Opinions de The Village Lanterne Lindenhurst
The atmosphere and vibe here is incredible. The decor makes you feel like you've been transported from Long Island to a local restaurant in Germany. The live band is great and made the dining experience so much more enjoyable. Our party was there for dinner and the server did warn us that the wait time was going to be over an hour. So be warned if you plan to dine here on a busy weekend night. Plan to do some waiting. The food was great once it arrived. Overall, everyone had a very pleasant time. If you're craving for German food or a spot for some good food and a lively atmosphere then would recommend!
My first time experiencing this wonderful place. Great beer selection. Full menu with a wide variety of dishes. Big flavorful servings. A wonderful atmosphere. This was my first time, but certainly not my last. Definitely a place worth trying!
Food was absolutely fantastic, The atmosphere is wonderful and our waitress was super friendly. Unfortunately it seemed like she was stretched across way too many tables and the wait for everything was much longer than it should have been. Regardless, I'll assume this is a one time hiccup and will absolutely be back.
Great service, superb and abundant food, incredible atmosphere. From the food runner to the waitresses and the hostess, the best place in Lindenhurst. Absolutely the best beer. Well done, everything was wonderful.
The Village Lanterne is a great spot for authentic German food. Everything we had was fresh and absolutely delicious, and the menu offers plenty of food and drink options to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. One of the coolest parts of this place is the décor inside. The traditional German-style decorations really stand out and make the atmosphere feel warm and unique. It adds a lot to the overall experience and makes it a fun place to sit and enjoy a meal. The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially when it came to explaining the menu. This place does get busy, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation. Parking in the village can also be a little tough at times. Overall, it’s a must-try and well worth the visit.
Had my birthday here with my kids and it was amazing. The people who were at the tables near us were all talking to me and each other. It was so inviting and like a community. Olivia was our waitress and she was fantastic! Great ambiance, live music was playing. They have an open mic on Mondays and there were Jim Croce songs, George Harrison, some stones and more. The food was very German. My kids schplit a schnitzel and they loved it with their spaetzle. I had the schwab dinner and I was super happy with it. The whole thing was amazing. See my pics
Had a 5pm reservation we were sat promptly in a cozy booth. Our waitress Olivia was very kind and knowledgeable with recommendations and explaining the menu. Food and beers were delicious. The live music was great we truly enjoyed ourselves. Homemade desserts were a treat. We will be back!
Was there for an Oktoberfest dinner with family. We got there around 5:30 and live music began playing soon after we sat down. Food is always good, but when it is crowded, as expected, food takes a little longer to come out. I was happy to order an appetizer and fresh rolls came out , which helped with the delay. In the meantime, service was good, drinks were always filled and we got boxes and the check quickly when asked. Best of the wurst- a classic. Others ordered German meatballs, saurebrauten, and wurst sandwich. All happy with the order. App was potato pancakes. Could have used 1 minute on a paper towel before going on the plate. Otherwise, no complaints! Happy to go back :)
The absolute best German restaurant I've been to. Atmosphere is immediately captivating and enthralling with traditional German decor. Food was absolutely top notch; great potato pancakes and sausages. Very traditional tasting food, cannot reccomend the pork platter with the shank enough, probably their best dish. Overall very true to German cooking and excellent service that comes with it.

Amazing food; large portions and excellent customer service. I highly recommended this place. The live music is also an additional bonus.
All good!! service and food :) Party of 5, my brother's b'day - we all had classics: sauerbraten or Jager schnitzel. Some had good beer, others, good iced tea! (We were slightly put off by lack o…
Class act! This place is awesome. Everything from service to decor, to the band that plays there(an awesome trio) it's always a blast! My only gig and the reason why I couldn't go 5 stars is because I had a recent experience with the Sauerbraten that was not the best. I have eaten here many times for what it's worth and have been blown away with everything else so far.
We've been here several times and we usually love the food. This last visit, some of the meals were a little off. We were seated quickly in a booth (a bit away from the live music, which was perfect.) Took a bit for our waitress to get to us (which was fine), so the hostess took our beverage orders to get things started. I couldn't resist the Dunkel, served cold in a tall mug. We started with the potato pancakes, which were excellent and the currywurst, also very good. The wait for our meals was a little longer than I would have expected, but not bad. For my meal I had the schnitzel sandwich - veal, muenster, lettuce, tomato on a pretzel roll! It was excellent. Only ate half. My wife had the chicken schnitzel, which she has loved in the past. She was not thrilled this time. It was over cooked/dry. Everything else was fine and the restaurant looked really nice with the lights and decorations still up. Our server was super nice and did a great job. We'll be back.

