Lived up to the hype and worth going to. We were sceptical of the combination of duck, waffle, egg and syrup but given it's the signature dish we gave it a try and liked it so much we've booked to go back 😉 we had booked a counter seat for the views but in fact mostly the views are at the back of the building (and not of Tower Bridge and the Gherkin). Still we enjoyed being so high up and also the lift ride up and down. The waiters were incredibly attentive and courteous. The desserts were a thing of beauty! Overall highly recommend
I came all the way from Turkey, and visiting Duck & Waffle was one of the main reasons I wanted to experience London at night — and it was absolutely worth it. 🌃 The view from the top of 110 Bishopsgate is simply breathtaking, with the city lights reflecting off the glass buildings around. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between vibrant and elegant — great music, professional staff, and an energy that makes you feel like you’re part of something special. We ordered the rigatoni and the beef burger — both delicious, well-presented, and surprisingly filling. The pasta was perfectly cooked with a rich tomato-basil flavor and fresh parmesan on top. The burger was juicy and balanced just right with the melted cheese and soft bun. Add a cold Peroni, and you have a perfect evening meal with one of the best city views imaginable. Prices are what you’d expect for a place like this, but every detail — from the service to the atmosphere — makes it feel justified. The night view alone could earn five stars on its own. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that the seating area feels a little tight, especially during the dinner rush, and there can be quite a wait for the elevators since it’s a popular spot with limited access. Still, once you reach the top and see that skyline, it’s hard to complain — the view and the vibe make it all worthwhile. If you’re in London and looking for a place that combines amazing food, skyline views, and an unforgettable vibe, Duck & Waffle is definitely worth the stop.
Had breakfast at Duck & Waffle and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented — the waffles stood out in particular. The view over London is simply incredible, especially in the morning light. The service was friendly, and everything arrived promptly. An excellent spot for a special breakfast or a treat. Definitely worth visiting! I recommend booking in advance.
We booked an early morning breakfast at Duck & Waffle and it was a brilliant way to start the day. The sunrise views over London are absolutely stunning and really make the experience feel special. I ordered the signature duck and waffle and it completely lived up to the hype. The balance of sweet and savoury flavours was spot on and everything was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere in the morning felt calm and romantic, with sunlight filling the space, and it never felt too busy. Service was friendly and attentive despite the early hour. A fantastic spot for a memorable breakfast with incredible views and one I would happily recommend.
From the high speed private elevator to the view from 40 floors up and the open kitchen it was a cool experience. The vibe was contemporary sheeck but not pretentious. Each dish was spot on and the attention to detail was evident in the execution of the components. Some of the highlights were the duck and waffle with the duck egg, the waffle on the rocks (cocktail), lobster roll, and beef donuts. But in reality everything was a delightful morsel. The only reason service was a 4 it seemed that servers could answer questions about flavors or what things were without asking and even then an ok reply and our daughter's mocktail didn't arrive till we were half way through the meal. Neither of items would prevent a return. I would strongly suggest making a reservation. Also there is a deposit to hold your reservation that is deducted from your final check.
Excellent location and 360 view of London from the highest skyscrapper in the city. Never would have imagined that duck and waffle pairs so perfect with each other. Also tasted one of the best prepared corn ribs there. Staff is very friendly and professional. excellent wine list including my favorires: Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. This restaurant is a must see place in London. Strongly recommend to book in advance as it is always almost full.
Well, I’m not good with heights and this restaurant is a like million meters above London but I was actually loving it. The view was just awesome. Having this view whilst having your breakfast is just a very special feeling. The service was ace and the place itself is quite cool. We love it. Definitely a place to check out in the big smoke.
My visit to Duck & Waffle was truly memorable, and a huge part of that was the exceptional service provided by, Adam. Being on the 40th floor offers incredible views of London, but Adam took the experience to the next level by giving me a fantastic, knowledgeable overview of the sights from our vantage point. He specifically moved me so I can have an amazing view of the Gherkin when the seating opened up! He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly a star member of the team. Beyond the excellent service, the atmosphere was wonderful. The coffee was absolutely fantastic—a perfect start—and the cider was great as well. If you visit, I hope Adam takes care of you, his service is just as spectacular as the view! Highly recommend!
