Mariem is the nicest bar staff ever!! We have now seen her multiple times when we have come and she is so kind and makes us feel so welcome. She has made our day!
The Hansom Lounge is the perfect spot for a drink. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant, the staff are attentive without being intrusive, and the cocktails are genuinely excellent. A special mention to Marius, who was lovely, helpful, and made an outstanding Charlie Chaplin cocktail. A fantastic experience and highly recommended for a refined yet comfortable experience!
Wonderful experience having champagne afternoon tea (£75pp). Waiter was lovely, good as amazing - probably best vegan afternoon tea i ever had and my mum said the normal one was also excellent - and the location was exceptional. I also had a cheeky cocktail and it was expertly made. Highly recommended 👌
I recently visited for afternoon tea and loved the experience. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, with live violin music and beautiful tableware that created the perfect ambiance. The food was delicious: freshly baked scones, delicate sandwiches, and a variety of beautiful and delicious cakes. Everything tasted fresh and was prepared with care. What truly made our visit memorable, however, was our server, Paola. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making sure we had everything we needed while explaining each item on the tea tray with a smile. Her recommendations for tea pairings were spot-on, and she checked in on us just the right amount—never intrusive, always caring. Highly recommend this place.
I came here for afternoon tea for my birthday and they exceeded all of my expectations. The food was delicious, the sandwiches were lovely and the bread was so soft, the scones were warm and delicious, the cakes were amazing, I also like that they gave us one of each for both of us. There was a lemon meringue, a coffee based one, a coconut based one, and a chocolate based pastry/cake, and they were all mouth-wateringly good. They had a great selection of different teas that you can have as much as you like of, and they even offered us more sandwiches. The decor is beautiful and the service was exceptional. They were very attentive and catered to all of our needs. The staff really helped to make my day extra special. There was even a person playing a harp in the dining area which was beautiful. I can’t wait to go back!
Hansom at the St Pancras International hotel is such a relaxing sanctuary in the heart of the city! Their tea (especially the Japanese black tea) and scones were so nice we had to have it twice! Alex was most hospitable and knowledgeable with tea types too (ask for his recommendations). We'd love to be back.
We visited for afternoon tea (3 adults and one 4yr old). The atmosphere was relaxing, the food was tasty and there was a wide selection of teas. Mariem provided brilliant service and the staff were very child friendly.
We visited The Hansom on Saturday with friends for a Christmas day out and was certainly not disappointed at our first stop where we were served by the lovely Mariem. She was very polite and attentive towards us and really was a credit to the hotel. The seating area we had our drinks in was flooded by sunlight, making it a warm and cosy atmosphere with a little sparkle of Christmas in every corner.
Excellent customer service. Delicious food and drink at The Hansom. Relaxed vibe. Lunch from Chicken Caesar salad to fish and chips. From afternoon tea of clotted cream scones to smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches and desserts to melt in your mouth from Chocolate and cherry gateau, St Pancras Battenberg cake to lemon curd eclairs and Victoria sponge cake. Green and mint tea and Jasmine tea to Oolang tea or coffee and hot chocolate. Or a glass of Prosecco or champagne. Comfy seating and jazz music in the background. Definitely worth visiting for a booked table. The menu catered for my allergy to peanuts only and I felt very happy that nothing on the menu had peanuts so I really enjoyed afternoon tea at The Hansom. I hope that everyone will buy my first book Parachuting in the name of Charity by Rushmi Sethi released worldwide soon when available on Amazon whilst my publisher has a deadline time limit for worldwide publication. Merci beaucoup.

I come to here every Sunday with friends to see Mariem. She makes my week and is a massive asset to the hotel. Never had such a friendly experience in London, she recognises me every week and always makes amazing recommendations for cocktails and food. See you next Sunday!
We enjoyed excellent service and the food was very delicious. I arrived with a Buyagift voucher and received everything expected and more. Stephanie served us and she was very attentive and polite. We were allowed to choose from the full range of teas on the menu and could try as many as we liked! We received a bottle of Champagne 🍾 and a delicious afternoon tea selection. I would 💯 recommend.
An amazing evening and a beautiful experience we were served by Mariusz with an exceptional customer service. Location is amazing we will be returning for sure. All praise to Mariusz who was very attentive and great suggestions on drinks as well just what we all needed.
