If you are looking for an elegant restaurant for a special celebration, this venue is a strong contender. The ambiance is refined, creating a sophisticated atmosphere of Middle East. The service is attentive and professional, ensuring a seamless and memorable occasion. It is indeed a remarkable choice for those desiring a touch of luxury and distinction.
Had a great evening at Beluga Restaurant & Bar! Everything was outstanding from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious: perfectly grilled kebabs (the lamb chops and chenjeh were melt-in-the-mouth tender), fragrant rice, flavour-packed stews, and the most beautiful selection of fresh mezze. The saffron ice cream with pistachio to finish was pure heaven. Every dish felt authentic, generous, and made with real love and skill. Service was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming, thank you for such a great night!
Booked out table few days earlier , lovely restaurant decoration . Staff were working hard to make our dinner perfect Ordered starters to share then mains. Food was freshly made & came exactly how we wanted it !! The restaurant was super busy so book table ! Restaurant is Halal and food hygiene rate is 5
Many thanks to my friend who recommended this place for dinner in the windy cold London evening. High class interiors reminds you of the great palaces of Persia Food is authentic, delicious and makes you feel at home. Friendly staff and customers 👏🏻👏🏻 which is a difficult combination for find. When you want to enjoy your evening after a stroll at Holland park this is where you should go to
A perfect place to experience Persian food. The place is so beautiful and the attention to details is amazing. And the food is the icing on the cake, everything is coming together perfectly to enjoy a spectacular meal.
One of the finest Persian restaurants in London! The food is absolutely delicious—authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and full of richness. The service is top-notch, with staff who are attentive, warm, and make you feel truly welcome. A must-visit for anyone who loves Persian cuisine
I came here yesterday for my birthday, the food and the staff were amazing and made the day feel extremely special. I would say this is the best Persian food in London and the service here is incredible, they made me and my family feel so welcome. The place is so beautifully decorated and really reminded us of Iran. I Would recommend this place to everyone!
The best Persian restaurant in London. Incredibly tasty food with very authentic decorations and absolutely the best service. The appetizers are must try and everything you order from the menu is truly fresh and delicious. I love the rice they serve with their grilled dishes topped with crispy layer of saffron rice and potato slices covered with their berries. Highly recommend it
If you know me, you would know that everytime I visit #London my first meaL with REA is usually Iranian food... so here we have @beluga_nottinghill You will feel like you stepped into a persian family home from the 80s... I did enjoy my order of chicken barrag and koobideh... as for REA, she didnt enjoy her wagyu koobideh one bit actually none of us liked it... so i don't recommend you order it... AT ALLLL n personally it should be removed lol. But that's just my opinion. #persianfood #londondining #londoneats @beluga_nottinghill
Amazing Persian food and great value. There were four of us and the mixed grill for 3 people was massive - we shared that and there was about 20% left to take home. Service from the very smart looking gentleman was nothing short of great - he was super polite and made us feel like we were in his home. The food was the star of the show - the minced lamb and chicken with the fresh herbs and rice is truly amazing... We got there early and we're the only ones there but within an hour, the place was packed with predominantly Persian people so you know this is proper authentic... I am planning my next visit to basically have the exact same things...
Exceptional service as always. We host everything here, from business meetings to family gatherings, because the food and service are consistently outstanding. Thank you for always looking after us so well!
The Best Persian Restaurant in London. Every time I am thriving for my mom's cooking, I come her never to disappoint. Portion was generous, the presentation was excellent, and the flavours were perfect. Love the seating arrangements and decorations. Great for friends and family gatherings, and it's still good if you are solo. Highly recommended.
The meats were tender and grilled to perfection. The gravy was also a fantastic pairing and the portion sizes were huge! The flavours are classic, but very very well done. The decor is also beautiful inside. They get very busy in the evenings, and for good reason too, so be sure to book a reservation in advance.
Dessert was awfully burnt but everything else was great. Excellent service, good food, lovely staff, amazing place 😀
One of the best and most upscale Persian restaurants in London, offering an exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere is comfortable and elegant, adding a touch of luxury to the experience. The restaurant stands out for its excellent service, with staff who are friendly and professional, ensuring a hospitality experience like no other.
Amazing dinner! Excellent Persian food absolutely made and decorated with Love. I loved the classic wood decoration and the ambiance. It is not a very big restaurant so I would advise calling or booking in advance. The staff were super polite and accommodating. I preferred the meat kabab. My chicken kabab was a bit overdone and dry, but it was ok I loved the beef skewer. The rice was decorated with perfection. The coffee was great, I had a Nescafé. Absolutely recommended.