We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary on Sunday, and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the service was amazing, friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout. The food was outstanding, and the views alone are worth every penny. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but for a special occasion, I would absolutely recommend it. You’re paying not just for the food, but for the whole experience. That said, I didn’t order an alcoholic drink because of the prices. While I understand that London is expensive and that this place reflects the quality and overall experience it offers, I do think they could consider offering more affordable drink options and focusing the higher price point on the food instead. A lovely touch was the complimentary dessert they provided for our anniversary, it made the evening feel even more special. Overall, we had a wonderful time, and I’m really happy I chose this restaurant to celebrate our second anniversary. It was a memorable experience.
Such a vibe being up on the 40th floor. We got super lucky and scored an absolutely perfect window seat with view of the Tower Bridge, which honestly made the whole experience for us. Tip on seating: We booked the "festive brunch" which was at a normal table. It seems like window seats are mostly reserved for pairs, while bigger groups usually get placed in the middle. If you're a group of more than two, try for the "counter table", there seem to be a few tables with a nice view. The food was good. I also tried orange wine for the first time. The waiter was so kind and took the time to explain the tropical flavor profile to me. If you're veggie: there aren't many vegetarian options on the set menu we had, so check the à la carte if you have the option. Overall: the service felt a little rushed at times, could be also because it was a public holiday. In my opinion, it’s worth the money if you get a window seat. Without the view, it might feel a bit "meh," but with it, it's a highlight.
If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in London, Duck & Waffle is an absolute must-visit. Perched high above the city with breathtaking panoramic views, the restaurant delivers both on atmosphere and flavour. The signature duck and waffle is perfectly balanced — crispy, rich duck paired with a fluffy waffle and just the right touch of sweetness from the maple mustard glaze. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the overall vibe feels special yet relaxed. Whether you’re visiting for brunch, a celebratory dinner, or late-night bites with a view, it’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. A true London icon that lives up to the hype.
Really had a great time with my partner here to celebrate my birthday. The steak was amazing and the duck is so delicious, actually everything was awesome. Wish we can have gluten free options for the waffle or maybe make a potato hash brown waffle for it, which would go so well with the duck and egg. The staff is also very accommodating; we particularly appreciate the lady in front of house who took our pictures❤️
I visited Duck & Waffle for breakfast and had such a lovely experience. The staff were amazing — genuinely warm, hospitable and welcoming, nothing superficial at all. The views are absolutely gorgeous and make it a real must-visit. I ordered the classic duck and waffle with the poached eggs, and it was perfect. Great wholesome flavour and it set me up for the day! It was certainly a stand-out experience for me, and I really hope they maintain their high standards. I’m grateful I had the chance to visit.
Such an incredible atmosphere and welcome. It was like being transported into another place entirely. Our waitress Tilly was so friendly, welcoming and attentive. She had a lovely chat with us while we paid and made the experience even better! The food was unique and tasted incredible. I would definitely go back here on my next visit!
Duck and waffle was fantastic! Love the atmosphere, it was so Christmasy, the staff from the moment you are greeted were so lovely. The food was AMAZING!!! Great place to go with friends, a group, or a date. Also the views of the Burj Khalfia are 10/10, love this place and can’t wait to go again! I also LOVED their signature duck and waffle dish as well as their red snapper tacos.
Really enjoyed our visit. Food was delicious - the king prawns were super tasty, loved the garlic and rosemary bread and the tenderstem broccoli. We had the signature Duck & Waffle too - overall a good dish but duck was a little too salty for our taste but balanced well with the waffle and egg. The mocktails were so good too. The staff here was super professional and friendly - Raneesh looked after our table and was attentive, friendly and so helpful. The view is of course amazing up there and we were very lucky to enjoy a table by the view which made the dinner extra special. We definitely will be visiting again!
We have visited twice, once in the morning for breakfast and in the evening for our daughters 18th birthday. Greeting by very friendly security and then in a glass lift for the rapid ascent to the restaurant. Obviously, the views are amazing! The restaurant is open 24 hours a day so it’s worth timing a visit for a sunrise or sunset across London. The food was very good as well with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. When they knew it was my daughter’s birthday they made a fuss of her and even had a small cake for her, definitely an 18th birthday to remember!
