Wife and I were in town visiting a local winery. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Super friendly staff. Enjoyed the baseball stories.

Hesitant to try new restaurants in Boerne, but glad I took the risk. The flavor of everything was phenomenal. I’m so happy to have a new type of food in the area.

Just had lunch there with my parents. I'm loving the new location and the grilled shrimp was amazing! Great meal and quick service even with just a few people working today. Definitely a place you should check out if you're wanting some good fresh seafood!

Gumbo is SO good! Thank you for excellent food for many years. Love your family photo wall!

The stuffed crabs with slaw & pinto beans were excellent. A friend had fried oysters he said we're very good. They bring tasty rolls right away. Salad can be substituted for slaw. They go to the coast on Wed. so you know it's fresh if ya go then. I would go back on Wed anytime.

Every time we are in the area we make it a point to stop to eat here. The food is always delicious, the service is great and the prices are better than anything in the area. The restaurant is extremely clean and tables actually have walking area. I wished I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

T
Tom Rosier

Love the shrimp gumbo. The fish is excellent, grilled or fried. The shrimp are medium size but taste great, both boiled and fried. Not a fan of frog legs but others love them here.

This family owned seafood place has quickly risen to the top of me and the hubby's list of favorite places in Boerne. Cajun deviled eggs!!!!

My mom and I went there for lunch today. I have read a few of the bad Yelp reviews and I have to say that I am pleased that we decided to go there anyway. This is, if I'm not mistaken, a family owned and run restaurant. Mostly the bad reviews spoke of service. We had excellent service and considering we didn't get there until 1:30 and they close.at.2 p M., I'd say that says alot. My food was delicious! Most restaurants and food are subjective. In my case I enjoyed my frog legs heartily. My moms crab cake did appear to have more filler than I care for, but my mom enjoyed. All-in-all, a nice dining experience and I WILL be returning!

1st time eating there. Excellent food had by all. Recommend the Fried Shrimp . The fries are freshly cooked and hot. Our waitress was very friendly and kept checking our needs. Plan on going back next time we visit our son.

Dined at LaFlour's in Boerne tonight and it was great! Been going to the Kerrville location for 30 years and very happy for the Boerne location. A few new menu items that the Kerrville location did not have, but the old favorites were there. Our party had fried fish, shrimp, alligator, and the seafood platter and everyone was very pleased. Large portions as well. Bright and nicely decorated. Will be back!

I went to La Four's the other day and enjoyed boudin balls (yummy!) and crab cakes with tasty lemonade. My son enjoyed shrimp gumbo and shrimp and grits. We plan to return soon to further explore the menu. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is very reminiscent of Cajun restaurants on the Texas/Louisiana border.

This was my first visit here on a recommendation of one of our fellow diners. All five of us loved our meals here last night. We all ordered different items. We also got a couple of their appetizers. Delicious The whole staff worked together with their pleasant personalities to be sure we were well taken care of during our visit.

P

So happy we stopped in. The food was amazing!!! Boudain balls and alligator fried up golden and crispy. Then on to Shrimp and grits...which were creamy and delicious...(Thank You) They were a little short staffed at first but by the end of the night we had 6 different people by our table to make sure we had everything we needed including the owner. Everyone was friendly and the service and meal were a joy. I have to give a hand to the busperson...she was flipping tables as fast as she could to accommodate the line of people they had at the door. No one had to wait more than a few minutes. Would definitely recommend...my only regret is that we didn't get to try the gumbo or the crawfish....next time though..we will be back!!!

What a great place to eat! Had the Fried Shrimp Dinner last Sunday. Nice sized shrimp, great hush puppies and tasty pinto beans. A beautiful example of a family run business. Their service is top notch.

Absolutely excellent!!! The food was exceptional, will allow you to get creative with the dish you choose and the service was beyond anything I have experienced. Each one of staff will take their time to assure you are serviced and happy. The reviews on Google do not give it justice! ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great service!!! I love how it's a family-owned small business that's been in Kerrville for more than four decades! People who have been customers for more than three decades showed up today and you could really feel the family vibes.

Our dining experience was excellent! Service is super friendly and the food was delicious! We had the catfish and shrimp. Excellent. We will definitely be back. Glad we found this place.

