Really lovely restaurant, atmosphere is very warm and welcoming! Seated upstairs, the service was really fast and the staff were super friendly. Food was delicious! Highly Recommend! Will definitely be back! December update: Went back again because the first experience was so good. However, the second time wasn’t as good. The service was not great, and the food was very underwhelming. I ordered the salmon with potatoes and it was very over cooked, I could only eat half. My partner ordered the fish and chips, and it was also underwhelming as some parts were soggy and it was falling apart.
We dined here for a Special French Wine & Cheese evening, so I'm not commenting on the regular menu. After a slow start, the 4 course cheese menu, each with a curated tasting wine, was a delight. I wondered if it would make a good meal. However, by the end, we were pleasantly full. I would highly recommend if they repeat this type of event. It was good value at £30 + service. I would suggest to the management that they spread the guest arrival times better next time.
Had an outstanding experience at Boulevard Brasserie. My partner and I had lunch together. We booked for around 12 and arrived at first at a very quiet restaurant which got very lively as lunchtime hit. The atmosphere was great. Our server (Tzouliano listed on Receipt) was great. Very quick and polite - thank you for your service. The food was fantastic. We opted for the lunch set menu. Having the Baked Brie Filo starter and Butternut risotto for main. My partner had the Sea bass for main, with a side of Fries. We shared a Creme Brulé for dessert. Would highly recommend all of them. Will be visiting again soon and recommending to all, thank you for a great experience.
Wonderful attentive service from start to finish. We had booked for an afternoon tea and were delighted with the experience in the tearoom upstairs, which we had to ourselves! Large variety of tea to choose from, we enjoyed the bold Earl grey and English breakfast tea. Started with a delicious selection of sandwiches with a French twist of a brioche bun and caramelised onion mini quiche. The scones were served warm and the jam was fresh and packed with flavour. The selection of desserts was unique and each a dream, particularly the mini chocolate brownie which was absolutely decadent and a highlight of the experience. Would love to return again!
Lovely restaurant. Yummy food, great service and it was easy to book online as well. I made a reservation for a large group of 12 to celebrate a 40 th birthday and it was such an easy process. We even had a welcome drink on arrival. I would definitely return!
Boulevard Brasserie is a cozy, charming spot with a friendly local feel. The prix fixe menu was perfect before a show. Every dish was impressive and full of flavor, and the food came out quickly. The service was attentive to our schedule without rushing us.
⭐ An Unforgettable Experience — Exceptional Food, God-Level Service & A Night to Remember I had been meaning to write this review much earlier, but the last days were extremely busy for me. Still, this experience stayed so strongly in my mind that I had to come back and share it because what we lived that night was truly unforgettable. We visited the restaurant as a large corporate group of around 30 people, and from the moment we walked in, everything felt perfectly organised, warm, and incredibly welcoming. 🍽 Food — Exceptional Beyond Expectations The food was phenomenal. Every dish was rich in flavour, beautifully prepared, and truly memorable. Serving 30 people at the same time with this level of quality is something very rare in London and they delivered flawlessly. Everyone in the group was impressed.👑 Service Anna & Dionysis Are on Another Level I want to express my deepest appreciation for Anna, who was nothing short of extraordinary. Her warmth, energy, and professionalism created an atmosphere that made a huge, formal corporate dinner feel like a beautiful family gathering. She is the kind of person who elevates an entire experience just by being there attentive, bright, kind, and consistently professional even under pressure. It’s no exaggeration to say she was the heart of the evening.A big thank you also to Dionysis, whose calmness, organisation, and steady professionalism kept everything running smoothly, even with such a large group. They made a perfect team.👥 Ideal for Big Groups Handling a group of nearly 30 people is not easy, yet everything was seamless no delays, no confusion, no stress. The prices are amazing for the quality you receive, and the atmosphere is both elegant and comfortable. 🌟 A Night We Will Never Forget What was meant to be a company dinner turned into a memorable, heart-warming experience that we will talk about for a long time. This restaurant made London feel even more special that night. Thank you for the incredible food. Thank you for the unforgettable service. Thank you especially to Anna and Dionysis for making a huge group feel like family. We wholeheartedly recommend this place a true gem.
