We had an amazing dinner here! The food was full of flavour, fresh, and perfectly cooked one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in London. A special thank you to Nahid for his warm welcome and outstanding service. He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly looked after throughout the evening. We’ll definitely come back and recommend this place to our friends!
As usual the best service at Bengal village! The staff always go above and beyond to ensure we have a 10/10 visit! Myself and my mum and son visit for every special occasion plus the random days we fancy good authentic food. We appreciate all the staff and Shah ensured today me and my mum had the best birthday! Thank you again and see you guys soon 💖
Excellent service from the friendly staff and swift pick up of take away service. The food was of very high quality, bursting with flavours and good generous portions. I have had many curries along the stretch of brick lane as I live local. This has to be up there as one of the best in my opinion. 5/5
We had a lovely experience here. The staff are attentive and professional, offering knowledgeable advice on the menu. The food was exemplary and the decor and atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. We only came down to London for the weekend but would definitely return next time we are here.
Had the most delicious dinner after a night out in London. The food was so well prepared, fresh, and tasty and the service was beyond warm and welcoming. Our waiter, Shah, made us feel very welcome and was super attentive, even offering us a free sambuca to end the night. I have a new favorite curry spot on Brick Lane. Don’t miss this one! It’s a gem.
Wow , greeted on street and promised a great fresh meal , yep this place delivers great food with exceptional taste , friendly and helpful staff make you feel at home and there is a superb atmosphere I really enjoyed my meal . Verdict I will be back 😀! really people you need to get yourself over here and try for yourself.
Delicious food, great service. Will definitely be back soon.
Delicious food, and great value for money - huge portions!! Fab service from Roni too :) Has become my brick lane fave.
Amazing food and service! look out for Shah, he is the best!!
Brilliant evening at The Famous Curry Bazaar. We sat outside on the street and there was a lovely vibe. Shah was a great waiter, offering good advice and the food was delicious.
Lovely curry spot on the famous curry street. Great passanda and overall delicious food. Service was very attentive too. Nahid was our wonderful server. We'll be back 😄
I always thought this was a somewhat touristy place and had low expectations before I came but the food actually surprised me! It was so tasty and the price was very reasonable as well! The waiters were very kind and always checked up on us! It was a bit sad seeing how empty it was at lunchtime so would love to see more people coming to this place!
An immaculate composition of Indian flavours encapsulated within a certain mixture of various meats and vegetables. An expertly aligned sequence of flavour experiences which do not capitulate to the usual fare of standard appropriative spices. A certainly and most indubitably concoction of the utmost things that do exist within the sphere of Brick Lane, aka, the lane of curries within London of East aka East London. Well done.
Food was absolutely amazing!! We had three different dishes all flavorful and the papadam was also particularly aromatic compared to other places. Staff was nice and interior is clean and tasteful.
A delicious meal with excellent service! The lamb madras was insane; they really nailed the flavour and heat. Service was prompt and professional. Will definitely come back again 🙏🏾
Excellent food, very tasty. Great service. Friendly and efficient staff. We were able to use our taste card and got a great discount which was helpful.
Wandering down Brick lane this restaurant caught my eye for the Bengal Tiger painted on the wall. A gentlemen invited us in and we had the best variety of dishes some, I had never tried, the Almaraskie chicken, it was delicious not hot but layered flavour. Our party of four cleaned our plates. The newbie curry person with us tried the butter chicken with peshwari naan and now will be a regular curry customer. Service excellent and recommendations spot on.
We found the Famous Curry Bazaar when we were walking outside cold in the rain and they kindly offered us a table! Friendly and attentive staff, and the lamb and garlic naan were delicious! Nice selection of chutneys with the papadoms, and even the house wines are quite decent! Would recommend if you're in Brick Lane! :)
Ok curry - nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavours or freshness but nothing was bad either. The staff were friendly but it felt very busy because we were sat in the window, and the men touting for customers were very loud and coming in/out of the shop a lot. I've been told every curry house on Brick Lane is similar quality.