Our first time at La Fours. I had the shrimp & grits w/ asparagus (delicious and with a spicy bite, but not too spicy); hubby had the grilled flounder with deliciously flavored grilled veggies, tomatoes, peppers, onions and the shrimp gumbo w rice as appetizer. Friendly staff, very attentive, with spot on service. Don’t pass it up since it’s a storefront that isn’t a standout from the street, but don’t miss it! This town needed a great seafood place, and we have it now!

Excellent fried frog legs and fried crawfish meals. It was brought to our table directly from the oven! Nice and hot. Great service and friendly atmosphere made our meal excellent!

Great relatable people who are going to stop by the table and make sure that you are enjoying your meal. Take a minute and talk with the owner about the weekly specials and recommendations. Just listening to the way he talks bout the area he grew up in and the way he kept the food like back home tells you that he cares.

Ok, I'm not a big fish eater, but this restaurant has changed my taste buds around. I had fish, fried shrimp, gumbo, beans, and rice. It was all AWESOME. I will be coming here for dinner once in a while. I honestly do not eat out much unless traveling. Thank you for the great food and surprise. David Walker

A night out with my love and we had tried two other places before finding this one. I am so very glad we found this place. Right away the atmosphere was inviting. Immediately the waitress took our drink order and brought them back quickly. Talked with our waitress about the food selection and made our decision. We ordered the fried alligator for an entree, which were delicious. For the meals we ordered the seafood platter. Was nervous about the frog leg, it was yummy. The young man in charge of filling drinks was super nice and respectful. All of the platter was delicious. We are from Johnson city and will definitely be back. Great family owned business!!!!

We are so thrilled that La Fours is now located in Boerne - for years we drove to Kerrville regularly to enjoy their wonderful fried shrimp, oysters or catfish. Still the same excellent quality with some new menu additions we haven't tried yet. Treat yourself and visit La Fours!

C

My first time here and very pleased. Exceptional service! Lee Anne was a fabulous server, full of joy and humor and truly professional. Our food was fresh and presented lovely. The gumbo has just enough kick to ease a bad cold (or Cedar Fever) - but not too spicy. The atmosphere has a Lousiana backwoods old dining hall feel, perfectly matched for the menu choices. Prices are fair considering freshness, presentation, and service beyond expectations! I definitely will be back!

La Fours is and always has been a family run business and has now moved to Boerne from Kerrville. You must go! They have the freshest most delicious fried shrimp and other fresh and tasty dishes. We were so pleased to see that the quality has remained!! It was like seeing family because we watched the ones running it now grow up! Make a stop, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was great and service was good too! Good seafood. Wide variety of different types of seafood like catfish, shrimp, oyster, crawfish, alligator, and more. They also did a nice pour of wine. :) We will be back next time we are in town. Wasn't too busy for a Friday night which was nice.

(1) First IM from Port Arthur TX where Cajun cooking and seafood rule. My first time dining at LaFluer’s was great. (2) I ordered the boudain balls & red beans and rice and sausage. My girlfriend ordered (gulf) shrimp and (cheese) grits. (3) Both orders were wonderful, and we have agreed to become regulars here. (4) Finally, the owner (Debbie) came out to greet us and spent alittle of her time chatting with us, making us feel special. TY Debbie for making it a great experience…

My family and I had a wonderful experience. This was our first time and the food was DELICIOUS! I had the fish with buttery mash, baby boy had some mash, my daughter had shrimp and fries, my husband had a steak and he has rated the steak as the #1 over cheddars, over longhorn steakhouse, over Chili's etc. He absolutely loved it! Chef, great job! The service was awesome, friendly and very welcoming! Thank you all!

I ordered the flounder to go. It was perfectly grilled with wonderful tomatoes and onions, sautéed along with a great sauce. I actually had beans instead of rice and I thought that that was a great way to get some more protein in. The food was excellent!

We didn't realize they were closed for lunch, and they still invited us in and treated us like family, only when we were leaving, did we look at the door and realize we went during their break! The food was wonderful, and uh, they asked us repeatedly if we needed anything, they were great!

La Four’s reminds me of Acadiana Cafe in San Antonio. The food is very good. The shrimp and crawfish etouffe is my favorite. The crab cakes are amazing.

La fours has the most scrumptious food in boerne. I have a lot of food allergies and must avoid spicy food, gluten and shellfish. But the haddock is fresh and 100 percent not “fishy.” The texture is perfect and the cream sauce goes perfectly with the rice. However, I sadly found out the haddock is not gluten-free.