The food was superb, and frankly I cannot remember a better soup, or burger! The excellent wine was well priced, and we were so happy with the whole experience! Visar was really great and looked after us so well! Suggesting dishes and making our night so memorable. Old school service, and that’s so refreshing to see! We were still talking about The Boulevard days later! I’m coming back and bringing my family next time! 🙏

Boulevard Brasserie was a delight with food choices and good value for money. The staff were exceptional in particular Anna who made us feel welcome, comfortable and well looked after. We were here for our anniversary and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.
Had such a fantastic experience at Boulevard Brasserie in Covent Garden. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and authentically Parisian. The restaurant has that charming French brasserie feel – elegant but relaxed – making it perfect for both a casual meal and a special evening out. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. You can really tell they focus on quality ingredients and classic French cooking. The service was also outstanding – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. What made it even better was the location right in the heart of Covent Garden, which adds to the whole experience. It felt like a little escape to Paris without leaving London. Highly recommend Boulevard Brasserie if you’re looking for great French food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Just a great place. For central London the prices are reasonable. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. It’s our go to place and we have recommended it to lots of people - all of whom have thoroughly enjoyed going there. Highly recommend.
It's hard to find somewhere that caters for someone who is vegetarian and has Coeliac Disease but this place was fab. Staff were so helpful and took extra care with my daughters gluten free meal. Will definitely go again. The pics are of my food - not my daughters 😊
Lovely visit for supper. Service and venue perfect. Mains were very nice. Dessert did have slight taste of freezer(trifle). Would return.
The service was exceptionel. It’s rare to find after 10 PM during the week a restaurant in this area of London where you are still being served. We came with a group of eight people and were not disappointed. The waitress Elisa Franco was a perfect host and everyone was happy with the food. You feel like in a real French Brasserie.
Nice French Cafe just off the Strand. We came here based on reviews and it didn't disappoint. Staff was very friendly and the right level of attentive. Food was delicious. MOULES MARINTERES mussels cooked in white wine, garlic came out steaming with lots of flavor. Everything we ordered was good. Excellent choice for a pre-theater dinner.
Love love love this place. My partner and I like to come here for date nights. The food is fantastic and the staff is always so friendly. Such a lovely spot in central London!
My son and I visited here last night and were treated to a delicious lamb rack, cooked to perfection and full of flavour, accompanied by dolphinous potatoes and a gorgeous gravy. The setting is beautifully appointed and oozes a real Parisian atmosphere. Indeed, there were a number of French tourists dining alongside us. Cédric delivered impeccable service. His good nature and humour made for an outstanding dining experience. I could gladly have spent all evening drinking and soaking up the atmosphere, and this venue will definitely feature on my favourite restaurants in London. I do hope that your experience concurs with mine. Visited again today 24/12/23 and received fantastic service from Manuel. Particularly enjoyed the French cheeseboard. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Was a warm day and my friend and I were in the local area looking for somewhere with an outdoor seating area for drinks. Although this place is a brasserie, it looked nice and it fit the bill. We stayed for a couple of hours chatting over drinks and had a lovely time here. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and helpful. I would happily return here to try some of their food.
Not often I give 5 stars , but this place definitely deserves it , cosy candlelight dinner. Prompt service and didn’t have to wait long for drinks or food. Our waiter Rosario, was very polite friendly and very attentive. We had French onion soup, chicken liver parfait for starters, and salmon with crushed potatoes wit tarragon Parsley sauce, and chicken wrapped in bacon with roquefort. All cooked perfectly and very tasty.
Amazing French bistro. Atmosphere is great, servers are charming and the food is incredible. The mussels are absolutely insane. The sauce was the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the bread as well to dip in the sauce. Would definitely recommend ordering this, it is a perfect meal. My friends enjoyed their duck confit and chicken Milanese as well.