What an experience. With those stunning views, the warm, professional and friendly service which was attentive but not intrusive, and the truly delicious food, we forgot there were other people in the restaurant and got totally absorbed in enjoying the experience. The corn ribs were cooked to perfection. The taste burst of those cheesy polenta balls, crisp on the outside and creamy inside, delicious, and the bag of beef puffs were an absolute delight, bursting with flavour and crispy texture. We both opted for the crispy duck and waffle with that perfectly cooked egg, and the delicious syrup. The duck was so tender it fell off the bone, and the flavour combinations were perfectly balanced. We even loved the plates which stayed warm throughout the meal. We'd ordered parmesan fries to share, but that was a case of eyes bigger than belly! A lovely touch was the complimentary two wee chocolate cakes that arrived on a beautiful plate. This was an absolute treat for a special occasion and we would recommend it to anyone.
The service and atmosphere was fantastic, the food was also great if chosen correctly. On Valentines night we chose the whole roasted lobster and stuffed saddle of lamb, the lobster was perfect but the lamb was stuffed alright, stuffed with too much and hardly any lamb. It tasted nice, but stick with the duck amd waffle. The lamb was disappointing but everything else was top notch.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday at Duck & Waffle. The food and cocktails were excellent, and the atmosphere made the night even more special. A special thanks to Sommelier Luis, who took great care of us throughout the evening. His professionalism, warm hospitality, and great recommendations truly elevated our experience. Everything about the night was delightful, and it’s definitely a place we will happily return to. Highly recommended for a memorable evening in London!
Great spot with amazing food and beautiful views. The duck and waffle were great. It’s open 24/7. Definitely get a reservation. The Spicy Ox Cheek Donut was a favorite!
The restaurant is on the 40th floor! Access is via a glass elevator on the outside of the building. The views across London are phenomenal, we had perfect weather-albeit chilly, on our visit. Booked for my partners 40th, requested a window table. The food was amazing, I am celiac so required gf options. Whilst they don't do a gluten free menu, they are happy to adapt, and go through their procedure.I had their signature dish with gf waffle, it tasted so good! My partner had the breakfast and that too was lovely. I also cheekily had a dessert, again with gf waffles. We will definitely be returning in the future as they are open 24hrs, so will book for the evening and see London at night.
I had a wonderful breakfast here, the service was warm and attentive, the food was delicious, and the ambience was perfect. The view is truly one of the best in London. The only thing that could be improved is the coffee, which wasn’t as good as everything else. Still, overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely come back.
This place is so worth the hype! I came here for my graduation lunch and it was such a memorable experience. The views from the 40th floor are incredible, and the food was great overall. The standout dish was definitely the duck and waffle. Just wish that the all the mains were served together cause we got most of them separately. The service was excellent—they even gave me a complimentary graduation dessert, which was so sweet of them. I highly recommend booking early and requesting a table with a view!
I really enjoyed my experience at Duck & Waffle ✨ The atmosphere is stylish and relaxed, the food is delicious, the drinks are perfectly made 🍸, and the view is absolutely stunning 🌆 Today I was in the mood for beef, so I ordered the beef carpaccio and the beef burger 🥩 — both were incredibly tasty and perfectly prepared. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would definitely recommend this place 🤍
Christmas Lunch Review🎄✨ Duck & Waffle 📍 40th Floor 110 Bishopsgate City of London 🗓 Christmas Day Duck & Waffle was, for us, about far more than just fine dining at a fancy restaurant. It was a quietly meaningful moment wrapped in sky-high views & thoughtful hospitality. This year, it was just mum, sis & I. Our first Christmas alone together in nearly 40 years, which gave the occasion a depth no menu could manufacture. From the outset, the welcome set the tone. Maria greeted us warmly, seating us at a beautiful corner table, where the panoramic horizon views stretched endlessly across London with an almost meditative backdrop for contemplative reflection; it felt perfectly suited to the occasion. ‘Elevated’ in every sense. Service throughout was exceptional too. Both Francisco & Wallace were attentive, calm, & genuinely gracious. The kind of service where nothing feels rushed, forced, or transactional. Naturally, at this level, the price point is not insignificant BUT, the professionalism, care, & ease with which they looked after us made it feel entirely appropriate. Both a credit to the organisation. The food was elegantly presented, & enjoyable without stealing the spotlight from the moment itself. That said, my dear Ma’s title is in no danger 😉 Ambience was refined yet relaxed. Festive without feeling overdone, allowing space for conversation, reflection & much mirth. We even enjoyed the corny Christmas cracker jokes 😅 A particularly nice touch was a brief conversation with Joshua, a young gent just a few months into his role, who spoke warmly about settling into the firm & clearly taking pride in being part of the team. Those small human interactions often linger longest & were appreciated. All told, this Christmas lunch was marked by care, perspective, & presence. Duck & Waffle provided not just a table, but a setting within which a quietly significant family moment could unfold & we’re genuinely grateful. Sometimes, a view reminds you how far you’ve come. And sometimes a setting reminds you just who you’re moving with. Thanks again for a memorable time and Seasons best to all reading. @TheHumbleHost 🎩👓
We had an incredible breakfast at Duck & Waffle, thanks in large part to the wonderful service from Elina. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcomed and taken care of. She was attentive, kind, and gave us great recommendations. What made the morning even more special was the sweet surprise she arranged for our anniversary — such a thoughtful touch that truly made our evening unforgettable. The food was fantastic and the view was stunning, but Elina’s service is what made the experience exceptional. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be returning!
