We go there primarily because you can't beat their red beans and rice anywhere! But their chicken is pretty great too and their cole slaw is nothing to sneeze at either! We also buy extra biscuits and eat them either as dessert with butter and honey or make breakfast sandwiches or biscuits and gravy with the left overs the next morning. They're pretty yummy any way we eat them. The staff is great, there's never much of a wait, and we usually hit a bargain that helps with the cost!
Some of the best service I’ve had at a fast food restaurant. Food came out hot and tasted phenomenal I’ll be getting Popeyes once a week. They got best chicken sandwich in the city. They have been a much improvement establishment in the last few months !

The manager today during lunch was awesome. She politely informed me that they were out of shrimp and offered a replacement. She went ahead and comped out my meal and I was speechless yet appreciative. Being in that industry for 6 years and always being the one doing that for others and it happened to me today.. She definitely deserves a raise along with her hard working staff 😊
We showed up at exactly 10 PM which is when the lobby closes and the manager let us in without hesitation. She then proceeded to spoil the hell out of us with more food than we actually ordered, made several great suggestions, and was generally very personable and super excited to talk to us. I worked in the food industry for 12 years and very rarely do I encounter people with that sort of enthusiasm. The food was also amazing but I’m going to go back mainly because of the service. Great stuff guys

My favorite restaurant right now 🧡Staff has been patient and nice. I love their Cajun mashed potatoes, boneless honey BBQ wings, and biscuit. Their interior is always clean and I like the warm colors.
Customer service was great. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! We tried ordering a chicken sandwich on the app; but it wouldn't let us. They explained that it was because they were out of regular mayo, which separates the original from spicy, and the app can't explain the problem, so it just says they are out. Me and my wife both redeemed a free spicy chicken sandwich from the app with our points and just asked them to hold the spicy mayo. They also gave me a side of the spicy mayo to try. The food was ready quickly and very fresh. They made the whole experience easy and smooth.
I came to grab some lunch and I was not expecting the service to be this good, by far the best service I’ve received even if I was to compare it to a dine in restaurant! Service was astonishingly fast and my cashier Paola was so friendly and patient and was able to switch between Spanish and English super fast. The manager Gladys was also very kind and a hard worker. She is very quick on her feet and made my meal personally!! The food was amazing and it was such a clean environment I could see my reflection in the floors! And I could see another employee itzel working her butt off and offering an extra hand to anyone who might need it!

This store in particular has great staff who care about the speed and quality of there customer service. I don't speak for all Popeyes locations. But this one is great.
Usually Popeyes workers are really rude but this Popeyes is unlike any one I’ve ever been to. They are so friendly and provide great service. Best Popeyes experience I have ever had. Honestly, best fast food experience I’ve had. I would highly recommend going to this Popeyes.
Very cheerful and kind staff, restaurant looked very clean and the sandwich was delicious! My go to will always be Popeyes. Not only every time I go the food is fresh but I’m always greeted nicely. Amazing costumer service. Great job guys, keep up the good work.
Redid my order for all dark meat when I arrived for pickup. Fantastic chicken quality, efficient and understanding staff and managers. 40$ gave my wife and I around 5-6 meals which were fantastic both in the microwave and in the air fryer.
This place has gotten so much better over the last months. The place is always clean and has one of the nicest employees. I get Popeyes almost every other day. Check the people who put bad reviews they just want to make bad reputation on restaurants.. they have nothing to do.
I ate here noonish today and was pleasantly surprised by the service! No comparison to the one and only other time visiting this location over a year ago. The food was excellently prepared, the dining area was spotless, and the staff was the best part. So friendly and attentive! Will be visiting again.
It's rare I get to have time to spend with my parents. We drove from across town, in the middle of the dinner rush, there were a lot of people. I thank you for helping me out to enjoy the time I had with them. Fast, Friendly, Clean, Pleasant atmosphere, Accommodating, Manager great and staff too. Great tasting, fresh, hot, crunchy, spicy, juicy, appropriately sized completed orders. Thank you.

I’m telling you right now this isn’t a regular popeyes, I have had really bad experiences with Popeyes but I love it because the food is so good. They turned this experience around for me the lady with the short hair made my day by seeing that we still have hard working people in America. Awesome food and even better people!!!
