Anthony Garcia and Shalikha Baker (I hope I spelt their names correctly they deserve that) are amazing every time we go to Golden Chick in Killeen they are always welcoming and inviting and very professional. It is super clean, pleasant and our food served is always correct, hot and fresh. We eat here at least once a week. Love this place thank you for the amazing service. Joey and Terri
Consistently on the mark. Biggest contrast compared to the Indian Trail location. They have never messed up my order a single because they always repeat make sure. Each manager is extremely patient and professional and has great communication skills. Exemplary and exceptional
This restaurant here is by far the best spot to get your chicken from Killeen. Right when my daughter and I walked in, we were greeted and acknowledged by the staff who are Ricky, Z, and Tonya. Their customer service was very excellent and they were so nice and clean and respectful and the food quality was really great. Thank you for the pleasant experience for the first time dining here, and because of you guys we will definitely be coming back and dine in again.
This restaurant had a nice family atmosphere with soft music 🎵 playing in the background. The personal was polite when I asked a question. The food was hot fresh and very tasty 🤤. I believe if you dine here you won't be disappointed.
Me and my boy were rolling through Killeen on our way to Dallas. Stopped in to take a meeting and grab something to eat. Ari (probably not spelled right). She was the first person to greet me and with a smile. She was cold because she took two orders at once (drive thru and mine at the counter). I got the wicked wings. Don’t know his name, but he specifically came out and asked me if I like my wings spicy, he said he was heavy handed on the spice. My order came out and let me tell you, my plate was hot and fresh. Fries, Mac n Cheese, and my wings. I saw another staff member standing near the restrooms and I asked her if she was the cook. She said, yes. I told her that my wings were fire and cooked perfectly. Nothing like getting hot fresh chicken and not the chicken sitting up on the heating rack all day. I appreciate the love the team showed me and my boy that day. Till next time, and Ari, that dispatch job is waiting for you, go get it!
Quintin just now helped me out at lunch. I knew I wanted baked chicken but I didn’t know the rest. Ended up with a good meal and good deal. Very nice individual. Will definitely have to start frequenting this location. Need more nice people in our society like him. Great job!
Donna was so nice and always smiling. Everytime we go in now we ask for her section. The French toast is amazing, si was the pork chop
Best fried chicken in town hands down! I've been to Cane's, Popeyes, Church's and KFC and none of them compare to Golden Chick and it's because they can't beat the quality and customer service! The chicken is always juicy and it tastes good even without the sauce. However, the Sweet Baby Ray's just makes it all that better. Their raspberry lemonade is also my favorite and they make it themselves. The inside of all of their locations are always clean and appealing, and I've never had to wait too long for a meal! (And they've never messed up my order) Also, the people who work here are actually really nice and don't look miserable like a lot of other fast food places I've been to! That's why they're the overall best for me!
Generous portions, but room for improvement. This was my first visit to Golden Chick in Killeen. The service was quick, and the portions of chicken were impressive, juicy and flavorful, even if not quite as hot as I prefer. For a first try, it felt like good value. On the other hand, the coleslaw wasn’t really to my taste. That said, since this was my first experience, I believe it could have just been an isolated visit, so I’d be willing to give them another chance. I’d probably return, depending on what other options I have at the moment. Overall, a fair first impression, 3 out of 5 stars.
We initially looked over the menu (on the app) in the parking lot. My husband attempted to go into the lobby but was told it was close( door was unlocked) by a female mopping the floor( I found out after we left). So we ordered online and was given a pickup time. As that time came, we went through the drive thru and after about 4 minutes was told that he would be with us in a minute. Okay understandable. After about 7 minutes, we were greeted and told the man we ordered online was after a pause, we were told to pull through. Another vehicle just leaving as we pulled up to the window. After almost another 5 minutes we were given our order. I doubled checked the order and inquired about sauce for the chicken. The man told me I would have ordered it through the app, okay. Then he said if I wanted it, I would need to order through the app and drive back through the drive thru. Mind you this young man's attitude was bad from the get go. I did state that it was crazy to have to go back around for sauce, even though I love that gravy. He told me he was there all alone and that was it. I live less than 5 minutes away and when I got home home, even more disappointment reared it's ugly head. My chicken was warm( probably room temperature) as was the rest of my food. So yeah definitely the first time the food and customer service was well below anything I've ever experienced before. I get that it gets busy but done pass that negative energy to the customer. I will definitely be looking to speak to a manager or GM soon.
What part of;"I don't want the wicked wings" was misunderstood? They were spicy and very very salty! Why would anyone order these wings? People could have health issues and you're mixing up their orders? I asked for plain wings. Both staff at the drive thru speaker were inpatient? Then still got my order wrong. My lips are still on fire. Just some customer service advice, every one who comes there don't mean they been there before. Show some patience". Give info happily!
I’ve been to this Golden Chick on Fort hood a few times. I went at 630pm 2/2/2026 ordered a 3 piece 1 drumstick and 2 wings dirty rice and a large sweet tea, chicken was cold but I let that go cause I can warm that up it was my sweet tea I love these tea I used to by it by the gallon but I just ordered a large I took a sip and I don’t know what the taste was but I got a mouth full of the tea grains I immediately poured it down the drain to look in the bottom of the cup and it was full of tea grains. To the Golden Chick Employees working tonight pay more attention to your customers instead of talking I will not come back to this particular site.