This place was most awesome. The food came quickly and was delicious. The waiter checked on us twice, the waitress checked on us twice and we weren't her table, one manager checked on us twice and the other once. I felt like royalty! I can hardly wait to go try some of the other dishes. We had the Friday lunch special today. The family picture wall was cool and I loved the color scheme.

Update 7 months after original post: Same party on a weekday. Food and atmosphere remains excellent and the attention to our drinks during the meal improved, so we'll average the two visits for service. Original post: Overall a nice experience and we will be back. Party of 5 on a weekday. No wait with the seating about half full. Drink orders were taken right away. Five different main dishes were delivered in less than 10 minutes from ordering. Catfish, Fried Shrimp, Shrimp/Grits, Crawfish Enchilada, Alligator was excellent. Fries were standard and the beans were standard with nothing noteworthy about them, but they tasted OK. Hush puppies are nice and have a slight spicy kick to them. Service was friendly, but nobody came to check on our drinks the entire time we were there until after we were done eating when another server had come to pick up our plates. We also had to ask for the bill instead of someone coming to check on us. A little more attention by the serving staff would be helpful. Like several places in the Boerne area, you pay at the register on your way out.

Ordered from LaFour's Seafood via DoorDash, and it was a 5-star experience! The shrimp and grits were creamy and flavorful, with perfectly cooked shrimp. The catfish po' boy sandwich had crispy, tender catfish with a perfect toasted roll. The crab jalapeno appetizer was a perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and the kids' catfish meal was delicious and well-portioned. Everything arrived fresh and hot, even through delivery. Highly recommend LaFour's for a satisfying seafood meal at home! We can't wait to dine in next.

Update September 2024: The new location in Boerne is adorable and the food is just as good as my review from last year which below. Original Review 2023 Favorites: Delicious alligator bites! the deviled eggs with shrimp are really good. For entrees, our faves are: fried shrimp and catfish plates. Gumbo is another favorite! They serve american catfish here which tastes so good… mild not fishy at all. 😋

The food was great. We tried some new things. The shrimp was excellent as was the alligator bites. Everything we tried was great. My daughter loved the crab cakes. The service was even better. They made recommendations and got us what we needed when we needed it. We will definitely be back.

Finally made in for dinner for the first time! We really enjoyed our dinner! My husband got the sampler plate and over all it was good but the catfish and shrimp could have used some more flavor. I got the fried crawfish and it was delicious! The plate came with so much crawfish too that I was able to share with my husband and still left some after we finished! We had two of the deserts, the beignets and the peanut butter dream. Both were good and enjoyable.

Good seafood and a nice addition to the dining out options in Boerne. We had the salmon, shrimp creole, and shrimp cocktail. All delicious and served by friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

D

Placed an order via Uber eats. Food arrived hot and tasty. However very disappointed in the crab cake plate. 2 crab cakes, 2 hush puppies, a handful of fries and 4oz of beans = $18. All I'm trying to say is maybe add 2 more crab cakes to make it worth the price.

Kind of difficult to find, even though it's on the main road. We didn't know it was seat yourself until after waiting a few minutes before someone acknowledged us. Need a better way to communicate that with your customers. It's way to bright. The bright LED lights are overpowering. I had the parmesean crusted haddock and it was decent. The rice and grilled onions & peppers made it. The bread pudding was good after digging for it under the mounds of added frosting. The frosting was gross and ruined the overall flavor of the dish. Service was weird because our actual waitress checked on us once. Other people were checking on us instead. Overall first impressions were OK.

