Great soft serve ice-cream

Very good ice cream. Just underwent small renovation and looks much nicer.

We really enjoy the "soft serve " ice cream. They also serve food, which some ice cream stands do not.

The best raspberry with chunks of dark chocolate ice cream and the strawberry was equally delicious.

I've been looking for a non-corporate ice cream place since we moved our family to Latham, and this place is exactly what I was looking for. Good ice cream, friendly atmosphere, lots of cool tractors and farm implements for the kids to check out.

So much fun to stop here for ice cream. This time I actually got food and it was very good.

The ice cream is great. It wasn't too sweet. My wife had the banana ice cream and we could see actual banana seeds. Brilliant stuff.

I love On the Farm. You can always find a table, and I like that there is lawn space for kids to play - not too much pavement, like other local ice cream locations.

Had ice cream last year. But I enjoy riding by, as the old trike tractor out front is a clear riminder of the one my grandpa use to ride to and from Troy to Grafton everyday at 50 - 60 mph down rte 2 and rte 7 to Troy. . Lol. I just like him but I only drive a case 448 compact garden tractor from my home in Troy to Lou Caprara Billaird Plaza. To give him a helping hand. As he does me.

This location has a fun theme with olden farm equipment carefully placed to carry on the theme. They make their own hard ice cream and have tasty soft ice cream. It is a cute location to bring your family and there is ample picnic tables to sit at while you enjoy you special treat.

Tasty real beef burgers. Also serves veggie burgers. Plenty of seating under umbrellas or tent roof to stay out of sun and rain. Decent prices. Variety if ice cream dishes. Counter pick-up. Burger very tasty and juicy.

I really like On the Farm, it’s a place I have been coming to for years. I prefer this spot over Guptills, which is the other local favorite. I mostly like coming here for ice cream, but they have some nice and reasonably priced fast food style meal items. I purchased a kiddie and medium twist on my recent trip, the total was $6.70. I’d say that amount is about average. The ice cream was very creamy and delicious. Even a little bit better than Kurver. There is ample amount of seating outdoors, both covered by awning and out in the sun. Great spot for a frozen treat during the short NY summers!

On the farm has great food and amazing ice cream. The food is pretty good and there's a decent selection, but the ice cream is where this place really shines. The variety is amazing and it's always really high quality.

This family own business is composed of compassion, empathy and love, not only for their business and each other, but their customers and their families, EVEN DURING the sad loss they've recently suffered. We really enjoyed the icecream. The hard icecream is Perry's. They have punch cards. Buy 10 get one free. Also, if you are in the military or were in the service and have i.d. they give a discount.

Best ice cream stand in Latham NY! 08082022- it really is the BEST ice cream in the area... soft or hard! They have a new hard flavor we want to try... it sounds out of this world!

I love on the farm, it's so nice to eat outside with my puppy. They have a slamming fish fry and cheese fries, my puppy and I love the got dogs, gotta try it if you havn't.

Had "White lighting " and it was outragiously rich and delicious . Warning, portions are huge. I had the small,next time I'll get the kids size. It was too much.

Food was good and the outside experience was lovely. Wish the benches weren't so splintery but the experience was so nice I can overlook that. This is my go-to place for Ice Cream. You can deal with the lines at Sonic if you want but you'll be much happier going here. There are plenty of options to choose from, my favorite is a flurry with M&M's. You can also get other food too, if you're looking for some place to have lunch. I can definitely recommend their bacon cheeseburgers. Their onion rings are also pretty good. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Each table has an umbrella, and there is a covered section with multiple tables. It's the perfect place to grab lunch or ice cream on a nice sunny day. Overall, I would highly recommend checking this place out. Especially if you like supporting family-owned and operated restaurants.

Has great fast food. But especially their soft ice cream is fabulous and you get a great amount. Ice been to other places where you pay more money for example a large come but only get a small to medium size.

I’ve lived in Latham for about 5 years now and just discovered this place recently. Very refreshing to find this place because the ice cream is great and so is the food. The burgers are simple but delicious. You can tell the beef is freshly ground and the hotdogs are top quality. Easily our new favorite ice cream spot in the area.

