I love Kin café for brunch, i've been visiting a few times over the past year. Food is veggie and lovely, they can also accommodate vegans for any meals. Staff is always very attentive as well. It can get quiet loud inside during peak times, looking forward to the nicer weather as they have some tables outside as well. Due to the size, it's best for party of 2/3 people.
Everything was perfect — we had pasta, aubergine, and the pistachio–avocado mousse. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. All the dishes were created by reinterpreting vegetables in different ways, and if you have halal food sensitivities when eating out, this place is a great alternative. The portions were very generous. The staff were extremely polite and even spoke Turkish, which made us feel very well taken care of. Thank you 🌸
I must admit that when I saw how quiet KIN was compared to the other restaurants nearby, I regretted my reservation. However I definitely should not have. My starter (house style aubergine) was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant, and the others in my group also thoroughly enjoyed theirs (croquettes and corn soup). The service was extremely understanding and helpful when I told them about my nut allergy and brought me a different menu. For my main I chose the truffle rosso pasta due to my allergy. The sauce was quite nice - my complaint would be that the pasta was slightly too soft and was falling apart which was likely due to its being gluten free so I understand that was probably unavoidable. The portions were huge so unfortunately I had no space for dessert, but my companions said the black forest tart was fantastic. Highly recommend KIN; favourite dishes were the aubergine and corn soup small plates.
Excellent. The food was just incredible, packed with flavour, perfectly cooked and you’d have no idea it was vegan or gluten free. The croquettes were crunchy, the sticky tofu was epic and the truffle pasta was to die for. Cannot recommend enough ! The server was really kind and even went and checked the ingredients of a dish so i could recreate it at home. I hope they bring out a recipe book one day !
The Kin Cafe & Restaurant: A Harmonious Blend of Flavor and Welcome My recent visit to The Kin Cafe & Restaurant left me feeling nourished in more ways than one. The atmosphere struck a delightful chord – a good ambience that felt both inviting and tranquil. We chose to sit indoors, appreciating the thoughtfully designed space, but noted the equally appealing outdoor seating area, promising a lovely option for warmer days. Much like its name suggests, The Kin seems to foster a sense of community and well-being, reflected beautifully in its healthy yet tasty vegetarian menu. It's a joy to discover dishes that don't compromise on flavour in their pursuit of nourishment. Each plate was a testament to fresh ingredients and creative culinary ideas. The vibrant colours and enticing aromas were just a prelude to the deliciousness that followed. It's a menu that caters to both the health-conscious and those simply seeking a satisfying and flavourful meal. The warmth extended beyond the decor and food, thanks to the friendly staff. From the moment we were greeted to the time we paid our bill, the service was attentive, genuine, and helpful. They were happy to answer questions about the menu and offered a level of care that truly enhanced the dining experience. The only minor discord in an otherwise harmonious experience was the scan and pay system which included a platform fee. While the convenience of paying via a scan is appreciated, the added charge felt a little like an unexpected note at the end of a pleasant melody.
A Hidden Gem – The Best Food in London! Kin Restaurant is hands-down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in London. The food is absolutely phenomenal – bursting with authentic Thai flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and fresh ingredients. Every dish feels like it was made with heart. The service is warm and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy yet modern, making it perfect for a casual lunch or a relaxed evening out. Whether you’re craving a rich green curry, perfectly crisp spring rolls, or the best pad Thai in the city – Kin delivers every time. This place is a true gem. If you’re in London and love great food, Kin should be at the top of your list.
My new favorite place—without question! This hidden gem completely blew me away. It’s small, quiet, and effortlessly cozy, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The service? Absolutely superb—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The matcha was hands down the best I’ve had in London, but the real star was the food. Every bite was packed with incredible flavor—perfectly balanced, never too much, never too little—just right. They truly nailed it! I’ll definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for a spot that feels special, this is it.
