in the bustle of borough market you will find the Wright Brothers oyster and seafood restaurant. Known for this oysters both in house and spilling to restaurants across the country this cosy and bustling restaurant is perfect if in the mood for sea food. Promotional offers are frequently offered for oysters if wanting to try but not commit to a whole portion. The other seafood is fantastic with a strong main menu and regularly changing specials. Highly recommend if this is your thing!

Love love love!!! This restaurant is a gem, offering incredibly fresh oysters that are a treat for any seafood lover. The trout I had was perfectly cooked and seasoned, showcasing their expertise in flavor balance. I got a bar seat (luckily) since I didn't have reservation and they were pretty packed. So you'd better book a table in advance.

It’s a great place, VERY tight but with a lot of character and the food is great and decently priced, we will be coming back to sit at the bar that is for sure. They also have offers of special priced oysters in the week I believe, so definitely worth a visit!

We had the best seafood meal in my life at Wright Brothers in Borough Market on Friday evening. Everything was superb from the delicious seafood, drinks and of course the attentive staff all made our first time at Wright Brothers the best dining experience in a long time.

Fab spot with market fresh fish and seafood. Started with decent cocktails. Beautiful oysters with a Japanese dressing. A lovely ceviche with Blueberries! All starters were generous portions and mains were well cooked and tasty. Definitely recommend.

Super fresh seafood, great vibe and amazing service. The portion was big for the fruit de mer for 2. Perfect place to dine on a summer day as it was super hard for me to eat anything hot and seafood was the perfect choice. If you were to sit near the front, it is great for people watching too, highly recommend getting their bread to go with the food. I will come back.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We went for my sons 15th birthday whilst we was visiting London. We ordered a shellfish platter and it was amazing. The friendly chef took our Devon crab and dressed it so it was easier to eat. The friendly waitress let us taste different wines to suit our platter and also brought my son a free desert with a candle and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday with us. We will definately return.

There are so many great dining options in Borough Market. We stopped in Wright Brothers to get away from the crowds not imaging how good the food would be. So good, in fact, that we came back two more times during our London trip. Lovely service, nice wine list and everything we ordered was delicious .

Excellent service from the team, warm welcome on entering to recommendations on drink/food pairings which was extremely helpful as we had different food preferences and appetites. The food was exceptional, flavour, quality and presentation were very good and excellent value. The £1 oyster deal went down particularly well and we can’t wait to come back!

Always a good to of mine when I fancy some fish and I'm in Borough Market. Staff are always polite and attentive, even one of the chefs took the time to talk with me. All round great service. If your in the mood for fish then this place never fails. Always enjoy trying their different oysters. The main of cod, chickpeas and chorizo was mouthwatering and highly recommend. Always a busy and vibrant atmosphere. Must try!

Sometimes mistakes happen with an order, but what really matters is how a restaurant handles it — and Wright Bros were fantastic. The food was excellent, and while the service was a little slow, it was understandable as the restaurant was very busy. The tuna steak was outstanding.

I discovered Wright Brothers by chance one busy afternoon in London. Since then, it has become a tradition — a place I return to every time I’m in the city, knowing it will deliver an authentic and memorable experience. The seafood is exceptionally fresh, prepared simply yet with a finesse that lets the natural flavours shine. Whether it’s oysters, crab, or a generous sharing platter, every dish lives up to the promise. And the cocktail… unforgettable is the only word that does it justice. Each creation feels carefully crafted to complement the taste of the sea with a vibrant, refined touch. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience in the heart of London. Wright Brothers is more than a restaurant — it’s a state of mind.

I went for my birthday and had the best fish I've ever had. Started with a dozen oysters and scallops then had the sole and trout which was all cooked and prepared to perfection. You won't find better fish than this.

The seafood was excellent and you can see the chefs at work! They also offered very good services and knowledgeable. Such an amazing night. Love it!!

