I was taken here for my birthday brunch and this definitely hit the spot. This brunch is like no other. It had osyters, lobster, salads, Sunday roasts, etc. The list was endless. They have a huge Sunday buffet and also have a range of pizza and pasta for orders. The food is always replenished fresh and you are allow to help yourself as many times as your belly will allow. The desserts are a show stopper so please do leave plenty of room. A very busy place so book in advance and make sure you do not eat anything before.
Stopped by chance for breakfast and we’re not disappointed! Cosy, little intimate cafe set within the lobby of the Ned. Food was fantastic quality - we’d recommend the Malibu omelette. Some interesting alternative lattes on offer too, the beetroot cacao latte was inspired.
Great place. This building was an old bank. See the vault in the basement. Malibu Kitchen offers a range of Mexican dishes which are great to share if you are with a group. Nice staff and good service!
Really fantastic brunch with fresh-tasting feel for both food/drinks. As a coffee lover, their coffee is absolutely wonderful, so do recommend. The menu is limited and a bit pricey, but still a worthwhile meal. The restaurant is within the Ned, so you may catch some live music in the centre as you eat - do take a look around the ground floor!
Went there for late lunch on a Sunday. The place is nice and crowded. It is part of a hotel called NED and is one of the several restaurants you have there. It is a sharing concept and you can easily do with 2 to 3 plates per person. I recommend the pancakes as they are a real highlight, the sea bream tacos that are quite nice and the granola.
Great place for a healthy lunch with variety of salads, raw food as well as cured fish. Nice to visit the NED and enjoy the buzz in the City on a Sunday. Love the cosy booths for 2 and the beautiful plates of fresh, vibrant food! Went for a brunch and shared the Avocado dip, with Taro crisps and vegetable crudities as a starter. Followed by a naughty tasty Cheeseburger, made with grass-fed beef in a potato bun with fries. My guest had the “Brick” chicken, grape, tomato, spicy yogurt, basil which was spicy and filling. Finished with a delicious Raw Chocolate cake which was an avocado and chocolate cake on a base of dates with raspberry sauce.
I’ve been having breakfast here multiple times. Lovely place with some different healthy options. The food is always cooked perfectly and the coffee with almond milk is just delicious.
We had the crab burrito, egg quesadilla and sea beam tacos. The crab burrito had a really good portion is crab for 22 pounds. The egg quesadilla was the perfect scrambled eggs with a slight crunch and went well with the dips. The guac was well seasoned. The sea beam taco had such a good chilli relish, sweet with a ting of spice. Really loved the ambience with good lighting. Loved the sweet potatoes fries
Booked Malibu Kitchen for my partner's birthday breakfast. It is located in The Ned which is a wonderful hotel in the City of London. Malibu Kitchen occupies a small space on the ground floor. It is a cosy and intimate space where you can catch up with a friend or colleague and a great place to go with your partner. We enjoyed a tasty and healthy breakfast. I would recommend that you check this place out.
Malibu Kitchen at the Ned was pretty amazing. Creative salads and grass fed beef. Good quality healthy food. Definitely a good choice for a light lunch.
Had a really great brunch here, the Crab Burrito was top notch and not something you see elsewhere. Portion sizes were filling, and service was attentive. Prices are as expected for the area and being inside a hotel.
I have come here a few times before for breakfast or brunch. I came today after a while and my experience was still very nice. One of the many restaurants located in the The Ned. Malibu Kitchen is hidden at the back and quite small, but has a lovely atmosphere. I normally make a booking but walked in today and it was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon which was likely to be because of the weather being warm so everyone was outside! I enjoyed the peace and nice atmosphere. Lovely menu. Not huge but more than a sufficient choice for brunch including eggs, pancakes, taco, poke, juices, smoothies and more. I had the egg white omelette with basil, chive and tarragon. This was really good. Freshly made, well presented, fluffy and healthy! A nice light breakfast. To drink, I had one of the smoothies which was lovely. I will say, portion sizes for some dishes can be small. This was fine for me as I am a tiny eater. Others may find that they want more. Malibu Kitchen is a good place if you want something light and reasonably healthy. Don't expect as another reviewer commented and I agree, food that will blow you away. This is more good food, a safe option. As the name of the restaurant suggests, think California! Lovely atmosphere and on Saturday there is usually live light jazz type music that starts around noon which is great. You can't see the music stage from Malibu Kitchen but you can hear the music. Some of the other restaurants in The Ned have a good view of the stage if you want to be closer to the music. Restaurant is very clean. Malibu Kitchen is more cozy and has a brasserie type feel. You don't need to dress up so much but look neat. Service is good. Staff are pleasant. Small negative is that they can be a little too attentive. It would be nice just to be left to relax. Food comes out quickly once you order. They display calories as well which is helpful. Not too badly priced given location and venue. Would definitely recommend. I would suggest booking as well.