I visited KIN Cafe a couple of months ago and was so impressed with the brunch that I made a point to return on my next trip to London. Unfortunately, the cafe was closed for a meeting about their upcoming refurbishment, but I was kindly directed to KIN Restaurant right next door. They are run by the same group, but the menus are completely different. The restaurant itself is quite intimate with lovely, cosy decor. It did get a bit cramped and noisy during the lunch rush, but the staff remained incredibly attentive and friendly. I opted for the Mongolian Mushroom and Broccoli, served with Japanese rice. The presentation was exquisite! The portion size was decent—not massive, but satisfying. I loved the combination of oyster mushrooms and broccoli, beautifully garnished with red peppers and angel hair chilli. The Mongolian sauce was a tad on the salty side for my palate, but it balanced out well when eaten with the rice. Overall, it was a flavourful and enjoyable lunch. That said, I think I still prefer the lighter brunch options at KIN Cafe. I'll definitely be back once their renovations are done!
First time eating at KIN restaurant. Definitely worth it! The place was basically full, but the service never lacked at any point. The server was always extremely attentive, as soon as our water or drinks were near empty he would make sure to automatically bring more. The vibes in there are wonderful. Feels like a michelin star restaurant without the prices 😂 Onto the food - as you can tell from the pics, the presentation was awesome. The food tasted even better than it looked! The Tofu starter had a wonderful texture and the sauce complimented it really well, the Pistachio pasta was actually sublime and the portion size was huge, really filling! All the desserts were absolutely great, too! Even the cocktails that we tried were all fantastic. All 3 of us were really happy with the meal but the genuine cherry on top was how great the service was. Very friendly and attentive team and I really look forward to my next meal at KIN.
Delicious and nutritious vegan food. Generous portions and friendly and attentive staff. Nice vibe inside and outside, though was a bit cramped and could do with some cushions and blankets to make it even cozier and more comfy 🙏🏼 had the vegan hash this time though it was difficult to decide and the freshly made salads always look amazing 🤩 good coffee too! Will definitely be visiting again on my next trip 👌✨
The most AMAZING pancakes in London (and — they’re gluten free + vegan!) KIN is the most wonderful, ambient environment with seriously the tastiest pancakes you’ll find around. Harvey is the loveliest and most generous owner, who makes every visit feel so special (so do all the brilliant staff here). Could not recommend more. :)
Everything we got was excellent. The matcha latte with almond milk was frothed creamy. The lentil soup was deliciously flavorful and somewhat reminiscent of curry, which paired well with their gluten-free bread. The KIN Hash was full of vegetables and paired well with a side of tofu, all of which was also sooooo flavorful. The halloumi on the hash was salty and grilled to perfection. Plus, the atmosphere is super cute and the employees are very personable (without being overly chatty or exhausting). I wish I could give this place more stars.
This food was absolutely delicious. The dishes were some of the best vegetable focused (rather than imitation meat) dishes I’ve had and is probably one of my favourite vegan restaurants I’ve been to in London. The staff were incredibly friendly and the interior was nice. Their chai latte was also great which is hard to find in London. Would highly recommend.
The food here is exceptional! The food was delicious as well as beautifully presented. The main dishes were a good size - I loved my miso aubergine which was rich and filling. Service was very good. The restaurant was not very busy at 2pm on a weekday so our server gave us the choice of where to sit and even pulled an extra table over to give us more space. I was so impressed. We will return!
Absolutely amazed by Kin! ✨ The service was honestly out of this world — easily some of the best I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. The team really went above and beyond and made the whole experience feel so special. The food? Faultless. We ended up ordering almost everything on the menu (no regrets 😂) and it’s definitely a place made for sharing plates. We tried the truffle arancini and croquettes to start, then went for the sticky glazed tofu, house-style aubergine, katsu curry, courgette & pistachio spaghetti, and the falafel plate — every single dish was incredible. And coming from a non-veg… that says a lot. Everything was so flavourful. I’ve been to a few plant-based restaurants before, but nothing quite like Kin. Such a standout spot — would 100% recommend 🤍
Went for breakfast, and really enjoyed it. Lots of lovely flavours, good portion and a nice coffee too.