I came to popeyes today and i noticed a bunch of different things. The lobby was impeccable, completely new employees, and better service. Around a year ago i had come to this popeyes location and the person who took my order was on a call while assisting me… nothing compared to the new cashiers. Thank god the popeyes in lawrence kansas was saved. Best spicy chicken sandwich in Lawrence.

The manager i think her name started with a G? But i don’t speak very good English and she speak spanish and helped me order my food! great lady and service will come back loved her!!!!!!!!
I am always satisfied with my meals and every time I go I always get offered what new on the menu. Never miss out on a new snack or meal. I order on uber eats and never have problems. The manager and staff are very sweet.
Always come in during my lunch time and I always get greeted by the nice staff, the manager Gladis is very professional and helped me because I don’t speak good English. The food was nice and fresh and very clean.
Very clean restaurant. Tables had been bussed. Prompt cheerful server. Excellent spicy chicken sandwich. The meat was thick, juicy and had an amazing crunch. The bun was substantial and flavorful. Thick, crunchy pickle slices and spicy dressing. Battered fries were very crisp and well seasoned.
This location often has a long wait in the drive through and frequently runs out of menu items. Certain menu items I thought were Popeyes standards are simply not served here. If you're flexible with your order and not in a serious hurry the food is great.
The last 3 times I've been here things have been really good. My food was hot, order was mostly correct and what wasn't, was fixed easily .

Nothing special. Not bad. They are decently fast. It's not dirty, it's fairly clean for fast food. Bathrooms were clean when I was there. Fairly decent example of a Popeyes restaurant. It's staffed with college kids, expect what comes with it. Results may vary.
4 stars but more like 3.5. The people are great and the food is good to an Popeyes standard. However, they constantly don’t have certain sodas or chicken nuggets, etc. fix this issue and this is a model location for Popeyes !!!! Great people
Disappointed! Never been to Popeyes before but have always heard people rave about 'em. My son got a bacon cheese sandwich combo & I got a 3-pc combo. Best part was the fries, worst was the biscuit (too dense). Chicken was super crunchy, but blah on flavor. We wanted something spicy and also tried the ghost pepper wings. Boring!! The service was good, quick, and friendly, but food was totally underwhelming. They had above average customer traffic after we ordered, but I don't have much need to try again.
Look I love Popeyes chicken and none of this is the employees fault, but we ordered and they were maybe at half staff or less. They were out of nuggets, and when we asked for strips they said can we wait five minutes that turned into 30. Parts of the menu were broken and the lobby was closed so we couldn't even go in and ask what was happening. I appreciate how hard everyone was working, but management needs to staff up, it must be as hard to work there as it is to eat there. Great chicken and friendly staff though!
I wanted to share my thoughts on my recent experiences at your restaurant, as I believe constructive feedback can contribute to improvements. I truly wish I could give your establishment more stars, as I have a genuine love for your chicken wings. Unfortunately, my visits have been touch and go due to a few recurring issues. There have been instances where the chicken was not cooked thoroughly, which is concerning given my appreciation for the dish. Moreover, the drinks have had an excess of carbonation, resulting in a taste that is somewhat lacking and flavorless. Drinks getting messed up in the order, orders even missing items bought. While the service is generally acceptable, I have encountered instances of disrespect and perceived laziness from some staff members, which affects the overall dining experience. Furthermore, the restaurant itself seems to lack the luster it deserves. The exterior, especially with the paper on the outside menu at one point, gave the impression of being tacky and made the establishment look dingy. Despite these challenges, my love for your wings keeps me coming back, with the hope that these issues can be addressed and the dining experience can be consistently enjoyable. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to witnessing positive changes in the future.
The service was prompt and courteous! The food tasted good but the chicken pieces seemed way smaller! Like they were from a Cornish hen instead of a chicken! Used to be so much better!
Every time I've been there they give me the regular version of whatever diet drink I ordered. I'm diabetic and really don't want to die a gruesome death because my fast food order wasn't what I expected. I get it mix ups happen, but 4 times??? Chicken is pretty good tho
The food is delicious. However, at pick-up I asked if we had everything and the lady grumbled yes. We were missing half our order and had to go back to get it. Same lady at drive thru either said nothing or grumble something as she handed us the rest if our order. It seemed as though we were inconveniencing her with our patronage. Good food - yes, good customer service - no.
