Bread Street Kitchen, Bar & Rooftop – Stratford

Restaurant looks amazing, the staff offer incredible customer service, and the food is a level of quality I'm sure Gordon would be proud of. The big portion of pork ribs is huge, and ver meaty, but the unexpected dishes that won everybody over were the meatball starters, and the Mac and cheese side dish. Special thanks to the staff that served us. Cristina and Teo (? I might have his name wrong there, but I'm referring to the Albanian fellow.) were excellent, as was the manager there, and the lady at reception. If the restaurant offers any bonuses or commendations, I think they should be the ones to receive them. And as a disclaimer, they did NOT ask me to write a review or to mention them. I just thought they did an excellent job. So, if you wanna dine fancy but not break the bank too much, this place has you covered.

2nd attempt was finally worthy! Our first try was back in summer, but we were rudely rejected at the door. This time, however, we were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. A very good spot to check out in the Stratford area!

Great service, friendly staff , nice atmosphere and good classic British food. Slightly pricey but it’s a well kept and fancy looking restaurant with an upmarket feel . Bonus that kids eat free. The kids Mac and cheese was very tasty . We also had the chicken & leek pie and the set menu chicken wings, Steak and fudge cake . All very good !

The quality of the food was more than I had expected as I was comparing to Gordon Ramsey in the Savoy. The quantity of food was certainly more than the Savoy. A good sized starter and main. We ordered sides of Fries mashed potato and salad which filled us up. A nice hot Brownie with ice cream finished the meal. The service and staff were excellent. A very nice lunch which wasn't expensive. I can recommend and would use again.

What a stunning venue! I visited there with my work colleagues for our Christmas celebrations. The food was delightful, particularly the starters. The staff was very welcoming, providing a pleasant beginning to the concert we were attending afterward. My colleagues all enjoyed the food, and we have discussed the possibility of returning for our team-building event.

Beautiful Place with even more beautiful and delicious food. Had the Vegan Burger and Gordon’s very own Fish & Chips and they were absolutely delightful. Location was really amazing with the view of London Stadium

This is such a lovely restaurant — great food, great service. The taste? Absolutely delicious!!! I had the Sea Bass for my main, then ordered a Bailey’s coffee and apple crumble for seconds. They brought both together, but I’d actually wanted to enjoy the crumble first, then sip the coffee after. The service team were so lovely — they offered me a fresh coffee on the house to have after my meal. In the end, I was so full and satisfied, I didn’t even take it. Really nice spot, and there’s a space downstairs you can hire for functions too. I’ll definitely be going back.

Warm & welcoming with a relaxed chilled vibe. Did not feel rushed, service was amazing and very attentive to allergens. Would recommend to anyone in this area! Cod bites are the best i’ve ever had!

Reserved a table for 2 for lunch here on Saturday. Arrived early but were quickly seated. Staff were all very friendly and approachable. Ordered a starter to share and mains each. Everything arrived quickly, despite being busy, and all was absolutely delicious. Large portions, great value for money. Would definitely come again. The only downside for me as a non drinker was that there weren't many non alcoholic alternatives, there were a few mocktails and then your standard soft drinks. Not a complaint, as was happy to have a glass of coke, but it's nice to sometimes have an AF wine or prosecco option.

Thoroughly enjoyable dinner before going on to ABBA. Sustainable architecture, funky art, friendly and helpful service and great food at a good price.

This was our first experience at this kind of restaurant. The atmosphere was very friendly and pleasant. Our waiter, Luisa, was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. We also got to see part of the kitchen — it really felt like something out of a Gordon Ramsay TV show: “Yes, chef!” We tried the seasonal set menu, and it was absolutely delicious. I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and can safely say you will not experience a better service in London. The staff are helpful engaging and knowledgable, the food is superb as you would expect.

What a lovely restaurant. Food was really nice and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes. Staff were fantastic and made our vist there so special. Special mention to Anteo smashing waiter and very attentive to our table. Thanks to all staff and will be visiting again definitely.

Went here for lunch and had the lunch set menu, which at £20 I thought was fairly reasonable for the area. The food was excellent, especially the steak! Service was also very good, water to the table, no rushing, music not to loud etc.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. We didn’t book in advance but they still found us a seat, which was nice. Our waitress, Alice, greeted us at the door and was really friendly the whole time. She served us well and made sure we had everything we needed. The overall experience was really good, and I’d definitely come back again.

The manager and staff were so kind and really put a lot of effort into making our dining experience one of the best we’ve ever had. Everyone from the chefs to the waitstaff are incredibly professional and personable, delivering quality I’d expect from a restaurant costing 4-5x as much. I can’t recommend the Bread Street Kitchen highly enough.