If I were stranded on a desert island with three wishes, this croissant would be one of them. Lovely service and staff. I make a point to try as many vegan cafes as I can when traveling and Kin is up there update: dinner was as good as breakfast - vegan burrata on the courgette spaghetti was craaazzyyy good. third update: we visited for brunch, which again they knocked out of the park. highly recommend the waffles and breakfast hash.
An Absolute Gem: Ken Cafe & Restaurant! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Ken Cafe and Restaurant, and it was a truly fantastic experience from start to finish. This place is an absolute gem, and it's easy to see why it has such a loyal following. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic, making us feel right at home. The decor is charming and cozy, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. But the real star of the show is, of course, the food. The menu offers a wonderful variety, with something to satisfy every craving. We were particularly impressed with the fresh ingredients and the obvious care that goes into every dish. Each plate was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality was top-notch—a perfect combination of comfort food and culinary excellence. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee and a delicious pastry, a hearty lunch, or a celebratory dinner, Ken Cafe delivers on all fronts. We left feeling completely satisfied and already talking about our next visit. If you're in the area and looking for a fantastic meal with great service and a lovely ambiance, do yourself a favor and visit Ken Cafe. You won't be disappointed!
Went there for a friends birthday who’s on the vegan/vegetarian side of things and it was a great success! The staff was really friendly and were able to light a candle for the dessert and help serenade a beautiful happy birthday. Impressive! The sticky cashew tofu was an ace and the ambiance of the restaurant crowded tho very cozy. Will definitely come back.
We Visited here on a Friday evening for dinner, make sure to book in advance as it’s only a very small restaurant and limited seating. The service was great and very friendly. For starters we had the sticky cashew tofu & broad bean croquettes which were delicious. For main we had the courgette and pistachio spaghetti and miso glazed aubergine which were also amazing. We then ended on a sweet treat. It was a lovely meal and the service was perfect, the only thing I would say is because it’s so small you do bump into other people when trying to move around so can feel quite cramped.
Amazing service by all the waiters this evening, with very delicious food and deserts. We ordered the risotto, bean croquettes, spaghetti, cheesecake and fondant. I’d recommend the croquettes, spaghetti, and fondant. Quite a small restaurant but beautifully decorated and very romantic. Saw lots of other people’s dishes and were very jealous so will be returning to try more dishes!
Have been coming to KIN for over 3 years and we will be coming here forever! Phenomenal food, fantastic service and just overall good vibes. P.s. the chickpea & tofu curry is the BOMB!
Cute restaurant with a nice ambiance. The food was great! Every single dish was delicious.
We sat out in the street on a lovely summer evening and had such a delicious meal! The waitress was so so nice! The servings were so generous, and I had to take home excess in a box!
Stumbled across this place on a Saturday late morning looking for a place for brunch. Food, service and vibe all ticked the box. Gluten free bread/options available and clearly marked on the menu! Would recommend
Truly exceptional. Had to order more. Best veggie restaurant I’ve tried in London (or anywhere)
Great food and service. Would visited again. Didn't get many photos of the food but every dish was delicious. The butternut squash soup starter, falafel main, and desserts!
Loved this place! All the dishes we ordered were very tasty and innovative. But the cherry on the top was our waitress Shiva. She is incredibly kind and was very knowledgeable on all the dishes. My friend is celiac and Shiva was able to give her details about all the dishes and which elements included gluten in the options that could be made gluten free on requests. Large offer of gluten free options too!