You know when you walk in and within about thirty seconds you can tell whether it’s going to be a faff or a proper treat? This was the second one. We got settled quickly, the place had a nice buzz without being too loud, and it just felt easy. No awkward waiting around, no long pauses where everyone starts checking their phone and pretending they aren’t hungry. The service was properly speedy, but in the best way — attentive without hovering. Drinks turned up quickly (and yes, Cobra was very much on the table), and it set the tone straight away: relaxed, looked-after, let’s-enjoy-this kind of vibe. Then the food arrived… and that was it. The sort of food where the first bite makes you do that little nod at the table like, “Right. We’re in safe hands here.” Everything tasted fresh, full of flavour, and clearly cooked with care. Not just “nice for a curry” nice — genuinely delicious. The kind of meal where conversation keeps pausing because people are too busy eating, then you get the happy little comments mid-mouthful: “This is unreal.” “Try this.” “Go on, have some of mine.” And the big win? Every guest was happy. That’s the thing that matters most, isn’t it — different tastes, different spice levels, different expectations… and somehow everyone left satisfied. No complaints, no polite “yeah it was alright,” just proper contentment. Full plates cleared, smiles all round, and that warm, slightly smug feeling of having chosen well. So, if you’re after a curry house that gets the basics right — delicious food, quick service, and an atmosphere that makes it feel like a proper night out — this place is an easy recommendation. We’ll definitely be back.
Took the family to Brick Lane for a proper curry. We were enticed from outside by an employee which normally puts us off but they offered us a decent price per person for starter, main and a round of drinks so we gave it a go. No prices on the menu so who knows that they charged each table! It did not disappoint though. Traditional curry, great atmosphere and great service. Would recommend.
The food was absolutely delicious! The service was delightful too - we felt so well taken care of. The food came promptly. We had a lamb passanda and chilli chicken mains. But our starter of pakora was so delicious, as well as my lamb chops. The naan came warm. The only issue is our table was a little squished - when going in and out on one side it was hard to squeeze past the neighbour table, almost knocking off someone else’s food. But overall I absolutely recommend this restaurant
Great vibes and good food, decent prices and great selection of food. Lovely service too - shout out to Shah.
Very friendly service, great food! We were there early on a Wednesday evening so it was a little quiet but quickly became busy. Would recommend!
The curry was fine but a little underwhelming. Described as medium spice but really nothing off it and a hollow flavour just missing a second dimension. Cheese naan was decent but the oil had split from the cheese. Overall perfectly decent experience but I’ve had much better in my life. £73 for 2 curries, 2 rice, 1 naan, 1 Coke, 1 Beer
Service was fine, food was average. Bill came to just under £200 for four people for starter/main/rice/bread and one drink each. We were offered a 25% discount which was fine and reduced the total but the discretionary £20 tip automatically added was a bit much. I like to decide if the service merits it, not the establishment. Expensive enough for Brick Lane. There's plenty of places that would provide the same for £25 a head.
The food was quite bland overall and definitely needed more seasoning to bring the flavours out. The lamb chops were the clear highlight of the meal, cooked well and full of taste. What really stood out though was the service. Osama looked after us with great care, making the experience far better than it might have been otherwise
Food was lovely. Service was good. They accepted a booking of 20-30 people at the front of the restaurant who were very boisterous, thankfully the staff moved us to the back of the restaurant. Unfortunately, at the end of the meal when using the loo, one of our party spotted a mouse. Not good.
Not at all happy with the place. Avoid if you are Indian, since the gora pakoras might not know better. 6 GBP for water which they likely filled from the tap is insane. They smiled when we asked about it, saying that's how it is. 11 GBP for 3 thick heavy chapati which tasted like raw flour. Paneer was also very disappointing, with oil flowing freely. Only Dal tadka offered some solace. Mint chutney was so sweet it became mint yoghurt. The staff seemed disappointed in itself at how things are being carried out. On top of that, they charged 12.5% gratuity :) which felt like a dagger.
I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming at best. While the service was polite enough, the food simply didn't live up to expectations. The biggest disappointment was the Chicken Tikka Masala. It’s usually a reliable staple, but here it was a complete miss—the sauce lacked any depth of flavor and had a strange, overly sweet aftertaste. It felt more like a jarred sauce than something freshly prepared. To make matters worse, the atmosphere was far from pleasant. It was incredibly noisy inside, making it almost impossible to have a normal conversation. The loud environment, combined with the mediocre food, made for a very tiring experience. With so many great Indian spots around, I won't be returning to this one.