Had a fabulous afternoon tea as part of the High time for tea spa package. The service was absolutely spot on particularly Candy and Fauda who couldn't have done more for us. It made the day super special and created a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The afternoon tea itself was exquisite and generous, every single mouthful was delicious!Thank you for being accommodating of different dietary requests with no fuss. We tried at least 3 different tasty teas, I particularly liked the chocolate tea and the jasmine one !
Had an amazing time with my sister for afternoon tea as a birthday treat! Erica was our fabulous host and she really made our evening with really good recommendations. We felt very well looked after. We even got little hot chocolates to take away afterwards. We couldn't have asked for more. Best afternoon tea experience 🤍
The Hansom, located within St Pancras, is a fantastic spot to visit if you have some spare time before a journey. Its beautiful interior creates a relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect place to unwind when near St Pancras or King's Cross. Highly recommend stopping by!
Fantastic afternoon with the girls. The service was second none, lovely food, beautiful space with live music that created a very special atmosphere.
Fantastic restaurant. Went for a afternoon tea. Good service, really good food. Beautiful setting. Recommend to visit and enjoy the experience
the tea is okay and cakes and scone are good! the price is also valued to experience afternoon tea in the ancient house
Mother’s Day afternoon tea at the Hansom was lovely. We were greeted by the very lovely Alex who was charming, friendly and very attentive. We had the warmest of welcomes! The ambience was lovely. There was a violinist who serenaded the guests, the surrounding architecture was mesmerising and the waiting staff were exceptional. I didn’t catch our waiters name sadly (my mistake) but he was brilliant. He popped up at the right time each time, was not intrusive, was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, courteous and smiled the whole time we were there. The afternoon tea itself was very nice. A little tartlet to start for which the pastry was exquisitely light. A selection of finger sandwiches with an additional refill (the smoked salmon was my fav) some plain and raisin scones beautiful light and warm with strawberry and gooseberry jam, and deliciously addictive clotted cream, a selection of 4 handcrafted desserts (blood orange & chocolate definitely my fav) and a lavender cake with complimentary champagne for mum. A truly wonderful experience. Mum felt very special, not least because Alex made her feel like the most important lady in the room. Even escorted us to the spectacular staircase where he kindly took photos of us. Definitely above and beyond in service. Thanks to everyone who made it so memorable. Truly grateful ☺️
The food was good. The staff were all lovely. I went for afternoon tea and had my baby with me. The women's loos with a changing area were out of order, so one of the members of staff escorted me up to the spa, and carried my bag, to have a safe and comfortable space to change him. Very relaxed and comfortable space and beautifully bright.
i was around the area and decided to go for lunch at The Hansom and had a wonderful club sandwich. It was very well presented and the serve was very generous. Lee, is a very nice and helpful waiter and Fadua the bartender really aced with that cocktail St Pancras Rayale. Everything was really good and i would totally go back soon.
Lovely afternoon tea at this iconic hotel. Good selection of sandwiches and desserts. Nice buzzing atmosphere and was filled even on a Tuesday post lunch. Staff were brilliant and attentive - our waitress was Aurora who was great. Highly recommend, especially after a visit to their spa.
Hey, I had a great time in London. I stayed at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel with my family for a few days. The building is beautiful and the location is great. The rooms weren't that impressive, but the bar service was amazing. This guy named Marius gave us incredible service on our last night in London. It was so good that I'm thinking of going back to London just to visit the Hansom bar again. My friend had the steak diane, which looked delicious and was presented beautifully. I had pasta, which was tasty, but I kind of regretted not getting the steak after seeing how good it looked. Definitely recommend the place.
Had an incredible experience today for afternoon tea. The flavors were incredible and absolutely unmissable however the service today absolutely made the experience, Ana who served us was perfect and incredibly attentive, she had a flawless awareness of what the table needed and when and she also knew the entire menu fluently. Thank you for making our experience so great. Looking forward to coming back.

With their warm hospitality, you'll feel like a valued guest from the moment you step through the door. 👥🙌 🌲AJ's Suggestion to cafe🌲 🍵☕️ AJ suggests expanding the variety of afternoon tea sets, including some lower-priced options. This would provide guests with more choices and make the delightful experience of an afternoon tea accessible to a wider audience. 🌱👌
Delightful atmosphere when I arrived with beautiful Christmas tree and a harpist playing. But after she finished the music was less relaxing and a bit too loud. Service was OK. I had to wait 10 mins and then ask for a menu and had to ask twice for my bill. Scones were warm, fluffy and delicious but definitely on the tinier side. Tea leaves escaped from the pot into my cup... no strainer.