I am a big person for chicken. (This happened a couple months ago) But this experience was beyond sad. Around 7PM we went to get dinner. Popeyes was brought up. We drove to Popeyes and ordered chicken tenders, and more fried chicken. Ordered just for them to say the didn’t have chicken and they wouldn’t for another “10-15 minutes” 30 minutes later and still waiting when we see others getting chicken. We ask about it and they give us our (COLD) chicken. Walked out with a refund and threw it away. I will not be coming back SOON, but I might give it another try. Hopefully this was a one time thing.
Nothing like I remembered. Red beans taste like nothing but liquid smoke. BBQ sauce not much better. Mac n cheese was alright but the weird congealed cheese ruins it. Mashed potatoes were decent but the gravy was really odd. I could tell the fries would be good if they weren't old and shriveled. Dismal vegetarian options, basically just sides.
The chicken is great, better than you know who. The sides were a different story. Biscuits were like a hockey puck, potatoes and gravy was only filled half way on a large and the gravy tasted funny. And I'm not sure what I was served when I ordered the coleslaw.
I am flabbergasted at how long I had to wait for food and even more so at how little consolation I was offered. We ordered, pulled up and paid, waited about 5 min, were told they were dropping fresh tenders for us, waited about 10 min; the clerk came to the window and told us that they sold all of those tenders to inside customers (we were at the drive thru window), but she is having the fryer hold some out of this next batch, so would I pull forward to wait off to the side and my food would be walked out to me? I complied; about 10 min later our food was walked out. The guy did apologize for the wait but he was not super sincere about it, and, frankly, after a 30 minute wait, I think a refund or coupon for a future visit would have been appropriate. I do not want handouts, but I have waited less time for most steak dinners. Very disappointed! I was too hungry and too far time committed already to have just asked for a refund after the first 20 min or I would have. The food was good. :/
Food is good but they never have any of it to sell. Like, ever. I have been told they have no biscuits, no shrimp, no chicken sandwich, and just flat out no chicken multiple times. I have never been here and been able to get my entire order. Usually we are lucky to even get half of it. Workers are rude but that's what you expect from Popeyes, I wouldn't care if they actually served food. I would come here probably three times as often as I do if I wasn't worried they were gonna be out of everything when I showed up, which they always are. Also never order online. They won't tell you they are sold out of everything you ordered until you show up anyway, and you won't get your money back until you contact their online support because they won't refund you in store.
We got there at 8pm and we're told the only food they had left was mashed potatoes and bone-in chicken. This has happened before. Last time we placed a pickup order, went to get it and were told they were closed and had no food. From these 2 experiences I can logically say not to try here for dinner/late night meals. Otherwise the food is great. It's been my experience that it's hot and fresh during the day and obviously tasty or I wouldn't keep going back!
Food is great—WHEN you can get it!! 90% of the time when I go there they “just ran out” of fries! The last time…no fries, no mashed potatoes, no Mac n cheese, no Coke, no Dr Pepper, and another main dish someone after me wanted—I think it was shrimp. Is this a failure company-wide or is it on the manager of this particular location? No other restaurants in town are running out of menu items. Very frustrating. If I go again I’ll call ahead and ask what they’re out of.