We attended a professional dinner, accompanied by my husband, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the service from Anna and Dionysis was simply outstanding they made the evening feel special. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable and delightful dining experience.
Excellent experience at the Boulivard Brasserie tonight, as a large party of 44 we were greated and seated swiftly. Food was delivered quickly. Our hosts Anna and Xhuliano, we friendly and welcoming, and made sure that our vist a lovely experience. Thankyou
Revisited this old favourite after many years away. Really great lunch, good value and wonderful service. A refreshing change from some of the chains and other places that will fleece you in Covent Garden and employ sad looking employees. Will be back!
2nd visit in 2 months, this time a birthday treat. Food, sublime, I had pork loin with pomme puree and apples. The her had beef bourginone, lovely melt in the mouth beef, the Her's boy had cassolet du canard. Service top notch, atmosphere lovely.
Very accommodating to mobility needs for afternoon tea, we were unable to go upstairs for afternoon tea so was accomodated downstairs. Happy and professional staff providing a lovely atmosphere. Food delicious and the prosecco was just right !!!
I had a lovely meal hear following a theatre trip with my mum. We had the fixed menu, all the dishes were great. Special shout out to Anna for the excellent service. Thank you.
Absolutely lovely restaurant! Had our Christmas lunch here and they looked after us so well, we're so accommodating and just all round lovely. The food was absolutely delicious as well!
We booked via First Table and there was no issues in booking a table and getting the discount on the bill. For starters we ordered the grilled king prawns, which contain one large prawn in the shell and three smaller prawns under which was well seasoned, and the French onion soup, which had great depth of flavour. For mains we ordered the cassoulet and bouillabaisse. Both were generously portioned, very fresh and also very tasty and for dessert we both enjoyed the creme brulee which had the perfect mix of burnt slightly bitter sugar and sweet set custard underneath. Service was okay. Overall, a delicious meal in a cosy environment, and food was served quickly making ideal for a pre-show meal, we would definitely come back.
Cute and cozy spot for French fare - we had the prix fixe menu, really liked the sea bass (the celeriac soup was tasty though a bit salty), the onion fennel goat cheese tart (also good, though again a bit salty), and the salads (which were good portions). Nice wine list, especially the half bottle option, and quick service. The ambiance is very cosy and festive this time of year.
We tried this spot for afternoon tea. It was quiet and we were one of a few patrons in the restaurant. Given this we would have thought the service was a bit more attentive; the meal dragged between courses at odd pacing. Desserts were beat out the savory items in our opinion. Our favorites were the crème brûlée and brownie! The carrot cake was a bit dry. Tea was plentiful and hot. Sandwich wise the egg sandwich was fantastic and well liked by our crew. The cucumber sandwich was flavorful but the white sandwich bread on all the sandwiches were a bit dry. The salmon sandwich and cucumber could use a bit more filling. Scones were warm and tasted yummy with the jam. All in all for the value and ease of getting a reservation day-of we would consider going back.
A good value option for pre theatre dining . Great location in the centre of theatre land, nice atmosphere across several floors so feels a lot smaller than it is when you are dining. Service very friendly , not the fastest so just factor in if pre theatre booking. Good value menu of traditional French food which was very tasty!
My best friend and I had dinner here on Valentine's Day before we went to see a show and had a wonderful time. I had the fish and chips and while the fish didn't agree with me, I can be very sensitive to how fish is prepared and don't believe most people would have had any issues. My friend got the Wild Mushroom Risotto and enjoyed it immensely. I also had their Crème brûlée which was some of the best I've ever had. My friend had the cinnamon apple crumble and said it was alright, but the pieces of apple were rather large and she felt the dish could have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces before being cooked. Our server was attentive and informative. My only true complaint was that the tables all felt too close together leaving the servers to squeeze between table edges and chairs with occupants or even contort their bodies at points in time and also made navigating it as a customer uncomfortable.
