Basil beef chow mein and combination fried rice was what I ordered. The chow mein was really good and not too oily and the beef was flavorful. Fried rice pretty good but a little too much soy sauce. Ask for easy with the soy!

Great find after a day hanging out in San Pedro. This place is like Din Tai Fung in LA but with a much broader menu. Large selection of Dumplings and Steamed Buns, Noodles, Appetizers, Bubble Teas, and other (northern?) Chinese fare and libations. And can't beat the price value.

Pork Buns! It’s all about the pork buns. And they come with this little sauce… so good. I could eat ten of them. Thai fried rice and Shanghai Noodles are pretty good too.

They serve authentic Chinese breakfast from 7:30-11am, and it’s super delicious. - soy milk served in bowls - classic porridge with pork and preserved duck egg

Braised beef noodle soup is very tasty and comes out as a huge portion! The xiao long bao came with 8 big pieces and were also really good!

Best pot stickers! I love their pot stickers and their fried rice. My daughter loves their dumplings and, again, their fried rice. I would, and have, drive out of my wat for their pot stickers!

Can't wait until we come here again! Excellent flavors, not greasy at all, great texture of the noodles. The grilled beef buns with curry were outstanding. We don't need to drive up to SGV any more!

Great menu. Clean clear modern interior. Not noisy. Range of flavors. Excellent prices, especially for family-style: dishes are generous. One noodle order is easily a full meal for one. Lots to try.

Great place with authentic SHANGHAI cooking. Fresh veggies, soups, pork and fish and stinky tofu. There are around 6 locations in Southern California. I like different locations because the quality and the standards are high. 6 different locations there is more liability for the company. Too often at one location if the owner or the manager is not present, the quality goes down hill fast...cooks smoking outside.... Little Sheep and Tasty Noodle have good service and quality food because they run it as a business.

‘Wang’ the Israelite

This spot always delivers on great Asian noodles staples like beef noodle soup, jajang mein, and Shanghai rice cake. The flavors are of a lighter nature and not heavy with too much salt or soy sauce. It's perfect for a refreshing lunch and the portions are reasonable for the price!

Always happy to welcome a new Chinese restaurant to the South Bay! Tasty Noodle House is a clean, casual place where the service is friendly and the food is served up pretty fast. There is an extensive menu and lots of dishes we like: vegetable with pork rice cake, fried fillet with seaweed, and fish with tofu. We will definitely be eating there often!

Amazing job. Great service! Thank you guys👍 I'd say this is our new spot we ordered 3 different items and every dish was equally exquisite. #21 #46 #71. Family size dining so come hungry if your eating for one.

Presently the restaurant has a B rating from the health department. I usually skip any place without an A rating. But since I was a guest I had no choice and took a chance. I’m glad I did. The food was very good. Will be coming back again. They serve way more then just tasty noodles by the way.

super cozy and cute setting with amazing food from shanghai. i recommend the ginger scallion beef with noodle and the xiao long bao. both were absolutely delicious. noodles are chewy and not starchy at all. all items had just the right amount of oil. prices are great as well.

This is a great place for some Chinese. You may think that Chinese is orange chicken and beef n broccoli but it is so much more than that. Lamb Hunan and pork dumplings are so yummy. I mean really good. So is the Thai ice tea. There is a parking lot that is kinda small but there is street parking. Weekend dinner before a movie is the way you want to experience this place.

Pretty tasty beef noodle soup ($13) and dumpling (10 for $12)! Good ambiance and service. Bathroom was a bit dirty.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once you enter and view their menu, it's a whole different story. Their food was pretty amazing and the price was affordable. They offer both shared plates along with individual plates. Go here and find out for yourself. My words can't do this place justice.