I hesitated to write this earlier, but I am a true to hear reviewer both in reading reviews and leaving reviews. I have always loved Popeye's overall, but the day I was there during the week at lunch time, was the most messed up experience I have had in a very long time. There was a drive through line around the building and out into the street, which should have told me not to go there that day, but I did because of the great product they sell. So i parked and went inside and there were several patrons standing waiting, so i asked them if i was cutting in front of them, and they said NO that they are STILL waiting on their food orders. Their frustrations were mounting and people were losing their patience. i went ahead and ordered with some patience in mind, and then looked up on the monitors hanging from the ceiling behind the sales counter and that is where the orders are viewed with timers showing how long the order was taken. I then saw some of them at 18-25 minutes and realized that I was in for a overnight event....[not really], but a decent wait of over 15 minutes to get my order of food that they did have in stock, but that was after telling them that i would go ahead and be flexible with the choice of legs and breasts. i felt like a counselor that day as i believe i kept people somewhat calmer by talking to them and visiting. Oh well, things happen sometimes in the fast food business, but they should be trained to keep a dialogue going by informing all patrons that are waiting for their food as to what is currently going on both in the time clock and the product cooking. I think they should have given most of the patrons that I saw and visited with a coupon for a free meal on a future visit to soften the blow of disappointment. The food gets a 5 star review, but the service that day is a 1 star, so I hope the management sees the underlying recommendations in my review. Good luck Popeye's
What is up with this Popeyes? I tried to go last week and sat in line for 20 minutes without it moving before I abandoned it. I tried again a couple of days ago and once again, I sat in line for 10 minutes. The speaker was broken, so I roll up to the window and waited behind someone else. When i get helped, service is slow, and they're out of what I want. The doors are locked, so you can't go in the actual store. I gave 2 stars for service because at least the staff was nice, but this was overall a very weird experience.
I was disappointed. The fish sandwich was overwhelmed with sauce, making the filet soggy instead of crisp and had so little lettuce that none would have been better. The coleslaw was good but barely filled half of the small container. The dining area could have used a good sweep-up. I love Popeye's chicken but had not visited for several weeks. Again, I was disappointed.
Asked for an extra pk of BBQ sauce. Mexican Manager said no very rudely. Chicken strips were a joke. Manager needs to be fired. zero customer skills.
The spicy chicken sandwich was pretty good but my wife got a large order of coleslaw and it basically tasted and had the texture of glue. I'm pretty sure that was not a normal representation of their coleslaw but I don't eat there often enough to know for sure.
Foods good, though I do get a pretty bad piece of chicken in my sandwich often. Last time at the front of the drive thru line I sat at the order screen for over 5 minutes with no cars ahead of me and no one responding before I decided to leave. Person working the drive thru straight up just doesn’t even take your order half the time despite them being open and staffed lol. Surprised they haven’t shut down.
Super small and skinny tenders, did me dirty on my potatos . The small scoop of potatoes that gave me didn't even cover the bottom of the bowl . There wasn't even enough to do that
I like Popeyes food, but this experience was disappointing. Popeyes advertised a T-Mobile Tuesdays $1, 3-piece chicken tenders promotion. I had three separate T-Mobile lines, each with a unique promo code. None of the codes worked — the app returned either “invalid code” or “already applied,” despite no code ever being successfully redeemed. Popeyes Guest Care acknowledged the issue, credited 600 reward points, and then stated they would not provide further remediation. The original advertised offer was never honored. This occurred when attempting to order from this location via the Popeyes app. I’m leaving this review so others are aware that advertised promotions may not be honored when technical issues occur.
Used to subpar service here, but I like the food, so what can you do. Today I came in and two girls were leaned against the register counter, back to me, discussing an Instagram post, or some such crap on their cell phones. No greeting, no acknowledgement that I was 2 feet away...backs turned. KFC it is, from now on. I always feel like im inconveniencing the help at this Popeyes location..No more.
I have avoided Popeyes for the last 5 years because whenever I had it was always dry and there was no seasoning? no sauce. Just bland. I recently saw all of the TV Commercials advertising smothered boneless Spicy Chicken Wings and a smothered spicy chicken sandwich. So I thought I’d give it another go. I ordered the Spicy Chicken sandwich with their spicy mayo. When it came in it was a regular chicken sandwich no spice and didn’t taste fresh. The smothered boneless chicken I saw on TV… No sauce at all. I am convinced at this point Popeyes Hates sauce and flavor with a passion. They had an opportunity to win back a customer and now I am more convinced than ever to avoid it.
Clearly the chicken is over cooked and dry. My order was not correct and when I went back in to address the issue, the clerk tried to make it seem as if I was lying. The drive thru order person Clearly didn't speak english and told me he didn't understand what I was trying to order 🤔🤔, yet he has the accent. Overall I definitely will not be going back to this Popeye's.
They have to at least be wondering about this store by now. Gave this location it's last chance a few days ago and it was the same result as previously. I suppose everytime I show up nobody feels like working, cause the excuse this time was they didn't have spicy chicken or chickens sandwiches, just some blackened breading sandwich. Glory days are over and on top of that there's multiple choices when it comes to chicken in lawrence and theres one or two I have not tried yet, my last comment ever.