Tonight I had dinner here, it was more than amazing, The staff were so friendly and welcoming, inside of the restaurant is so nice and reminds me of the Iranian palaces. And its food is amazing. Two people can have one portion as it is a lot. I couldn't take pictures from inside as it was so busy so you can see how much it is popular. Highly recommend it.
Nicely decorated upscale restaurant compared to other Persian restaurants in London. The menu is focused on the usual classics (although with few non Persian items like Hummus). The Kobideh was tender and juicy. The rice was well cooked and nicely presented. The Zeytoon Parvarde was amazing. The Tahdeeg was thick and not as crispy as it should be. The Salad Shirazi was different (with avocado) but that would not have an impact on the rating. Friendly and attentive service.
Really enjoyed the food here. Definitely will be going back the sweet chilli sauce and the white sauce compliments the kebabs perfectly. The meat was very tasty and flavoursome also I love the crispy outer layer on their rice. The food tasted authentic. I really enjoyed the dal soup, it was perfect for this cold weather. The portion sizes are very good. The staff were very attentive and service was exceptional so I definitely recommend this place.
This restaurant is a great spot! The location is convenient, and the decor is beautifully designed. The view overlooking the street is absolutely charming. The service is excellent, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant experience. The place is clean and well-organized, creating a comfortable atmosphere. As for the food, it’s incredibly delicious, especially their okra stew, which is a must-try. Prices are on the higher side of moderate, but the quality justifies it. It’s a suitable place for both families and individuals. Highly recommended!
This restaurant has a really warm atmosphere The staff are really polite and the food is absolutely delicious. Thank you to Sara for making our evening extra special with your amazing customer service.
I was very impressed by the service and welcome. Particularly Sina was really helpful in making recommendations that i really enjoyed the taste of. Excellent koobide and baby chicken. As a true foody and someone who has tried a lot of persian cuisines in London, i can confidently say this place is one the best. Thank you Beluga. Will see you again soon.
Restaurant is lovely, food was fantastic, service was excellent, staff were well trained and friendly they made us feel very special and they made our birthday dinner memorable. We would recommend to book this place 100% for your any occasion as the manager and his team all are very attentive and amazing we had great night thank you so much for their exceptional hospitality.
Beluga Restaurant is a fantastic Persian restaurant in London, offering both incredible food and an elegant setting. The Crispy rice with stew, Barg makhsos, and Tahchin were all perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The hospitality was excellent, with friendly and attentive service that made the experience even better. A must-visit for top-quality Persian cuisine!
Delicious. Visited Saturday lunchtime . Beautiful restaurant, highly decorative setting. Service friendly and professional. Menu, excellent selection of Persian food, good descriptions. I had lamb chops and my daughter had a mixed lamb and chicken 'kebab' both served with rice and salad and a choice of dressings . Very generous portion, delightfully displayed. No room for deserts. As lunchtime we just had mineral water to drink. A place to visit again .
That was a good 👍🏻 restaurant thanx alotfor all man work thier javad was agreat one 🌷
One of the best Persian food I have ever tasted. We have ordered 1 mix grill for 2 people, which I believe can serve 3 persons with chips and rice. 1 yogurt with cucumber salad.
True luxury Persian cuisine dining experience in elegant and classy environment. Delicious and well balanced flavours and incredibly well presented dishes. Wonderful selection of traditional dishes. Friendly staff and efficient service.
If you want an authentic Persian dining experience close to Notting Hill look no further. Everything from the chandeliers to the tiles on the floor transports you to a typical Iranian setting. The portion sizes were generous, typical of Persian hospitality. The food was delicious, well seasoned and tasty authentic . Service was polite and prompt. My recommendations to order are: Starters: Bread, Mast-e-mousir, Mirza Ghazemi, Kash-e-Bademjan l Main: Mixed Grill, Rice and Salad, Fesenjoon (interesting pomegranate and walnut stew) Dessert: Tea (trust me there won’t be room for more)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place absolutely deserves one! We came here to celebrate a birthday with a group of 10 adults and 3 kids, and from start to finish, everything was amazing. The food was outstanding — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You could really taste the quality and care that goes into the cooking. Everyone in our group, including the kids, loved what they ordered. The portions were generous and the menu had something for everyone, which made it easy for a big group like ours. The atmosphere was just perfect — warm, welcoming, and lively without being too noisy. It’s a great spot for both family gatherings and celebrations. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made the experience even better. And we have to mention the tea — it was absolutely delicious and really topped off the meal. It felt like the perfect finishing touch after such a wonderful dining experience. Overall, we had such a great time and left with full hearts and happy stomachs. If you’re looking for a place with great food, a lovely atmosphere, and amazing service, I highly recommend coming here. We’ll definitely be back again soon!