Place is nice. Food is ok. I understand it’s a restaurant with a bar but the waitress looked at us funny when we asked what non alcoholic drinks she had. Bus boys walk around and don’t do much and I don’t know if the lady was alone tonight or what but service took forever to the point where we ditched desserts.
The place is great inside. Nice decor, old feel, comfy. The service, nice people, but slow. We waited over 1 hour for our food. We would have got up and walked out if it wasn't for the live music that kept us there. The food was ok, Definitely not worth the wait. Such a disappointment, really wanted to like this place. Sadly we won't be coming back.
This was our first time back since the renovation. The place looks beautiful. It’s cozy and festive. The staff was great. Reuben Eggrolls were good, but the sauerbraten was disappointing. The meat was beautifully tender, but the flavor was a little too bland for sauerbraten. I ordered a side of the spaetzle because they no longer make substitutions, and it was also bland and had a very odd flavor to it. My husband and I don’t eat dumplings but we had to pay extra for our choice of a side order. We were disappointed because we always loved coming for the sauerbraten but it really needs more kick. It wasn’t “sauer” enough. I hope the cook is able to do this because we really love the place.
I heard a lot of good things about this place and my expectations were set a little high, so that could add to why my experience was average. I don't eat beef or pork and this place is known for their sausages (my girlfriend did eat the sausages and said they were pretty good), so I definitely considered that in my overall score. Service: The service was pretty slow. When we got there the restaurant was almost empty and they sat us in this corner hidden from the entire restaurant. There were tons of booths and other tables open and I felt like a kid being punished in the corner. After we sat the waitress (who wasn't our actual waitress) took our drink order. It took about ten minutes to get all of our drinks. When the waitress did finally come she took our order and did answer all of our questions and was helpful. The table that came in 20 minutes after us got their bread before we did. Food: As an appetizer we ordered their cheese dip platter and their potato pancakes. The cheese dip was actually pretty good and their bread and pretzels were spot on. I thought the cauliflower was boring and they should've done more with it. They just plopped some steamed cauliflower on the plate and called it a day. The potato pancaked were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside how I like them. My girlfriend got the "Best of the Wurst" platter. She said it was pretty good and enjoyed it. They didn't have the sausage options on the menu which I thought was odd. Takes time away from the waitress to have to explain what they all are. I ordered the Chicken Stroganoff. I asked the waitress if the gravy was made with meat. She told me they sprinkled bacon on top. There's no mention of bacon in the menu and there should be. I got it without the bacon. The gravy had a good gravy texture, but we pretty bland. The chicken was also overcooked and really bland. I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper. The veggies on the side were cooked nicely though. Overall, I'm definitely not dying to go back. Other than the bread and the potato pancakes the food was really bland. I know everything is more expensive, but the food is really overpriced for the experience. Service was really slow. Didn't meet expectations.
✅great place to try. ✅very Germany atmosphere, a lot of stories and pictures make you feel a German soul. Which was the best part of the restaurant. ✅ service was just ok. Wait time for food was too long. ✅for me personally food rate is 2 out of 5. Very simple dishes and no Much flavors. ✅beer was great 10 out of 10. Definitely should have it. ✅overall it was a very cute and lovely place to be at.

Waited 2 hours for our food! Respect the fact that it was busy, but people seated way after us got their drinks, apps and main course before we got bread. Very, very loud and cramped. Had to ask for sides that we ordered, but weren't served. Been here a few times, but this time, it was a mess.
