Greeted by smiling, friendly staff. It's a great location, just across the street from Laguna Beach. We made reservations, and we were promptly seated on time. We were then given warm chips, salsa and a side of refried black beans, so yummy. I got the fish tacos; Hawaiian Mahi Mahi blackened, avo, lemon aioli, cabbage, rice and beans, they were so good. My husband got the Crispy Chicken Chimichanga; flour tortilla, golden crisp, veracruzano rice, salsa, guac, sour cream and queso fresco 😋😋. My son/dil shared the Seafood Trio; crab enchilada, grilled shrimp 🌮 taco, shrimp and crab chile relleno, veracruzano rice, refried beans, queso. It was refreshing to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of Laguna Beach.

Food was amazing. Service was great. Could see the beach from my table. A must visit. Best salsa I’ve had in a long time. Quesadillas were the best I’ve ever had

We had a great dinner here on a Friday night. We definitely recommended making a reservation before hand. It’s a really good if small restaurant. Our server, Rodi, was wonderful. She was attentive, kind, and very helpful. Food was delicious! We shared the Street corn appetizer, and the short rib enchiladas were a hit. We also shared the churro dessert, so good! Every bite was perfect. If we could give one critique, the restaurant didn’t have the best smell when we walked in. But we all quickly forgot when our food arrived.

Chicken Taco salad was fantastic. I had it with their amazing black beans and it was a good size. I couldn’t finish it but I really wanted to. Also the sampler plate is a 5 out of 5. The potato and shrimp taquitos were my favorite and the plate is huge. Can feed 2-3.

Visiting from Boston. We were on our way to another restaurant and our uber driver recommended Carmelita’s and it did not disappoint. Warm chips w/ salsa, bean dip and guacamole to start hit the spot after a long day of traveling. For entrees we had the steak tacos and short rib enchiladas and they were equally delicious. Would highly recommend this place. Very clean, beautiful restaurant. Our server (Rodi) was excellent! 5 STARS!

We love frequenting our local Carmelita’s in Laguna Beach. We always have excellent service and incredible food. There are so many options in Laguna but we always choose Carmelita’s. Rodi gave us prompt service and we never were left waiting. She served us with a smile the whole time.

We love this place! It is casual, easy, and drinks are always great! Food is very good and everything even chips are made here! We just wish that menu would have more choices:) All Staff members are super friendly and very nice, great service. Just a great neighborhood place we love to go to. Their margaritas are the best!

What fun! What food! What service by our server Rodi. 6 adults and 2 children is usually a nightmare for a restaurant and Carmelitas couldn’t have been more gracious and delicious. 3 bowls of chips with 2 sauces as soon as we sat down to soothe the savage beasts -us. And it got better from there. So highly recommended for a family dinner even in trendy Laguna. And great margaritas!!

Would have been 5 for food but the 2 dinner tacos were the size you'd expect for appetizers. The flavors were excellent for all the food for our party of 3. Chips & Bean Dip were to die for.

Definitely a delivery hotspot for any DD UE drivers out there. Now open 24 hours. Line can get really long but actually moves pretty quick (for a Popeye's).

Solid pick for some Mexican food in Laguna Beach area. The inside is well lit with these fun star-shaped lights. The service is friendly and pretty attentive. We came here for a quick bite and drink. We got the Chef's combo platter and a margarita. A good amount of food for 2-3 people with a little bit of everything. The margaritas here are also very good too. Great place and would come back!

One inch thick bullet proof slide out window for payment and food. Talked to employee and was ignored. Can't go wrong with Popeye goodness. The $7 big box was a good value.

Ordered a take out (offer of 9.99 for these five signature chicken combo). I will recommend you to order online and take out, because the drive-through line is long and slow. The taste is good though. The spicy one is not spicy at all for Chinese.

If you go to this Popeyes, do not expect fast. If you eat here, go through the drive through, do not try to save time by ordering online, they'll have you wait in the lot til it's ready, defeating the whole purpose. Even taking the drive thru will take a good long while. Food is delicious but this is a busy, puny location that struggles to keep up with orders.

Was my first visit to this Popeye's location on Jefferson and La Brea in Los Angeles. I ordered a chilled mango lemonade [without ice because it seems Popeyes employees don't know the meaning of very light ice] the mango wasn't mixed into the lemonade. Check out the photos, they speak for themselves. I placed my order before noon, so I should've received better service.

