the matter closed.
