Really nice food! Well cooked and seasoned. I have never tried medium rare pork. It was so nice. You cannot tell it is pork.
Not our first visit and always a delight. Good service, great food and wonderful ambience.
Great food and service
Perfect
fantastic meat
Nice place. Very good food! Except for the the Pastel de Nata (Custard tart) - that one could be much better... It is not cheap, but the quality was overall good
Excellent food. Warm and friendly service. Great atmosphere. I enjoyed this place thoroughly.
Excellent menu, too much choice really, so we have to come back.
Service was fast, staff were friendly and very helpful. But more importantly, the food was fantastic!
Great food, friend staff and the wine list is excellent.
Have loved this place for years. Still on good form. Iberico pork or get in the sea.
Great portuguese/spanish cuisine at very good prices.
Very pleasantly surprised food fab staff very accommodating
Such a great place, food and ambience are amazing!
Great Portuguese restaurant. Top fish.
Very friendly place and the food is delicious !!!
Best steak I've ever had
Always fantastic Portuguese cooking.
A regular dining spot for me. Iberian food at it's best, with a great selection of wines as well. Simple, good food. I tend to go for the Iberico pig and the pimientos to start. The restaurant has a great layout and is great for both lunch or dinner.
One of my favorite places in london : tapas are amazing, many variations on pork/ham, try the wine list. On top of this I love the modern take on wooden decor. Even the smell inside makes you forget a bit you are in london.
Love this place. Top notch food and wines, great for tapas for lunch. Not cheap but great value and never have a problem getting a table, even at short notice.
Amazing restaurant, perfect tapas. I could eat here everyday if it weren't for my weak stomach. The place is excellent and I can guarantee you'll have a lovely evening if you visit.
Pricey, no doubt. Nevertheless, this sophisticated and relaxing place will provide you with a great service and even better food. Straight off to the top of the list of the best Portuguese restaurants in London.
While Eyre Brothers is located in the Shoreditch area, a trendy and buzzing area, being nestled on Leonard Street gives it a quiet and unassuming backdrop. Having been fortunate to visit various Portuguese restaurants, Eyre Brothers food can be described as authentic and flavoursome while the atmosphere can be described as modern and relaxed - with natural wood and leather being staple components of the decor. The wine menu is typically Spanish and Portuguese featuring red riojas and white Vinho Verde, a popular grape in Portugal distinguished by its high acidity. Eyre Brothers list of Vinho Verde is good, considering the flavour of Vinho Verde depends on the grape varieties used. I highly recommend the mineral and subtly fragrant Alvarinho. The food menu features the staples of Spanish and Portuguese cuisine - cod, pork, beef, spices. The menu is a combination of starters, mains, tapas and petiscos (a variation of tapas). Eyre Brothers signature dish is their Sollomio Iberico (a thyme and pimentão infused Black Iberico pork fillet) which comes with tasty potatoes. Technically there is no traditional side dishes, but I would recommend the Fried Courgettes (with chilli, garlic and mint) that serve as a healthier and tastier replacement to fries. The service is cordial and attentive - without being overbearing. What is refreshing about Eyre Brothers is that the staff and food demonstrate a true love and genuine passion for Spanish and Portuguese food.
Very good selection of food and wine. The acorn fed ibérico fillet is the best in town! Great service and decor makes it a special place.
A fantastic restaurant with great atmosphere, fantastic food and a great choice of wines and beers. The staff are friendly and very amenable to most requests. They accept walk-ins as well as advance reservations; service is always very friendly and quick... The staff are always happy to make recommendations. Ideal for business meetings or taking someone special...
I've been here so many times and it's always been a pleasure. The food is delicious and quite authentic, according to some of my friends who are familiar with the Spanish culture. There restaurants has lots to offer in terms of interior design and food quality - both on a very high level. The place is always packed for the dinner hours so make sure to make a reservation.
Tasty food. Served well. Shabby neighbourhood.
The Iberico pork is exceptional
Having booked a lunch meeting for a client here, our director enjoyed this restaurant and we will be using it again for another lunch event. The services and food were both of a high standard and we were not disappointed.
Very impressive 'high end' tapas. At lunchtime, sit at the bar and share a range of small plates with a sherry or two. In the evening, sit at the tables and feast on nut fed pork.
Really tasty food, loved the menu and had so much great stuff to eat, will go back
AMAZING food!!! a bit expensive, but worth it! the service is not great though
Amazing food, good service. Book a table or you won't get in
Nice food, nice wine, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Food is nice but not the best veggie options
Nice tapas, great people watching
Some very nice food and wine
Excellent food, wine and ambience
Nice restaurant on the edge of the city and Shoreditch. Some great wines to choose from and great service. I think the menu should go back to its Spanish roots more then it does.