Jose was fantastic – his knowledge about oysters is exceptional, and we loved every one of his recommendations. The whole team was brilliant too, which made the experience even better! We I’ll definitely comeback 👌🏾

Got here around 3pm on Sunday, got a table facing the kitchen on the stools. Was fantastic to see the chefs at work, they were careful to make sure our food intolerances were taken care of. Our server was great, unfortunately the lady that was at the front of house was less than friendly or welcoming and had a bit of an attitude but luckily we didn’t have to deal with her beyond asking for a table. Otherwise everything was perfect.

We had a wonderful experience! The oysters were absolutely fresh and delicious — perfectly presented and full of flavor. What really made our visit special was our Colombian waitress, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. She took the time to explain everything to us, from the different types of oysters to the best pairings, and made us feel truly welcome. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and top-quality seafood — we’ll definitely be coming back! 🦪

This was such a lovely and heartwarming place. I was searching for seafood without garlic or onion (because of food intolerances). It took us a lot of walking and asking around but then we found this place and my god, they did NOT dissapoint!! Because we arrived late after rush hour, they got us some fresh seafood that was not touched by any ingredient. They asked about everything, what i could and could not eat. They took care of us like crazy! And let me tell you, the food was 10000/10. My boyfriend was very suprised about the fish and chips and loved every bite. For me, the king prawns were one of the best i've ever eaten. Thank you so much for all you guys did for us!

Fantastic seafood experience at Wright Brothers Borough Market! The seafood was fresh and beautifully prepared, and the oysters were especially good — incredibly fresh and full of flavour. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The wine selection was also excellent and paired perfectly with the food, making the whole meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is lively and relaxed, adding to the overall experience. A great spot for seafood lovers — I’ll definitely be back for more oysters!

I popped in with a friend to celebrate their birthday with some bubbles and oysters. The restaurant was completely full, so the only option available was to sit outside. Even though we only stayed for a very short time, Salvatore looked after us incredibly well and made us feel very welcome. The service was warm and attentive, which really stood out despite how busy it was. We’ll definitely be back another time to properly enjoy the experience! 🥂🦪

A friend and I went to Wright Brothers to have their much lauded Guinness and Oysters. It was worth it and I can't recommend it enough. I tried to book online but struggled due to availability because of its popularity so rang up and spoke to Luana who was incredibly helpful and helped me to secure a table at the bar. I would suggest booking well in advance. On the day, Veronica was our waitress.  She was outstanding, and through her recommendations we opted for a plate of 12 with 3 different varieties and each were delicious. When served, their flavour profiles and how to eat them was explained to us. We also had 2 of some French oysters which were divine. Variety availability varies on a daily basis but the options are extensive and all that we had were wonderful. My only gripes for our meal were with the drinks; the Guinness was excellent but whilst the glasses were clean, they weren't clean enough for Guinness. Evinced by the bubbles in the glass, but it didn't detract from the drink. The other being the 2 martinis we ordered; one was a slightly caramel flavoured with tequila one which was excellent. The original espresso martini though was disappointing and a little bit watery, though I don't think this is the norm as the former martini was excellent. But minor issues for an otherwise excellent time at Wright Brothers Borough Market. I can't recommend it enough and I will be returning. Guinness and oysters here are delectable.

My partner invited me here for dinner and he couldn’t have chosen a better place to make me happy! We loved the atmosphere, the staff, the seafood and the wine (a good bottle of white wine from Croatia, so hard to find in London!). The seafood we had has definitely been the best one in London so far, fresh bug oysters and seafood ceviche it’s something you don’t want to miss. The manager and the waitress have been incredible, very professional and friendly at the same time. I would definitely come back, hopefully soon! Thank you

Love this place so much, fantastic seafood and great wine. We loved all the dishes we had, especially enjoyed the Cod's Roe and soda bread. We visited during happy hour so Oysters were only £1 each.

V

Chill and lively place. Great value oysters at happy hour and super fast and friendly service, but be ready to pay more for regular wine, which makes sense. Best to book, walk-ins might wait like half an hour for a table (barrel) outside (still fun). Overall very pleasant experience.