We had a gift certificate so we thought we should try them out and we are glad we did. The food was very good and the service was good but the ambiance was not there. Good: Michalob Ultra in a frosted mug. PiniotGregio very strong with solid flavor. Alligator Bites - excellent Salad with house ranch was very good. Consider some croutons and a bigger plate. Grilled Catfish with onions and rice. Excellent. The combination of flavors was amazing! Grilled Haddock. Very good. Loved the rice and onions (in fact we ordered an additional side of grilled onions to go with our leftovers. Bread Pudding was excellent EXCEPT way too sweet with the added frosting. We would have preferred it without, consider making that an option that you tell your guests. Price was fair. Bad: The service was weird. 3 different people and didnt check in enough....although they were all extremely nice. You seat yourself. The mens bathroom was dirty. Many of the touch points were ok it was other things that had a build up of dirt that was definitely off putting. The lighting felt like an institution...not a warm and inviting light. Cheap plastic plates. Cheap finishes through out. It was way too quiet except for a zip noise every 2 min...it was very annoying. The high quality of the food does not match the environment. I think they could garner 3Xs the amount of business with some of these implemented improvements. All and all, they deserve their current 4.2 Google rating...this is exactly what I would rate them.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick bite before our holiday stroll. Initially, I was apprehensive—judging a book by its cover—but I ended up pleasantly surprised. While Cajun food isn’t usually my favorite, I can never say no to alligator. I ordered the fried alligator, which came with beans, fries, and hushpuppies. The alligator was lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. The beans were a bit flavorless, and I was hoping for cocktail sauce, but overall I was pleased with my meal. My boyfriend ordered the Cane River Combo. He said the fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the Creole sauce was delicious, though a little heavy on the sauce. The service was excellent—our waiter was very friendly and helpful with the menu, and every staff member we met was welcoming. We’ll definitely stop by again. My boyfriend plans to try a different dish, but I’ll be coming back for the alligator.

We enjoyed this family owned Cajun restaurant! Caring staff gave us recommendations for ordering. Diverse menu!

B
Brenda Z

We sat down and it took almost 10 minutes to get help. Waiter got upset that we asked for sweet tea, said he gets asked that a thousand times a day. (If you've never been to that restaurant you don't know what they have) Food was overpriced and not that good. The calamari and alligator were good. The gumbo was plain and the soft shell crabs were nothing great.

S
Stephanie LaBeau

Disappointed, no oysters because they said they were seasonal but a couple other restaurants have them. So second thing I ordered voodoo fires...nope it was 12:30 and the efftoule wasn't made yet... Just got a couple appetizers and left. Our waitress was very sweet....

C
Chris S

We ordered Texas oysters, boiled shrimp appetizer, and a cup of gumbo. Average at best. Oysters seemed relatively fresh but had zero flavor. I think the boiled shrimp came from a bag of frozen Walmart shrimp. Old and tough. Gumbo had no flavor, no spice, and I think the shrimp in it was the tiny canned shrimp. A three rating on what we ordered is being generous.

B
BigSam63

Not a big fan of this place. Bread on the po boy was old and tasteless. The fried shrimp were pretty good. Gumbo was pretty good. French fries are frozen from a bag variety. No fountain drinks. Crab cakes were imitation crab even though it doesn't say imitation crab anywhere on the menu. No fountain drinks. I was going to give 2 stars but I'm bumping up to 3 because service was very good. I have no plans to come back.

j
jseiler1959

I had the lunch special of shrimp and grits. I was disappointed in the size of the six small shrimp. The grits were okay. I added a small dinner salad and that was good with homemade ranch dressing. I'm not likely to go back as the side offered on most dishes is french fries and I'm trying to avoid fried foods. Offering a baked potato as an option would be a great addition to the menu. Service 5*

k
kathy binetti

Pros: Good waiter who was attentive and personable. The etouffee was good, but barely enough. Cons: Why no green side dishes included with most entrees? How much can a small salad, coleslaw, or veggie cost them? The shrimp on my shrimp and grits were very small and overly salted. It did come with three skinny pieces of tough asparagus. My friend had a side of beans with her catfish which tasted like they came straight out of the can, and her fries were limp. Another friend also had the shrimp and grits and left still hungry. Ridiculous prices for the amount and quality of the food. The atmosphere is institutional and the decode is unattractive. We will not return.

M
Miles M

The food is absolutely not worth the price I paid. $40 for a coke, shrimp and grits, voodoo fries, and a partial order of deviled eggs. Something wasn't right about the shrimp, and I think the crawfish in the fries weren't cleaned or something... I don't know what it was, but something told me not to eat anymore, and I trusted my gut. Definitely overpriced and the atmosphere looks like it has no life.

M
Michael Billingsley

Food was good. No complaints. But not good enough for the price we paid. Service was good but for the price & atmosphere they are trying to project, the staff needs some kind of dress code. Some wearing Tshirts, torn jeans, flips flops... McDonald's employees dress better. Biggest complaint was the temperature in the restaurant. Hot! 🥵 🔥 The previous occupants never did anything to fix the AC. Looks like LaFours spent a lot to remodel but basically they put lipstick on a pig. The building is old and now it has another coat of paint. Get a new AC unit.

