Fifth visit over the past few years and the food remains consistently excellent every time. Love the tasting menu format where staple favorites stay on with clever new twists while the rest of the menu rotates seasonally. The Wagyu, lobster, and caviar dish is ridiculously decadent and worth every penny – lobster topped with caviar in a wagyu sauce is about as indulgent as it gets. Service is impeccable and genuinely attentive; they even popped to Adam Handling's chocolate shop around the corner to grab me some chocolates, and the staff are brilliant at timing their dish presentations around your conversation flow rather than interrupting. Only minor disappointment was the sweetie box/hamper from last year is no longer on the menu, but hoping they might bring it back with the new chocolates!
A ture Michelin experience. From start to finish, everything was stellar. Cannot wait for their next menu!!!
You definitely are in for a treat. Had the 7 courses tasting menu. This meant, though, the 7 courses start coming once you have already had a whole lot of starters to begin with. The actual menu only came to the table once we were done with the starters, so at some point, after the sixth starter we thought it was about to finish when in reality it had not started yet! Bit of a strange sensation to be honest. The reality is you will leave the restaurant having had enough food (and wine if you also go for the pairing!) but I thought this could have been better explained (maybe it was however our whole party missed to understand it ?). On the food side of things, I have to admit pretty much everything was just delicious, with very, very, few “buts”. One of them being, maybe, the twist on the Walkers crisp, which was maybe not needed (tasted exactly like one). The staff were generally nice and attentive, however, I feel like they should better read the room. We went for the wine tasting and felt like the explanation for each of the wines we had was way too long, specially as the night went on and we became “happier”. I understand if you are a big connoisseur you may appreciate it, but it was certainly not the case. The waiter banter was also a bit off, and definitely not landing the way it was intended. These critics are, again, being picky, coming out of a meal worth £400+ per cover, but overall the whole experience was just great and I would not be hesitant on recommending it.
I tried the full tasting menu and it was an exceptional experience. Each down was crafted beautifully yet packed with incredible depth of flavours. The standout for me was the chicken sandwich (yes, even in a Michelin-starred restaurant, it was that good.) The service was impeccable with attentive and knowledgeable staffs enhancing the dining experience. As a luxury one-Michelin-starred restaurant in central London, it’s certainly pricey, but absolutely worth it for a special occasion or if you’re looking to treat yourself to something truly memorable.
Lunch tasting menu. Holly smoke. I’m really speechless. Highly recommended. Let me just tell you that: you will never, ever, guess what the feather in the duck dish (picture attached) is made of. You will be amazed. Enjoy!
I was there to celebrate my wedding anniversary. My husband and I had the best time. The food was spectacular and the service was top notch. Every dishes was more special and tasted so amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. The little card was such a thoughtful gift. At the end of our meal, we were given a Madeleine for the road but of course it was gone in a flash.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to hands down! Unbelievable experience and the food is absolutely spot on! I’d put my money on Adam getting a second star next year or the year after for sure! I love the ethos of British sourced foods and very little wastage! It definitely helps create some incredibly interesting dishes that are full of flavour!
Had dinner with my wife at Frog a couple nights ago and everything was fantastic. All the courses were excellent and really creative. The presentation and plating of the dishes were excellent! Some of the ingredients used were to be expected, but some were really adventurous in keeping with Adam’s commitment to no food waste. Come here with an empty stomach as you will leave very full, the food just kept coming! The service throughout the evening was great. The environment of the restaurant was awesome, especially the open kitchen, what a cool touch! We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun night out with adventurous food mixed in with some staples.