This is our second time we have got from this store that was substandard. The chicken strips are not as full as they were and it's my thoughts that deap frying these thiner chicken strips using the thicker timing makes them hard to eat, much like trying to eat Jurky. It's really sad they were so tender and juicy. And the people that served us were very friendly and fast getting our order.
I’ve been to the Lawrence location twice in the last few weeks. Both times they were out of sandwiches & nuggets. The 2nd time the drive-thru speaker didn’t work per the sign taped to the speaker. So we patiently waited in line to order at the window. Estimated window wait time ~ 20 min. Here’s an idea…put a sign up on the drive thru signage advising you don’t have whatever. Needless to say we didn’t order anything. Chipotle got our business tonight. Also if there’s some sort of shortage or the manager isn’t good at managing - just say something!
Very rude crew, not just the cashier but the whole crew. Order the spicy chicken sandwich, it tasted like it was cooked 4 or more hours ago. I worked at a fast food restaurant, so I know how long a chicken was cooked to taste this bad. NEVER going there again.
In line 15 minutes behind a car because your employee does not speak english to the car in front of me and they cant understand each other. I finally get to the speaker and the non-english speaking girl tells me it will take 20 minutes to make bone in wings. Terrible service. It is dinner time...have product ready....have someone who speaks English on the mic. Terribly run store. Always has been but lately much worse. Fix it or close down.
The drive through windows speaker was out of order. I waited 30 minutes in line several car's in front of me waited so long they gave up and left.When I finally got to the windows to order I order one thing one original breast. The box came out quickly. I get home and it's a thigh. I try to call the restaurant several times no answer. You would think they could get one thing correct. Oh well open the box every time are just go to KFC
Tonight I stopped by and visited store number658. I got two combos, a two piece with a biscuit and an extra biscuit. The second combo was a three-piece meal spicy, with mashed potatoes. Upon arriving at my home cuz I normally don't have any issues with my food. I discovered my three-piece was actually one big piece of chicken and two chicken tenders. Meanwhile I did not receive my extra biscuit. I tried to reach the store because I was at least 6 or 7 Miles away and there was no response by phone. I'm not sure if I want to return back to this Popeyes restaurant.
Was there last Thursday. They had no sides at all. Not even French fries. Only coleslaw. Went there again today. The guy working drive through had his phone setting camera up right in front of the credit card machine. Looked like little dude was recording cc # as he passed the card into the machine.. Not Cool.
Corporate clearly doesn't care about this location, expect it to be shut down soon. The drive thru intercom apparently doesn't work, so they've got a duct taped sign telling you to pull forward. They were only taking one order at a time at the window. Their second menu board doesn't even work. Just terrible. Absolute waste of time to use the drive thru. It's probably just as bad inside, but why bother checking when it's this bad on the outside. Better off shutting down and letting a business take over that isn't in shambles. Staff was all friendly and apologetic, which makes it even worse that the owner is so unwilling to fix things here.
This location needs to close indefinitely!! Everytime you go there they’re out of something, or just don’t feel like making it. Order is never right and you always get someone else’s food. Then workers will get pissed off when you tell them they gave you the wrong order. Popeyes is awesome, just not Lawrence, KS
I generally like Popeyes, but I won’t be returning to this one. Every time I have ordered, there’s been something missing or just outright wrong. I started checking before I left which seemed to bother some of the employees, even after having to ask for the correct order. I have the flu right now, though. I’m trying to rest and stay away from the general public as much as possible, so ordered for an uber delivery. The driver was phenomenal, but some of the food was wrong or missing. Again. Kind of the last thing I wanted to deal with on the first day I felt like I could keep something down that wasn’t broth. At least the chicken was good.
The shrimp had clearly been sitting out for a while, the chicken was uncomfortably pink and hard, the mashed potatoes were approaching soup-consistency, and the fries were softest, limpest fries I have ever seen. The only edible thing I was given was the biscuit. I hate this place. It used to be decent but is now garbage. I'll never be back to this place.
