A great Italian restaurant with a few different rooms divided for a cozy environment. Our waiter Chad was excellent and all the staff were friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious, Fettuccine Alfredo, Vodka Sauce Gnocchi with Grilled Chicken. Your table gets free bread and butter that is delicious, but highly recommend adding the dipping oil with fresh basil as an appetizer. We went early around 3-4pm on a Sunday and were seated quickly, but by the time we left it was busy so a reservation may be helpful for dinner.

Carly was the absolute best!!! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and it really made the whole experience. She was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Food was also delicious! The decorations inside the restaurant are absolutely gorgeous. There was zero wait despite it being 6pm during KC restaurant week. Overall amazing service from the staff.

Let me just say, the food, delicious! Service, outstanding! They made us feel very welcome and the Atmosphere, was just lovely! My family and I stopped in for dinner and as busy as it was we were seated right away. We will most definitely be back for another delicious dinner!

A very pleasant experience. Attentive staff and tasty food. I ate to overfilled. Bread and dipping oil is hard to stop eating. I had the red and white lasanga after having the best crispiest, not rubbery calamari I have ever had. Meatballs with sauce (gravy) and cheese. Dessert was a fine ice cream and tiramisu as well. Don’t forget the Peroni beer. And a cappachino. Loved it.

We came in for the Osso Buco but that was sold out, so my wife had to "settle" for the boneless pork chops... which isn't settling at all. It was excellent! I had the Johnny's Platter...very tasty! We both are leaving with enough leftovers for another meal. Friendly staff and they offer a military / veteran discount.

Best Italian restaurant in Kansas City! Always a GREAT experience!! The food is always fresh and tasteful!! Carla is the best! Always has a smile and treats everyone wonderfully! Jimmy came out and said hello to us! I’ve been trying to meet him and he was gracious to come out and meet. What a wonderful place to break bread! Thank you Jimmy, Carla and staff for always giving us a most amazing dining experience!!

Niece treated my mother and I to our birthday lunch at Cascone’s today. Amazing service, spectacular ambiance and food that would make Gordon Ramsey blush!

Service is top notch. Shout out to Allen Get the Osso Bucco. Sub the gnocchi. Probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had in my life. It wouldn’t even stay on the spoon and just melted in my mouth. Definitely will be back. A lot.

Food and Service was amazing. Highly recommend the fried mozzarella as an appetizer. The Vodka Chicken Parmigana was sooo good. Service is top notch and everything you would expect at a great italian restaurant.

We’ve heard about this place a while now and finally went, now we’re wondering why it took us so long to come here! The food was SO good! Everyone loved what they got (big fave was lobster ravioli) and we will definitely be back! Loved the decorations and twinkle lights in every room. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Service was quick and great and food was very fresh! Next time we’re going to buy some pasta sauce on the way out. We bought some cookies and enjoyed every one of them.

Party of 9 had reservations for a Saturday night at 7pm. We were seated quickly. It was very busy so the reservations were an excellent idea, highly recommend especially with a large party. Our waiter was on point and made sure we received the house bread and drinks in a timely manner. The complimentary bread was served hot and with butter. Some folks ordered cocktails which were delivered to the table in an adequate amount of time. Most of us ordered from the specials menu. The red and white lasagna was delicious. This was one of the best family owned Italian restaurant experiences I've enjoyed. Be prepared for a busy, bustling restaurant on the weekends.

I was in town for a conference and a friend highly recommended this restaurant. It had wonderful food and handmade pasta! They make their own sauce too, my friend and I bought 10 jars to take home and the kind staff even carried it out to our car for us! It's a true family run business. Would love to go again next time I'm in town.

The Italian Nachos are truly one of the best appetizers in all of Kansas City!!! Chicken Parm, and Chicken Limonata were both a 10/10. Great service and beautiful atmosphere!

Classic Italian food at its best! They have all the traditional dishes— we always have lasagna, and this time we also had a chicken special of the day, and then tiramisu for dessert. All excellent! Hubby has been coming here for 50+ years (he started young!). Love that this place is still run by the same family, and food is prepared fresh. Great service as well (thank you, Randy!).