Great experience for all the 5 senses! The colors the options and taste were just delicious ! I’d 100% recommend! For £25 there’s an all you can eat buffet with hot and cold options and dessert. Will come back!
Cozy little corner in the NED, ideal for a meeting or some focused work and some great food. They have a simple menu, good veggie and vegan options but I wish they would do more. I haven’t seen the pancakes on the menu anymore. Soup was delicious, butternut and coconut. Perfect for a light lunch or late afternoon snack. Sweet potato fries are a good portion but the yummy dip that comes with could be a bit bigger. I ran out half way through the chips. Service is polite and quick. Can highly recommend.
Friendly staff, quick service. Great healthy and low carb/high protein options. The turmeric pancakes are quite sweet so I would suggest asking for the syrup on the side rather than on top.
One of the best Mexican 🇲🇽, good food, good atmosphere, good staff. Will be back soon 🔜
What a great night! Food was delicious and the service was incredible! The staff was so sweet, attentive and professional, we were so impressed! It was my friends Birthday and they truly exceeded all our expectations! Thank you so much!
Great food in an interesting location (old bank building) for low prices for the quality and location. We paid ~£180 for 4 people with starters, vegetarian mains, dessert and a bottle of wine and including service. It isn't cheap but I was pleasantly surprised by the prices considering that the Ned is located in the city seeing the quality of the food.
Had a lovely lunch at Malibu Kitchen. Quite a small venue, but impressively presented, tasty, and healthy food options. Lots of vegetarian options too. Good service.
Really lovely healthy and fresh tasting food. Good for work lunches. I went on my birthday and they also gave me a cake to go with it.
Amazing place for breakfast/brunch. Luxury look is fascinated. Open kitchen and so kind stuff.
🤩 WOW! The vibe and venue is Amazing but that’s just the start. The service and food was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend.
Tasty food and cosy place are the two things that can describe this place among others. Visited on a Sunday and had a good time.
Very beautiful and charming place. Jazz ambiance lovely. The staff is kind and at your service. Food is very tasty. Price range 20-30$.
Rejoice in the ambiance of NED, yet in a more quiet tucked away side of the Great hall. Yummy vegan food on offer with super fast service (also have non vegan options)
I really loved the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended
Very tasty and healthy menu in a charming environment. Staff were super helpful and very polite. All considered prices are reasonable and the whole experience very pleasant.
quiet, woody, warm. gorgeous setting. food was secondary. great place for a meeting.
Very nice choices for breakfast, the food was nice restaurant location is nice it’s located in The Ned hotel
Yummy food and drinks, staff were friendly and attentive. Will be back to try out other dishes.
It's a fantastic spot to have brunch at and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to indulge in a scenic area to eat.
One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Bold flavors. Don’t miss.
We had an amazing experience at The Ned - Malibu Kitchen. The outdoor location was stunning, providing the perfect ambiance. The food was delicious, and Cedric, our server, was exceptionally friendly and attentive.
I've been here a couple of times for lunch and, if you're hungry, you do need to be careful with what you order as some dishes are tiny (on the flip side a couple are big!). Chances are you will be sat on a high table with other people right next to you (the booths seem hard to come by). That said it is a nice atmosphere and the staff are always great. Good vegetarian options.
I am always up for healthy and light meals, specially if it is at an elegant place, with a nice live music in the background - coming from the center area of The Ned - and that was my feeling with Malibu Kitchen. A lot of Vegan and Vegetarian options, salads, fresh food, good drinks.