I absolutely love the food of this restaurant... and I absolutely hate the service, no matter who is working and this Popeyes has always been this way for the past 5 years or so. The service is always horrible, they're incredibly slow, they often give me the wrong food and they're never responsive to customers walking in so you can honestly just stand there for 20 minutes without ever being talked to by one of their employees, it can be extremely frustrating. The take out window in the front simply needs a single ipad device or something similar to allow the customers to place orders and pay without stopping the employees from fulfilling orders, because those employees are always constantly busy and there is almost always an unreasonable wait if you walk into the front which is how I prefer to go there. The "atmosphere" is also basically that of a prison cell. I can't blame Popeyes for that entirely though as their food attracts a lower income demographic, but the owner should absolutely do something about the service issues, I'm so sick of getting the wrong food, seeing that I'm missing items or just generally feeling unwanted as a customer when I walk into the front door. Even when the people working there are good, they are constantly over whelmed and under staffed.

I love Popeye’s! I just had to try the new chicken sandwich to see if it was worth it. It’s basically fried chicken with a brioche bun. The bun made it taste better, but I’d say it was overall decent. I was disappointed with the spicy chicken sandwich because it was just the sauce on top instead of in the breading itself. Honestly I prefer Chik Fil A! We didn’t have to wait too long in line, but it wasn’t quick either. I’ll go for just their chicken and sides next time... I also feel like their “spicy” sauce is like a mayo based dressing and it’s not consistent. My friend said they put his on the side, and another said it was overly spicy... maybe because they put too much sauce in hers!

It's the best thing you can get after midnight when you're desperately looking for food. I went there always after hours and they were exteremlyyyyy slow with the orders. It took 40 minutes for our order to get ready as we told they are frying chickens. I guess it's understandable since the demand/supply portion is still high after midnight for that territory. They don't have a place to sit inside and you can only do either take-out or drive-through. We ordered through the mobile app to use an offer but we realized that the application does not ask for your name but somehow generates a name and you should know that for picking your order up.

I wouldn't eat there again horrible food bits and pieces they gave me a chicken tenders images of the breading no chicken very thin the one I went to in Las Vegas has three large tenders very meaty tenders here it was garbage can you tell me that's the way they get it I went back through the drive-through and showed it to him I don't even know if he touched them the young man at the drive-thru they gave it back to me and said that's the way they came to them $11.99 for garbage I am not a trash can picture of trash it I returned it to the company who sent it to him because it wasn't edible and greasy I truly not through with them how they could serve so much garbage like that my suggestion is do not eat there. You have to complain on chat I don't like not reaching a person either but the one in Las Vegas was marvelous it was so good p stay away from the one on La Brea and Jefferson do not go there

If you’re not gonna have any respect for the job and take people’s money just shut the location down because it’s pure disrespect to think you can give someone this. This Popeye’s is a neighborhood running joke on bad management and terrible service. the drive thru is tight and hard to maneuver at the corner of a busy intersection. The staff turnover is insane and everyone who works there including the manager behaves like they really couldn’t care less and are waiting out the clock. They mess up simple orders, overcharge you and ring up items incorrectly when there are deals that you are aware of. If my kid didn’t love fried chicken and there were more convenient locations I would have steered clear a long time ago. Such a shame, our community deserves better.

Dude I was so excited to try the HotOnes ranch and the last dab packets I paid extra for them 60 dollars and they were never delivered. I tried to report it on uber eats and they only gave me 28 dollars back. I just wanted to try the spicy sauces and I am a huge fan of the show and terrified of the burning Scoville levels. I tried to call the restaurant just to see if the sauce was discontinued and their phone is disconnected how heart breaking. And extremely expensive for no reason. And to top it off he set the whole order on a hoard of ants. My food is ruined and I am so sad

Came to this location at 10:24, Made me wait 15mins, checked again, another 5 minutes. People sound like they hate their life. Not friendly in the least. Finally got my food, they forgot an item, I sat at the drivethru window waiting for the big dude to notice me still waiting, told him i was missing an item then gave it to me pretty rudely. Popeyes might want to consider restaffing the whole building seeing these reviews.

Absolutely awful. My son placed an order and was told it would take 14 minutes. He politely asked for a refund, was given part of the money back — and then the employee handling it just left for the day. I went inside to resolve it, and the staff basically said, “Nope, can’t help you.” Seriously? The receipt, the info, everything was right there. I ended up pulling out my camera and filming the interaction — only then did they suddenly decide to give us the full refund. We shouldn’t have to film to be treated fairly. This whole situation was ridiculous, unprofessional, and incredibly frustrating. It's all on camera and in the receipts — they had the info the entire time. Hands down the worst Popeyes experience we’ve ever had.