Cascone's has been one of my KC favorites for years and they never have disappointed. It got the Veal Parmesan and my wife got the Fruite De Mare special which included a half a lobster tail. I tasted the sauce with a piece of their amazing Italian bread and it was one of the best I've had. My veal was probably one of the largest I have ever gotten, was cooked perfectly tender and served over a generous portion of spaghetti. Soooo good!

My grandmother and I came in early in the evening. We were guided to a table almost immediately despite not having a reservation and the seat was nice because we got a good view of everything happening around us. Our server went above and beyond: constantly checking in if we needed anything and asking how the food tasted as well as boxing up our food for us. The food was extraordinarily delicious, definitely not store bought sauce! I kept thinking how I’d love to bring more of my family in the future. Thank you for a great meal and excellent service!

My husband took me out for my birthday. It was so busy. I highly recommend getting a reservation. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious too. I can't wait to go back.

Love Cascone’s! Feels like you’re going to dinner at your families house. Tastes like a delicious home cooked meal and the service was great.

For anyone who believes you’ve had a good Italian food, my only question is, have you been to Cascone’s? Because if the answer is no, I truly don’t think you have. From the elegant atmosphere, the nice place settings and engaging friendly staff, they set expectations high as soon as you walk in the door. Carla took wonderful care of us and the meal was one of the best I have ever had. The stuffed mushrooms were so well cooked and tasty they melted in your mouth, the meatballs were deliciously seasoned and the lasagna just blew me away. I was so impressed I had to thank the manager not once but twice. And I never do that. I just felt so grateful honestly. Grateful to experience something so very very good and treated so warmly. It was joy. And joy on a plate in a restaurant chain world does not exist. Joy does exist in a small business that must be experienced to be believed and fully supported.

If you’ve been around Kansas City (specifically the Northland) for any length of time Cascone’s is a name you’ll hear fairly frequently and is generally spoken with a culinary reverence of sorts. Having lived here my whole life and only had it through various catered events or through their excellent sauce that can be purchased at the grocery store, my wife and I finally took the opportunity to experience the real deal. We specifically took advantage of their restaurant week menu and were thoroughly impressed. Starting with an old fashioned and a glass of rosé to drink we enjoyed a spread of various olives and cheeses, fresh bread, and a delicious dipping oil. Everything was well presented and portioned. A very good start that we were too hungry to bother taking pictures of. Our choice of a Caesar or Italian salad with house dressing followed that. We got one of each. The house dressing was far better than your standard Italian dressing most places trot out and the Caesar salad was tossed in the perfect amount of dressing. I had the seafood risotto and my wife enjoyed the Bistecca Spedini Sara Ann. The risotto was billed as the best you’ll ever eat, and it did not disappoint. Creamy and loaded with shrimp and lobster (and a hearty dash of Parmesan at my request). I’ll be daydreaming about it until our next chance to go back. The Spedini was excellent as well. Excellently cooked steak laced with cheese and other seasonings and paired with a garnish of pepperoncini slices. I tried a few bites and enjoyed it, but was happy with my choice. The final course was our choice of dessert. My wife chose the cannoli and I went with the cheesecake. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. The perfect end to an excellent evening. The atmosphere and the service were excellent. That’s something worth noting as seemingly all restaurants struggle with staffing. My wife noted that the spacing between the various courses was perfect; Never overwhelmed by food but never left wondering where the next course was. We were checked on often, our drinks never ran dry, and our leftover food was boxed up for us ready for the trip home. Thank you all for the wonderful evening! We can’t wait to come back.