Tasty Noodle has become a regular staple in my house because they consistantly serve up truly delicious food that is always a little different from the last time thanks to their really extensive menu. And with SO many healthy choices I feel good about not poisoning myself with a quick fix from McDonalds that is packed with preservatives. They also have a long list of healthy & refreshing beverages & smoothies. Check out their menu and see what appeals to you. They are on Pacific Coast Highway just east of Crenshaw. One thing to remember: most of the main courses DO NOT automatically come with rice included so dont forget to order it separately as it really makes the meal. Happy dining!

The food is prepared when you order, so there is a wait but it is Soo worth it . The restaurant it clean and very comfortable vibe. And the food it big portions so share or enjoy those leftovers . Tip if you don't wait long for food pre order and do take out.

This is one great place to go, for a hot bowl of soup. Especially the kind you eat with chopsticks. Their noodles have a fantastic texture, and their soup dumplings are two-bites big! We were sat and served quickly, the waiter was able to make some good suggestions, and our food was served right as we finished our appetizer. I will be back, and I will be bringing people with me!

I absolutely loved the food!! my favorite was the Shanghai chow mein & Shanghai xiao long bao pork dumplings!, Im so happy to finally find a Chinese food place with the type of chow mein I like, bouncy, savory, and good quality. the inside is beautiful so I couldn’t help but take pictures ❤️ please visit this place

I come here a lot. I’ve been trying a wide variety of dishes, and for the most part they’re great. Grilled dumplings are excellent, as are the chow meins, particularly the black pepper sauce. Curry noodle soup is a favorite. I tried the orange chicken this week, which I usually don’t order, but it was the best I’ve had. Salt and pepper pork chops were very good. Family run.

We are here for Chinese New Year, and had a really great dinner. They serve really authentic Shanghai style food, which means lots of soup filled buns, and tasty noodles (hence the name). The food was fantastic, and it was served quickly. We did order a fried bun that took 20 mins, but they told us that up front and we had plenty of other food to eat. The servers were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was nice and clean. The prices were good; you could fill up on about $10/dish. It is not a huge space, so it can get crowded and loud. However, that did not diminish our dining experience one bit! Enjoy!

First time at this place, our server was super cool and friendly. He gave us lots of info about the menu and didn't mind giving us little facts about the food, like the difference between two of the dumpling doughs. The Thai Tea was very strong (and that was great). He gave us free soup dumplings and they were DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back soon to try more kinds of dumplings. Friendly, tasty, and quick -- perfect combo.

Went to Tasty Noodle House for dinner. The dry hot pot was good and spicy and the walnut shrimp was crispy and not too sweet. Enjoyed our meal here.

Had an amazing vegetarian meal here! Came on a Tues night, and had a delicious feast! The steam buns were the star of the show, but everything we had was great. Based on other reviews I expected poor service, but our waiter was very attentive and shared much about his culture and the food we were eating. We enjoyed it very much. 10/10 would come back here again!

A chain restaurant with unique offerings (Snails, pork hoc, and eels) along with lots of other more familiar dishes. We had their pork dumplings with their Shanghai Beef dumplings. Both were made fresh and were very savory and delicious! They are also priced reasonably. We also ordered from their Noodle Soup section of the menu. Warning, it means some dishes are soups and some are noodles with toppings. The Ginger Scallion Beef is from the noodle only section as is the Spicy Pork noodle. Both arrived piping hot and were very comforting on a cold day. Highly recommend visiting here for authentic Chinese food!

It's delicious. The dumplings at least. I haven't really tried anything else. The service is eh, parking is adequate. Price is on point with industry standards (7.95 for 8 dumplings) I have visited about 3 times already.

Home cooked taste. All the dishes are well made and delicious. I’ve been trying new dishes from the menu and always found it to be delicious. Xiao long bao, ma po tofu, stir fried eggplant, and fish soup are a few favorites.