On the Farm servers Perry's ice cream, which is very good. There are tons of flavors to choose from and the prices are very reasonable (unlike some nearby places!). The staff are very pleasant. Great place to stop by!

Nice little ice cream stand, not a over huge menu were you need to take a long time to decide. They have a card were you can get a stamp for every ice cream you buy and get a free one after 10 stamps.

Food was good - could use a different French fry since these were dry little sticks. Delicious homemade macaroni salad! Ice cream was excellent.

On The Farm has been my childhood summer ice cream shop. My grandfather and I would visit this places every week until it closed again! Ice cream is extremely fresh and delicious. Food is also tasty served quick. Staff is ALWAYS friendly. They serve quick and items are great but wish the prices on everything could go down my a few cents or a dollar.

There were about 15 people there when we went up and got in line. We ordered 4 ice creams to go. Took about 10 minutes. Three soft serve chocolate with cherry dip and one hot fudge sundae. It's basic, nothing outstanding... It's close to the house for a quick ice cream fix!

During summertime specially night time it be so crowded. I Best Buy at night and I feel a lot of gathering. What do you mean they doing great because I work in the morning I haven’t had chance to go and sit down to try their food but from what I’m seeing good space outside looks good from outside as well. This review is a little late being as I was out of town but I was very disappointed when I was quoted one price for my tree and then once it was tied onto the roof of my car was given an entirely different up charged price I will not be purchasing my Christmas tree here anymore

The people were nice but the ice melted to fast on this 50 the sprinkles were really sweet...if your in the area it's most definitely recommended though beautiful view

Got a brownie sundae but it had minimal ice cream, the brownie was meh and it was doused in tons of hot fudge that was really bad quality. Just not worth the price

Friendly people but staff seemed very confused. Ordered 2 kids cups and one had maybe 2 spoons of ice cream in it while the other was double the amount. When asked why the same size ice creams were so different nobody could figure out what we were talking about.

Food is ok. Beautiful place to bring kids/dog for some ice cream. Many picnic tables to sit. They even give free doggy dish(soft vanilla cup w/ milkbone)

One time I was there it was 5 minutes before closing and they told me they were closed. There were people sitting around. Last week I stopped and got 2 small ice creams to go..$10.30. When I got home I was very disappointed there was barely one scoop in each cup it was a half a cup. I paid $5 for a half a cup of ice cream. I will never go there again I will never recommend anyone to go there again it wasn't even enough just barely a half a cup in each one

They don't use gloves when the cook your food. I asked the older blonde about it and she just made a face and gave me attitude. Talk about professionalism. Who knows where her hands have been. Don't want them touching my dinner.

The ice cream is good it’s just sad when the staff is not meeting the same standard. The young girls were honestly very rude.

After years and years of being a loyal customer, I think today was the last time for me. The large chocolate cone that I got was a joke. A complete joke. The ice cream was decent, but my large was the size of a small at most other establishments. It was half the size of a kiddie cone at Martha’s in Lake George. And for $4.50? Wow.

The ice cream was very good. But the owner I felt was extremely rude, when myself and other patrons were eating their ice cream at the picnic tables outside and she shut all the lights off stating that they were closed.you think she would have left the lights on for her remaining patrons who were eating.

Service was terrible. We arrived just after 8:30 PM. The grill was off. So we opted for ice cream and a slushie instead. The medium cone was so tiny compared to other ice cream shops. The sundae topping was drizzled on and it was missing nuts and a cherry (wasn't even asked if they were wanted). The slushie was handed to us in a cup that wasn't even 3/4 full and was too sweet to consume. The flurry was made with the wrong ice cream. The service was terrible. We will not be going here again even though it is the closest place for ice cream. Do not waste your time.

It's been a few years since I went out for ice cream at an ice cream stand, and I can honestly say it'll be a cold day in hell before I pay $6 and change for a kiddie cone! I understand the prices have gone up, but that's just a little ridiculous.

