This is my third time visiting this branch. The food was very good, served timely and tasted very good. We had 4 different types of sushi including California, spicy tuna, soft shell and ebi panko - I enjoyed all of them. The edamame had a spicy sauce, I usually get the grilled edamame which I prefer. The broccoli is my favourite, a must have. The service is good and the staff are friendly.
returned to sticks n sushi @ the shoreditch branch after enjoying my experience @ the victoria one - the two are vastly different but i still had a great time! i made a booking for Saturday evening and it was understandably rather busy, and ill leave an honest review but take with a grain of salt as they appeared to be recovering from quite a rush alongside being potentially understaffed... the waiting time to be seated felt disproportionately long, some food items took muuuch longer to come out than others, and i had to ask for tap water multiple times before i got it..but at the end of the day i empathise with service workers, its rough out there especially after a rush!! didn't change the fact that the staff were friendly and the food was delicious, and overall it was a great evening. the dj is a nice touch although me and my dad found ourselves shouting at eachother to be heard - its a personal preference, just be aware the atmosphere may not be as zen on saturdays! 100% would return on a quieter day :-)
I came alone for some sushi and cocktails, and I must recommend to anybody nearby. I especially would like to thank my waiter, Emil, for his outstanding hospitality and attentiveness during the service. Everything was on point, and I left feeling satisfied and well looked after - I will definitely return, not only for the amazing food and cocktails, but for the astonishing service and attention to detail imbued by all.
Sharee took fantastic care of us and was super patient. Food was great, as always, no notes. We had a vegan member in our party and she wasn’t disappointed with the food selection (maybe a second vegan desert option would be a good addition to the menu!). This branch is a new go-to. Thank you team
Found this via TikTok 👀(my friend does not approve of me finding places to eat through TikTok but I think he seemed good with this choice) Took my friend here for his belated birthday. This place looked kinda fancy, the decor was nice, service and plating too! Also we had a lovely Fuji Caress which is a non alcoholic spirit shaken with matcha and grapefruit soda, it had a tang for sure, it came with branded plastic straw also the table settings was cute, each chopstick came with a pebble to rest on and all different sizes. Also when I made this booking there was options for certain occasions so I put birthday and then later the waitress we had brought out some sort of dessert on a stick (I forgot what it was and tasted like as we went in April 2024) We went with the Capre Diem set and some extras. Personally my favourite was the ebi bites and salmon carpaccio 😇 Honestly can not find any negatives in this place, maybe just smaller plates for dishes or bigger tables but that can’t be helped 😅 but also some dishes had wasabi and yeah.. The Yaki yagi felt a little too much as it was goats cheese. I did not enjoy it, it didn’t feel quite right in the set but it is what it is. Would definitely come again with more people as I’d like to try the larger platters c: Friends opinion: good decor, 5/5, easy to understand the menu, the set we chose was filling. Service was good, good portions, would make a great date place. Would go again.
We had a great meal here. We were greeted with a smile and the service was efficient. The sushi was tasty with some interesting combinations. It is not high end sushi but it’s pretty good and well presented. It’s spacious so we could just walk in without need for reservation. Would definitely go back.
The sushi and staff were absolutely amazing! Once I started eating, I just wanted more and more, everything was that good. The food arrived in the perfect amount of time, with barely any waiting, which made the experience even better. The staff were so attentive, regularly checking in to see how everything was and topping up my water without me needing to ask. I was so busy enjoying the food that I barely got any pictures of the sushi 😓 — always a good sign though! Highly recommend for both the quality of the food and the great service.
The service was top-notch; the staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Our food came out quickly, and it was delicious and really filling. We couldn't finish everything, but the staff packed up the leftovers in these really nice takeaway boxes, complete with chopsticks and soy sauce, which was a great touch. Overall, it was an awesome experience. Highly recommend checking this place out!
The bottomless brunch is a must-try. We were seated immediately but it took 15 minutes to have our first order taken. Luckily this wasn’t a representation of the speed for the rest of our booking as the waiting staff became very attentive from then on. They were very helpful and explained the menu in detail. The food was incredible and the drinks kept flowing! Worth every penny and will definitely return
I had a much better experience than I expected. The food was very tasty and well-prepared, and the sushi in particular was fresh and full of flavor. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the evening. The highlight for me was definitely the dessert – even better than the main courses and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, a great place to enjoy good food with a warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back.