We went in for their January afternoon tea deal. I think it was a good price for what we got. We were put upstairs and were the only guests there. I think due to this the staff then forgot about us. After 20 minutes we went to go and ask if they could bring us the tea. They did and then 10 minutes later they brought the cakes. We then had to go downstairs again to ask for our scones and more tea. I didn’t mind this too much but would of been nice to be told we needed to go and ask for things ourselves as we wouldn’t be getting table service. When the staff did come to serve us however they were very hospitable and friendly. All in all worth the money but I wouldn’t go without this deal considering.
We got the chateaubriand to share in their January offer. The steak was very nice - well seasoned and cooked well - but I don't know if I would pay full price for it. Service was slow and I felt rushed to leave at the end of the meal.
Had lunch yesterday at this restaurant. Tasty food, warm ambience, clean toilets, kind and attentive staff. Dry January mocktails were great. Positive experience overall. On the minus side, none of the staff were wearing face masks and one that did was just up to his mouth. Quite pricey as well: 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 mocktails, no desserts at £85+. I’d recommend it only for a special occasion or a date but not for a place one could go on weekly basis or more often.
Been to the sister restaurant the Palm Court many times but decided on a change, the food and service was good, the only thing that let it down was it seemed to need a good clean and a lick of paint, we were next to a wall that obviously hadn't been decorated in years, the menus weren't the cleanest either. Look around the internet for a discount as it's really good value if you can get 50% off food
Food was absolutely delicious and the wine list was decent. Waitresses were both amazing. The thing preventing this place from 5 stars from us was the manager, who strutted in his suit, sour-faced, was the one who “greeted” us (poorly) and brought the mood of the place down. Restaurants do not need this; clearly a manager and not a leader.
Our visit was very much a passing through trip, and it was a mixed one. Walking inside, we were not greeted, simply stared at from the back of the restaurant, and when we approached the staff, there was no real greeting, no warmth or welcome, just a look. Odd. We took ourselves to an outside table and then waited 10 minutes to be approached for drinks - by the same dour and rather uninterested waiter (who looked senior) who we saw inside. I had to stop him from walking away so we could order food at the same time as our drinks, which we kept simple as it felt the ongoing experience was not going to improve. Interestingly, as soon as an actual waitor and kitchen staff started approaching our table to bring our orders, the experience was much better, if not exactly becoming of French restaurant standards. The food was simple, so reasonably tasting, though pricy for what it was and not well sized portions at all. Drinks were pleasant, but again, pricier than they should have been, and at no time did any member of staff engage us in any friendly conversation or discussion on the menu. A disappointing and cultureless experience, which was surprising for a French restaurant in the Covent Garden area and not right within the tourist traps. It may as well have been.
I Boulevard Brasserie in Covent Garden in November 2024 for afternoon tea, which was kindly organised by a friend. We picked this spot for its central location and reasonable pricing, and I was excited since it had been a while since my last afternoon tea. Location: The brasserie is very conveniently located near Covent Garden, making it an ideal spot if you’re in the area. Service: The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. With a reservation, we were seated upstairs promptly, where we enjoyed a nice view. The team regularly checked in to offer tea refills, which was a thoughtful touch. Ambiance: The upstairs seating had a cozy feel, but there was an unusual smell both downstairs and upstairs, which slightly affected the experience. While the decor had some charm, it reminded me more of a pub than a classic afternoon tea venue. Tea & Presentation: The porcelain teacups were elegant, but the tea was served in metal teapots, which didn’t quite match the overall theme. While practical for keeping tea warm, I would have preferred a more cohesive presentation. Food: The food was enjoyable but fairly standard for afternoon tea. The sandwiches were fresh but smaller than expected, and I would have liked a better balance of savory and sweet items. The scones were the highlight—large, soft, and delicious, served with clotted cream and jam. The desserts, including macarons and a mousse, were good but not particularly memorable. Extras: Since it was my birthday, the staff surprised me with a card, which was a lovely and thoughtful gesture. Overall: Boulevard Brasserie offers a convenient and affordable afternoon tea experience with great service. While the food and ambiance didn’t stand out for me personally, it’s a good option for those looking to try a centrally located and reasonably priced afternoon tea. I would rate it a solid 3 out of 5.