Easily one of the best brunches I have ever had with possibly the tastiest crispy tofu I have tried. I ordered the KIN breakfast with tofu instead of eggs and my taste buds had a blast. The meal was well presented and substantial, coffee strong, dark roasted. I enjoyed the modern, comfortable interior, though the cafe is small and when busy it might feel slightly cramped. The staff were lovely and helpful, prices reasonable for the location. I’m definitely saving this cafe for next time :)
Kin is located on a quiet street, just north of Oxford Street, so it is a good location but just far away enough from the hustle and bustle. We went for a meal on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was full, with some patrons sat outside, even in December! The restaurant is quite compact and cosy, with very dim lighting (I could hardly see the menu), but the atmosphere is pleasant. There were quite a few staff but it did take a while to get our order taken. We had a couple of cocktails (Negroni), which were very good, with a pleasant kick. For starters we had pumpkin soup and sticky cashew tofu. Both were very good - tasty and well presented. For main course, we had miso-glazed aubergine and a festive bake. Both were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Portion sizes were just right. We didn’t go for dessert, but there were a number of tempting choices. Overall, I would recommend Kin. The menu is entirely vegan, but as a vegetarian myself, I still found the food wholesome and tasty. We will definitely visit again.
Tried this place out this evening with veggie friends. So good! Delicious, inventive plates of various sizes. We shared some and had some to ourselves. Highlights were the lovely really fresh pasta, tasty miso aubergine and broad bean croquettes. Plus friendly efficient professional service. We will definitely be back.
Great place - food was insanely good, I had a tofu katsu curry which was dreamy. Staff were v friendly, our waiter chatted about the food with us for a few mins when we'd finished. Looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu.
Food was outstanding! Flavours popping, presentation on point. Every meal cooked to perfection. (Starters: Croquettes & sticky tofu. Mains: pistachio spaghetti & oyster mushrooms) Tom's Service was exceptional. Kitchen a little slow with the main. Cosy place to eat. Highly recommend for vegan dining. (To vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters)
The menu options were very creative and we really enjoyed the flavours we tasted during our dinner! The atmosphere was great as well, as the interior is adorable and cosy. The only issue was the size of the portions which tended towards a smaller size, especially for the gnocchi dish and the avocado key lime cheesecake.
I enjoyed my dinner at Kin. At the beginning, the service was slow, maybe because there was no clarity who was responsible for our table. So it took a while for us to have the menu and then our order taken. But after that the service went smooth. Our server was very friendly. The food was nice. Depending on the plate, the portion can be quite small. For someone with a big appetite, this should be noted. I booked the table using theFork and used their current offer (so the price average I selected is with the discount).
The food tasted good and I loved the presentation. The service was quick, it did not take long for the food to arrive to our table. A nice cozy restaurant, the tables are a bit close. We ordered 4 dishes: The croquettes, the falafel, the cauliflower steak, and the courgette spaghetti. All the dishes were tasty. I loved the courgette spaghetti.
The food here is amazing. The dishes are all either vegetarian or vegan. Whilst I'm neither I happily had the food and didn't miss having a meat option. We had olives (really, really good which had some confit tomato shreds and small pieces of pickled onion with it) broad bean croquettes followed by the falafel. All were really good, with a decent crunch and not oily or too dry. There are some minor gripes though. When we arrived the restaurant was being used for a film shoot. Our booking was for 12 and we arrived only a few (less than 5) minutes early. As filming was still going on we were ushered out of the restaurant and asked to wait. A manager subsequently said we could go back in but it didn't make us feel very valued from the outset. To add insult to injury once seated a large group came in and we were asked to move to the other side of the restaurant so that the large group could sit all together. As a restaurant you should know what your bookings are and assign tables accordingly. Whilst the waiter and other serving staff were perfectly pleasant and the food came quickly enough there was no following up after our initial order, checking if things were ok etc. Whilst we were too full for desert and didn't really want a coffee it would have been nice to have been asked. As it was a meal for my wife's birthday it was a bit of a shame as this combined with the debacle with the filming and seating took the shine of what could have been a wonderful meal - hence four rather than five stars. The food quality was excellent, so despite the gripes I would recommend a visit to either the restaurant or the cafe.
