Opinions de Potli - An Indian Market Kitchen London
First visit and absolutely loved it. The food was full of flavour, from the papadum with chutneys to the pani puri and butter chicken samosa. The Kerala fish curry and dal tarka panchmel were excellent, rich and comforting. Finished with masala chai and paan ice cream a perfect end. Service was friendly, very polite and welcoming.
Unbelievable food, fresh and flavourful, great service and atmosphere. We had a birthday with 8 guests and they accommodated very nicely. Would highly recommend!
Wow amazing food and a great night friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you. Great time. Keep up the good work.
We had an incredible time at Potli for lunchtime - very good selection, lots of vegetable and fish options. The food was delicious and filling, and service was lovely as well.
I and my partner recently dined at Potli, Hammersmith and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance that beautifully captures the essence of India. The decor, with its vibrant colors and traditional elements, instantly transported us to the heart of the country. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a perfect harmony of spices and flavors, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of India , every bite was a delightful journey for the taste buds. What truly set this restaurant apart, though, was the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. Overall, the restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine served with genuine hospitality. Highly recommended!
Fabulous food and great service from the lovely Ankit. Their use of fresh ingredients makes all the difference. Authentic Indian flavours. And great value lunch menu. We can't wait to come back. We have a new Indian regular!
I LOVE this place. I’ve been a few times now and it never disappoints. The service is warming, friendly and impeccably professional each time. The food is packed with so much flavour and is, in my opinion, some of the best Indian food in London. Naan bread is without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. Pricing is also extremely reasonable, they have a lunchtime set menu which is great. We bring everyone who comes to visit us in London here and you should too.
Authentic Taste! Great options on the menu. Food is flavourful and true to Indian taste. The pricing is more like a fine dine but worth it for someone craving for Indian spices. The seating is a bit cozy and the place can be full on meal time and on weekends hence reservation is recommended. Overall a must try in West London!!
Absolutely fantastic, Michelin recommended and it shows in quality and service. We had the boar vindaloo and railway mutton curry and both were fantastic. That said the mutton wasn't actually mutton but rather lamb chunks. Still delicious. I can't say enough how good the service is, staff is quick and professional while still seeming at ease and friendly. Definitely would recommend to a friend.
Superb. One of those rarities where 5 stars on Google isn’t enough. We went on a weekday evening to celebrate a birthday. It was a real pleasure throughout. The staff were welcoming and friendly as you’d expect, but the little extra touches made such a difference. Our server explained in detail several off menu starter options which we took and were truly impressed. The table was wiped frequently. The drinking water was flavoured with cucumber and our glasses refilled without asking. Attentive, warm and pleasant service without being intrusive. Perfect. We had four different vegetarian curries between us, with slight adaptations for two of us. All were top class and probably the best we’ve ever tasted. As a surprise they brought out a small chocolate mousse with a candle on for the birthday celebrant and we all sang along. At £25 a head for three courses plus a drink each it was great value. Service is 12.5%, but we added more because it was so worth it. Truly a gem of a restaurant.
We showed up as a spare of the moment thing, without a reservation and although it was a busy Saturday night they managed to accommodate us. They have a good selection of vegetarian options, which in my opinion are delicious! Seems to be a very diverse and friendly environment and all the staff are helpful and service is quick without being intrusive. Prices are fairly reasonable for the area. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
I am very happy with the lunch service. Great restaurant, good service and great food. The house special of Lamb Coconut Fry is very tasty and the portion is generous. The starter Andhra Chilli Chicken dish is wonderful too. I still feel full by dinner time. That is a good sign that the restaurant served a good meal. Next time I would like to try their fish dish. Definitely a good place to go if you want a great lunch with good service.
The food at this place is spectacular, and it also offers typical dishes from different parts of India. The staff's attention is unbeatable, very attentive. They explained and advised us on the different dishes, how they are prepared, and where they come from. Ashish, the general manager, personally attended to us and explained many interesting topics about Indian gastronomy. Without a doubt, I recommend it; I haven't found a restaurant in all of London that pays such attention to detail.
The servers were incredibly attentive and the food was out of this world!! Would highly recommend the samosas and the Railway Mutton Curry! The spice levels were absolutely perfect.