This was our first time at Cascone’s. The atmosphere was warm yet noisy with lots of traffic. Not a surprise that it was packed on a Saturday evening. It took awhile to order and the wait staff was pretty relaxed. We had to flag down waiters to take our order, refill water, and get a second round of drinks. Not an upscale experience, which is fine if you know what to expect and most importantly, because the food is delicious! The stuffed mushrooms were incredibly large and so flavorful. The Tortellini Savina Marie was good but the linguine and clams was amazing! Highly recommend sharing food with your party as there are too many delicious options. They were also very accommodating with special food requests (allergies). Highly recommend!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Kansas City, home of the best Chicken Parmesan. It’s so hard to order anything but that even though they have many great dishes and I love their sauces. My daughter always gets the gnocchi in vodka sauce which it is the best gnocchi I’ve ever eaten too. The service isn’t always the greatest but it’s not the worst either. I love the atmosphere because it’s old school Italian and brings back memories of younger days. I love this place and the flavors and food are consistent and timeless. We went on Valentines for my most recent visit and they had it decorated very nice.

Cascone’s night have been my favourite Restaurant Week meal even as Take Out. Their dessert was a full order compared to a quarter sized dessert.

My husband and I are both from N.Y. We both have had their Veal Parm several times. I can honestly say theirs is fantastic. The chef at the one off Metcalf is great, so is the staff. We'll be back before long.

Holy smokes this place is awesome!!! Wow everything was so good. I had the sausage dinner it was terrific. My wife had the Italian Flag... All delicious. I think the red sauce is better than the Alfredo. Thanks for supper Cascones!

This place always serves it up hot and delicious. The best Italian in KC easily! Our service was fantastic (thanks Javon!) even on a busy homecoming weekend Saturday night. The Chicken Limonata Elaina and red sangria were perfect, calamari was breaded beautifully and served with fresh lemon and sugo. Exceptional experience as always!

First time. Quite the experience, old school atmosphere, great food that is traditional and tasty. Owners are visible and you can tell by the attentive nature and care they have for their reputation! Lasagna, Spadini and Chicken Parm were all very good. Ceasar Salad was excellent.

Came here yesterday with my partner to celebrate our anniversary, and our servers name was Jovan. He was the sweetest, kindest, most attentive server ever. He made the experience so wonderful. Every time I come here I have a great time, but Jovan knocked it out of the park.

This is my family's favorite restaurant to go to! I am not really a fan of Italian food, but I can get behind this! I love it! I normally get the Chicken Limonata with fettuccine alfredo, but this last time I got the veal limonata instead and MY GOODNESS!!!!! It was so dang tasty! Great service, great food and great ambiance. Definitely would recommend! It's a KC classic! :)

This is my third birthday in a row of this very wonderful restaurant. Very old world vibe. Amazing food, big portions, wonderful crowd of people in the services is really good. Actually, the service could have been tad better. But overall, it's a definite 5 star experience

I was running behind so I called ahead to let them know I would be late. They told me no problem just get here when I can. When I arrived it was busy but it only took them 10 minutes to sit us. Our waiter, Steve, was quick behind us to make sure we had water and to let us know he’d be back soon to grab our order. The food came out quicker than I expected for how busy it was. The food was great and Steve was awesome too. Very nice and friendly while also rushing around to his other tables to make sure everyone had everything they needed. Would definitely come again!

We've been fortunate enough to get Tyler as our server more than once. His recommendations are on point and he seems so comfortable to be around. Excellent food, excellent service. Don't take a chance with another place if you want something amazing. Never a bad experience at Cascone's.

The Italian food here is authentic and great! From the fresh bread before to the dessert it is all wonderful. I had the fettuccine alfredo and the sauce was delicious to the last drop. However my favorite part was the decadent lemon cake that was just the right amount of lemon and perfect!

We did 3 carry out orders for a work Christmas dinner. The lady who helped me on the phone I believe was Brenda, she was nothing but great to me thru the whole process! The food was amazing and their ranch dressing was to die for! Definitely will be going back on my own time!

First time visiting this restaurant. Friendly staff and delicious food. With wanting to try a little of the favorites, my wife and I both ordered the Italian Flag (lasagna, chicken parmigiana and fettuccine alfredo) and each item was great. Portion size was enough to bring home some for lunch the next day. Our waiter was Randall and he was helpful with our selections and he was attentive to our needs. We will definitely be going here again.