An excellent spot for oysters and seafood! We went during their happy hour and had a lot of oysters for £1 a pop. Their shrimp was also good! Service was friendly, fast and on point. The place was a bit loud and hot - maybe the management can consider using their AC’s. Will definitely be back!

This is an authentic seafood specialist in the bustling Borough Market. I love visiting local markets. Borough market is no exception. Colourful varieties with full of energy. And this energy extends to the Wright Brothers. It's a cozy place, so must book ahead. After squeezed through group of casual drinkers, we got seats by the bar looking to kitchen area. See how the dishes are freshed prepared. We started with perfectly grilled scallops followed by shellfish platter which was served on bed of ice. I enjoyed the oysters so had to other another half dozen. We finished our meal with wholesome fish pie. Every dish were tasty. The bill came to £100 (incl. 2 glasses of wine) for two people. I fully enjoyed evening and will visit here again.

We had an amazing dinner at Wright brothers Borough Market branch. Our main server, Evelyn was wonderful! So sweet and honest and super helpful with recommendations. The food was high quality seafood, good portions and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend and will be going back!

As usual food was great. We started with a mix of native Oysters, plus Japanese and Rockefeller. Followed by skate wing and fish pie. All very delicious. Service was excellent. A general busy but cosy vibe. Recommend sitting at the dining bar so you can watch them make the dishes.

We finally had the chance to dine at this popular restaurant. It’s located just outside the Borough Market and near the London Bridge. It was busy when we were there. Booking is essential. This place is very intimate and has a bar. An upscale restaurant and has a modern vibe to it. The food was tasty and delicious. I truly enjoyed the Linguine Vongole. Service was excellent. Quick and easy. No wonder it’s always busy. Fully recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and our experience. Happened upon Wright Brothers Borough Market our first night in London and went back for final night a week later. Oysters, fresh and tasty. Service excellent. Good and small wine selection. Deserts over the top. We'll be back on our next trip to London! Cheers

We had a brilliant meal and our night was made special thanks to our great server Felix. He was friendly, attentive and made all the right recommendations! He had us in stitches the whole meal through without ever feeling intrusive. Amazing service and amazing food

Was looking for oysters and googled got me this place. Oysters are pretty awesome! Mussels are okay but portion is very generous. We ordered a bit too much and wish the server could give us a nudge when we order food! Well, this is a good food joint but a bit pdicey.

p
paul lunney

Pricey but good, the oysters £1 deal is between 3pm and 5 pm. Not a lot of table room, they pack you on a bit. But again the food is great.

C
Claire

Great service, friendly staff, the bar seating was fun. The happy hour oysters were fantastic and the halibut was also great. The mussels were a little bland and gritty but not bad, we still ate most of them.

E

Smiley and welcoming staff and nice environment. We are not big eater so ordered cooked oysters (Bombay and Rockefeller), fish soup and croquettes. Oysters were almost like raw which is not to my liking. It tasted like only the sauce was cooked. I was disappointed on that. Fish soup was very tasty as well as croquettes. A bit pricey.

H

The seafood here was generally very good. We ordered a grilled turbot, and the fish was soft, juicy, and not fishy at all. The risotto and mussels were decent, though nothing particularly special. The cold seafood was overall fine, except for one snail that tasted a bit fishy and had some sand in it, which wasn’t to my liking. Overall, it’s a good experience for anyone looking to enjoy seafood at a reasonable price.

M
Matt O'Neill

Nice fish and seafood, a good wine selection, helpful staff with good service. Nice restaurant in a popular location. Counter top seating and tables in a small but vibrant dining area with open kitchen. Seafood and fish was very fresh and cooked nicely. Some innovative concepts in the dishes as well as classics. A nice place for a good dinner in Borough Market. Reservation recommended but can occasionally accommodate walk-ins.