The staff were great, the food was served quickly and was delicious. However, I made the booking for a team Christmas dinner and were sat across two tables. While this ended up being fine, we were not informed of this prior to arrival so was not ideal. Additionally, at no point during the booking process or in any fine print was it mentioned that there was a minimum spend for the booking which was incredibly disappointing and somewhat tainted the evening while we were being told to purchase additional drinks to make up the minimum cost of £1200. At no point was this value explained and there was just an expectation without warning to reach this number, the origin of which is unknown.
Nice environment, very good pre theater menu, starters great and deserts. The beef bourguignon was extremely dry and tasted old, like it had been in a hot pot all day awful, same for the mash old and discolored. Waiters friendly and welcoming. Would return but would not get the beef.
Went here for afternoon tea for my friend's baby shower. I ordered a chocolate martini which I haven't had in years. The drink was so disappointing. Now on to the afternoon tea. The bread was hard like it had been left out for a whole. The chocolate cake was sickly sweet which says a lot as I have a sweet tooth. All in all paid over £40 which is a lot for a dry afternoon tea that I didn't even finish and a very underwhelming chocolate martini. So disappointed, wouldn't go back in a hurry and would definitely not recommend the afternoon tea.
The menu is very basic for the price. The brie starter and the sea bass were both ok but for price I expect a bit more than ok. Creme brulé was good. Service was very, very quick. I hadn't put my cutlery down from my starter before the main was brought to the table and the starter arrived within 2 mins of ordering. When I asked if they needed the table I was assured they didn't and we did then get breathing space before the desert. In brief the pre theatre menu here is ok if you're stuck but there are better places with nicer food and better service
Visited on a Saturday evening at 6pm. Service was probably one of the worse I have experienced, the waiting staff were all miserable and made us feel uncomfortable. When it came to ordering one of our party selected 2 items from the fix price menu. The waiter said it’s too late -it was 6:25. He said that ends at 6:30. We said you have 5 mins - he said I’ve got to get the order to the kitchen, we said you have 5 mins . He huffed and went away. I selected the beef bourguignon, when it came it was barely like warm, swimming in fat. It tastes like a cheap beef stew with chewy. Not once did anyone check on us to see if we were happy with our food. No one offered to replenish our drinks. My friends steak was chewy, the chips looked like oven chips. When we eventually got a waitress’ attention we decided to pay and leave. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
Careful if you go for the pre-theatre menu. We made a reservation for 6.15 so we could go to the show at 7.30. They said over the phone that it was okay, but from the moment we arrieved were very unpleasant about how late we were and how little time we had. Still, we asked to be taken our orders quickly, since we have already decided what to order on our way there. Despite our numerous calls to varios waitresses, it took them well over 15 minutes to come to the table to take our orders. At which point they said that we could not order the pre-theatre menu since it was exactly past 6.30. They then proceeded to tell us repeatedly that according to their manager, we were told we were too late for the menu since before sitting down. Which is obviously not true. We would have gone to a different restaurant or for a sandwich if that were the case. Despite everything, we stayed and payed over 70£ for one of the most mediocre dinners we've had in all our times visiting London. Overcooked seabass, greasy chicken and poor service. The worst part was being force to pay a 12% gratuity service for such a mediocre service.
They seated us on one table and then moved us to another. Then we had to wait for 5min for the menus. Two of the chairs on our table were broken. We ordered water, didn’t get any. Ordered peppermint tea, got ginger lemon. The desserts were mediocre, the crackers for the cheese were stale. At the end, they included service tip which we definitely didn’t want to leave.
Very disappointing experience From the moment we walked in, the place smelled unpleasant, we even had to ask them to open the windows to get some fresh air. The afternoon tea was equally disappointing: the tea tasted like hot water, the macarons were dry and flavorless, and the food seemed to be badly defrosted frozen products. Nothing felt fresh or authentic. The waiter didn’t seem to care and was too proud to admit the poor quality. Sadly, this felt more like a tourist trap than a real French experience. Definitely not recommended.