Getting up at 5 AM was totally worth it! We enjoyed an incredible sunrise from the 40th floor and a delicious breakfast. Raul was exceptionally kind and professional, making us feel truly welcome. Definitely one of the most special experiences in London and we hope we’ll have the chance to return.
Duck and waffle This is my go-to place no matter the time of day ! It’s easy to get to, easy to find reservations, and you can make it a fancy evening or a casual lunch. I love that they change their menu throughout the day. Because it’s open 24 hours, My friends and I come for dinner and end up staying for the menu change and order again… that’s how good the food is. The environment is also quite lovely, there is a fantastic view or all of London from very high up. The waiters are friendly and nice. You have a lovely view of the kitchen. Our only trouble is finding room in our stomach to eat more ! Their duck and waffle is a classic and a must try. So is their mashed potato and brussel sprouts ! The vibe is incomparable, very comfortable and fulfills a desire to go out ! Our waiter Abdul was fantastic, had to give him a shout out !
Visited for breakfast service at 8:15, which was before the morning rush, so got to enjoy the views and interior decorations. The staff were very accommodating and the service from Elena was attentive and friendly. Recommend to reserve online and check the weather forecast in advance for the best view!
We went for our Christmas dinner and loved it! Service was amazing and food was better than we expected. Such a lovely interior & ambiance throughout the restaurant!
Very unique place with an amazing view of London. We came for late dinner at 23:30 and had the late night menu. The food is really good, everything we tried was delicious! I recommend trying the foie gras crème brûlée which is amazing.
Outrageous experience. We got lucky, made reservations about 6 weeks ago and had nice weather. No rain and not a cloud in the sky... Great drinks and excellent food. Service and drinks were great. Oh, loved the elevator ride up... Outstanding views...
If you don't come here, it's your own fault, really! Fantastic view, first class service without anoying shit (just authentic and nice), awesome food and tbh: If you think this is expensive or the deposit (which of course you lose if you don't show up, Guys...) is too high, stay home. Plus: you treated my girlfriend sooooo kind for her birthday. It was just amazing. 😍
Great food and service! Maitre’d was very kind and accommodated our schedule change with grace and service. Wonderful food, service, ambiance was scenic. English breakfast was amazing, duck and waffles signature dish is like butter melting in your mouth.
A good restaurant with a stunning view. We had steak as a specialty and cod. The steak was incredible, the most tender meat melted in your mouth with a peppery cream sauce. The cod was also delicious, but its downside is that it's served in a generous amount of melted butter, which makes it feel like you're eating butter with fish. We also ordered golden snitch for dessert, which was incredibly delicious, and the manager paired it with an excellent dessert wine. I also want to note that the manager professionally took all our wishes into account and made sure we left the restaurant satisfied 😊
Ambiance is out of this world here. It’s like walking into the world of Harry Potter and also the view of London here is one of the best (right by the Shard and Gherkin) Staff were also very friendly. Definitely need to make a reservation. Had the signature duck and waffle and the duck confit was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Also had a foie gras brûlée appetizer which was pretty unique. The bread it came with was not the best but we had ordered a side of warm house bread and that made this dish standout. Definitely would come back to try other dishes here!
Tasty English Cuisine, crispy duck, sweet delights with nice drinks and great views from 40th floor. Private high speed lift to the restaurant. Open kitchen. floor to ceiling glass with amazing view of Gherkin next to it and distant views of Tower bridge, Tower of London, Thames and Canary wharf on a clear day. Not much expensive and is worth for the money spent.