There is a great Chef at this location. This might just be the best ChowMein in Lomita -Torrance-HarborCity. The Seafood ChowMein is full of flavor I can highly recommend it to you. The DimSum is also great. I'm shocked that I came in at 11:30am and found the place to be empty. You should stop by for lunch. The restaurant has good seating and they have freeparking. They serve beer and Thai Tea. What a hidden Gem 💎 of a food experience. Will def return.

Fantastic flavor, big portions, diligent service! This restaurant has passionate cooks. Even with power and A/C outting today, it was a lovely experience like a sauna with food. Would go again! Highly recommend the lamb dry bowl, pictured in the steel bowl.

We ordered way too much food in our zeal to try everything that sounded good. And everything we tried tasted good, too. The Shanghai rice cakes were perfectly cooked and the curry chicken noodle soup was served with the soup separated so the noodles wouldn't absorb it all before you could eat it. The spicy beef noodles could have used more heat and that can be said about everything we ordered that was supposed to be spicy, but we tend to like it 🔥. Parking was easy in their lot. Would definitely go back and looking forward to it.

Always togo here, but the 1st time dining in. You get way more portion by dining in and the service was great! It's not a big place, but they don't rush you like some places. The food was great as usual. Definitely coming back for dine in! My picky eater boys love their mixed fried rice and pork/shrimp chow mein. I love that they have the green onion pancakes. Most places don't have them anymore, so i'm glad i found a place that has good ones nearby. Orange chicken is my favorite! I never tasted orangy orange chicken before. Love that they make it non spicy too!

Service was nice and fast. Lamb meat were prepared tender and fresh. 熏鱼flavor taste just like in Shanghai and the portion of one noodle was enough for two adults. I would prefer much jucier style 生煎包.

Very good Shanghai cuisine different to Cantonese, Vietnamese and Thai. Good flavors and a varied menu with great options for sharing all dishes. Dine in portions are good. Update 5/28: Chino Hills location - staff are not as friendly and I found the food to be good but, portions were a little smaller. Irvine location - friendly staff - portions and taste of food on point. Make it a point to order different menu items when visiting. The menu selection although the same at all locations is vast and varied to what is out here in other such Asian restaurants.

Finally a Chinese place to end all search of searches of the best Chinese food in the Southbay. Every dish is a feast for the eyes and pallet. Not to mention easy on the wallet. This place serves authentic Shanghai cuisine. The menu is extensive but you'll be glad because everything is as mouth watering as it sounds. I've been here 4 times and have to stop myself from repeating a dish only because I want to try everything. Btw, the noodles are amazing and made fresh in house. Also, the place has gained a lot of popularity. I suggest coming early or during off peak or tail end of lunch hours. But even if you have to wait it is totally worth it! Also, the wait staff is super busy so don't be offended if no one notices you as soon as you walk in. They are very nice and the food comes out quick. See my pics for recommendations.

Love this place! Food is great. I always order same thing around the same time. What I dislike is One day they'll get me a big plate of soup and small chicken plate or vise versa when the order # is the same. Another thing is the manager or guy in charge always has a foochi face and attitude when attended by him but Regardless I continue to go due to food and always cross my fingers I dont get the guy in charge to be our server lol

Sweet and sour pork was good, but so many bones! And dangerous little ones. My fiancee, who's from Shanghai, said that the egg rolls tasted like Shanghai, but I didn't like them at all. She liked her noodles and chicken.

A hidden gem. If you blink you might miss it. Real leaf tea not a tea bag and free! The beef noodle is excellent not over spicy. The fish dumplings pan fried are a different change, delicate and chewy. The eggplant, mushroom and basil was phenomenal. Very tasty beef fried rice. Worth checking out.

About 2/3 tables had people sitting at them. It was 600pm on a Friday. We ordered 7 dishes and had food at our table in 10 minutes. They turn food out here so fast and tasty. Although, I prefer the Cerritos location. When I can't get out there, I come here.