Gorgeous, intimate restaurant nestled behind Covent Garden market. Went for a tasting menu lunch which was excellent. The soft lighting, intimate feel (there are n’t many tables) and background mood music set the stage for a memorable six course lunch. The food was expertly crafted, well presented and delightful, the accompanying wines were well chosen and the service was top notch. Special mention to Adele who served us and was a font of wisdom - a hat tip to the whole team for a memorable experience. The restaurant is very cosy and 3 hours went by quickly 😃
Absolutely amazing meal here! Food was incredible, wine was great and the team were magnificent. Shout out to Hubert, Harry and Noami (sorry about the spelling!!) who all made our experience amazing. P.S get the supplement dishes; highlights of the meal for sure
The tasting menu was absolutely brilliant, everything complemented each other really well and each dish was prepared to perfection. I would give 6 stars to the food if I could. The service I think could have been better… No one explained the concept of the menu to us (the purpose of the map), we were only told about what was in each dish as it was brought out so it did make the experience less special. I did catch the waiters explaining the concept to other tables though. I also let the front desk know about any food preferences or allergies at the time of booking, but the information didn’t seem to have been relayed back. Nonetheless, I would come back just for the food
An exceptional fine dining experience at The Frog in Covent Garden. The extensive tasting menu of 13-15 courses (it was that much that I don’t remember 😃) some photos attached. It was thoughtfully paired with about 7 different wines, creating a memorable culinary journey. Each dish demonstrated precise execution and creativity, while the wine pairings complemented the courses perfectly. Though securing a reservation requires planning ahead (approximately 2 months in advance), the wait is absolutely worth it. This is truly a special occasion restaurant that delivers a remarkable dining experience. Tip for future diners: Be sure to plan well in advance for your reservation. The restaurant's popularity is a testament to its quality. Highly recommend! Thank you Adam Handling!
Wonderful dining experience by former Masterchef finalist. The Michelin 1* menu is quite different and innovative compared with other Michelin restaurants, which tend to have a more classic menu. Really liked the concept of the dining experience and would definitely return when the menu changes. The menu is about sustainability and using every piece of ingredient where possible. The palette cleanser was very interesting with basil ice cream and there are many hidden gems which pop out, literally, all the time...the menu is inscripted on a plate!
I treated myself to an unforgettable 8-course tasting menu !! it was a true culinary journey. And if you're thinking of going solo : do it !! The staff is beyond amazing, the service is top-tier, and they make you feel completely welcome. Perfect spot to celebrate yourself. Huge thanks to the whole team for making it so special
We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and our experience could not have gone better... WOW! We chose to have the counter experience and watched Kris lead his brigade with passion and brilliance. We loved every moment... Nadia choosing our wine for each course which was just exquisite, Harry as the Restaurant Manager fixing my husbands broken glasses with Superglue, nothing was too much trouble. The menu was layered so well, beautiful to look at, and the theatre was adventurous and exceptional. We have been lucky enough to have enjoyed some quality food with some great service and this was simply another level. Anybody that creates the idea of putting seaweed custard, caviar and bone marrow broth together where you just want to devour every mouthful is just clearly a genius! We chose not to eat for the rest of the day with our tastebuds tingling from our experience at Frog, we will be back and thank you.
Amazing experience from start to finish. They were able to accommodate gluten free for my husband and nut free for my daughter without sacrificing on quality, taste, or presentation. Fantastic service. We loved every bite and left with happy, full bellies. We were pleasantly surprised by some food presentations but won’t spoil the secret- you have to find out for yourself. Food was fresh, seasonal, and delicious. Service was impeccable. Highly recommended!!
The ambiance is a mixture of peaceful and energetic. The service is impeccable and the food is creative and delicious. Each bite is well balanced and perfectly plated. Who knew that parsley ice cream and hibiscus syrup would be so good? Well done chef!
We were gifted the tasting menu and wine pairing. This was one of my favourite tasting menus of a handful that I’ve tried. The story and the journey really add to the experience and all the dishes were excellent. The pre-dessert is out of this world and the caviar dish was worth every penny. The service was also just excellent. Very personable and not snooty at all. We were looked after by Giuseppe in the booking stages and the team on the night also worked to make sure we felt looked after. Frog surpassed our expectations and I would love to return.