If I could give a negative start I would. This place is ghetto and unprofessional. I’ve gone here more than five times and they always get my order wrong or the give me like 5 fries with my meal literally. The employees are patting their heads and scratching their stomachs and don’t wear no gloves. I know it sounds crazy but this is what they are literally doing. The food is always over cooked and the employees attitudes is crazy. I asked for more fries with my meal since I only counted 5 in the box and the window guy gave me more but first flip flopped them in his hand back and forth like he was juggling a ball. Like where do they do that at? This place needs to be shut down period. I can go to Kansas City on troost and get better service than this. Sincerely, A black woman
We went thru the drive thru. Not only did they get our order wrong, but they didn't have any chicken ready. We ended up cancelling our whole order and left. We will not be going there ever again. You have lost our business forever.
If you’re going to order food here: 1) DO NOT buy it from the drive-up window! They will try to get away with giving you crappy pieces of chicken, hoping you won’t come back. 2) CHECK to make sure your order is okay. A five-piece box of chicken should not be five scrawny wings that are mostly fried coating. 3) BE PREPARED to return your order or ask for your money back if they do not give you high-quality pieces of fried chicken. We had a really bad experience at this restaurant tonight. Don’t let them get away with cheating you! They should not be serving you poorly prepared chicken that they would not eat themselves. I like Popeye’s as a chain, but I’m reluctant to go back to this particular store.

I asked for a 5 piece regular combo, and was then asked how many pieces and what size I wanted. My husband asked for a fish sandwich large comb. Somehow the cashier rang him up for two spicy pickle glazed sandwich combos. My chicken tasted old, the coleslaw was hot. I also saw a cockroach climbing on a table in the lobby, we ended up throwing everything away.
This location was a little busy, but the employees weren’t the nicest. I waited in the drive through for 20 minutes past when my order was supposed to be done. I went up to the window and they said they just gave my food away to a different person. So I waited another 5 minutes for my food. They forgot my fries and my drink. My sandwich was cold so I had to go back inside to get a new one. And they didn’t trust that I bought a large drink so they gave me a small soda instead. Also the mango lemonade is very bad. Large chunks of ice and the mango was not mixed in.
Waited in line 20 minutes for 12 BONELESS wings. When i arrived home with my order, I discovered they gave me 12 BONE IN wings. Even better? They were in the wrong sauce. Not sure why it takes 20 minutes with only 2 people in line and an otherwise empty parking lot, but I do know if you have to wait that long for "fast food", you should a minimum get the correct order. Also! Won't give refunds over the phone, but offer you to "bring it back tomorrow" for a refund, as if I wasn't trying to eat dinner and then go to work. Now I'm going to work without dinner or a refund. Awful.
Too many other good chicken options to deal with this store. Orders are rarely correct the first time so make sure you check your food before you leave!
Terrible staff that consistently forgets items. Today they were out of spicy chicken and forgot my biscuit in my meal.

The manager is super disrespectful constantly lies about making fresh chicken when we said we’d wait for it. Our food has had roaches in it there lobby tables our never clean. I know for sure they have mice I used to work there. I have never in my life ever seen an establishment so unprofessional as this location it used to be my fav place to eat in town now I wouldn’t even reference them to my worst enemy expect 15-20 min wait times food that has been sitting out for over 45 mins disrespectful crew and staff and E. coli
It took forever to get service while standing at the counter, a bunch of people standing around and not working. Food was cold and when I let the manager know the coke was out on the machine she told me that I would just have to drink what’s there. I’m from New Orleans and it’s sad how this location represents Louisiana.
The new GM that took over has absolutely no idea what’s going on. Her daughter took my order at the speaker and then told me to pull forward which I did. When I got to the window a man that spoke no English just stared at me as I tried to hand him my phone for Apple Pay. I kept asking for Apple Pay and he didn’t know what was going on so he went to get the GM. The GM also just stares at me as I try and hand her my card . I asked , apply pay? And she said yeah so I continued holding my phone out and she just said “can I help you??” In a nasty attitude that she always has. I said I already ordered and she said “well I don’t have it repeat it” so I did. They told me to pull forward and wait cause it’s gonna take 4 mins. This is at 8:36pm. I pull forward and I notice it’s now 8:45 and 4 or 5 other cars have been served. I continue to wait and nothing . I reverse to the window and am not approached for a solid 2 minutes. The daughter opens the window and just stares at me. Doesn’t say anything other than “yeah?” I said I’m still waiting on my food. Everyone looks around clueless and in confusion. At this point, the chicken I asked to be made fresh, had now been done for 12 mins. I asked them to remake it again since they took so long and they did not. They threw me 2 extra tenders but they didn’t give me my biscuit. I continue to wait at the window because she closed it in my face immediately . About 45 seconds passes and she finally opens the window. Mind you they’re all standing in the window talking and laughing they’re not off doing things. She comes back and is like “yes?” Again, with attitude. And I said I’m still waiting for my biscuit. The daughter picks up a biscuit she dropped on the floor and while laughing asked the gm if she should give me that one. Didn’t think this place could go more downhill but it absolutely did with the new management .