GR The Bread Kitchen. I booked a table for 3 and didn't need to leave a deposit. We arrived 30mins early and was happily accommodated. I had a dietary requirement about the Fish & Chips meal - i wanted it halal (no beer in the batter) and fried separately. I was pleasantly surprised that they delivered for me. It was huge and delicious, I couldn't do justice to it. Also I think the chips were double fried, delicious too and the mushy peas were not bland, very tasty! We didn't have starters nor dessert, too full up really. Really enjoyed the experience , very happy. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

Had the most amazing birthday meal at this restaurant. The food was outstanding as was the service and our lovely waitress Alice made in an unforgettable experience. She was very attentive, quickly dealing with a little problem over drinks and then bringing me a special little treat to celebrate my birthday. Thanks to all the staff for making it a fabulous experience. I think the only thing that would have topped it is if Gordon had been there in person.

We had a table booked as it was a birthday. The staff were fantastic and helpful as someone in our party can't have salt so was recommended fish and chips and the chef didn't add the salt . I ordered the burger and did ask the server to ask my burger well done .. unfortunately it was pink with the first bite so I had to ask for a new one .. now this is where I had to wait for about 20mins but when I did get the new one it was delicious, I would return but I will stick to the fish and chips as looks yummy plus 2 people in my party loved it .

It was a birthday celebration. My father big day (with lots of candles). We love fish and chips. There’s not many restaurant and shops that serve it just right, perfect. We booked at Gordon Ramsey Stratford and looking back, glad that we did, for a birthday meal with my father. He loved the experience. The food was served perfect. The lady, Alice, who served snd looked after us made it special. She was amazing in her manners and courtesy. Polite, checking in on our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I would rank your restaurant tops. The staff made it top+. Excellence in welcome, perfect hosting, incredible service, food cooked with care and perfect professionalism and competence , beautiful presentation and as for our experience, it was enjoyable, memorable. A great meal. Thank you to all the team. Especially the lady who took care of our table with incredible customer attention and care.

Best meal I've had in a very long time if not ever! Staff were lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere was ideal. I don't think it was overly expensive for the quality either. They are very welcoming of fans attending the London Stadium even wearing colours which a lot of places aren't.

Lovely restaurant. The cod was excellent. The open kitchen was cool. Scotch egg was great too.

Went to this place as part of our Christmas meal and to book we had to put a deposit of 25 pounds per person and this was non refundable so if we didnt turn up we would have lost the money bit harsh but also supposed to deter from people randomly booking and not turning up but still a lot to loose if you cancel The place is very spacious and has a outer sitting area too and for some reason the table we got had less leg room and most of the chaps in our group were over 6 foot so we did struggle There was the Christmas menu which had 2 course fot 27 pounds and most in my group went for that the choice for a vegetarian was not much so I went to the main menu and had the veg curry Couple of chaps ordered the minute steak one had it pink and other well done and both were very disappointed as it was neither well done or pink as ordered My curry was nice and tasted good the nan bread was tough and very salty The portions were not too much and for the price we paid I am sure they could have given bit more but he Ho Service was very good and the atmosphere was good there were a lot office goers having their Christmas lunches so it had the jovial atmosphere Good place but I won’t go back I like it and it not for any particular reason but for the fact there is not much veg options

The restaurant itself from the inside is well decorated and the overall atmosphere is enjoyable. Good food. Not so many options but the quality is good. The service can be better, the waiter tried his best but he was alone serving lots of tables so we had to wait some time. Overall recommended.

A short walk through Westfield mall in Stratford and you find this wonderful place of delicious gourmet cuisine. The place is a huge with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The automatic doors swing open and the staff are very welcoming. Although having reservations help, they do go out of their way to accommodate you if possible. After seating, our choice of sampling included GFC chicken wings and the Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips. Well, there was a pint of Peroni too! The chicken wings were cheesy/creamy filled with flavour. This did, however, mask the taste of the chicken to a large extent. The sauces on top did also make the wings more soggy than I’d prefer. The Fish & Chips were in true British form, clubbed with fries and a mushy peas dish on the side. The soft, perfectly crisped fillet was sumptuous. Nothing to add or complain about. Shoutout to Ms Alice, who took care of us during the time spent there. Her attentive nature and warm smile did add to the lovely experience there. Worth the visit and although we couldn’t sample their desserts; that’s saved up for the next visit 🤞

Celebrated my mothers birthday, Spent £250+. A complimentary Birthday slice cake or whatsoever would be nice. (We were ask while booking online & when we are about to sit down " What are we celebrating? ") Well, it is what it is.