Came in a rainy evening and warmly greeted upon arrival. We had a table with great view on the open kitchen. Really liked their chicken sandwich. Some dishes somehow tended to be a little salty for my taste bud.
As you would expect from a Michelin restaurant - stunning food, attentive service and relaxed surroundings. We had the lunch menu and whilst it is shorter than the full tasting menu you are not left disappointed - it is excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Visited Frog for a special occasion. We had the full tasting menu with the classic wine pairing and also opted for both of the optional course on the day. The food was some of the tastiest I have had in London however it was the overall service and experience that I would recommend foremost. We have had several disappointing experiences in similar London restaurants where the service was lacking and felt like a revolving door with no attempt at any personal touches which isn’t good enough at this price point, that’s where Frog felt totally on point. There are lots of tasting menu options in London when it comes to great food but none have rivalled the all round experience we had at Frog.
Everything was amazing from start to finish. Would highly recommend!! The staff were all fantastic and super knowledgeable. The sommelier was very helpful as well. The card for our anniversary was a lovely touch and now I want to collect all the occasion cards (lol). The kitchen staff were also excellent and the food was unforgettable. I wish I could’ve take the rest of the bread and chicken butter home. 🙃 Also the cutlery and plates were super cool (especially the tiny spoons).
One of many lovely visits to The Frog by Adam Handling but our first for lunch in London . It is definitely far more relaxed for lunch as there is just one seating. Reading reviews from people who have been in the evening the issue of feeling very rushed still remains. We were celebrating our anniversary and this was acknowledged by the staff and we were made to feel very welcome. We opted for a classic wine pairing which was perfect and delicious. We were very impressed by the Sommelier who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The only thing that would have helped is to understand that this essentially starts two courses in with the first of the main dishes. I guess this is obvious when you think about it, but had we thought about it we probably would’ve asked for a glass of wine so we weren’t just on the water for so long! All of the food is beautifully presented with superb attention to detail. We also felt it was perfectly seasoned and flavour profiles and textures were excellent. The “snacks” were mixed - for example, the tuna was beautiful delicate and delicious but the ‘ cigars’ were only partially filled. We didn’t opt for the extra courses as the food is plentiful even though each plate is quite small (as they should be if you wish to taste a number of different things). Personally, not a fan of the Madeleine‘s at the end with the cream and jam but my husband was very happy as he benefited from this! Personally, I prefer some lovely cheese and artisan biscuits. The stand out course for us both was the cherries and chocolate- divine ❤️It’s important to note that there is no choice for the lunch menu so it is imperative to state any strong preferences or food intolerance up front. The chefs have always accommodated these perfectly. We have visited a number of The Frog establishments and our absolute favourite is The Ugly Butterfly although , we have yet to visit in its new new location, but we shall be soon. Thank you for a lovely celebration.
Cute restaurant in the heart of London. The staff provide excellent service and the food is worth the price for sure. Well deserving of their years with a michelin for sure. Here are some photos (not of all courses), apologies for the quality - afraid my phone camera is not the best. The restaurant was much brighter than the pictures appear
Y'all. I know fine dining, I love fine dining. This was the absolute most transcendent meal I have ever had. Every course was better than the last. The staff was so kind, even finding me a lady cab driver at the end of the day. Just go. Don't question it, just go. And get the lobster with wagyu fat and caviar because it's the stupidest, most should be illegal thing I've ever had in my entire life.
