Had a wonderful lunch here (using a Virgin Experience Day voucher). The service was friendly, attentive, and professional, but also relaxed and not overly fussy. The atmosphere was similar: vibrant but not crowded or noisy. The food was excellent: nicely cooked with exciting flavours. The tiramisu was the best we've ever eaten. We felt very well looked after and had a really nice time.
First visit yesterday. Large basement restaurant area. Excellent Italian Trattoria food. We very much enjoyed our delicious Beef Carpaccio starter, Pappardelle, Risotto and Cod mains. All flavoursome, and nicely cooked and presented. We were very well looked after by friendly, helpful, chatty and attentive waiting staff Bogdana and Skye. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We shall return!
The food was absolutely delicious, and I definitely recommend it. Our server was Sky and she was so kind and attentive. They timed our food so we weren’t waiting too long between courses, but still had enough time to chat and relax. It is also very fairly priced. If you can go I definitely recommend going
I am Italian and I have lived in London for ten years. I ate at Mele e Pere and felt at ease straight away. The welcome was warm and straightforward. Bogdana was excellent. Polite, present, and easy to talk to, she looked after us with care and good timing. The pasta is made in house and that alone says a lot. Fresh, light, and well cooked, with flavours that feel honest and familiar. No overworking, no tricks, only good ingredients treated with care. The place is cosy and relaxed, right in Soho. Friendly atmosphere, simple setting, and a feeling of being among people who enjoy what they do. A place I would return to and recommend.
I genuinely love Mele e Pere. I've been several times, with friends, and on my own. The last time, I sat at the bar with a book - and never opened it... because I opened the Vermouth Bible instead and spent a great evening chatting to Chris about a range of different amaros, the quality of English vermouths, from Sacred to the Apsley Brothers to The Aperativo Co, and just thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere, as well as the vermouth. There genuinely is no other vermuteria that I know of anything like this. They, just like their produce, deserve to be richly celebrated. Salut!
Really had a good experience here. Thought this maybe slightly more bar than restaurant vibe just due to large vermouth menu but the food really did deliver. The highlights were the duck ragu with truffle and definitely the Fiorentina steak. The staff were great. They let us take our time and enjoy ourselves. Most places do have really specific table turn around but they let us have fun and enjoy it. Would definitely recommend
I am Italian and this place has great food and drinks! Really rare to find a vermouth bar, and they have such a good selection of cocktails based on vermouth. I had the gnocco fritto with prosciutto, which were delicious, and the mafaldine with a super tasty tomato sauce. The atmosphere and decor are so welcoming and cozy, making it feel like a true trattoria. One advice I would give is to change the colour of the sign outside, because the Italian flag colours theme is very cute but it may give the impression that it’s a tourist trap when it’s actually authentic and really good.
By far the best pre-theatre menu in the area - value, quality and flavours are exceptional. Generous portions of delicious food - even the bread was wonderful. Our waitress, Bogdana was helpful and effiicient. I cannot fault this place. Highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing restaurant - really take excellent care of their guests, the food is unbelievably good, and the decor brilliant! Support your local independent and come here - you will not regret it! (Best carbonara in London too... just saying)
This is our goto central London Italian. Super for lunch - whether business or friends- and before a show. The food is authentic Italian, delicious and hearty. The set lunch menu is incredible value and you must sample the wide variety of vermouths. M&P is great fun!
Quiet combination of bar and restaurant in an otherwise busy area. Got lovely vermouth, of which they have excellent and extensive choice, before going to theatre and a decent pizza after the show. The guy at the bar was very polite and helpful, dispensing excellent advice on vermouths. Nine place to return if visiting the West End.
Such a gem in Soho! Delicious food and great drinks, especially their signature vermouth, always served with warm and personal service. I've been coming here for years, with friends and family, and have never been disappointed. All the food - pasta, pizza, starters, desserts - has always been excellent! If you're looking for a place for lunch or dinner, as a break from shopping, a pre-theatre meal or a special treat, I couldn't recommend it highly enough!
Celebrating our Wedding Anniversary on Valentines day. Everyone were so friendly. Service and food was impeccable. I will definitely recommend this restaurant. Best to pre book. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
I was fortunate enough to discover Mele e Pere on Brewer Street shortly after its opening in 2012. Since then, I have used the restaurant for work, pre theatre, family and friends events and never had a poor experience. The menu is a delight and the food always authentic and delicious. Peter and team are always welcoming and there is no cocktail that cannot be mixed! As an independent restaurant in a world of same same chain's Mele e Pere has always had to fight to be seen and heard but once you have found and experienced Mele e Pere, you will always go back. *Highly recommend, the Spaghetti Carbonara and Tiramisu!