Loved everything about this place! From the shout outs when you walk in to the lush food! The service was exceptional. Our waiter gave strong recommendations and was very attentive. He brought over some glasses of water as he anticipated we might be thirsty! I liked that you could order bits and pieces of everything on the menu, from sushi rolls, to sashimi, sticks and salad. Everything was delicious and so well presented. I was most impressed by the desert. In fact I was pleasantly surprised. I am not a big fan of dark chocolate, but this fondue with matcha filling was divine. It was a perfect balance of sweet and bitter, with a delightful green matcha oozing from the warm centre (image below)! I wish they had one of these down in the south west - maybe open one up in Exeter or Torquay please ??! ☺️
A very pleasant, atmospheric place. Delicious food, the best sushi I've ever had. Thomas gave excellent advice on choosing dishes from the menu and selecting wine. I was surprised by the level of care given to my 2-year-old son, who was given a special menu, crayons and delicious lemonade. A great experience that I would love to repeat!
I came here with my friend on the weekend and we had such a lovely time. The staff are so attentive and give great cocktail recommendations! Not to mention it's absolutely beautiful in the restaurant. Food is 10/10, highly recommend the mushroom croquettes... I'm not a fan of mushrooms but it was so delicious (trust me!). Can't wait to book another dinner soon.
I hosted an event at Sticks’n’Sushi and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The team were incredibly supportive throughout the planning process and on the day itself, making everything run smoothly from start to finish. The atmosphere was exactly what I’d hoped for, the food was outstanding, and guests had nothing but positive things to say all evening. It was a pleasure working with such a professional and attentive team, and I’d absolutely host another event here.
Went for dinner with a couple of my friends and had an amazing evening, the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The cocktails were spot-on too. What really stood out was the professional yet friendly service; the team were attentive without being overbearing and made us feel really welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special. A great place for both a casual dinner or a night out with friends. Can’t wait to be back x
Popped in for drinks and ended up staying for the food and I'm so glad I did. The vibe is effortlessly cool, perfect for a Shoreditch evening. The beef tataki absolutely to die for. Beautifully tender with just the right amount of everything. Drinks were super fun and delicious. I recommend the matcha cake!! Great spot for a casual night that turns into something more..
This was an excellent experience. The decor and the layout inside is lovely and it has a great atmosphere. The food itself was really good quality. The sushi and sashimi was very fresh and tasted unbelievable. For me, the platters are a must. They’re brilliant to order in bigger groups as you get to experience a lot more too. The “sticks” side of the meal didn’t hit the same as the rest of it but the Karaage (fried chicken) gets a special mention as it was unreal. Overall it’s a excellent restaurant, well worth and we will be returning.
sticks n sushi is one of my favourite restaurants purely because of how fabulous their tasting menus are! my best friend and i visited for my birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. this was my first time visiting the Shoreditch branch (i’ve been to the Covent Garden one) and the experience was almost identical! we had the ‘set for success’ tasting menu with an array of sushi, sticks and starters and LOVED each one! they custom made our drinks upon request as they were not on the menu; i had a spicy margarita and my friend had a passion fruit margarita. we also had a yuzu seltzer and a purple rain, we preferred the yuzu seltzer but i think that’s just based on personal preference! the service was so attentive and Ema was extremely kind and constantly checked in on us. overall you get a fabulous dinning experience with such good value for money!
Wow just amazing the only issues was to much choice so will need to go back a few more times
Really nice and vibrant restaurant in tje heart of shoreditch! Well decorated, friendly staff and really good quality food! Sushis and skeweres and cauliflower were amazing. I totally recommend, a bit pricey but worth it for a good occasion!
Fabulous service and thoroughly delicious food 😋 thanks Thomas! And huge thanks to Luke for arranging everything we had an amazing time!!
This was one of the best sushi places we’ve been to. We were a group of five, our daughter (who is studying in London) recommended the place, and took us there. The atmosphere was amazing, the food and drinks were incredible, and Christine was the cherry on top. She was very professional, friendly, always had a smile on her face, really one of the nicest people we’ve met. Thank you Christine! you’ve made this dinner much more enjoyable.