We had coffees here in the mid-morning, and it was relatively busy but still some free tables. The atmosphere was wonderful, with quiet music in the background. The coffees were £7 each, very expensive but expected for this kind of place. The coffees tasted very nice and came with small shortbreads.
The venue is great, featuring the fusion of the modern architectural elements from the St Pancras int'l train station and classical architecture from the St Pancras Cathedral. The food was good, but the selection is rather limited. It is right inside the Renaissance Hotel as its lobby.
We had the 2-course pre-paid lunch as part of their spa experience and you only get a couple items to choose from. The food itself was very average, I had the steak which was slightly tough. Not worth it considering the price. The staff however were very polite and attentive, even if the food did take a while to come out.
The bar is situated in the hall of the St. Pancras hotel that occupies a very impressive building. The space, even being an opened one, is well organized and allows for calm conversations. The lighting in the evening is lovely and creates a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. Even though the space is huge, it’s warm and comfortable. The cocktails are really nice, the worst part is the food. I’ve got a chicken schnitzel that was completely burnt, and being the one and only part of the dish, except for a small portion of greens, it’s definitely a shame that poor bird was treated in such a cruel way. I was in a hurry so tried to get some healthy parts of the chicken which wasn’t really easy so most of the chicken stayed on the plate. When paying, I informed the ladies about the problem but they didn’t act upon it in any way. Would repeat but go for some basic snacks avoiding real food.
We've been in the other restaurants of this hotel and wanted to try the afternoon tea with my husband and parents. The place is amazing, perfect space for chilling and enjoying a nice moment. We appreciated the decoration and loved the light coming from the glass ceiling. There isn't too much noise so you can discuss and it was also ideal for our 6 month baby to take a nap. The waitress was very professional and helpful. The only disappointment for me, who did quite a few afternoon teas in London, is the food quality. The price of the afternoon tea is high (70 pounds) and the sandwiches are basic, and the pastries aren't that good. The scones also weren't that great. For this price, I do expect a better quality of food, especially as I compare it to other afternoon teas i did with the same price range.
Afternoon tea review! The building is the most beautiful part of experience, it truly is wonderful! However, it doesn’t feel like “an occasion” place. We were seated for afternoon tea next to a family who had obviously checked out of the hotel and had some time to waste (sleeping on the suitcases etc). No cloakroom that we was offered (unless we missed that) so coats just on the chairs! Service was very slow and sporadic, we had to ask for more tea as we’d been sat so long without being offered fresh that our tea was cold. Sandwich was nice, cakes ok, but overall we felt a little unchecked upon and it all felt a little random and not very special! For the price we would have expected much much better service and atmosphere! If you like cold tea in hotel reception vibes, you’ll love it! If you want to feel special this might leave you wanting! Nice to experience but I wouldn’t return or recommend.
Lovely atmosphere as you can see in some of the photos. We had afternoon tea. Food was yummy my only issue was that I only liked one of the patisserie so felt like I was missing out on a few of the options. Service was sporadic. It took a while for us to get service once sat down (30mins for water to arrive at the table) and from then on it was understood it was our responsibility to attract attention when service needed. Seems to be consistent with the rest of the reviews/ comments on service. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the money.
Had high tea here. Hard time getting service despite the many open seats. On the fence about coming back or recommending it
Arrived early. Seated very promptly. Nice Staff. Service was good polite staff. Food was ok. Felt like we were all seated in a Hallway. Service was a little slower than other venues we visited. Did not really get the feel of the place. No real ambience. Nice but was expecting something more luxurious. People were walking by in their hotel dressing gowns to visit the Spa. Not really what you want to see when you are chilling and having Afternoon Tea. Would I recommend probably not. Would I Visit again Maybe but would not be one of my first choices. Only a small choice of cocktails/Mocktails. Felt the the toilets were more luxurious than the tea lounge. Hand Towels were not topped up in the toilet. We have to use tissues to dry our hands. Nice Soap & Hand lotions provided in the toilets.
Service needs to be more attentive please. And direction on how you operate would be really useful - we felt like fish out of water trying to get a drink.