A
Ally Sanderz

They had a B for a while (idk if they still do) But despite that their food is good, though they can be very busy during lunch hour. ALSO they give you free dumplings on the weekdays :) ***Update: first review was pre-pandemic, now mid pandemic my opinion has changed. If you come when it's a slow day it's likely they won't be making half the menu anymore, specifically the dumplings. All that was left was some chive fish dumplings or something, and they were ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING 😭 And I do not say that lightly. They also took about 30 minutes to come out, so it wasn't even worth our time or taste buds. -1 ☆.

Had a quiet Friday evening with the wifey and decided to come back to this place after having dinner here a few days ago. Since it was only me and my wife we only had these 2 dishes which was good but not extraordinary. We would definitely come back to this place but with more people. Pro: Fast and quick service and lots of tasty dishes. Con: Going with myself and wifey, so limited on how many dishes we could order.

There is not a lot of good Chinese food in the South Bay, so when a chain of noodle houses decided to put on in Torrance I was excited. I've had their food before from other locations and it holds up the standard I am used to eating. I have heard from multiple people that the service is terrible here, but I have only taken food out from here so I don't know.

Good choice for Chinese food in South Bay! The taste is good; the environment is clean; the staff is friendly. There is a small parking lot available.

I love the food at Tasty Noodle House. I've probably had half the items on the menu and nothing is bad. Of course the dumplings and noodle dishes are the stand outs but the fried rice, vegetable and meat dishes are also excellent. My only real gripe with this establishment is the service. None of the staff have ever been particularly friendly or inviting. I always feel like I'm an inconvenience to them. At this point, I would think they would recognize me as a repeat customer but it doesn't seem to matter. In any case, come for the food if you come.

Decent place. We loved their fried rice and thought their beef noodle soup was good. Their grilled pork buns were what we went there for mostly but i was a little disappointed. The dough was a little gummy and not satisfying even though overall it was fairly tasty. Would have preferred a thinner skin and more chew. The onion pancakes were good also. Everything was good just not amazing. But for the location it was decent and would probably be back sometime.

First time ordering to go. Good selections of full menu and dimsum choices. We ordered the Shanghai grilled pork buns (which took about 25 minutes), Shanghai Pan-fried rice cake, spicy cucumber salad, and pumpkin pancake. The grilled pork buns (生煎包) came 8 pieces, good amount of fillings, but lacked juiciness inside the buns, which is what they are famous for. The pan-fried rice cake (炒年糕)was soft and flavorful, highly recommend. Also liked the cucumber salad, which was not too spicy, made of a red pepper sauce. The pumpkin pancake was sweet and worked well as a desert. Overall a good experience, will definitely come back to try others on the menu next time.

This place was surprisingly good... I enjoyed their Black pepper beef noodles alot as well as their fried bottom dumplings... great selection, many varieties to try, not such a fan of the seating though, seemed a bit intrusive sitting so close to strangers and the staff was partially attentive. The weekday special was a good value(buy three get fourth free kinda deal)... overall, good place to eat!

The weekday special was a good value(buy three get fourth free kinda deal)... overall, good place to eat!

We had a couple of dishes and they were pretty good but nothing really stood out. The noodles towards the bottom of the bowl felt like they were sitting there for some time. Not a bad place by any stretch but not great.

I just felt I had to chime in here... Food is generally good, but the sweet and sour pork is completely inedible. Nothing but bones and gristle. Very disappointing. Orange chicken is not bad, hot and sour soup is quite good. But avoid the pork!!

I like satay beef I ordered a lot, lots of good flavor and generous portion. The Shanghai noodles on the other hand wasn't bad but it felt very uninspired. It actually came more than ten minutes ahead of the satay beef so I can't tell if it was sitting there already?

Visit it during covid, take only. I was not impressed by its food, and the taste was bland, and the portions were awfully small. This time (March 2023), dine in was much better. The food was a lot better. Services=2*, slow and not very attentive to customers. The waiting staff were playing their cell phones. Go figure that at busy and working hours. Owners or franchises pay attention to this review. Atmosphere=2*, run down.