Sticks’n’Sushi in Shoreditch offers a vibrant and creative dining experience that blends Japanese and Nordic cuisines with impeccable presentation. The setting is stylish yet relaxed, making it an ideal spot for an indulgent meal. Our meal included a variety of beautifully prepared dishes. The Tuna Tartar on Crispy Rice was a delightful starter, featuring fresh tuna paired with creamy avocado atop crisp, golden bites. The sushi platter was another highlight, including the Pink Alaska Roll, Ebi Panko Roll, and Rainbow Roll, each offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures with fresh fish, crunchy tempura, and creamy sauces. For dessert, the Lemon Yuzu Tart with a torched meringue topping stood out with its tangy, refreshing flavor and perfect sweetness. The Choco Sticks (a combination of chocolate and vanilla ice creams) were equally satisfying, offering a rich and creamy conclusion to the meal. Every dish was a visual and culinary delight, and the combination of fresh ingredients and innovative recipes made for a memorable experience. Although slightly on the pricier side, the quality and creativity make it worth every penny.
we picked and chose from the extensive a la carte rather than opting for one of the proposed menus, and everything we had was fantastic. blown away by the tuna tartare bites, the buta yaki, the hotate bacon, and tsukune. very nice ambience. service was a bit slow (difficult to get attention for water refill etc) - seemed understaffed, but extremely friendly and welcoming anyway.
Atmosphere is cool and service is swift and friendly. While I loved the sushi, other food like croquettes and cauliflower were the standouts for me. Great cocktails as well, especially loved the yuzu punch.
One of the best sushi places in London. Great, fresh Sushi and excellent appetizers. The dessert was very tasty. We would come back at any time!
First time visiting and will not be the last. A big thank you to Nikolaos K for his impeccable service. He was prompt, Kind, caring, and knowledgable about the food and had a friendly demeanour about him. He made us all happy and comfortable. On to the food - Lovely and fresh, bright colours, full of flavour. The decor and ambience is perfect. It was my dads birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it especially because of the service from Nikoloas. I look forward to visiting again.
This is my favourite sushi restaurant in London. Very affordable, freshly made sushi, lots to choose from the menu, the cocktails are strong and the staff are super friendly. They have branches across London and they offer a great rewards program.
I usually dine here when I do late nights at the office, this year I recommended Sticks'n'Sushi for our Christmas dinner and it was a HIT! Everyone loved it, we ended ordering more food than planned and I recall one of the directors mentioning it was the sushi he'd ever had. It was a lovely evening and the staff were very attentive.
We went for a bottomless brunch and was catered to by Moe and she was so attentive and kind, fabulous service we were blown away by how great she was, made our experience 12/10! Thanks to Moe and all the chefs / drink makers!! Thank you
I visited this restaurant with my 2 boys who are rather particular eaters. The food was phenomenal and was matched only by the service. We felt welcome and at home, needs were anticipated and nothing was a bother. We loved everything about the experience of our meal. Get off the fence and into a dining experience that will leave you feeling nourished in more ways than one
I took my team here for the fixed menu for a late lunch and it was absolutely fantastic for £30 ahead. None of us could quite finish what had been served up and we ended up taking quite a bit back with us really lovely friendly service and a wide variety of cocktails and soft drinks were available they were also especially attentive around a food intolerance and advised on alternatives.. This is not my first time at this restaurant but it was my first time bringing people from work and we were very happy with both the service the quantity and the quality of food. I would absolutely go here again but I cannot comment on whether or not the Alloc heart is just as good .
I tried the Sticks’n’Sushi brunch which is held at the Shoreditch restaurant. There was a DJ but unlike some other bottomless brunches it had a chilled ambience. The food was incredible and there was plenty of it, there is a selection of starters that are brought out and then you choose your sticks & sushi dishes. Drinks were nice but limited if you wanted cocktails as they only did a bloody mary’s and the drinks service was a little slow especially as you want to try and leverage the 90 minute of bottomless. This being said, it’s not your typical boozy brunch and the food is definitely the purpose for going.
We had a great birthday dinner party at Sticks n Sushi Shoreditch. The restaurant is quite large with a nice central bar. There is ample tables spread around in the main dining room. The interior design is good with subdued light. The menu is mainly sushi and other Japanese food. The menu offers several Sharing platters which combine a variety of the dishes on offer. We took advantage of 2 of the Sharing platters. The Sushi dishes were all good however the same cannot be said of the "Sticks" which were mainly wrapped in bacon and with little variety. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the overall ambience was great. Certainly a place to visit if you enjoy Sushi in a well appointed location.