We visited Duck & Waffle and overall it was OK, though probably a bit overhyped. You’re clearly paying a premium for the venue and the view, which are both excellent. The setting is impressive and makes it worth doing once, especially if you haven’t been before. Food was mixed. The duck and waffle itself was fine but fairly average. It’s the dish you feel you have to order, but it wasn’t a standout. The pork ribs and the foie gras were very good, not something you’d have every day, but both were genuinely enjoyable and better than the headline dish. Service was smooth and professional. Prices feel high for the food alone, but that’s clearly driven by the location and experience rather than the cooking. Worth visiting once for the view and the venue. I’m glad I went, but you’re paying more for where you are than what’s on the plate.
Obviously this is very high up. There's a fast lift up to the level, which is 40. To note, that the views are stunning however if there is bad weather, due to the height, visibility could be poor. The food was delicious. Service was fast. The tables were a little close together though as the restaurant itself isn't as big as you'd expect, and its very easy to hear other people's conversations due to the table locations. This also makes the restaurant very loud. Romantic it is not, but tasty, definitely.
Our experience with Luis has been amazing. He has been very attentive from the beginning until the end. He has an exceptcional understanding of what customer experience means. The food was great, although the views are enjoyed really if you go in couples, otherwise you will be sat in the middle with not great views.
Great view and friendly service made our visit very enjoyable. The food was tasty and well-prepared, although the portion sizes for the starters have gone down, which was slightly disappointing. Regardless, this a great spot for a bite to eat
Duck & Waffle, Bishopsgate - A Sky-High Delight My first visit to Duck & Waffle in Bishopsgate was an absolutely lovely experience, serving as the perfect setting for a mini reunion with two friends. Setting & Atmosphere Perched on the 40th floor, the restaurant boasts absolutely incredible views. We booked and arrived around 6:00 PM in Mid September, which was perfect timing to witness a breathtaking sunset over the city. The atmosphere inside was delightful and very welcoming, with a warm buzz and a very large seating space. The journey up is an event in itself. The high-speed, glass lift offers brilliant, unforgettable views as you ascend. A word of caution: be prepared for your ears to pop due to the pressure! Make sure to take a quick video of the ascent—you won't regret it. Food & Drink The food was very good. We all had the classic Duck & Waffle, with fried duck egg, mustard maple syrup, which was a real highlight, different but tasty. The duck was very well done—crispy on the outside and nicely cooked on the inside. For dessert, we shared the Sticky Toffee Waffle, which was sweet enough and a lovely finish to the meal. Service & Practicalities The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The restaurant also provided good toilet accessibility. Conclusion Overall, it was a truly special evening out amongst three friends. The combination of fantastic food, a delightful atmosphere, and those stunning views makes Duck & Waffle a must-visit. Highly recommended!
All in all a good experience. The food was very good and something I wouldn’t usually have. View is also worth it and the service was quick and comfortable. Prices are expensive but ok for a special occasion. I was only a bit disappointed that they didn’t attend to the note I left in the reservation about my boyfriend’s birthday. I thought maybe they would bring a small cake or something.
Feeling the distinctive features of the restaurant's signature dishes. Please understand that every guest who order an entire bottle of wine is looking forward to the entire tasting journey of the bottle. When you savor the prelude and savor the middle notes in the bottle with the nice food, the bottled wine is served to a table next to yours, you will understand the moment's disappointment. By the time you realize it, it's too late and make up for the unknown wine in the other small glass bottle. Leave disappointedly with a 15% service fee, we understand serving tourists need extra passion. Our London’s journey must go on.
My first visit to Duck & Waffle on the 40th floor turned a simple catch-up with two friends into something truly special.Setting & Views The panoramic vistas are breathtaking. Arriving around 6 p.m. in around April gave us decent view to a spectacular sunset over London. The spacious dining room has a lively yet relaxed buzz, and the dramatic glass elevator ride up (ears popping included!) is an attraction in itself definitely film it.Food & Drink The signature Duck & Waffle didn't lives up to the hype: crispy confit duck leg, fried egg, and that addictive mustard-maple syrup create a brilliant sweet-savory balance wasn't flavourable. We finished by asking the waitress if we can have the birthday cake but didn't allow us to eat it on a special day. Service Staff were warm, attentive but the policy of not allowing to have a birthday cake should be changed on a special day for someone. Duck & Waffle delivers everything it promises: exceptional views, creative and delicious food, and a vibrant yet comfortable atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for celebrations, reunions, or simply treating yourself to one of London’s most iconic viewing experiences.