Perfection. 28th birthday dinner for our son. Very happy he chose this restaurant. Ambience and service were beautiful. The tasting menu and wine recommendations sensational. The pictures say it all. If you fancy fine dining at its very best, try Frog. ♡♡♡
First experience at The Frog and I was not disappointed. From the moment you walk through the door, the warm welcome instantly builds anticipation for what’s to come. The restaurant has a London vibe, modern, stylish, and full of personality. The open kitchen feels like a theatre, the chefs the actors, and the food the performance. One of my favourite details is the menu: presented as a map of the UK showing where each ingredient originates. It adds a layer of mystery to the meal before it even begins. And the food… absolutely spot-on. A true talent of a great restaurant is to make you enjoy ingredients you normally might avoid and even make you say wow. That was exactly my reaction to the eel on toast. The Parker House bread was fantastic, and the liver-butter flower was almost too beautiful to slice into. The lobster and the red mullet also deserve special mention; both excellent. Of course, a restaurant is nothing without great service, and Lorenzo’s team operates like clockwork. Every detail is noticed. Even my napkin lightly stained after wiping my mouth with joy, was discreetly replaced while I stepped away for a moment. This was my first visit, but certainly not my last. Highly recommended.
A fabulous experience. The service is impeccable with the staff accurately assessing the level of engagement required by the party. There was a good connection across the staff with most having been long timers. It was wonderful to be able to see into the kitchen and seeing the plates being finalized. The wine selection is extensive and the sommelier was a star!
What a fabulous evening we had. The warm and friendly welcome immediately made us feel comfortable. We opted for the tasting menu, plus the Classic wine pairings. Food presentation just oozed excellence and the flavours were exceptional. The whole team was attentive without being intrusive. Their knowledge and informative dialogue throughout our meal just added to the evening. We left Frog extremely happy and with our hunger truly satisfied.
I had an amazing night. I felt welcome and taken care of the moment I walked in. I sat at the counter. Because I love watching the chefs and they did an amazing job. So calm. So concentrated. The food they sent out was perfect. The tasting menu gave me so many different foods. And I loved that the Michelin Star food felt so personal and homely. When the staff tells so you to spoon the gravy with the bread you are in the right place 😊 A Michelin star restaurant where you can your fingers dirty, And the wine pairing. Perfect. The sommelier knows what he is doing. Just listening to him makes your evening. Thanks to the whole team for a perfect night.
Incredible! Possibly the best Michelin restaurant experience I have ever had. Adam is a genius and his team execute to perfection.
Frog by Adam Handling is one of those rare restaurant experiences that truly leaves you speechless. A rare perfect experience. The service was friendly but attentive and professional - everything it should be. The dining room itself had good energy and niche decor which I found very suitable. More importantly, the food from start to finish was just breathtaking. It was personal, innovative, clever, and most importantly, bloody delicious. This is three star cooking not one star cooking.
Terrific food, things I’ve never had before or thought of eating together. The staff were friendly, professional and on the most part, attentive. We had a couple of issues with missed requests, but it didn’t detract from the experience. Overall, great food, staff and ambience. Defo worth visiting for a special occasion or if you like fine dining. Good value as well
Wow, had one of the best meals of my life today at Frog. Every dish was better than the last. All of the flavors were so bright and clean. Playing was gorgeous. Service was impeccable! Can’t wait to return.
Well deserved Michelin star. Beautiful presentation, quick service, giant fresh brio bread and all materials sourced in the UK.
Simply devine, the food, the wine, the service and the atmosphere were exactly as we’d hoped. It was my wife’s 50th and the edible candle the team also provided perfectly finished what was a night to remember
We went here on a Thursday lunchtime for the lunch tasting menu as a birthday treat for my husband. We were shown to our table and given the wine list whilst the server showed us some options for champagne, myself had some fizz whilst the husband had a glass of red wine. The food was sensational. Each course was brought to us with a description of what the dish was and the inspiration behind the dish. We had 5 courses and each got better and better! The lamb main courses and strawberry desert were a highlight for me. My husband went for the extra cheese course, which he said was outstanding. The truffle honey was deliecious . 100% recommend this restaurant, friendly service, and an amazing experience. I can't wait to return!