The setting is undeniably amazing. We had brunch, the menu had plenty of variety although the drinks menu was more interesting. The fish in the tacos was a little lacking in execution but other than that the food was good.
Nice healthy options and no frills food. Decent wine selection and good cocktails and fresh natural drinks. Service was great and the ambiance at the Ned, especially on Thursdays, is always on point. The portions are also good for the price - you can eat well without breaking the bank. The only star down is that although they had Asian things on the menu (poke bowl, Japanese veg and salad dishes) they didn't have any chopsticks. It felt wrong to eat a raw salmon poke bowl with a fork. Other than that - would go again if I want a healthy menu in the City!
Awesome location. Because we were 7 we were forced the sharing menu for 45£ each. Hit or miss dishes.good desserts. No complaints with the service, they did a foot job.
Pricier than most places but it's normal given the location. Avocado toast was nice, but Americano coffee could have been bigger and smoother. Service was quick as well.
I had a very tasty breakfast here, the service was ok though. Our orders were taken in a nice amount of time, but no one checked in on us at any point to see if we wanted anything else after the first order was taken. We had to chase someone down to get the bill, despite being here during the week and it not being overly busy. If you’re not so bothered about this, then I would recommend this place certainly for the kimchi benedict.
Delicous breakfast and very friendly staff. The acai bowl was A+ with fresh berries. Highly recommend the tasty avocado toast.
Exceptionally limited menu, though what was available was of very good quality (if a little overpriced, particularly given the plate sizes were quite small). I think there are better restaurants in the NED, but this certainly wasn't a bad dining experience. One course and a couple of drinks per person came to £45 per head. Bloody Mary's were nice and punchy.
I found it a bit pricy and small portioned. Airly and bright inside. The service was slow, but polite. Taste light. Not bad at all.
I have been doing veganuary and herd good things about Malibu kitchen as it had a big range of vegan food. Food wise to start we had smashed avocado with raw vegetables (the quality of vegetables was very good) for mains had the vegan burger(very bland). Staff wise not that best, don’t know the menu well, really didn’t look happy to be at work. The most disappointed thing was they gave us cookies with the bill after telling them we are vegan.
I really like the Ned and find it great for coffee / drinks / massages. Malibu Kitchen has a very nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly and efficient. But I would really not recommend the food. I had a flank steak which was barely edible (extremely chewy) and a £7 quinoa side salad which was about 100g of tasteless quinoa and rocket leaves (with no seasoning or dressing). Maybe other things on the menu are better but I'm definitely not going back to find out, when there are so many other options just around the corner that are cheaper and much, much better.
The restaurant is placed in one cozy corner of the hotel's grand lobby, along with a few other dining and bar spaces. The ambience is grand and the music was lovely. We actually went for the food but didn't like it, the quality, taste was very average, infact the oil used felt like was overused. Hope such nicely located and maintained places are able to keep up the quality of food.
Surprised at the great comments. The breakfast menu is a bit uninspiring. The turmeric pancakes were overly sweet and sickly. Front of house woman a little curt - we had to get our own menu and when we asked if we could order there was a definite eye roll. The kind of place you have to watch not to annoy them 😂. Lastly super overpriced for the quality.
Ordered several dishes and was genuinely disappointed by the low quality of the food, especially considering it’s The Ned. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food itself was a letdown (2/5). For the price point, it really didn’t deliver and I wouldn’t return. We ordered a ceviche, and the plantain chips were fried in the same oil as fish, leaving an unpleasant, greasy aftertaste. We let the staff know, and while they acknowledged the feedback and said they’d inform the kitchen, the item wasn’t removed from the bill, even though we didn’t eat it. Overall, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, and unfortunately, now I understand why.
Food was so average. The taco flight was sloppy and not worth it at all. Starters / snacks were better, recommend them more. Staff were friendly but kept trying to take our plates away when we were still eating or food was still on the plate.
We got a booth which was great food was amazing but the waiters literally took my plate WITH food still on it as I was eating I had to call her back and she asked me “ you still want the rest of your steak ? “ the service is very rushed I understand but to take someone’s food as they are still eating is incredibly rude.