Lovely evening at Sticks’n’Sushi. The atmosphere is very zen and relaxing, the colour palette of the restaurant give a nice sense of warmness. The food has a varied range of flavours profile, the places are well presented. The cocktail was great, refreshing and tangy. I would recommend mostly for 3+ people as the menu allow to try quite few pieces.
We visited for the ‘all you can sip’ bottomless brunch. Firstly the thing that really let this restaurant down for us was the service, when you are offering a bottomless menu, you need to make sure you are attentive at filling people’s glasses up. Unfortunately we were made to wait 15 minutes until someone acknowledged us and explained the menu. I also had to ask multiple times for a refill. The restaurant wasn’t busy but the servers didn’t seem to be paying attention to our drinks glasses. The food on the other hand was outstanding and there was plenty of it. We really enjoyed the concept of the menu and you do get to try a lot of dishes. I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for a bottomless, as there are plenty of other restaurants in London that are more attentive in regards to the bottomless drinks and cheaper. However I would definitely recommend if you were to go here and order from the standard menu as the food is definitely worth it.
Really pretty place, it’s big but spacious. I had a really nice lychee martini. I wasn’t very hungry but I had scallops, chicken wings, lamb and salmon on sticks with a side of rice, was lovely
Great overpriced small plates. Thats the best way to describe this place. Quality? Yes. But the price is not worth it when you still leave hungry because the plates are so small (even put my finger in one of them for relativeness). Yet, fish is great and truffle sauce in that cauliflower plate was waw. Service was good too.
Good tasting sushi. We’ve ordered Four Meal Drive and Perfect Day for party of 6. Portion was just nice. The restaurant is dog friendly as well. Good location for birthday lunch. The restaurant connects to another cafe as well. The staffs were kind enough to let us order some coffee over but be sure to ask first.
Visited: Saturday evening, 18/10/25 The food was genuinely great, and most of the staff were amazing - which made our experience all the more disappointing because of our assigned waitress (blonde, lip piercing). I’ve honestly never seen someone so inconsistent, slow, and unfriendly. She started off fine with drinks, but after that, things really fell apart. Other staff members actually noticed we hadn’t ordered for quite a while after our drinks arrived and kindly stepped in to take our order instead. Our starter came and went, and after another 30 minutes, we had to ask a passing waiter about our mains, since our waitress had completely disappeared. It turned out our food had just been sitting in the pass - which explained the wait. Thankfully, that same passing waiter was super friendly and helpful, really trying to make up for the delay. At the end, we asked for some food to take away. She dropped the bag off in such a hurry she didn’t even look at us, and when we tried to get her attention again for the bill, she ignored us for about 15 minutes. Another waitress eventually helped us out - again, cheerful and efficient. When our original waitress finally returned with the bill, I went to tap my card, but the payment didn’t go through. With the live DJ and loud music, I didn’t hear what she said, so I asked, “Sorry?” and she snapped at me. I’ve never had that happen in a restaurant before (apart from Paris!). Overall, the food and most of the team were fantastic, but the service from our waitress really soured the evening. It’ll definitely be a while before we return.
We arrived at 11:35am because Google and their website says they are open. When we arrived they turned us away saying that they serve breakfast until a certain time and that they were “switching” from breakfast to lunch. We left to go eat poke across the street at “Inka Poke”. Wonderful place! Fresh fish and wonderful service! I truly recommend Inka Poke and encourage you all to go support them instead.
Worst experience ever at this branch. We sat for over 30mins before we were seen to. We ordered our food, 3 rolls. Waited over an hour and our food was sent to a table that sat after us. A waiter came over and asked how was the food - I was like we didn’t even get our food. An hour and half later we got our 3 rolls… However only saving grace was that the manager came at the end and apologised sincerely - that meant a lot to us. He offered us free desserts and took the service charge off of course. The manager saved the experience however, the front of house ladies who were at the entrance of the door, were appalling. The waiter that took out was appalling. Shoutout to the one manager (young lad). Everyone else needs to fix up.