I been buying my trees here for many many years and the past 2 yrs. They have been horrible. But this year was the worst. I got a bigger tree. It looked full. Hot it home and u could see right through the it was bald. Needles were falling off even when u didn't even touch it I am soo disappointed because a beautiful tree is my happiness of Christmas. Now what? I have to buy another one? Who could afford tha? ??? Not me but my grandkids love to decorate the tree every year. I am just so disappointed

The Ryan Family 2024 Christmas Tree selection process: “All good things must come to an end.” My family and I have been going to On the Farm in Latham for many years to pick out our Christmas Tree and we have always had a wonderful experience. Picking out the ‘most important of Christmas symbols” has become one of our most cherished family traditions. We are a bit like Clark Griswold regarding our selection process. We circle and evaluate and critique each specimen carefully inspecting and mentally measuring. It is quite the process, and some years can be quite time consuming. “Good height, but too skinny,” “Nice and round, not tall enough,” That thing wouldn’t fit in our yard… but it’s a beaut,” “This isn’t one of the ones where all the needles fall off?” These are some of the critiques and quotes that can be heard from our family during this selection process. This year, we searched and laughed and enjoyed the family tradition. Even laughing and joking with one of the gentlemen that worked there when he saw us eyeing a behemoth of a tree; my best guesstimate of its height was 12’ tall… honestly it would not have even fit in our yard. Nope, unfortunately, we don’t live like that. We need a more modest, humble height. Although we had a handful of finalists in mind, we spotted laying near the entrance some of the ‘next up’ trees. Laying there waiting for their turn in the spotlight, we observed a couple contestants that had great potential, we asked if we could pick them up to see if maybe, one of them was the one. One of the friendly gentlemen said, ‘Absolutely, go for it.’ As I and our 18-year-old son stood there each with a tree while the wife and youngest made their critiques and selected their favorite, we then switched roles, then again… even some of the other customers stopped by to give their advice and offer up their critiques… again, we were having fun. Not harming anyone, not in the way. If someone was coming, we quickly maneuvered the trees and our judging panel to not interfere with others (we are very courteous and go out of our way to be respectful of others). As we lay the runner-up back into its pile, it was then, right then when we were approached by an unfriendly, rude, grinch of an employee. The woman approached with a snarl and a sneer and indicated that we should NOT be picking up the trees ourselves and they will do it for us. Also, we are in the way and needed to move. As she snatched our selected tree out of my hand, slammed it to the ground and dragged it over to the side, leaving a trail of needles and sad faces in her wake, we couldn’t help but have our spirits dampened. Even if it is ‘policy’ we would have been happy to oblige, all that was needed was a little bit of courtesy. Just a touch of politeness. This woman was just mean and unfriendly. Honestly, we still can’t figure out what we did that made her so angry… perhaps that is her everyday mood? We ended up purchasing our tree, not the one that was mercilessly dragged across the ground, but another one. We debated on just leaving, but there really was a couple of top contenders just itching for a spot, center stage in the Ryan family living room. In the end, this story doesn’t mean anything to anyone and won’t stop people from going there. I am sure there are 100s of people that will get their tree there this year and be perfectly happy with the experience. However, this was our experience. We have a great tree and a bad memory. We enjoyed going to On the Farm for the many years, but as I stated at the beginning… All good things must come to an end. Merry Christmas everyone!

Great ice cream but over five dollars for a kiddie cone. Woman worker was extremely rude. She asked me if I had their ice cream card, when you buy 10 ice creams u get a free one, I do have one but didn't have one with me so I asked her to punch a whole in a new card, she went on to explain to me that since I already had a card I could not get a new one. It made no sense to me. I do like their ice cream but I will never be returning

I don't know if they have new owners but my experience this year hasn't been great. The older guy at the menu wasn't friendly. I ordered chili cheese fries a hot dog and a chocolate milk shake. The chili on the cheese fries didn't look right and they put a small amount of cheese on the fries, a teaspoon amount. Unfortunately the bottom was all grease mixed with cheese. All together I paid 16 dollars and change. The best part was the shake i took two bites of the fries and the chilli was gross and didnt look good. The hot dog was look warm needed more time on grill. So sad because my experiences before this time have been great. It seems like its going down hill with its food. It seems as prices go up the food sucks.