Well, that was a stellar lunch! I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with a tasting menu, as they can sometimes be too little food, too much about the chefs theatre etc, but the Frog absolutely nailed this in every aspect: Firstly, one of our party was caught up in a tube incident and was over an hour late - the restaurant were so relaxed about this and at no point pressured us or rushed us, kudos. Secondly the food: utterly, utterly sublime. I wracked my brains at the end to pick out a single fault and there wasn't one, the food and the service were some of the best I've had, ever. The warm brioche with the chicken liver parfait: dear god inject that into my veins. Every single dish was utterly amazing, wonderfully presented and something I'd gleefully eat again. Wonderful service too, professional but chill...nothing in your face, just discreet and on point. This is absolutely one of the best meals I've had in the UK, go there if you get the chance. Obvs it's pricey, but totally worth every penny. I'm definitely coming back 🎉
We celebrated my mum's birthday here on Friday and it was an absolutely incredible and magical experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful and calm. The food was some of the best I have ever had which was additionally enhanced by the subtle complexity of the wine pairing. Thank you to Jordan for a great wine pairing and Noemi for fantastic service.
Went here for Christmas date with my wife and we had the 5 course tasting menu. Overall food was pretty good, the standout dish was the fish, served with finger lime and grapes, it was probably the best fish dish I’ve had this year. Very well balanced where all the flavours complimented each other and had a variety of textures on one plate. Also loved the chocolate sour petit four, their chicken butter and the cream soda non-alcoholic drink. Only scored the food a 4/5 because I was a bit disappointed with a few of the starters namely the cheese and onion crisp and the chicken sandwich. Although these tasted nice, and it’s difficult to make these nicer, I didn’t go to a Michelin star restaurant to eat something that tastes like a bag of walkers or a chicken sandwich. Service I scored a 5 because all of the staff were attentive, asking if we needed more drinks whenever we were low. The only improvement I’d recommend here is that they make it clear that the lunch menu was available at lunch time too. When you arrive, you only have a card with the full tasting menu on, and the server only talks about that which makes you assume that’s all that is available, it’s a bit cheeky that you have to ask for it. Never experienced it in any other Michelin star restaurant in the world. Anyway, overall a good dining experience.
From the moment I made the reservation to finalizing the details and enjoying a pre-dinner drink at the bar, everything was seamless. The food was simply outstanding - every bite worth it. Each course showcased a new level of creativity and technique, and it was nice to watch the chefs working their magic course by course. My absolutely favorites - the Pigeon with beetroot and black truffles and the Madeleines. That said, the atmosphere at the front of the house felt a bit off. There seemed to be some tension between the service team and the kitchen, and the vibe of some members of the service team was lacking warmth and genuineness. I would definitely go back for the food.
Very good. We had the tasting menu and spent more than we expected to. The lobster dish would have been nicer as two portions. The steak with mushroom was lovely and so were the other courses.
We revisited Frog by Adam Handling after eight years, this time celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday. We’d previously enjoyed the private dining room downstairs, but for this occasion we chose the main dining space upstairs. We opted for the lunch menu, which began with three amuse-bouches, followed by Parker House bread and butter, a fish course, a duck course, dessert, and petits fours. One of the highlights is that you can bring your own wine at lunch with no corkage fee (though there is one at dinner). The interior is vibrant, with an open-plan kitchen, bench-style seating, and bold artwork—including modern takes on portraits of the late Queen and the current King. We sat at a circular table near the window with its striking white rubber surface. Amuse-bouches • Tuna & herbs: a delicate pastry cup filled with tuna and topped with bright herbs. • Crab, green chilli, buckwheat: a crisp cylindrical shell filled with white and brown crab meat, subtly spiced. • Chicken & egg: crispy chicken skin served inside an egg—imaginative and delicious. Bread & butter The Parker House bread was warm and beautifully presented in a tear-apart loaf. The standout, though, was the butter: chicken skin butter with a rich chicken parfait centre, elegantly shaped like a rose. Palate cleanser A cucumber tea served between courses was refreshing but fairly simple compared to the other dishes. Fish course Cod with courgette and smoked fish elements. The presentation was stunning, with courgette prepared in several ways. However, the portion of cod itself was surprisingly small. Meat course Merrifield duck with apricot and cobnuts. The sauce was superb, though the duck portion was again on the small side. Dessert Verbena, Earl Grey, and peach—a beautifully balanced dessert that was tart, sweet, slightly sour, and visually elegant. Petits fours A seeded madeleine served with cream and raspberry jam. Pleasant, though not as memorable as the other courses. Service & atmosphere The service was warm, attentive, and interactive throughout. Adam Handling wasn’t in the kitchen during our visit but did make an appearance in the dining room, as his family was also dining there. Afterwards, we noted that the cocktail bar Eve, located downstairs, opens at 4pm—a stylish spot to continue the afternoon with drinks.