Great atmosphere, staff are super polite and incredibly professional, unfortunately the food was a bit of a letdown, I ordered the fish and chips. It was very nice, very good portion, I would give it 9 out of 10. I have only deducted one point because the chips clearly weren’t made in the kitchen, they were just from a packet. However, my daughter ordered the burger, to say it was dry was a understatement, it was really tasteless and not delicious at all. I would give it 5 out of 10 at best, this burger was not even as good as GBK. A big disappointment, Gordon you can do much better!!

The staff are absolutely wonderful but if you’re a vegetarian, the options are dated and incredibly disappointing. Gordon Ramsay hating vegetarians must still be a thing. They only serve Pepsi, no Coke, and the non alcoholic sparking wine is £85 compared to £35 for a bottle of cava. Feels super exploitative and exclusionary to certain groups. Very disappointing except for the lovely staff.

Overall okay place but the service is questionable. When we entered the place and got seated, they said if an adult orders a main, child eats for free. We were 5 adults there and one child. When we got to paying, I just paid the bill as it was a large bill and we were rushing. When checked the receipt at home, what do you know - of course they charged for the childs meal. Dont advertise that and then scam? Probably would never return just because of this because how is that acceptable?

The food was great. 2nd time visiting as the first time was great. We were seated on the right side of the restaurant, in a corner seat with a booth. The table was set up for 3 despite being a 2 and knives were all over the floor of our table. I was right beneath a speaker and the restaurant wasn’t really busy so it was quite loud, then right after being seated another table of 2 was seated right next to us which was pretty frustrating because they were pretty much on top of us, it felt like we were dining with them. With the speaker, and the 2 next to us we couldn’t really talk as could not hear a word. It was pretty annoying as there were tons of other seats they could have been seated at. I basically just got to sit and listen to the 2 next to us for an hour. We’d been sat probably not even a minute both looking at the drinks menu first when we were already asked by a waiter about what we wanted to eat. Again, food was great, but atmosphere is a pretty big part of it all, which for us, there was none of. I really disagree with tables like that unless the restaurant is full, as it pretty much ruined the meal. Also the drinks menu being listed as a cocktail menu is pretty confusing as the only thing that technically was a cocktail was the spritz’s, and then mocktails. Also if I had to say anything about the food maybe the scotch egg could have a runnier yolk, but despite that still delicious.

Review of Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Bar & Kitchen – Stratford (22/01/2026) We arrived an hour early for our reservation and enjoyed two rounds of drinks at the bar. The bar staff were super helpful and friendly, making the wait a pleasure. At 6:00 PM, we were seated for our meal and chose the ABBA Voyage set menu. The welcome cocktail was absolutely delicious and set the tone for the evening. The sharing platter was generous and packed with flavour —definitely a highlight. For the main course, we opted for the hamburger, as time didn’t allow for the signature beef wellington. Unfortunately, this was the only disappointment: despite requesting it well done, the burger arrived mostly bloody. I was offered a replacement, which was appreciated, but sadly I didn’t have time to wait. When the bill arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by a very generous 70% discount—a thoughtful gesture that showed great customer care. Overall, the venue is fantastic, and the staff are amazing. It’s just unfortunate that one issue overshadowed what could have been a perfect experience.

I was a little disappointed with the burger, slightly dry. The starters was amazing, if the mains tasted like that I would give it 4 stars for sure. The desserts were also just ok. They didn’t have the brownie and had a cheesecake instead but it didn’t taste like cheesecake more a moose type thing. Great drinks though and lovely staff. Fries were good and nice fancy condiments. I would come back again to try something else. Reasonably priced I think.

The building is pretty special and I've wanted to visit for a long time. Staff were attentive and ambience relaxed and chill for a Sunday lunchtime. The disappointment was the lack of value for what was on offer, mainly the set menu for Sunday Roast. You could order from the ala carte and save money rather from the set menu, which didn't make sense. It didn't persuade the group to go for what would otherwise be a pricey roast. An enjoyable meal overall, though it felt a little underwhelming given the price point.

Just very average - and as a result more £ than it should be. A spectacular looking building and loverly interior decor along with a big menu of pub and classic comfort dishes. Range of food generally great - except for a distinct lack of vegetarian options (in particular starters). Quality of the food absolutely fine - just nothing special enough. Similarly the drinks list is long, but again a slightly boring set of options. Service on the night we were there a bit random - I think mainly due to having a new waiter on his first night - but that also says something about the attention to detail and quality of expectation. A summary of this would be my main: steak and ale pie. Nicely cooked pie (a little drier inside than I’d personally do), but then plonked on top of the mash (?!?) with a boring gravy and no greens - I’d get better for less at my parent’s local in a small market town in Cheshire. Not a bad choice in an area characterised by chain restaurants and just-good-enough options - I can imagine going back in the summer to take advantage of the location and the roof terrace. But for this type of food I think I’d go to The Bull.