J
Jessica Mitchell

Unfortunately I think we just went to early into their new location. The building was very warm almost like the AC was not on which made the atmosphere just not great. No music or anything playing so you could hear everyone's conversations. We had no idea that we checked out up front so we sat there for awhile waiting on someone to bring us a check. The server was not very attentive once we received our food, we had to waive people down for Ketchup and Salt. We needed salt as our crawfish etoufee was not very good at all. It was luke warm, served on a strange plate and had a canned flavored. My sister got the fried shrimp and that was good and daughter food was also okay minus the fries that were semi-cold. We will go back just because I think they were just getting started and maybe we ordered the wrong things and will try something else next time.

S
Sharron Roberts

Two stars for the delicious shrimp! My grandparents, parents and my siblings have been coming here since the early 1980's. It's become nostalgic for us, when we come in town from Austin and McKinney. It has slowly gone down hill for us, over the years. Today was pretty much the last straw for us, as our salads were delivered to our table by one of the owners while carrying her baby. My salad was about an inch from the baby's bottom, it totally turned our stomachs, to think about it, but didn't feel comfortable saying anything. The more we thought about, the more we felt like something should be said, so this is our say!

S
Sarah R

Really disappointing. First time we went, I had the shrimp & grits - shrimp was decent size and grits were good, asparagus was cooked properly. Boyfriend had lobster risotto and it was absolutely delicious. Service was terrible and I support family businesses but it’s very much like a daycare - don’t expect a romantic or vibrant atmosphere. This time, we both wanted the lobster risotto and, of course, they were out. The “special” was shrimp & grits so we had that - tiniest shrimp, 6 or 7 popcorn shrimp size and asparagus was hardly edible. Grits were clumpy and interior of clumps were cold. Again, silence, no ambiance, except for a child that was watching something loudly on his mother’s phone - not sure if they were patrons but I assume so. Biggest issue for us though is value for money - if I’m paying $15/plate, I expect decent sized shrimp or maybe make up for it by adding more to the plate. I understand that times are tough but when we, as a customer, voluntarily spend money to eat at an establishment, we don’t want to feel taken advantage of. Hopefully, for the sake of the family, it’ll get straightened out soon.

S
Sarita Brooks

Went for lunch today. We were very excited because Boerne doesn’t have any seafood restaurants. Anyway, the food was bland, was definitely not fresh (most likely frozen seafood) and WAY over priced for not in quality but atmosphere. We left so grossed out and what a waste of money!!! We had the Gumbo, a side salad which was basically a child’s handful of lettuce and Cane Combo.

C
Catherine Park

The service was good and the seafood was as well. We got catfish and the seafood platter. The sides weren’t.. the gumbo had old tasting shrimp, the rice had no seasoning, the zucchini was over cooked and the green beans were canned and not enjoyable. A bummer because the proteins were great

A
Art Karcher

Service was good but the food was not. Had alligator and frog legs. The frog legs were uncooked like just the batter only cooked and the same with the alligator. Will not go back.

Crab cakes had no crab only mushy oatmeal texture. Presentation was pretty but no taste. Seafood platter small portions filets beans and fries looked canned and frozen. Good fried shrimp. Gumbo tasted like bean soup with 4 baby shrimp. Family mural nice but blank gray walls sad need of decor. High price for quality and amount of food. Sorry family was hoping for better.

First and last time coming here. Service was poor and basically nonexistent. 3 tables of customers with 4 employees and we still couldn't get someone to refill drinks, ask if we needed anything, how the food was or even request our ticket. (Too busy talking with other customers and each other.)The salad was wilted, catfish chewy and no flavor, beans were dry, chicken fried steak was pre-made with gravy the consistency of paste.

Very disappointed. Service terrible, seafood presentable but sent it back after one bite. Gumbo not so bad. Fried chicken salad was plain iceberg lettuce with some chicken thrown on it. Don't go don't go save your self some money. If you would to eat seafood that bad, go to long John silver's. When you get disappointed with your food you will have already expected it to be that bad. I do really hate writing this review being a business owner. I would never want to have something written about my company like this but my story needs to be told

I'm flabbergasted by all of the 4 & 5 star reviews, but we're not from here so, maybe it's just what people are accustomed to as 'good food'. I ordered the crab cakes which came with french fries, hush puppies and choice of beans...I chose green beans. Anyhoo, fries are frozen from a bag fries, green beans from a can and I'm pretty sure the crab cakes are pre-packaged and frozen as well with no visible crab. As one previous reviewer said, it's more about value...with one dinky meal of all pre-packaged food, 2 drinks and a tip, we came out to almost $27.00. We'll make our own next time. Service was 'meh'.