The food at Kin Cafe was average as there was no much taste and it was served cold which is not great for grilled halloumi, scrambled eggs etc. The chai latte was nice. The staff were very polite but the manager/entrance guy was in some panic mode as he probably couldn't handle the fact that the place was busy. So even if we had a reservation for 3 they put us in a tiny table that was clearly for 2 only to be able to fit the walk ins too.
Brunch was delicious. However, after we finished eating and now referring back to the menus, just noticed that there were a few items missing in both plates and we were not told proactively why they were missing. Photos attached. Shakshuka: missing avocado KIN Hash: missing halloumi Feels a bit scammed and a let down by the original positive experience
★★★½ Me and my partner visited KIN on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was buzzing. Even in mid-December, every outdoor table was full. Thankfully we had booked ahead and were seated a few minutes early without any issues. The ambience was one of the first things that stood out. The candlelit tables made the space feel warm and inviting. The only drawback was the layout, which felt slightly cramped, with diners having to squeeze past each other to get in and out. Once seated though, it was comfortable enough. We started with the Broad Bean Croquettes, served on a bed of butter bean and dill cream. These were genuinely lovely, crispy on the outside and paired perfectly with the fresh, fragrant dill cream that lifted the dish. For our mains, I opted for the Falafel Plate, which came with herb-infused falafel, a mango dip, salad, and mini pita. The falafel itself was excellent, and the mango dip was a great, bright contrast. The “fresh salad” was a little disappointing, as it was entirely frisée, and it took up a surprising amount of the plate, but the balsamic dressing at least added some flavour. I would have liked to see a little bit more variety of lettuce to make up the salad. My partner enjoyed the Miso-Glazed Aubergine, which was served with a smooth cauliflower purée and was cooked well. Unfortunately, what heavily affected the visit was the payment process through the Sunday app. The restaurant adds a 12.5% service charge, which is perfectly normal and I am happy to pay, but when paying via the app, it immediately prompts you to add an additional tip on top, with one of the preset options being another 10% of the total bill including the previously added service charge. Even worse, the app then adds a non-removable “service fee” for using the platform. We had planned to split the bill but would have been charged the 99p fee each, so we chose a single payment instead, which still added a £1.19 fee. On a £52 meal, if we had followed the app’s suggested highest tip option and split the bill, we would have been paying an extra £14.33, which is a quite ridiculous, unreasonable 27.6% uplift. This creeping American-style tipping culture simply does not belong here, especially when staff in the UK receive a fair wage. I appreciate that this seems to be driven by the app rather than the restaurant itself, but I strongly encourage the owners to reconsider this setup. I genuinely wanted to give KIN a perfect 5*, because the food was excellent and the atmosphere charming. However, the payment system genuinely marred the overall experience and left a sour taste at the end of an otherwise great meal. For now, I give it 3.5*, and I would be willing to return if they resolve this issue.
Having read the reviews, I thought this place was going to be amazing but I must’ve been the only person who thought this was actually really average. There was nothing wrong with the food but I was expecting a lot more, especially considering the price point. The house style aubergine was quite oily and tasteless. The tomato trio gnocchi was nice and the courgette and pistachio pasta wasn’t bad but nothing was worth going back for more. The pastas cost £19 and £19.50 respectively and I truly can’t comprehend the price charged. I think there are far better offers out there for vegans.
I really enjoy Kin but unfortunately the service when went recently was bad. Appreciate they were busy (...but expected as a central location?). Staff were very inattentive (basic things like we had to ask for our own water and to order, no other service beyond literally being sat and left). Have to say one staff member was excellent and seemed to be the only one clued in. Food took forever with zero check ins from the staff to say hey, sorry about the wait, would you like another drink etc. Nadda. The final nail was the bill. The tables encourage you to e-pay. Fine. 12% service charge (fine, normal though not happy given poor service) but then it then asks you to add a tip (?! Then what's the service charge for?!) and then charges £1 to use the e-payment platform?! So I have to pay to pay my bill? The food is great, can't question that but honestly really disappointed with my latest experience and questioning if I'd return.