The food! 🤌The kind of place that is great for a casual lunch, family dinner, or date night! Amazing food and reasonable priced! The people thst work there make you feel like you are at home. My new go to when im in town. Tuesday has a fried chicken special that will make you question Grandma's cooking. I'm a southern boy and that a pretty bold statement. I highly recommend.

We had a group of ten and our server Carla was fantastic. The food was fresh and tasted great. I personally recommend the veal limonata, but you can't go wrong with any dish served there. It's one of the oldest Italian restaurants in KC for a reason!

Absolutely loved it! This was my first time going. Went for Valentine's Day with my husband and they treated us so well. We did make a reservation. We had the chicken spindini and clam linguine. It was amazing and the price was wonderful we got a bottle of prosecco and the garlic oil dip it was 109$ before tip. The host was wonderful. I loved the way they had control of the restaurant. It was a wonderful time highly recommend.

We had a wonderful dinner at Cascone’s Restaurant, starting with bread and Sicilian oil, a crisp Caesar salad, and a refreshing Jimmy Apple red sangria, followed by a perfectly crispy Veal Parmigiana with their signature sugo sauce for a classic Italian experience.

Great atmosphere with a very attentive wait staff. Plenty of options from sandwiches to chicken spiedini. Very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking and very welcoming decor.

Not a bad Italian restaurant. Best described as Italian comfort food. The waitress was very nice but maybe a bit scattered. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was pretty good.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere. It seemed like tables could be spaced out more not much room to move about if it was fully seated. Our server was well mannered and on point with refills and checked on us every so often. Prices are decent for Italian food. I ordered the dinner lemon chicken elaina with house Alfredo and noodles. Very flavorful with hint of lemon in each bit that paired perfectly. My man order the Italian flag. Very robust tomato sauce my fav was the chicken parmaigiana and Alfredo noodles. The lasagna was good but lacking a meaty, cheesy, tomato flavor.

Everything we had was good and the staff made an extraordinary effort to take care of all our special requests However, as someone who does not eat dairy products it was difficult to find things on the menu I could eat. I tried two of the special cocktails and both were of good quality. Several of us opted to take desert home with us and I believe everyone was pleased One caveat, the two of us spent $170 for dinner so you may want to save it for special occasions. The restaurant has been around for decades and has a certain retro charm that many will find appealing

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening. The waiter was kind but very busy. We both had a glass of wine. I had a basic Alfredo dish and my husband had a spicy red sauce pasta. Both bland. I added grilled chicken to my dish, for $7, and it was like 5 strips of dry chicken. After tip it was $100. Not worth the money. The atmosphere is cool. Waiter did the best he could as busy as he was. This is our second swing at this place. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

J

Nothing special. Average at best. Luke warm food. The chicken parm tasted like it was fried in the morning and not fresh. The fettuccine Alfredo came out cold. Truly nothing special about this restaurant. Had high hopes. The atmosphere made you think you were in for an experience. Not so much.

Cascone’s North Oak has lost its charm. It’s been about a year since we’ve been and remembered the last visit was a table in the bar. This time we were seated in the middle dining room for a late lunch around 2:30. The front entry was cold and uninviting with a half used bag of driveway salt on the bottom shelf of the credenza that showcased an old flower arrangement. Doors dirty. The hostess was chewing food when she asked “how many”. They have divided the restaurant up into closed off sections and it felt very claustrophobic. Our server was handling several tables and seemed stretched without apology. We skipped the lunch menu which was a small printed paper in an 8x10 clear document sleeve and ordered from the regular menu. The grape tomatoes in the salad were frozen however the bagged salad lettuce was cold and crisp, the “blue cheese” dressing tasted of mayonnaise. Had pasta bowls and while we had enough, the servings were small. The meat sauce was mostly ground meat with a trace of tomato base. The spaghetti was overdone and with a meatball and some mushrooms it swam in watery sauce until the pasta absorbed it and got even softer. We were not immediately offered Parmesan and when the server did come by to ask she spooned it out of a to-go container covered with Saran Wrap. Since it was a celebration, dessert seemed appropriate and the server suggested a few items including Carrot Cake which we ordered. It came to the table from the very cold refrigerator in a clear plastic to go container. It was a very big slice (about 1/4 of a cake) and while it was ice cold it was nice. We had half and took the rest home. We were very surprised to see the description on the bill: Carrot Cake Big Slice 14.95. We left feeling sad about our old classic Italian eatery and likely won’t return. Very disappointed