Nice atmosphere. Wondered where some of our favourite staff have gone though. Roast lamb but wish I had taken the scallops!
No longer Eyre Brothers. Good attempt at imitation but the spark is gone.
Lovely food nice service. It was shame that they added few items on the bill we didn't either order or eat. Considering that there were only 4 tables being served and the waiter didn't know what we ordered, it was somewhat disappointing.
Visited this place on a Saturday night, we were two couples. The food is nice, I cannot say a bad word about it, it would not be fair to the chef(congratulations, the veal was amazing!). However, the service was lacking, mainly because I found something in my glass of wine and when I asked a member of the staff she replied "that's how the wine is, maybe you don't know about it because you don't drink a lot of red wine". To clarify : I have done my fair share of traveling, including 9 years I've spent in Italy and I do enjoy the occasional bottle of red wine, so I was not asking just to be difficult(also, out of all the people at our table, who had ordered the same type of wine, I was the only one with what appeared to be impurities in his glass). To sum it up, the food is nice, but don't expect great customer service.
What happened?? This used to be a great restaurant but post-refurb it has gone downhill. Staff whilst pleasant were clueless especially about gluten free. Food was decent but not amazing. The new open plan layout isn't as good as the more intimate surroundings which were there previously. Might try again once it has settled down but it's not a cheap night out to experiment with.
We called at 640 PM on a Saturday night and asked if it would be possible to get a table at 7 for two. We were told no, but we could try getting a seat at the bar (which I actually prefer anyway). Turns out they don't open until 7 and we easily got a seat at the bar and the restaurant was empty. We filled up on tapas which was mediocre. An hour later at 8 o'clock the restaurant was still empty. Weird. Food was quite mediocre, but wine list is pretty good.
Under new management. Completely gone down the drain. Food is extremely mediocre as is the service.
Went on the week of Eyre Brothers just reopening after having a revamp. Been going here for 7 years and always been a big fan. New decor not too atmospheric with unfinished lighting, but we were still excited to be back. Following a convo with our waiter we found out the restaurant had been bought by Vice. We didn’t think much of it, still very much thinking that the food would still be just as great. We were wrong! So dissappointing. We had - - Tomato bread - it came in deconstructed form with garlic on the side and a pot of tomatoes. This wouldn’t have been a problem had there been enough tomatoes, and that the bread were toasted enough for the garlic to spread over the bread when you rubbed it. However the garlic stayed pretty much whole, and I had to ask for more tomatoes. - Grilled squid - Badly cooked frozen squid on a salad of uncooked spinach, with whole halves of mini uncooked onions, aioli didn’t taste fresh - Goats cheese with figs - does what it says on the tin, not an amazing goats cheese and also came with no dressing - Deep fried courgettes with mint - probably the best thing we had. Not usually down for deep fried but this was simple and a saving grace We’d ordered 2 dishes each with a plan to order more. Instead, we paid up and got out of there ASAP. Really hope this is just teething problems.....
We had a reservation for a large group on Thursday the 7th of December to celebrate a birthday. Quite by chance that morning I went onto their website, and spotted that it was still saying they were closed for refurbishment. We had not heard anything from them since they confirmed our reservation a few weeks earlier, so I called them to check that everything was ok. They were apologetic, but confirmed that due to an unexpected delay in their refurbishment they were still shut, and that they must have forgotten to contact us. They asked us to drop them an email and said they would then give us a discount to come in when they were open by way of apology. We did this, but have received no response at all. Not great to be left with no reservation for a large group in December on 2 hours notice, but terrible customer service to then not even reply to a message they requested we send. Awful way to treat customers, would not recommend to anyone. Luckily for us, the amazing Passo at Old Street went out of their way to rearrange tables and fit us in on short notice and totally saved the day. So many great restaurants in the area, not worth risking a let down here.
We have been coming here for over 10 years. I have always thought it was one of the best restaurants in London. The restaurant has been closed for refurbishment recently so we were excited when it reopened. When we sat down at the bar to order tapas, the barman told us that the restaurant had been bought by VICE magazine. VICE are good at cutting edge journalism. They are not very good at cooking. The squid we ordered was frozen rather than fresh, unseasoned and served with raw onion - practically inedible. The bread with tomato and garlic came in deconstructed form and was disappointing. The food is nowhere near as good as it was which is a real shame given how good it used to be.