Beautiful space. Service is slow, but okay. Drinks are good. The biggest issue for me is the infestation of mice running around the entire bar/seating areas. Not one, but many. Some are running across the carpet and even onto seats where people will sit. I would not recommend for this reason. London has so many beautiful restaurants and bars to choose from. The mice ruin St Pancras.
On the photo you can see "finger sandwiches" for £10 (basically three mini sandwiches that are 20% the size of a normal sandwich) and "breakfast tea", which we ordered to meet the £14 "minimum spend". Although the building looks nice, to justify these high prices you would need to offer excellent customer service, which is unfortunately not the case. With our party of four we placed various orders, including different types of coffee, and about half of them did not arrive and had be re-ordered; this didn't happen once, but multiple times during a timeframe of two and a half hours. When enquiring about sandwiches, we were given different information about the availability, about four times. When they arrived, it was a bit of a disappointment (see photo). There seems to be plenty of staff, but no functional system of taking and processing orders, as you would expect in such establishment.
We went for afternoon tea for 5 as a celebration and unfortunately it was rather a disappointment. From taking our seats, it took about 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table and another 20 minutes before a aingle cup of tea arrived followed by the our sandwiches. We could (and did) order several more teas and a coffee, but since each took about 20 minutes to arrive, we often had a need for something to help wash down the scone or cake. The place was quite busy, but the waiters certainly didn't seem rushed off their feet. When they came, the sandwiches were excellent - actually for me the best bit. The scones were visibility undercooked, although the gooseberry jam and cream was delicious. After that were 4 small cakes. While each individually was beautifully crafted and the first bite was a wow, 4 creamy moose cakes with nothing else were just too sweet. For £60 per head (I insisted on removing the service charge from the bill) without even a drop of alcohol, the experience should have been much better.
Slow service - I would have ordered another drink but it took a while to first be seated so that was a red flag, there was no hostess for a while so I stood there as staff within the restaurant just looked at me. It wasn’t overly busy. I ordered a drink once seated it did come quickly but after drinking - my empty cup sat on the table for a long time - I waited a while to finally get some attention so I decided to close out my order versus getting more items. I would have reordered if they came attentively or even asked / noticed. Why I’m actually upset (I wouldn’t have even mentioned the drink issue, I let things go usually as mistakes happen in food & beverage) - I wanted to capture content with my iPhone in this historic hotel’s public space (the restaurant I was in and grand staircase. I asked prior to doing so and they said yes - concierge) then as I’m capturing the space, a security guard comes up to me and tells me and no one else I cannot film. He said I can take photos, however he didn’t stop anyone else so it felt very pointed. I am the only person of colour in this space, the restaurant was already a miss and now to be ostracized like this is the nail in the coffin. I’m an architectural journalist visiting from Dubai and was so excited to capture just a dot of this iconic neo-gothic space. Ironically many years ago this hotel offered me an influencer stay to blog about but I couldn’t make it due to prior travel commitments. News flash, black young men love architecture and culture too. Don’t run your biggest fans away. I was highlighting St. Pancras as one of London’s greatest urban regeneration projects … sigh
We were incredibly disappointed. The 6 of us were seated around three tables and it was quite dark so it was hard to hear each other. The food was nothing special- the cakes were obviously bought elsewhere, the scones and sandwiches were very ordinary. The service was slow even though there weren’t many other people. Given the exorbitant cost, we felt this was unacceptable. It’s a pity because it’s an amazing venue and has been renovated to a high standard.
Family of 4 arrived at 4:45pm, did not get even receive service even after waiting to nearly 5pm. Pity as atmosphere & deco is good. Plenty of free seating at before dinner, not busy at all. Waiting staff just looked on, did not even acknowledge us. For a hotel level lounge/cafe, this is terrible service just to wait to be seated. hence we just left. Only acknowledgement we got was from door staff on entry & exit.
MICE EVERYWHERE!!!!! Beautiful building but mice scurrying past while I paid £100+ for cocktails is definitely not the vibe I was hoping for.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RISK: There was a MOUSE running about as I was eating finger sandwiches. Staff was non existent, had to get up twice to tell someone and head over to the reception area, the staff lady did not even ask if I’d liked to move to another area - I went back to my seat and the mouse was STILL THERE. 🤮🤮🤮 update: the restaurant hasn’t replied to me about fully resolving the matter yet.