I ordered take out, 39.00 and what the menu said you get, you don't!! And the boiled shrimp was nasty, I pray I don't get sick, was so hungry so I drowned it in cocktail sauce and ate it anyhow. And the man who checked me out was so dry!! Never ever will I go there again to eat!!

Hands down the most overpriced, low quality seafood - Long John Silvers does it better. Do not get the oysters. Our server got lost sometime between ordering and the food coming out, so never saw her again. The ambiance is that of being in your Aunt's kitchen - the one that can't cook and all you can hear is heavy footsteps down the hallway. Would not recommend.

I made reservations for my wife and I for Mothers Day. Never been there but read the craze about this place. When we got there, we were set back. It looked like a mess hall, noisy as all get out, childeren cleaning tables and no seating at bar. As we waited for our table, we couldn't take it any longer and got up and left. Made a last minute reservation at Bonzi Restaurant, much better.

So bad. Truly awful dining experience. And WAY over-priced. Stopped here on the way back from Lost Maples, in the hopes of dining on some tasty Seafood. The empty Parking Lot at 6 PM on a Saturday should have been our first clue as to what waited inside. First...Place is huge...cavernous. Yet when you walk in the door there is no greeter. The waitstaff are roughly 20 yards away in the back of the place and just kind of stare at you when you come in. So we grabbed a table and waited. And waited. Finally a waiter came over (there were less tan 10 other diners) and very curtly took our drink order. We still needed Menu's at this point LOL. Waiter came back with our drinks and I had to ask for menus. Gumbo is on the appetizer menu only, and is horrible. No real whole seafood in it. Just pieces of shrimp and overcooked crawfish that tasted more like "Seafood Bubblegum". My wife had "Bayou Rice with Crawfish". In a word it was AWFUL. I'm Cajun. I guess they dug up some Bayou Mud and mixed in Rice and Cheap Chinese Frozen Crawfish. I tasted it and told her I thought it was inedible. I was wary of what I saw on other plates seafood-wise, so I ordered Ribeye and Shrimp. All I can say is Frozen and thawed. The shrimp were TINY. The steak? Don't make me laugh. Paper thin and overcooked. We both had beans and cole slaw as sides. Very Cajun...Pinto beans from a can, and oversweetened cabbage is what we got. I mean it. The beans were canned swill. 2 beers. 2 entrees and one bowl of gumbo set us back almost 60 bucks after tip. AVOID!!!!!

We went for lunch and were disappointed. Such a big change compared to a month ago. Grilled Shrimp was very small, Grilled Zucchini was small in size also and was too salty. Rice was to sticky and not very good. The order was low in portion and higher in price. The Fried Frog Legs order had gone up in price also.. Had way too much batter on them and were not seasoned. Hush puppies were over cooked and hard. The French Fries were chewy and didn't taste fresh. Pinto Beans tasted dull like they came right out of a can and I had to add Kethup just to add some flavor. Prices have greatly increased and not very many choices on sides. We won't be going back.

The service was absolutely TERRIBLE. Along with an entitled attitude the servers the food took around 30mins to come out and ended up tasting like gas station food. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

My Wife & I had lunch there at about 1:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept 22, 2020. The restaurant had about maybe about 10 people other than us. The Food served was okay as far as taste, but really lacking in portion size, only offering 6 small grilled Shrimp, and Grits with Cheese as the side dish, so we both added a medium bowl of Gumbo to increase our meal size. The serving size of just 6 small shrimp lacked adequate amount to satisfy either one of our appetites even with an over spiced serving of Grits. The highlight of the meal was the Gumbo which was good but still nothing to really brag about. We both left the restaurant still hungry and very disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food. With the tip, I wound up spending almost $50 for 2 adults to eat a lack-luster lunch that was maybe worth less than $20 in all reality. I will most likely not eat there again.