Bogdana had the most welcoming energy and was so so warm to me , I ate alone as a 19 year old boy dose because I was just about to go to a show around the corner , the only way I can describe my first bite of the food was ,pure pleasure ( duck and truffle pasta) and when i came back later in the evening I had the most delicious tiramisu that Bogdana recommended to me . Also the lovely Aurora served me my last delicious glass . So all and all this was a beautiful experience and would definitely recommend x
Anir was so sweet and kind throughout our dinner. The foods came quickly and everything was delicious!! Special thanks to Anir who made our birthday celebration special xx Amazing food with amazing staff! We will definitely be back:)
We chose to come to Mele e Pere before a matinee performance at the theatre. After a high stress cross London slog due to the tubes not running we were met with friendly staff and a calming couple of drinks. The signature Negroni was spot-on and we also tried some of the Vermouth, also great. Food was excellent and the Tiramisu was one of the best we have tried. We definitely plan a return when we have more time to sample some of the other dishes and a selection of the vermouths. Great staff/food/drinks and great value for money. No Soho price gouging here!
An absolutely amazing Lunch I had today here at Mele e Pere!!! I couldn’t ask more , especially with a sunny weather here in London. Pass by this restaurant often , and today I finally had spare time to stop relax and enjoy a delicious Italian dishes. Atmosphere is great , good vibes and music too, I also received a fantastic service provided by Simone, he greeted me at the door, help me to find a table and the most important thing help me to choose from their incredible menu. Today they also offered 2 & 3 courses set menus. I highly recommend to pop in and try. Few minuses away from Piccadilly Circus, it’s a Gem.. A great experience overall. Until next time , Thank you!
Had a fantastic experience at Mele e Pere!✨️ The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, authentic, and beautifully presented. The carbonara was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, and the ingredients tasted high quality. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a lovely vibe that makes you want to stay all evening. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel really well looked after. Great spot for both a casual dinner and a special occasion. Can’t wait to come back!
This stunning Italian Resturant in the heart of Soho is so so gorgeous and very deceiving from when you walk in you don’t realise the Resturant is down stairs and when you go down it gives warm, cosy Italian welcome. The food was just outstanding lived every dish I got and the rump steak with the sauces that came with it was just delicious and if I didn’t think it could get any better 😍 the desert blew me away 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 very impressed and would certainly visit here again. The staff Anir, Bogdana & Ameila were great considering the was very busy we didn’t have to once catch there attention they was always there for our needs. One of my top 5 Italian restaurants to visit.
Great place for lunch, dinner or just vermouths at the bar. Very welcoming, and if you share my love of vermouths, you can have a great conversation. The food is excellent, carefully cooked and flavoursome. I first went there for a Vermouth experience, and have been back many times, never disappointed. Highly recommended.
Mele e Pere was the absolute perfect sanctuary on a chilly February evening in Soho. The staff were warm, attentive and clearly passionate. I had the tagliatelle al ragu (very possibly the best I’ve had this side of Bologna) and a delightfully smooth homemade vermouth. Lovely buzz about the place for a Tuesday evening too. Five stars all round
We had a wonderful lunch here - the pre-theatre menu is exceptional value. Staff are friendly and attentive and service was great. The pre-theatre menu has a good variety of options and we were surprised at how generous the portions were. Everything was delicious - save some room for dessert so you can enjoy the tiramisu. Although it wasn't busy when we visited, the restaurant has a relaxed vibe and the ambience is just delightful. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town.
A lovely selection of Italian dishes. Everything was tasty. The restaurant deserves 5 stars for the hospitality. Was it the best carbonara I tasted? I don’t think so. But it certainly was in the top 7. Do not hesitate to come here!
Went here before going to the comedy store with my mate. Great location and such a cute place. Food was so good! The focaccia portion was massive and so good! I ordered the tomato pasta with the burrata and it was amazing! Highly recommended!
This is a little gem. Ideal for the various theatres nearby. It's a very typical Italian bar/restaurant. We had lunch prior to going to the theatre. Very good welcome. Small set menu but very good value and superbly presented and utterly delicious. Good italian wine/ beer and soft drinks. Good service and friendly staff. It's well worth seeking out and going to. Large eating area downstairs. Clean modern toilets downstairs. Loved it and would go back again without any hesitation.
Had an amazing meal here before going to see Moulin Rouge. Chose to go here as it was around the corner of Piccadilly Theatre. The staff was very welcoming, we booked a table weeks before going as it is December. I noticed lots of Christmas events going on. The food was all well presentable and tasted amazing. Lots of Italian meals to choose from pasta to pizza. All sort of drinks to offer to have with your meal. The atmosphere was amazing. The only thing that was a bit slow was when we came to pay they took there time to give us are bill. All in all it was a great place for Italian food.
Words can't describe how good the food was. I had the best carbonara in my life!!! I also had the deep fried stuffed olives, delicious. Maira was super nice, if you're in London, you definitely should go there.
Went for a pre-theatre meal before seeing the matinee of Moulin Rouge. We both had the 3 course lunch at £22.50 each and a bottle of sparkling water. Excellent value for money and generous portions. We both had the meatballs to start, I had the Margherita pizza, my partner the tagliatelli ragu and then both of us finished with the Affogato. Service charge is added to the bill. Would definitely go back and spend more time in there. A gem of a proper Italian restaurant owned and run by them ☺️
Ive eaten in their Soho restaurant for lunch and dinner and would highly recommend them. Food excellent and portion sizes just right service amazing friendly and professional and a fab atmosphere. Sadly I live in Somerset but certainly wouldn't hesitate to eat here when next in London.