Wife was craving Hong Kong style cafes. Guess we should try probably the only offering in the southbay, sad. To make it short. It's not bad, we taste the wok hei. Will return. Support this place, bring more customers, maybe then they will revive the HK style milk tea. Menu and prices as of Nov 2024.

Generous servings but nothing special with the taste. Typical Chinese fast food joint. Servers overwhelmed with the influx of customers during lunch hours. Rated B by health inspectors. I don't recommend.

Although some reviewers might disagree, I think the food is excellent. I've been to the restaurant 3 times, and all three times the food has been superb. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about the service. The first problem tonight was that the employees were smoking outside by the back door and all the cigarette smoke/smell filled the restaurant. The second issue was that I got through my whole meal and never got offered to have my water glass refilled even though the cups of all at my table were empty. Third thing was that for some reason we were given plastic forks and spoons...??? Fourth, it might seem insignificant, but the napkins which were initially on our table were nice dinner napkins, but the ones the server brought us after we asked for more were cheap taco truck/roach coach napkins. Finally, I had just finished taking my last bite and the server practically slammed the bill tray on the table. Didn't ask if we're finished with our meal. Didn't ask if there was anything else we needed. Just put the bill down. At this point all of our cups were still empty. Never got refilled once throughout our meal. It wasn't until after we got our check that I asked for a refill and got one. I'd like to believe that the horrible service is due to inexperienced servers. I really hope it's not a more nefarious reason. To the credit of Tasty Noodle House, the food is so good that I might put myself through the abuse again, but if the service sucks next time I might have to ask all those at my table to chronicle their negative experience on this here website. Just sayin'... Thanks for reading and hope you have happy eating.

Green onion pancake was burnt so badly that charred pieces was all you could see. Chow mein needed more sauce, texture was ok.

My boyfriend got the pork chop and rice cakes, along with green onion pancake and a beef noodle soup for me. I didnt really like the porkchop and rice cake dish because it just tasted salty. Strong soy sauce flavor, but it wasnt a balanced flavor. The beef noodle soup was great, but i think Northern Cafe has a better beef noodle soup. The green onion pancakes were good but not revolutionary. It was crispy, but its just very doughy and light onion flavor.

Went here for take out and even asked the staff what the specialties are. Worst chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Got take out of xiao long bao, chicken and shrimp chow mein and smoked pork and vegetables. Stay away from the smoked pork dish.. seriously, run away. It's 90% leeks and the pork that you get is so salty it's not even edible. The xiao long bao wrapper is too thick and chewy. The chow mein was the only thing that's okay.. not great, just okay. I'm never coming back here again.

If you want insanely oily and salty Asian food, this is your spot! We ordered the noodle soup with fish and veggies and there was 10% fish and veggies and 90% noodles. I feel like my arterioles are all clogged up from all that grease.

I didn't get to try, cigarette smoke coming from the kitchen, & not just a little, more like as if we were at a casino. On the way out I seen cooks smoking directly outside the back kitchen doors with them open. Huge disappoint!

This place used to be good when it first opened. Foods are very salty now!! The Xiaolongbao were so bad!!! The outside was so thick and there were no soup coming from the inside of the Xiaolongbao!!! I was very disappointed with the dessert sesame Tangyuang!! It taste like water!!!! I will never go back again!!!

Man the food here is bad! Worst noodles I have ever tasted in my life. I actually felt sick from all the salt they poured in. Will never eat here again.everything tastes the same. Like soy sauce and salt

This food was disgusting. First, I called to order & they entered the wrong dish so then I had to reorder what I actually was supposed to get. They made me pay for both entrees. Then the correct dish was GROSS. I will never come back here.