I do not recommend La Fours in Boerne. We had the worst experience tonight and will never be back. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we finally left at 8pm with no meal. We had four children that hadn’t eaten dinner. No one came to check on us, give us an update, asked if we needed anything while waited. Kept blaming a large party in the back room. Not even a single apology from the staff AND they still made us pay for three sodas. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant; this was our first and last time at this establishment. I sent a private message to them hoping they would redeem themselves but they did not. I wanted to love it here but they failed miserably.

We recently got takeout at La Fours. We literally had to throw the entire $140 order away. The gumbo was ok until I realized it had shrimp and the shrimp was what the mush was. The crawfish enchiladas were somewhat edible but so bland and chewy. The crawfish étouffée was beyond disappointing. The entire thing was mush and the rice was even mushier. Tried to add some spice as it tasted beyond bland but it didn’t help. The hush puppies and boudin balls were tolerable but bland and over cooked. My son ate his fried catfish but he said he had never tasted catfish with no spice. I told him not to eat it but he was super hungry and just coated it with sauce. He ended up in the bathroom sick later. The Beignets were way overcooked and rubbery. Then the fried alligator was all rubber. Literally like trying to eat a rubberband! I just couldn’t believe how bad everything was. I called to talk to a manager and spoke to an older person. She said she would refund the order. Never said sorry or if something was off that day. I was ok with that and figured if they were refunding the order then there was no need to review. My fiancé went in yesterday and she gave him $60 of the $140. I was fine with them keeping the takeout tip. I called and asked what happened as we ended up throwing it all away. She said she wasn’t refunding the items I said were ok. I’m sorry but we will not be going back. I just couldn’t believe how bad everything was! I wish I had taken pictures!

Truly uncommonly awful! Food is bad to unremarkable, and the austere interior is dismal. This place is owned by an unfriendly family. They refused to substitute grits for fries, which my severely ill father couldn't have. Grits and fries are the exact same price! I simply cannot understand this attitude, especially at a new place in a small town like this. After a bad meal, it was time to pay, and they had a child running the register, leading to a lengthy wait. Don't bother with this place.

Overpriced for the quality and amount of food. Heard great things online but was disappointed when a catfish meal was $24 and lack flavor throughout the whole meal down to the fries. If they lowered the pricing to reflect what they are serving it would be justifiable.

We stopped by with family and friends to celebrate Fat Tuesday. It was going to be a first for us and we were excited to finally try this place out. We ordered and waited almost 1 1/2 hours for food. Was told by staff that there was a large party and they were trying to take care of them 1st. Needless to say, There are mostly young kids running the floor. We were being so patient and then they told us that they ran out of shrimp, which was on most of our orders. Once we realized they hadn’t even started our orders we got up and left. The service was totally unacceptable. The staff didn’t apologize or offer to make things right. NO customer should be waiting that long to get a meal. There is no reason whatsoever that staff can’t take care of a large party and also the guests in the main restaurant simultaneously. We are all about supporting local businesses but, unfortunately we will never be back to La Fours. Don’t waste your time or money.

We had been there before, quite a while back. This time, the food was not as good, overcooked quail and the gumbo too. Service was just ok.

My friend & I went to have lunch at LA Fours after hearing how wonderful the food was. The smell of Turpentine was so strong, not sure if they were painting or what. The food had no flavor, she ordered the Crab Cake Béarnaise, which had no flavor and I ordered Shrimp Piquant, the sauce was tasteless, they fill the plate up with rice and cover it in red sauce. We were so disappointed with the food, we had looked forward to enjoying wholesome Cajun food. Won't be going back.

We Had a friendly waiter trying to do a good job. But whoever thought this place knew how to make gumbo or étouffée needs to go to Louisiana and learn how to cook. It was some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. The price for the portions is high. The crawfish was cooked to a point that it was mushy and the rice was mush. . The fish was cut paper thin and shrimp were so tiny. They must’ve came from Walmart. I would not recommend this place to anybody. And I for sure will never be back again.

So disappointed. I've been eating at La Fours for over 40 years and absolutely loved it, but the last several times we've eaten there the food quality has been declining, with smaller and smaller portions. After the last experience, we won't be returning. The food was flavorless and horrible. The decor at their new location, in Boerne, is non existent. Harsh bright white lighting, gray walls with a black ceiling and a white floor. It felt like a diner, instead of a restaurant. It was so quiet, as there was no background music playing. The only sounds to be heard was the kitchen noise and the voices of the other guests.