This was my first visit to Beluga, based on a recommendation from a close friend whose refined taste in London’s standout restaurants I truly trust. And indeed, Beluga lived up to every expectation — the ambiance is elegant, the food is exceptional, and the overall atmosphere is simply refined. But what truly inspired me to write this review was a remarkable and noble gesture from the owner himself. I had accidentally left my mobile phone at the restaurant, and just as I was about to enter the Underground gate, I was surprised to see him running after me barefoot, holding my phone to return it. A rare act of honesty, humility, and genuine care — something you don’t experience often these days. Thank you, Beluga, for the unforgettable dining experience and for the humanity behind the service. Highly recommended. 🙏🏽
First time trying this Persian restaurant and honestly the food was absolutely beautiful. The place has a really nice vibe and the staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. Even though we ordered late and stayed after finishing, they were patient with us the whole time. Definitely worth a visit
Visited Beluga, a Persian restaurant, and the food was really good. The meat was well cooked and full of flavor, and we had to end our meal with their amazing falooda, which was the perfect finish. It’s best to make a booking, as it tends to get busy at times.
Beluga Persian Restaurant is hands down the best Persian restaurant in London. The quality of the food is exceptional, especially the meat, perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of authentic flavour. You can really taste the care and tradition in every dish. What truly made the experience unforgettable was our waiter, Reza. He was absolutely amazing, so kind, cheerful, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire evening. His recommendations were spot on, and he made us feel so welcome and looked after from start to finish. If you’re looking for outstanding Persian food, top-quality meat, and impeccable service, Beluga is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again!
IMO Persian / Iranian food is one of the world’s great cuisines and Beluga is a solid restaurant to enjoy it in. We were a table of 3 and made the right choice when we chose the mixed starters platter, which gives the option of choosing any 5 hot or cold starters on one platter. We chose 2 aubergine based spreads, a spinach & labneh spread, the Shiraz salad and the king prawns. Everything was good and I particularly enjoyed the fried King prawns. The highlight of our table’s meal was the mixed grill platter for 3 people. It is visually impressive (see photo) & included an abundant assortment of different lamb and chicken kebabs / meats. All meats were succulent & cooked perfectly. This platter also comes with 3 plates of delicious Tahdig (crispy) rice, which is the perfect accompaniment for the meat. We ended the meal with a traditional baklava stuffed with ice cream which was a delightful finale to the meal, although maybe a little too sweet for those who don’t have a sweet tooth.
Really good Persian food. The rice here was the best out of all the many Persian restaurants E have tried in London. Super fluffy, with crispy but not overly hard tahdig. Kebabs were excellent too. The meats were all tender and juicy. The marinade and sauces are a little untraditional and had flavours not usually found in Persian dishes. I really enjoyed them. It was very busy when we visited and service was a little hit and miss. We never got the tap water we asked for and had to ask for cutlery after the food arrived. Also, one of the servers could not speak English well and kept replying in Persian which not everyone at the table understood. However, the excellent food and lovely decor more than made up for it. A great experience overall.
We ordered a selection of mezze and all were great. Good spicing and decent portions. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was well lit and with a polished decor
Nice place with a great atmosphere, service is v good too. It's a little cramped but still comfortable enough. Food was mostly good but the hummus starter isnt good enough, it tastes store bought and not freshly made - too grainy. Other than that the food is fantastic. Though, prices are very high.
The food was really good, honestly probably the best grilled I’ve had in the UK so far. The only downside was the service. The ladies working there seemed a bit moody and didn’t smile or seem welcoming, and it took quite a while for them to bring my receipt. Great food, but the customer service could be better.
The food is decent and the portions are generous. Their pomegranate red wine was also delicious. However, it’s quite strange that the prices don’t include VAT!!! many people may not notice the small print at the bottom of the menu that states “ they will add 20% VAT to the price of the food”. Prices definitely on a higher side. Service is average, and the staff aren’t very attentive. They also asked us, as well as other customers, to pay in cash so they could deduct some of the VAT, which felt unprofessional and inappropriate.