Delicious food, fantastic staff, great atmosphere. Beautiful bread, scrumptious Negroni’s. Well done chaps.
Like the main dish only. Service is warm but a bit awkward, too many times of same question asked by different staffs. There is an ant or insect crawling inside the canepe mussels dish’s plate case, and it was alive.
Every dish was presented beautifully, but the taste and flavour fell short of expectations. Service was strange, judging and asking if we’d been fine dining before as if to imply we don’t look like we belong. When we asked for drink recommendations, the waitress clammed up and got quite awkward. Our drink order was messed up, and we didn’t get so much as an apology. Personally, not worth the money
Service was excellent 👌 Food was amazing😊 Dessert was not on same level ,a bit disappointed with that. Cocktails was honestly ridiculous, water glass and 20mil of lemonade “cocktail” (need improvement Asap. First starter looks outstanding, but than following courses didn’t meet the same standard. Need improvement for miseline star restaurant. Lovely staff and very professional. Kind and friendly, charming people.
I've had mixed feelings at the Frog. First of all it's very pricey for a one-star restaurant. Maybe these are London prices but for that price I would have expected more. The food is excellent, don't get me wrong ! The wine was very pricey and honestly not that amazing. My biggest issue is with the atmosphere and the service. Way too casual for my taste and for what I expect of a 1 star Michelin experience. I almost contacted Michelin to ask how they could award their star with that experience. The room is very open hence so is the service. As a result you have a constant ballet of people going around from table to table. Our server was an amazing young lady who was smiling and very nice the entire meal but others were way too casual. To summarize : the food was great but overall not at the expected level for the price.
Food was all nice before the main dish. Main was tiny and didn't feel like the finale of the savory courses. I ordered the tasting menu with an extra lobster dish (menu price £199+£35), the extra dish turned out to be the only proper sized course. I ranked the service very poor as I ordered green tea sencha in the end, but the server wrongly served me coconut and mango flavoured and scented tea. The scent was so strong and obvious that they served wrong tea to the table, and when I raised it to the server, he camer back with the tea leaf insisting it was sencha, but clearly the leaves had other substances mixed and with strong aromatics even dry. I sent him again to find out what the white and yellow flakes were and he came back again, without being apologetic, saying the label was really sencha. The second server offered to change the tea or other non-alcoholic drinks, but I didn't take it. First their non-alcoholic beverage was no good at all and I had no interest to have another drink. Second they didn't have a tea menu and their server had no idea about the basic about black tea and green tea. I didn't see staying in a overpriced mediocre restaurant an option. Well, not again.
Food was just ok overall the restaurant, did not meet the expectations. Some dishes were good, others not so good. No dish was outstanding. Favourites were the bread/chicken butter and the lobster. Cheese based dishes, and the dessert in particular were disappointing. Was also expecting more food, despite getting both extra courses (which we did share), still had room for more. No complaints about the service, everyone was very nice and accommodating throughout. Not sure if its the new menu which didn't click with us, or a bad night, but will not be returning.