Varied dishes from different parts of India. Great tasting food, quite hot but we like that. Friendly service. We had the family set menu and were very pleased with the variety on offer, and every dish was perfectly cooked and distinct in taste.
The food was really good. The ambience is more of traditional. Good for small gatherings. A good restaurant worth visiting with family and friends …
5 stars for food AND service. Thank God the reviews didn’t lie in this case. We had the starters, chicken trio - scrumptious. Then we had one of their king prawn curries (prawns perfectly cooked and tender btw), with their special dhal dish, sag paneer, excellent garlic nan and rice. All recommended by our helpful server. Again sometimes recommendations can be disappointing but in this case he went above and beyond. Suggesting which sauces worked well, what size dishes and what complemented our choices. Will definitely come again. It was a busy and packed restaurant but felt really welcoming. We will be back!
Friendly staff with decent authentic well presented food
Great food good service reasonable lunch prices
If you are actually looking for authentic Indian food and some unique dishes then Potli is your best bet !! The hara bhara kabab, murg malai chicken kabab, lamb curry is just awesome !! Dont ever miss the lady finger fry and Jhumritalayi drink !! The best Indian restaurant ever in London.
Excellent dishes, good value for money. We ordered two set lunches on a weekday which included starters and mains accompanied by naan and rice.
The BEST Indian food I've ever had.. totally recommend an the prices are brilliant.. also lots of Indian people eating in there so that speaks volumes. Get it booked.! 10/10
The food and service at Potli were outstanding. After each meal our table was cleared, the staff were incredibly attentive and the food was sensational. Would throughly recommend.
Really enjoyed this place. Starters were great, the spicy tofu was some of the only tofu I have enjoyed. The Samosa Chaat was also spot on. Buttered Chicken was nice, slightly on the spicy side but even my delicate tastebuds were alright with it.
We had a lovely dinner at Potli. Such friendly, fast and attentive service, quirky and cosy surroundings, and wonderfully fresh and tasty curry to boot! (Unlike a lot of middle-of-the-road bland curry houses) authentic and wonderful. A very well priced wine list too! We will definitely be back.
We went for dinner on Friday at around 18:30 Hrs. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff was amazing and very polite which was the best thing we liked. Started with drinks and later ordered a great cocktail. The bar was managed by Rajiv and "GOA Hi" was the best I had in my life. They had some great choices. Badami Masala Lamb Chop, masala tawa fish, and Odia Prawn curry were delicious 5/5. I recommend it to everyone as one of the best in taste, hospitality, ambiance, and value for money. Ashish is an amazing manager and takes care of you without asking. Will visit again and again
Went for the lunch menu, amazing value for money. Everything we had was full of flavourand very generous portions, would highly recommend trying. If we are back in the area will definitely go again!
A new favourite Indian place near home. Will definitely come back
Service was excellent, food was authentic. Decor was very Indian Villagy feel.
One of the best Indian meals I’ve had in London. Must recommend: Odia prawn curry (I’m an Odia from India so trust me, it’s worth it!!), mutton curry (possibly only one of the few places in London to serve Goat and not old lamb as it is like back home), paneer curry, paan ice cream Every single item had so much thought put in, it’s in the league of one of the best Indian restaurants. The owner is one of the warmest people I’ve come across in London. It’s a bit of a walk down from Hammersmith station but it’s so worth it!!
A wonderful place for solid Indian food, in a city known for great Indian curry. Service is exceptional, food is nice and spicy and the menu is huge. I have relatives in Cheswick so I know I'll be back!
Wow . Party of 5. Extremely impressive food and service. Definitely a level above other Indian restaurants I have been to.
Excellent food and service from the Potli team! We celebrated my parents' wedding anniversary and had a group of 15+ people. Everyone left feeling very happy and satisfied :) Thanks so much for making it a fun and special celebration.
Potli is a real gem! Fantastic food, with a great variety of dishes. Fantastic Popadoms and chutneys. Lamb chops, Odia prawn curry and Mutton curry are my favourites, but having eaten here for years, I can confirm you can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. I’ve been to many a posh Indian restaurant in town and this beats them hands down! The staff are warm and friendly and service is on point. They cope with big groups like ours on New Year’s Day with charm. Highly recommend!