Tall black guy, taking the order at drive-through seemed irritated, taking my order and had no customer service skills. When I got to the window, I noticed he was on the phone. He didn’t greet me. He just told me my total while holding his phone in his hand and had a earbud in his ear. I made it seem like I was interrupting his conversation by asking questions about Food. Took my payment with his phone and his hand never looked at me just handed me my food out the window very rude. And please tell him I’m very sorry for interrupting his conversation, oncoming time and making it seem like I was a bother by ordering food. 0/10 look how he handed me my food And then slam the window shut. I spent almost $50 to be treated rudely.
Severs where very nice but unfortunately got my order wrong. Was supposed to get 2 rolls with 2 more rolls, instead I got one roll and extra gravy, which was never added to the order, the chicken was also burnt/dry
I’m a little late posting this because I’m a Sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed in California, and I was visiting Killeen for a short trip. What was supposed to be a decent visit turned into a complete disaster because of this place—and I’ll say it now: I will never come back to Killeen after this experience. The General Manager, Q, is an absolute disgrace to the title. He spent the entire time holed up in a little room, laughing, talking on the phone, and treating the place like his personal hangout. No leadership, no professionalism—just pure disrespect. He personally made my food, and it came out raw in the middle. Not undercooked. Raw. That’s not just disgusting—it’s a health risk. A GM serving unsafe food while ignoring customers is beyond unacceptable. And let’s talk about his attitude: Q was so rude, I was ready to jump over that counter and show him exactly what rudeness gets you. My dad, a military sergeant who doesn’t tolerate disrespect, said he’ll never step foot in that place again. He told me if he hadn’t walked out when he did, he would’ve jumped over that counter himself and taught Q a hard lesson in what rudeness leads to. It doesn’t stop there. I asked one of the employees about the setup in the back and I was told the fryer is hooked up to an extension cord. That’s a blatant fire code violation. I will be contacting the health inspector and the fire department immediately. This isn’t just bad service—it’s a safety hazard waiting to happen. And since the owner clearly isn’t paying attention, I’ll be starting a petition to demand Q’s removal. If he’s not gone within 3 days, I’ll be taking this to the news media. The public deserves to know what kind of danger and disrespect is being served here. If the owner has any pride in their business, they’ll act fast. Because I’m not backing down. I have also provided evidence confirming that the review was sent to the news media below.
The sweet tea has always been delicious but I almost shed a tear because that tea was straight TRASH, I was actually in disbelief that the tea was not as it usually is. And don't get me started on the food, it was barely hot. This place is expensive to be getting some trash anything. The quality has definitely gone down hill and it's extremely unfortunate
Please don't order late because this is what you will receive. I originally ordered 5 (whole wings) and two rolls through DoorDash . They told the dashed they messed up my order and then proceeded to give her this to bring me as if I was going to be fine with old small winglets that have been sitting hours and half eaten roll. Dasher offered to wait for fresh chicken they didn't allow her to. Will be calling in on them to complain about what the manager told me when I called up there and he handed off the phone to the cook to avoid conversation and resolution. May have to call health inspector as well since they are giving out old food . I’m not eating this . Looked like it was pulled from the trash and they put it into a box and it’s not what i ordered anyway. The manager needs to be held accountable. And whole wings on the DoorDash app are a little over 3.00 a piece I’m going to be hungry because of his negligence and unwillingness to just make what I ordered regardless of closing preparation. I ordered in enough time to have it remade . These aren't whole wings . I have the picture and will take to the establishment in the morning when they open. The DoorDasher was nice but the manager of this place honestly needs to step down not fit .
The food was absolutely disgusting, and the service was even worse. The employees were glued to their phones the entire time — especially one named Ari, who was on her phone nonstop. When I tried to speak with a manager, I discovered the manager was also on the phone, which explains a lot about the lack of discipline. The tables were sticky, the staff were laughing and arguing instead of working, and no one seemed to care about the customers. As someone who runs restaurants myself, I can say with confidence that this level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this establishment for the rest of my life.
This location is lazy. They don’t like to fry your food fresh, they’d rather just give you food that’s been sitting under a lamp. I didn’t receive the types of pieces of chicken I wanted. There was hair in my food. And I received expired jalepenos that should have been thrown out earlier in the day. This location is just not it.
Waited over 30min for food. While others came in and ordered and left with in 10min. An off the clock employee tipped the cashier to be served b4 everyone else. When I arrived home less than 10 mins from the restaurant my husband and daughter got their full order while I only had the chicken. All the food was cold and hard. I couldn't go back because they asked to see my receipt in the store and never gave it back. My family and I will not be returning.
08/19/23 16:00 Lady on the intercom was very nice. The food was bland. No taste at all. Not even hot sauce could fix this. Fried okra was over cooked and hard and most definitely fried in old grease. Chicken tender and okra both. The ice tea wasn’t good either. Tasted like watered down ice tea. Very disappointing. Wouldn’t come back nor recommend to anyone else. Got two meals, paid $32. I was totally surprised. Expensive if you ask me for the quality of food. I tossed the meal after tasting it.
Just got my uber eats order. It is clear they handle orders way differently than if you physically go up there. I ordered the 2 piece catfish and got 2 baby pieces of fish for $12… I’m so disappointed, I am VERY hungry and pregnant. The pictures make it look bigger than they truly are. The sweet tea was horrible today too. Do better!!! Consistency is Key!