Mediocre food, even worse service. Save yourself the time and money. Much better options in the area. Hard pass

I'm a foodie i love food, however this place's food is meh at best. Today I tried their Dried pot shrimp prown and even though the dish looks tasty, it's the single worst dish I've ever had in my life. It made my taste buds go crazy to the point not even water tasted good after I had just one bite. To make things worse, communicated the server I was unhappy with the dish (so I ordered something else) and they still charged me $18.00dlls for it. Normally restaurants will offer a discount or something else if you are in happy with their food, but not this one. This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. If I could give less than one Star rating, i would.

Extremely subpar in all fields. Service is bad. Beginning to end. There's no other way to describe it. They struggle to do the most basic of waiter service. They also look overworked. Taste of food is very very mediocre. The shanghi xiao long bao have no soup, because its all leaked out the torn skin. Served lukewarm/cool. Not hot thats for sure. Price is a bit overpriced. Especially for the quality of food they produce. And the lack of minimal service. Not worth it. No redeeming quality.

Ordered the beef brisket lo mein and was disappointed by it. I barely got any meat, I wouldn't even feed my dog with the only pieces I got. This is the first time that post a review but I couldn't get above that one....

Updated 12/2023: I’m updating this review and revised to 1-star as we have had mediocre experiences over the last few times , and just experienced a total process breakdown last night. Food: has been trending down, so we have been going to this place less, we decided to give it a try again on Christmas as not many places are open. I was sincerely hoping to get a nice bowl of noodles on a cold evening. We got there at 5:40, the place was full, but we got seated fairly quickly. After ordering, we waited and waited until past 7pm. We asked for status of our orders for no less than 7 or 8 times with the 3 servers outside. They checked and said it’s coming but nothing came, not even the cold appetizer. In the meantime, about 15-20 to go and delivery orders got picked up and, we started seeing people came after us getting served the dishes we ordered! I am normally pretty patient but started getting very furious. I asked for the manager multiple times (who was hiding in the back kitchen all these times), he found our order still hanging in the queue in the front and said they will work on the order now. There was no apologies. This was totally unacceptable! We were very mad and left, I hope this would never happen to other people. This is how I’d expect them to improve: - hire someone competent in the front who is caring about the customers - be more careful about processing failures, be alert with red flags like upset customers, multiple inquiries, long waits, complaints about later customers getting served first, etc - be apologetic if you recognize a mistake - if there is a long wait, at least give some small appetizers or something simple after 1 hour wait —— from 2019 Pretty descent authentic Chinese food from Shanghai. We loved the Shanghai rice cake and FREE XLB !! They just showed us the new Chinese breakfast menu (see picture), got to come back and try!

Terrible and rude service. The chubby tall guy handing the take out couldn’t handle the work. Missing item. Found out dumplings undercooked after eating a few. Not good!

Ordered braised noodles with onion sauce that were supposed to look like the image with noodles, lots of sauce, onions and green onions. Instead I got plain noodles with maybe a table spoon of sauce… so basically plain noodles for $9.

Had a really bad experience, my noodle soup, didn't had the soup, it was dropped all in the bag. My dumplings all have holes on it so all the liquid was out.

There is definitely a quality and cleanliness issue here. As we walked in, the floors had a stickiness quality to it. (And so did the chairs and table!) We ordered two bowls of noodles and one appetizer. Not only was the appetizer served last, there was a piece of hair. We obviously asked for a new plate, but in less than a minute they served the EXACT same plate. Please consider carefully before going to this restaurant!!!

Really wanted to like this place, considering reviews of other locations. Ordered the pan fried dumplings and was told they would take 20 minutes. No problem since we ordered 3 other dishes. As you can see from my pictures, one of the dumplings was completely torn apart on the bottom. At least 2 others had smaller holes in them as well, rendering them juiceless. These are supposed to be juicy in the middle and crispy on the bottom. None of them had that browned crispy bottom. Where is the quality control? How can a chef take pride in sending this garbage out? Will maybe give them one more chance to try the XLBs.