I’m so done with chicken places charging extreme amounts for chicken that doesn’t meet the standard. Spent $90 on 16 piece meal, 2 drinks, one chicken sandwich and 24 piece boneless wing variety. NOT EXAGGERATION the chicken LEGS were barely larger than the drums off the wings…ALL THE LEGS! WTH !?!
I placed an order on the mobile app. The mobile app accepted my order with no issues. I show up and they are slow as can be. Their speaker system is not working and they are just moving at a snails pace. I get up to the front and they don't know where my order is. It's cold and all I did was wait in the line so that should say how long it is. They missed a drink and I only got it because I said they forgot it. I leave and get home they forgot half of my meal. Of course there is no phone number to call so went on their customer service chat. Their chat didn't help so they said they would have someone reach out to me within 24-48 hours. I then had to fix my son food because he wouldn't eat the half of my order I did get. I got an email and they offered me points. They refuse to get me a refund. I am not accepting points at this time. I don't ever want to go back to any Popeyes so points will not do me any good. They will also not allow a manager to contact me about my issue. They said all we do is solve problems via email. Popeyes location is the Lawrence, KS location.
On 2-22-26 I tried to place an order through the Popeyes app for pickup at your Lawrence ks location store 12179. The system kept telling me your point of sale system (POS) was down. I showed this and explained the situation to the on duty Manager (Ashley) at this location. This woman was rudest, most disrespectful, unprofessional, employee I have crossed in a long time. I would be embarrassed if this person wore anything that showed she collected a paycheck from a company I owned or worked at. I explained my issue and showed her the deal and price and all I got was “It’s not my problem”. I witnessed similar actions taken towards other customers. Had I not had people already planning on this food I would have walked away, unfortunately I had already offered and was committed. I eventually received my order after a 20 minute wait and was still charged more than what the app showed. It’s not the $5.00 difference I am upset about, it’s the employees lack of customer service, un-professionalism, lack of empathy, and piss poor attitude for the situation. Rude worthless employees like this make it hard for the real hard working people out their that appreciate having a paycheck and appreciate customers paying inflated prices for better wages. I do not recommend this store if you are hungry and desire polite assistance
My wife sat in the drive-through for 30 minutes waiting on an order now she is late picking up our son. The lady barely spoke English and was very rude. I would never ever advise anybody to go to this establishment.
On January 20th an hour before they close. Popeyes is always very relaxed with their work ethic (really slow compared to other restaurants) Popeyes locks its front door an hour early which is something that they never do that I'm aware of. Doesn't leave a sign in the door saying that the drive-thru still open. A car facing the other way at the exit of the drive-thru like workers are leaving an hour early. I get in trouble with DoorDash Because I thought the restaurant was closed? Contract violation So I call them and I tell them and they are lying saying the person that answered is the manager. They lie said they put a sign up in the door. The next day when I called them. Why don't you look at your sales on January 20th and see if you got any sales after they locked their front door before 10:00 pm. What You got one sale on January 20th after 10:00 pm? Oh did your workers get their early for doing nothing? Hell yeah I'm writing a comment of the truth. You got me in trouble with DoorDash for your incompetency.
I just ordered 3 meals, one for me and my 2 daughters. Not only did we not get our 2 orders of fries, we have now found 2 curly brown hairs, one in the wings and one in the chicken breast. I tried calling 2 times now and no one will answer. Place is nasty and they need hair nets.