I was in Kansas City last week and looked up Italian restaurants nearby. Cascone’s had a 4.6-star rating with more than 3,400 reviews, so I expected a great experience. Unfortunately, my group and I left very disappointed. The service was poor. Our server was not friendly, barely interacted with us, and set the plates down abruptly as if she did not want to be there. There were four of us in the party. Three of us ordered the Caesar salad to start, and it was very underwhelming. It reminded me of something you might find at a buffet salad bar. The bread was also disappointing. It was average at best, and for the first time I can remember at an Italian restaurant, no one in our group finished it or asked for more. That alone says a lot. For the entrées, my mother-in-law ordered the stuffed mushroom caps, which came in a thick cream sauce that was not appetizing. My friend ordered the lasagna, which was just okay and probably the best dish at the table, though not memorable. My husband and I both ordered the Chicken Limonata Elaina, and we agreed it was not good. I have had better dishes at Olive Garden and other chain restaurants. Overall, we left disappointed with the entire experience. I am genuinely surprised by the high ratings. Either we caught the restaurant on a very off night, or Kansas City does not have many strong Italian options.

Cascone’s has been a family favorite of mine, my parents and my grandparents for years. They have great food, (mostly) great staff, and I’ve enjoyed every dining experience I’ve ever had there. My family is Italian with very high standards, but we’ve never been disappointed by Cascone’s and their food. My mom tells stories about the first time she tried their chicken limonata as a teenager. When she got home, she rushed into my grandmother’s room in the middle of the night and shook her awake so she could try the leftovers! As of today, I don’t plan on returning. I called Cascone’s to ask if they had any availability for two on Valentine’s Day. I realize it’s short notice, I know they are probably booked up, but I figured the only way to know for sure is to call, and the worst they can say is “no”. Little did I realize that whoever is responsible for taking calls at this restaurant was about to provide the single worst and most bizarre customer service experience I have ever had. I asked, politely, if the restaurant had any availability for Valentine’s Day for two people. The woman who answered responded sarcastically with something to the effect of, “You’re caller number 6 today! Let me see if I can fit you in with my 450 other reservations I have that day. Did you get all that? Am I talking too fast for you?” My exact rebuttal was “You can just say ‘no’, you don’t have to be rude”, which prompted her to, again, sarcastically respond “I’m being perfectly positive and pleasant, I’m not being rude”. Realizing I do not deserve to be spoken to this way by ANYONE, much less a forward-facing representative of a business TRYING TO ACQUIRE MY PATRONAGE, I responded “You’re being incredibly rude. Goodbye”, and I promptly ended the phone call. I then swiftly received a RETURN CALL from the restaurant, presumably from the same woman who had just verbally attacked a perfect stranger in hopes of continuing to berate me for DARING to inquire about giving her business my hard earned money, which I declined as I was not interested in further beratement, and I doubted that an apology was in order. A truly unbelievable experience that may keep me from returning to this restaurant ever again. That woman should be fired immediately and take a good, long look at herself to figure out whether she really wants to be the kind of person I had the displeasure of interacting with today. Maybe she was having a bad day, and if she has any empathy, maybe she regrets taking her frustrations out me, but the fact is, I do not tolerate being spoken down to, nor should ANYONE, and as a business, Cascone’s should expect better of themselves and their employees. I regret to say that, although I’ve had great experiences with this restaurant and its staff in the past, and although I hope to return one day, as it stands I am simply not comfortable supporting a business that would allow such behavior. Very disappointing experience that lost Cascone’s a loyal customer.