Food: We ordered the mixed grill for 2, this came with lamb, chicken and rice. The meats were very tasty and the portion of rice given was generous. I have no complaints here. Atmosphere: it is a cozy restaurant and the decorations are beautiful. It was clean and tidy, and wasn’t too loud. Service: the waiters were friendly and food came relatively quickly. HOWEVER, and this is where they lose some stars, prices on the menu do not include VAT. I know it states this at the very bottom of the menu, but it is still scummy and not needed, i can only assume the restaurant is hoping customers don’t realise how expensive the food is they’re buying until it’s too late. This is the first time I have ever been to a restaurant that does this. Secondly, we were not offered this, but the table next to us was offered a 10% discount if they paid with cash. Why were we not offered this? This also screams tax evasion as why would this even be a thing? Overall: good food, good atmosphere, just bring cash and a calculator with you so you can work out the true menu prices, and get your discount
We didn't have a reservation but the staff were super friendly and they went out of their way to accommodate us which was great and were very attentive throughout. The starters were really good but the mains disappointed me a little bit. I was not a fan of the crunchy rice, I thought it was just a bit too hard making it inedible. I also thought the lamb chops were a bit bland and the meat was very fatty. The kebab and chicken were both really good, but could've done with some sauces because the rice was a little dry! Overall I thought considering how much it cost, I would've hoped for just a bit more, I left feeling a little disappointed. The food was all Halal, which was great, though!
The restaurant is overrated and overpriced. The service is good. The food tastes average.
Beluga Restaurant is good overall, especially if you’re looking for Iranian food in London. The food tastes good, but it’s not the best—it could definitely be better. The main downside is the interior arrangement, especially the bathrooms, which are very run-down and not clean. Because of this, I wouldn’t say it’s excellent. It’s a decent option for Iranian food, but there’s some part for improvement.
I only went because I saw it on an influencer's story but that was my mistake! Service was great and aesthetics look good on Instagram, but food is kind of mid. Not bad but not the greatest I've ever had. This restaurant is just for the influencers who want to eat somewhere aesthetic but don't really care much for the food.
They ripped me off first bringing a bill of £167 for 3 skewers of kebabs and two portions of rice When complained to management they reduced the bill by £77 saying they had made a mistake! A rip off restaurant I will NOT return to.
My lamb meat was cold. We visited Beluga in Notting Hill and was really let down by both the food and the service. The lamb I ordered arrived cold, which made me suspect the meat had been pre-cooked and reheated. I mentioned this to the waiter, who took the dish away but brought it back around 30 seconds later with nothing changed. No explanation and no effort to fix the issue. When it came time to pay, the lady at the counter kept insisting we should pay in cash and said we would get a 7 percent discount if we did. It seemed obvious this was an attempt to avoid card charges, avoid paying VAT or something more questionable. That kind of behaviour leaves a bad impression. Overall, a disappointing meal and not a place I would recommend. There are much better options in the area.
Having fancied some Persian dessert, I decided to order the Classic saffron ice cream from this restaurant at the staggering price of £9 which is almost double what is charged anywhere in London, on the Bass assumption that it must be made fresh at the restaurant compared to its price. I’m hugely disappointed to receive a pack of a store bought ice cream by the restaurant with the label of the bakery attached behind. Why charge so hefty for a prepackaged item that you have not prepared at the restaurant fresh order? I ordered from the restaurant to get the best quality I could’ve ordered the very same from a nearby Persian store.
The food was not great. For the prices they charge, you’d expect much better quality. There are far better Persian options in Notting Hill — Hafez on Hereford Road is miles ahead in both food and service. Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend.
Went for a large group dinner of 12 people, sent over the groups order to the management team over 1 week in advance of our reservation, yet despite this, when we were served our meals, 2 out of the 12 guests were vegetarian and were assured their meal was vegetarian when served. When we began eating the meal, the 2 vegetarian guests realised that their meal had chicken and lamb in it and was in fact NOT vegetarian. When the waiter was informed, they said it was our fault for not clarifying, even though we had, twice! Further, there was no apology for this and no sympathy or gestures of goodwill. Truly disappointed at the service. The two vegetarians were not given an alternative option and were still charged, IN FULL for their meals, despite it being a restaurant error. Would not recommend this restaurant based of their service and lack of compassion! They took no responsibility and never asked anyone in the group if they had any allergies either The two guests who did not eat any food, were still charged £80 each for their meal