We visited this bar and kitchen on 22/02/2026 as we was in London celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary So on the night of our anniversary we decided to book a meal here before we went to watch ABBA Voyage as a treat But a treat it was not!! Poor service had to keep asking for things for e.g would you like some water? Yes please still...after asking 3 members of staff for the water finally we was served some The presentation of the food was appalling I had fish and chips which the fish was lovely but the chips was huge fat frozen rubbish the lemon was literally cut in half not wedges what you would expect My husband ordered sirloin steak and chips and that was how it arrived no garnish or anything just plonked on a plate with no attempt to present this dish Gordon Ramsey style Apart from a complimentary glass of prosseco and a scoop of ice-cream with a candle in the visit was very disappointing When ordering dessert I asked the waitress if it would be possible to have pouring cream with my sticky toffee pudding instead of ice-cream To which she abruptly replied "No" Not "I will check with the kitchen" Just "No" With this we got the bill and left feeling extremely let down and This was supposed to be a special celebration of our 40th anniversary Would not recommend 🙁😦☹️

Dear Bread Street Kitchen & Bar Team, I recently had the pleasure of dining at your Stratford location and wanted to share some feedback on my experience. Firstly, I was excited to see the Gordon Ramsay name on the high street and couldn't resist stopping in. The gazpacho was a highlight-refreshing and well-prepared. I also appreciated the quality of the still bottled water, especially its low calcium content. However, there were a few areas that fell short of expectations: • I was advised that the 2nd floor and rooftop were closed, and outdoor seating was limited to starters and snacks. It would be helpful to understand why full meals aren't served outside. • While I was accommodated indoors, I was told the table was only available for an hour. Thankfully, that was sufficient. • The minute steak, though visually appealing, was unfortunately dry and had several chewy bits. Without napkins or a place to discard them, it made for an awkward dining experience. • The condiments-Wilkin & Sons ketchup and two types of mustard-were of good quality, but served in glass jars that were difficult to use with a fork. A spoon or alternative serving method would be more practical. • The Hugo Spritz, priced at £14.50, tasted more like a mocktail and lacked the expected punch for its price point. • Service was friendly, but not very attentive. I waited 15 minutes before having to approach the bar myself for a drink and the bill. The waiter did not introduce themselves, which felt impersonal. While I did pay the service charge, I felt I had to do some of the work myself. I understand Mondays can be resource-challenged, and the restaurant seemed busy-which is a good sign. Still, I believe a few small adjustments could greatly enhance the guest experience. Thank you for your commitment to culinary excellence. I look forward to giving Bread Street another try in the future.

Disappointing experience. The food was genuinely poor (around a 2/10) and not worth the prices at all. It was bland and lacked flavour, and we left feeling like we'd wasted money. Service was fine, but the food itself was the main issue. Wouldn't return or recommend.

The food here is "okay," but the service falls incredibly short of the price point. It felt like the restaurant’s priority was squeezing every penny out of us rather than providing a quality experience. Forgotten Orders: We asked for bread at the start. The waiter confirmed it and wrote it down, yet it never arrived throughout the entire meal. Deceptive Kids' Menu: The menu advertises "Kids Eat Free," but hides a £4 dessert charge in hard-to-read script at the bottom. The waiter never mentioned this would be extra when we ordered it. Discount Refusal: When paying, they refused to honor a 20% discount (worth about £15–£20) because of the "free" kids' meal are not allowed to pay for. It felt like a series of calculated tricks to maximize profit at the expense of reputation and honesty. For this price level, I expected transparency, not a "trap." I won't be returning.

My Daughter and I were really excited to dine at this establishment, it was meant to be the start of a perfect day… My Birthday and going to see the spectacular ABBA Voyage! Lunch first…. Beautiful warm welcome. Stunning restaurant. Menu, oh the choices, we decided to go for the fish and chips… Didn’t wait long and wow, the portion size was massive! Fish, absolutely delicious, chips, huge chunky chips…. So huge, they weren’t cooked, raw potatoe in the middle, both my daughters and mine… Tried to find smaller ones, however they were ALL very undercooked and hard! I was nearly sick! Eating undercooked chips! My poor daughter didn’t want me to say anything but I had to! The waitress took 4 chips off my plate to take to the kitchen, I requested smaller chips to enable me to finish the fish off and she brought me some fries. Then scooped the raw chips off my plate onto another????? Yes, the waitress waived one of the Fish and Chips off our bill but charged us for the replacement fries??? Can you imagine serving Mr Ramsay raw chips? Wow the plate of food would’ve been thrown across the restaurant! Really disappointed! If it hadn’t been for my Daughter treating me to this special day I would’ve refused to pay as she was absolutely mortified that I’d complained to start with and just wanted to leave! We are going to another GR restaurant in March, let’s hope the food is cooked!