Note: Our concerns were addressed and resolved, so this review, although critical, is purely to inform future guests about what to expect at duck and waffles dinner services for special occasions. After all, a refund can’t undo a ruined experience on a special day. Atmosphere: Please note that the view is not guaranteed to be clear. On our day, the windows had condensation and you were not able to look through them at all. This was just unlucky. The interior is otherwise luxurious and cosy. The tables and settings are lovely. Food: Highlight: the lobster roll, peach cocktail, and the duck were the best dishes we ordered. The turkey was too sweet, the vegetables were undercooked and had more of a dry bite than desirable, and the potatoes were just unpleasantly dry. The chocolate mousse was particularly disappointing. It was inedible because the inside ‘lime caramel’ was frozen as well as the biscuit. Also it was more so a pudding, rather than a light and airy mousse. I would not order desserts here. Service: This is what ruined the night for us. Our section did not have a consistent server. We counted 5 different waiters / waitresses tending to our table, not including those who served the food. The person who introduced herself as our server we saw just chatting at her stand more than anything. It was difficult to get anyones attention, we did not know who to call for help, and there was no acknowledgement for our special occasion until we were served a complementary mini cake at the end past our booking slot. If you are looking for a special dinner to celebrate your day and loved ones: do not expect that in the ‘service’ provided here. Overall, the experience and food is not satisfactory for the full price. This restaurant is better suited for casual dinners, and potentially the day services (brunch/breakfast) might be better. (1 dessert was taken off the bill as were our drinks as an apology, otherwise we were looking at a bill around £166 altogether, discretionary service charge not included here. We ordered 2 drinks, 1 snack, 2 small plates, 2 mains, 2 desserts. )
My whole dish was cold. The caramelised banana was cold, so was the waffle. I mentioned it to staff and they said oh you want it hot? I'll bring a new one. Assumed it would be a new dish but they brought back a warm bare waffle, so I had to transfer the cold banana, tap the sugar dusting off the old waffle etc myself. Paying the prices they charge then having sub standard food is frustrating. We ended up paying over £85 for an english breakfast, banana waffle, corn, tea, coffee and orange juice. They take a deposit of £20pp so it doesn't feel as painful on the day, but when you add up what you've actually paid its a rip off. The english breakfast was worth the money but the rest... nah. Nice views but I won't be rushing back until I've forgotten the experience and then probably get frustrated again.
We were excited to come to Duck & Waffle as it comes highly recommended from many, but were left disappointed. The elevator up was exciting, and getting to the top floor with a nice view was lovely! It was a bit packed in the restaurant, but the music and ambiance were great. The drinks (at least, the cocktails) were overly sweet and I wish they had some less-sugary options on the menu. Overall, the food and service is what disappointed us most. The server was unsure of several of our questions, including whether the plates were shareable in size & how some were cooked (fried vs grilled). The Caesar salad was the best thing we had, but covered in cheese and overly dressed. The beef tartare was over-seasoned with horseradish or mustard, leaving you no flavor in your mouth but that. The short rib was decent and had the right flavors, so that was #2 for us. Unfortunately, the duck & waffle just missed the spot. The egg was well cooked, but the duck was overly salted and the skin was too thick and crispy to eat. The waffle had nothing special to it.
I went to Duck & Waffle yesterday for a date night with my wife, and it started off well until an incident completely ruined the evening. I received an important phone call that I had to answer briefly at the table. While I was on the call, the restaurant manager, Benson, approached me in a very disrespectful and rude manner, telling me that receiving calls is not allowed. When I calmly asked if this is an official restaurant policy, he replied “kind of,” clearly not even knowing the rules of his own workplace. I asked him to contact the general manager, which he refused to do. Thankfully, one of the waiters, Ranish, handled the situation with complete professionalism and respect. He helped me get in touch with the general manager, who later apologized and removed some items from the bill. While I appreciate the apology, the damage was already done — the manager’s behavior had completely ruined what was supposed to be a special night out. I removed the service charge from the bill and gave it directly to Ranish, as he was the only person who truly deserved it. His service was excellent and he handled a very uncomfortable situation far better than management did. Disappointing experience overall due to poor management behavior. No amount of compensation can fix being treated rudely during a personal evening.