Amazing experience! The staff were really kind, the location is quite unique and the food was amazing. Thank you so much! Linda x
I've been going to Mele e Pere for 12 years. The food and atmosphere are always great. Also it's reasonably priced, which I'd rare in central London! I recommend the restaurant to friends and family visiting London!
Mele e Pere is hands down the best restaurant in all of London! I had a perfectly cooked medium steak that was absolutely fantastic, and it truly made me feel like I was dining in Italy. A real treat for the palate! The ambiance is perfect for conversation and enjoying the surroundings. I had a wonderful time with my cousins, and I’m thrilled with how kind and attentive the staff were. The service was impeccable. Highly recommend it!
This was my first visit to Mele E Pere, and I can only say that my expectations were exceeded in every way. From the decor, to the service and the food. It was exceptional in every way. Our waitress, Olivia, was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable, I could not have asked for more. A* would highly recommend 👌
Really liked this independent Italian place. Great Italian atmosphere (the music, the wall art, etc.) and delicious food. We had the 3 course set lunch menu, it was lovely. They also cater well for gluten free.
Lovely independent restaurant in Soho considering some of the distinctly average places that are available. I’ve eaten there over 10 years and often come away with pleasant memories. I’ve found their prices reasonable for the quality and atmosphere that’s on offer. Support independent businesses!
Excellent food, quick service, nice atmosphere. We wanted a "quick" dinner by the window and were impressed about the food, we ended up staying longer and ordering dessert as well. We got Porchetta and Brasatto and both were incredible. They were served fairly fast too.
Lovely Italian spot right in the heart of Soho, yet surprisingly calm and relaxing. The location is perfect — close to the buzz, but peaceful enough to actually enjoy your meal. Staff are professional and attentive. The food offers great value for money, with quality that easily outshines the prices. If you’re into Vermouth, theirs is particularly good — definitely worth a try. You can sit at the street-level tables to soak in Soho’s vibrant energy, or head downstairs for a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. A great balance between city life and authentic Italian charm.
A lovely meal celebrating a 60th and 30th birthday. Food was really good, very tasty and full of flavour. Would say that the carbona portion was a bit small and were left a bit hungry. Other portions and pizzas were great. We were a big group, and food came out at the same time, shared starters. A bit upsetting that we were not able to have a cake or any dessert brought to us to celebrate birthdays. Was still a great meal and would recommend. They have a great space downstairs which is huge and lots of siting.
We went there for lunch and had pasta, pizza and steak. We liked it. Untypical for an Italian restaurant was the missing bread to come with the starter - so could be improved especially for the burrata. The steak and fries very a bit salty and the pizza to much cheese. Nevertheless we would come again to have a neapolitan pizza or some pasta.
Nice atmosphere. Good food and service. I ordered carbonara, and it was nice but a bit much peper and salti think, according to my personal taste. The only thing that i didn't appreciate it was that they kept asking me if i was finished, i felt a bit pressured, and i couldn't relax to enjoy my meal slowly as i wanted.
We walked in without reservation and they were very accommodating! The food was loving and the service was great! Bogdana was our waiter and she was lovely 😊 would definitely recommend!
Absolutely exceptional food—especially the duck ragù with black truffles, the best I’ve had in London and easily the highlight of the menu! The braised beef with polenta was delicious though a bit lacking in texture, and the pollo toscano was fine but unremarkable. The interior is beautifully designed, although the tables feel slightly cramped and no where to keep your coat. Unfortunately, the service fell short: our waiter was impolite, slow, wouldn’t take the order in the sequence we preferred, and left the table cluttered throughout. I would have given five stars for the food, but due to the service, it’s a solid four.
Food was good. Fresh pasta very tasty. Service just OK. Waiter didn’t know items on menu and didn’t know dishes well enough to advise - possibly new. Nice, cosy interiors downstairs but is quite loud.
Limited Vegetarian Options The vegetarian choices were quite limited. I started with the bruschetta, which had an overly hard base, followed by a Margherita pizza that was just average—especially disappointing for an Italian restaurant. The crust was particularly tough to cut. For dessert, I had the Espresso Affogato, which was simply ice cream with cold espresso—nothing special. Service felt rushed, and the overall experience did not feel like it offered good value for money. I expected better quality given the restaurant’s Italian focus.
A decent restaurant, the starters were our favourite, the mains very just about ok, we didn’t enjoy them much and the tiramisu was rather average. Considering we easily get such high quality wood fired pizza in London just about anywhere, the pizza here was a let down. Friendly staff, good location.
Nice place to meet, dreadful place to eat. Food non-descript and very disappointing. Two of our party of four left most of their main course and the Brushetta was probably the worst I've ever tasted. Over priced and masquerading as an Italian.