I celebrated my 40th birthday at Potli Indian Fine Dine, and they truly left no stone unturned. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious, rich, authentic flavours that reminded me of real Indian home cooking, beautifully presented with fine-dining finesse. The service and hospitality were top-notch. Every staff member was attentive, warm, and professional. A special mention to the restaurant owner, who was incredibly kind and generous, personally ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. It’s rare to see that level of dedication. If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in London paired with impeccable service, Potli is undoubtedly one of the best places to go. They made my milestone celebration truly memorable. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Potli, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with flavours that everyone enjoyed — every single guest praised the taste and quality. The staff provided warm, personalised service and ensured everything ran smoothly. The private basement space was a major highlight, giving us complete privacy to mingle, enjoy cake cutting, and comfortably swing and dance. They also arranged a high-quality Bluetooth speaker, which added perfectly to the party vibe.
Authentic Indian food in London. Period. The atmosphere is lively with diverse and rich Indian music, the interior has a nostalgic classic indian touch. Never seen such a dedicated staff in any restaurant. Just say 'keep the indian spicy level' for the food you are ordering. Then you will be amazed with the flavor and taste. Highly recommended to get your own experience.
Had an excellent meal here. Having just come back from holiday in India and enjoyed the great variety and regionality of the food we were so impressed with our dishes. Not the Anglicised version so often experienced elsewhere but authentic and flavoursome dishes, expertly served and at reasonable prices. We will be back.
The food here is another level. Every single dish is incredible, the ingredients are excellent. The team is lovely and extremely kind. The best Indian food I have ever had.
First visit out of curiosity. Great food at good value. Had lunch set menu. Staff was impeccable in their presentation. Compared with other places, food was great, albeit the curry’s flavour may be too strong for some (for me it’s fine). I still gave five star because I’ve yet to try more dishes and secondly the food I ate was still of very high quality presentation. I wouldn’t mind going there again and be served by amazing staff.
Loved the atmosphere, reminded me of my college days in India. Overall the food was amazing, a collection of dishes from the various states of India, all freshly made. Service is slow and avoid ordering Masala tea before your meal. It comes very late and is lukewarm. The highlight was the Goat meat curry and the paan ice cream, excellent 👍
The food was genuinely delicious, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming throughout our visit. The dishes offered a refreshing twist compared to typical Indian restaurant fare, each one beautifully presented and rich in flavour. The restaurant itself has comfortable, well-arranged seating that makes for a relaxed dining experience, and there is plenty of parking available, which adds to the overall convenience. Altogether, this is certainly one of the better Indian restaurants we’ve visited, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Service and atmosphere top at this restaurant! Weekend lunch menu also very good value - 20 pounds for a starter, main, rice/naan and dessert 🤌🏾 rice slightly undercooked but food otherwise great - will be back to try the a la carte :)
This restaurant had great food and great staff. The waiter was attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. At one point the chef came out and asked every table how the food was and to answer any questions. We had a number of dishes to share around our group, my personal favourite was the lamb coconut fry. What made this better was a decent Indian white wine we swallowed throughout the meal. Would recommend and giving it 4 stars until I go back and try different items on the menu. Then it’s most likely a 5 star.
Set in a nice and cosy venue, Potli is a great place for authentic Indian food packed with flavour. The prawn masala is super rich and the sauce is one you won’t forget in a hurry. The dal makani is creamy and spicy in equal measure while the chicken masala has a super rich and tasty gravy. The naan’s are crunchy and fluffy to help you mop up everything.
Birthday and a treat in Potli is a Lovely combination ! Offers some authentic Indian food. Loved the ambiance and food was quite tasty! Recommended for all the Indian guys out here ! A tad high on price but it's justified for the taste and service and ambiance!!
The food is amazing.Everything is great. The atmosphere teleports you to India. Ash the manager is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
Great food and service but the cocktails need an improvement. I loved the lamb shank. Bread was absolutely amazing! Thank you
Good indian restaurant. A bit expensive for what it is. Portions are good and food has very good taste but I guess they add a lot of sweetness in it which does not qualify it to be healthy unfortunately. Staff are friendly however.
The food was very bland, with little taste, and expensive, but the service was good. It all seemed a massive rip off. Mainly the customers were non-Indians when I went so I guess they cater the food for them