Hello everyone! Wright Brothers is a lovely and expensive but very cool restaurant in Borough Market. Excellent atmosphere, superb and attentive service. Overall good wine and food, but too expensive for me. Great options of fish dishes. Linguini with vongole at £25 per head FAR TOO Expensive, not enough clams! Good but not exceptional. Various fish starters all very good. A bottle of very nice Gavi at £60 per bottle WAY WAY WAY over priced. We spent £94.00 per head including a £43.00 tip in four. I could have prepared the same dishes including a good bottle of Gavi for the price of one! Will I go back? Never.

L
Laura Vogel

The food is exceptional, but the service was horrendous. Sat for ages before ordering, they didn’t have my drink and no suggestion for an alt was made, got my food before water or a drink. Really worth coming for the food but service didn’t meet the standard of the delicious oysters, fish, and more!

F
Farid Kazi

Never tried Wright Brothers before because I thought it just did oysters. While at first glance the interior does resemble a Spanish dive bar the atmosphere is cool and the service is good. I got a window seat at the bar, so I could watch the chefs in action and it was quite impressive seeing them in action.I went for the sardines to start which were grilled to perfection and were accompanied by a salad and salsa Verde. For my main I tried the grilled prawns which were succulent and came with more salsa Verde salad and fries. As usual I finished with a double espresso and enjoyed my visit. Fresh, tasty seafood cooked in front of you at a decent price. What more can you ask for?

E
Emil Tam

We had all seafood meals. Service was fantastic. The oysters were good yet probably not in their best seasons. The monkfish tasted great. Just that the lobster was slightly overcooked. Overall it was a pleasant experience dinning in this restaurant.

S
Sohail Salikram

1£ oysters seem like a great deal until you realise how little meat is in each oyster. Might be more worth to pay full price and get your money's worth elsewhere. Otherwise great service and decent beer

C
Corina Mardari

was here with my BOYFRIEND. we had a reservation at 20:30 and got there at 20:40. anyways we sat and it was all good. the oysters were pretty good, however the other platter had snails and some clams that were not fresh. the crab and shrimp should have also been served hot, not freezing cold. we ordered some grilled shrimp which were way better. for the price… around 180.. you could have gotten something way better anywhere else.

M
M R

Service isn't friendly enough (Spanish speaking women working there) to warrant the 12.5% service charge. It's a high stress job and needs someone with a better mood to deliver friendly service under the obvious pressure. Nevertheless a nice enough experience for the 1£ oyster happy hour.

C
Claire Hartry

Was not keen on the turbot - quite an oily dish and the hispi was a bit wet. Bavette was also not as tasty as it could have been but oysters were outstanding. The service was fabulous and the vibe is amazing.

M
Maria G

The £1 oysters are a bargain (although not very nice) but the welcome from the staff was not exactly friendly, we were treated like scroungers when we asked for a table (or seats). Why have the £1 oysters offer if you don’t actually want anyone to come in and order them? The rest of the food we had (yes, we did order other food and drinks!) was nice but the unfriendly service was really off putting. Not going back there. The oysters at Richard Haward’s in the market are much nicer and worth every penny despite having to eat them in the cold.

B
Belle

Was so impressed with a recent visit at another Wright Brothers branch that I decided to try the Borough Market location as it’s closer to where I live. Not the greatest experience. Oysters were tiny compared to what we had at the other branch and service wasn’t great. I asked for tap water and never got it. Like the other reviews mention, the preparation of oyster prep could’ve been better - they had shards inside. I was left still really hungry after the oysters but would rather spend my $$$ to fill up somewhere else. Overall not a terrible experience, but definitely room for improvement. Will travel further to other branch in the future for a better experience.

T
Tracey

I will give zero star, avoid this place ,the oysters not fresh, it’s look like fresh on the picture, it’s absolutely not when you taste it and the waitress is rude, she doesn’t let you sit inside even they had the empty tables, she is not professional to be a waitress, I’m just wondering is the owner know that waitress so rude to the guest?
