This place awesome the portions are insane if your order starter fries bring two people they are huge and absolutely amazing we order the poppers which are incredible and the poutine and cardiac fries and thats all we could eat and both had a crap ton of leftovers highly recommend this place great customer service as well will definitely be back

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Pickled Pig! From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The food was outstanding — everything made in‑house, from their sauces to the smoked meats, shows real care and passion. Their wings and burgers were especially memorable. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating, and the live music adds a fun, lively touch in the evenings. I also loved seeing how much effort they put into sourcing fresh ingredients and making things from scratch. Top-notch service, great food, and a place I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Placid!

I am stuffed and happy. This is a great place with an excellent menu, friendly staff, and full selection of both local and craft beers (including Athletic). I had the ribs, and they were fall apart good, with some tasty sauce, and the fries were perfect. Very friendly staff.

5.17.25 After walking by 3x and not seeing many people sitting outdoors, we finally stopped in to eat. We were shocked that this place wasn't that busy because the food was really good. The indoors has a good vibe, and the outdoor seating is great. Plus, they have a firepit. The pulled pork and burgers were delicious. Our waitress was awesome. I'd definitely come back.

5.17.25 after stopping by another place with slow and not very friendly staff, we stopped here, and although they were busy and short staffed, our waitress was high energy, friendly, efficient, and she made our visit perfect. We had the burger, pulled pork sandwich, and beer. All were great. They also have indoor and outdoor dining and an outdoor firepit. The outdoors is pet friendly.

Rainy day lunch led me to a quick stop for wings—this time, I went with the honey garlic glaze and a side of buffalo. The sweet heat combo hit just right, especially on those crispy, smoked wings. I’ve been here before and sampled plenty of dishes—always flavorful and satisfying. They really go all in on bold, indulgent food, so come with an appetite and leave your diet at the door!

The bartender was awesome, fun, personable. Overall the restaurant is a little tired but I think that's kind of the vibe and idea. Some different options like gf ketchup, spicy ketchup, pickled eggs and picks sausage. We had the xl burger with fries. Fries were good but super salty. The burger was excellent, double smash burger with excellent char, bacon jam, we also got bacon, and the big Mac like sauce was excellent. If you like a good smoky burger that's not pretentious, highly recommend.

Came here after hiking Mt. Marcy and I had serious hiker hunger. I got the crack burger and added bacon. Burger was decent, but I would've eaten anything after that hike. I also tried the peanut butter and jelly old-fashioned, which was awesome. Service was ok. I felt like I was being rushed. The place has great atmosphere with live music, an outside firepit, etc.

Finally some good BBQ in NY but it is 4 and half hours from my place! Just have another location but closer to Westchester county 🙈 We had the chopped brisket sandwich that was packed with flavor and a sauce you wanna bottled up. Then also had the BBQ Rice Bowl with a good ratio of the delicious brisket to rice and veggies. One critique I had or didn’t understand was we got seated first before two other “2-tops” just like us but they got their food out before ours. Luckily we were not in a rush and on vacation, but we would’ve like a warning why it took awhile; 3.5 stars overall cause of that.

It was our first night in Lake Placid, and we spotted The Pickled Pig—a BBQ joint that looked promising. As someone who’s pretty critical about BBQ (it’s my go-to dish whenever I dine out), I was eager to try it but left disappointed. We ordered a couple of baby back ribs, though based on their size, I’m not convinced they were actually baby backs. The meat was juicy and cooked well, but it was drowned in sauce to the point that we had to scrape it off. The sauce itself had a strong tomato-paste taste and just didn’t work for us. We also tried three types of wings. The mango habanero was bland and needed salt and extra Tabasco just to give it flavor. The garlic parmesan didn’t taste like garlic parm at all—instead, it was covered in clumps of wet cheese. The dry rub wings were the best of the bunch, but still just average. For a place that advertised “Best Wings of 2019,” something has definitely changed since then. On a better note, the burger was juicy and well-prepared, and the staff was friendly—we were greeted and made to feel welcome. However, we also noticed that the pricing felt high, especially the kids’ menu. I wouldn’t mind paying a premium if the food delivered, but in this case, it just didn’t. Overall, while the service was good and the burger was decent, the BBQ and wings didn’t meet expectations. For true BBQ lovers, this spot might fall short.