When I place the order the woman couldn't understand anything I was saying and I could not understand her. She was very rude when we got up to the window and when she handed me my change it fell all over the ground and she just turned around and walked off. The chicken with spicy and hot and I ordered original. My grandson's chicken sandwich was also spicy we also did not receive any sauces for the chicken strips. We couldn't eat our food and they did not give us our drink. I will never go there again. Last time I was there my card hacked.
Mobile order, the lobby was full of people, I stood there 10 minutes without anyone working there acknowledging anyone in line. I finally spoke up to the lady behind the counter to get my order that was ready. Rude customer service. Got home and realized our order was missing items and the 10 piece meal was not what we custom created. Overall bad service.
I am beyond dissatisfied. Ordered delivery thinking we hadn't been in awhile and I absolutely love Popeyes usually however Everytime we go to drive thru we get rude as rude can be service. So ordered through ubereats. However we got our 68.00 meal of 8 whimpy PCs of chicken, one small scoop of cold potatoes a half filled family Mac and cheese and a half filled, one scoop of coleslaw. We also thought we would try the cheesecake and seeing as it costs twice as much as the pies we thought it would be semi larger than this. 6.00 for a cheesecake that is the size of the palm of a normal hand. Went to call and complain but phone just rang and rang then went to a busy signal. I'm so disappointed that after 68.00 I have to still cook for my kids to get full. Save your money or go elsewhere because this place leaves you feeling ripped off.
The food is okay, definitely not worth being disrespected by the lady at the drive through. Speaking Spanish and giggling in retaliation also didn’t help, if you really like Popeyes, by all means go but if you can go without it there’s no need to subject yourself to this place.
I ordered Popeyes through UberEats and within an hour and a half four different drivers left because my order wasn't ready. There's some serious slacking going on in that building. And I don't know where it's at or care really but somebody needs to fix it. Or shut the restaurant down because it's a known issue, and an ongoing issue.
I never write reviews (especially bad ones) but hoping that these guys get it together. I haven’t gone here for a while because each time we have gone the food is absolutely terrible. The service is always awful. We decided to give it another try after boycotting and is still absolutely disgusting. I ordered a 3pc meal with Mac n cheese. As soon as I bit into the chicken, grease came pouring out from underneath the breading & the chicken was raw. The mac n cheese clearly had been sitting for a long time. It was gritty and rubbery. I ended up throwing away the whole meal. I sincerely hope they change management before they get someone sick. I will not be returning to this location again which is disappointing because I’ve always loved Popeyes!
I used to love this place, but have had significant issues recently and won't be returning. I've made two orders in the last week because there was something I really wanted to try. The first time they kept cancelling my order and were unnecessarily rude about it. I left with no food. Yesterday I decided to try one more time and double checked to make sure they hadn't cancelled my order again. This time I got the order, but they didn't give me the item that I was so excited about, that I paid for, and the chicken had weird red spots all over the breading. We were afraid to eat it. I'm including a photo that doesn't quite do it justice, but you get the idea. I'd suggest avoiding this place now.
Tonight I visited Popeye's in Lawrence Kansas store number 658. I got two combo Meals one was a two-piece with an extra biscuit mashed potatoes and the second combo was a three piece mashed potatoes. I have always trusted that in my order has been correct. But on tonight, upon entering my home and opening up my bags I noticed that not only do I not have my extra biscuit but my three pieces actually one huge big piece of chicken and two chicken tenders which I find rather insulting. Popeyes, did you really think that you're one piece of chicken and two tenders was going to go unnoticed? Has a great chance I'm not coming back to this restaurant and then I looked on Google only to find a slew of bad reviews so you can just add my complaint to the rest of the heaping pile of bad reviews you already have. And oh yeah, I'll be disputing this charge to get my money back from my bank. Cuz I reached out to your store twice with no answer or no response.
Literally asked for three piece combo and a spicy chicken sandwich, with another three piece and instead they didn’t have any dark meat at all and when, I went to give her my card the women aggressively took it gave it back to me and when she gave me my drinks, she kept saying here you go repetitively to rush me, Also I asked for the Meg stallion sauce and honey mustard and they told me it’ll be at the window but instead they never give me the sauce or just one, I’ll never understand how hard it is just to give out sauce…..especially if that’s your promo deal for this season….that’s beyond me…AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS I GOT SOME RAW FOOD
