Opinions de Pitchoun Long Beach
Pitchoun never misses! We went all out — salmon bowl, croque madame, coffee cake, Dubai chocolate pastry, a London fog, and strawberry matcha. Every single thing was incredible. This place is an absolute gem in DTLA. Already planning our next visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have to Pitchoun many times before I started posting reviews. Recently I returned for breakfast. This is one of my favorite bakeries in downtown Los Angeles. Their staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their pastries. The ambiance atmosphere feels warm and comfortable. Everything they make it delicious and freshly made. I highly recommend that you visit this unique bakery and restaurant. You won't be disappointed with your experience. By the way their coffee is off the charts great.
The pastries ALONE are worth the visit. This place is a VIBE- NEW YORK via Pershing Square. It's got people, music, atmosphere, and the friendliest service. I visited two days in a row and was not disappointed. The foccacia breakfast is a real bargain if you are hungover and need something to keep you from dying.
A lovely spot for breakfast or lunch. Fast service with high-quality food and coffee, indoor or outdoor seating, solid wi-fi, and surprisingly good background music. I ended up eating here several times while at a nearby conference, and loved everything: Parisian omelette, classic or Scottish benedict, banh mi (best product of colonialism tbh), lemon poppyseed cake, along with many excellent cappuccinos. Really not sure what the 1-star reviews are based on - this place should have an average closer to 4.6 or 4.7.
Its always pleasant to enjoy my breakfast here on the weekends. The service is exceptional and they're polite. The cannele and Nutella roll were a good option to accompany the hot coco. Been coming for a while to order myself the breakfast burrito and a hot coco which are delicious/delightful. Ambiance is positive and very clean.
Courtney welcomed us as we walked in and was patient as we looked through the many delicious options out there. We ordered a vanilla oat latte and a doppio espresso, both really great quality coffee. We also got an egg and tomato focaccia as well as a marble cake, it was warmed up for us but still was a bit cold when served — however, still tasted great! Just visiting LA but would come here all the time if we could! They also had a cookie croissant — I’d never seen that before and that was neat!
This French cafe is a true find in downtown LA, offering a delightful escape from typical chain coffee shops. I stumbled upon it while searching Google for unique cafes, and it exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend an early morning visit to savor the bold coffee and exquisite pastries. It's a rare chance to experience the tranquility of downtown LA before the hustle and bustle begins. The outdoor seating area is particularly peaceful, and the friendly, welcoming staff promptly brings your order to your clean table. The array of delicious French-inspired treats can be a bit overwhelming in the best way possible. They also offer hot food items, including breakfast sandwiches, all showcasing a clear French influence in both taste and presentation. While the prices are a bit on the higher side, they're consistent with downtown LA's environment and completely justified by the cafe's unique charm and quality.

Place is super cute, nice to sit and chat in. The egg focaccia was amazing, the croissant wasn't quite as good as you might find in New York City but definitely still worth a visit because the drinks were incredible.
This café offers a truly fantastic selection of food. All the products look very high-quality and are beautifully presented. The food itself was excellent, and it’s great that you can choose to enjoy it on-site or take it to go. Unfortunately, the service was not very good. The staff seemed a bit inattentive, and overall the operation didn’t feel particularly well organized. The seating area was also quite cramped, which made the visit a little less comfortable. Despite these drawbacks, the café is still highly recommended. The excellent quality of the food and the wide variety of options make it well worth a visit.

The food was fresh and tastety however it was way over priced for what I received. As well I can't get used to the fact that in this establishment they ask for a tip min. 18% and there is no wait…
The place looks nice. Pastries looks great, taste fine. Latte tasted so so. Cappuccino is to avoid. Do not go there to take coffee.
I’m in town visiting and stopped in twice as this is walking distance from my hotel. The first time was Christmas Eve. I had the chocolate twist and a caramel iced latte and my mom had the kouglof and morrocan tea. And today I got the cappuccino and coffee cake and she got the organic jasmine tea and a croissant. Everything was good however my only complaint is that for them to be on the pricier side, I would have appreciated if my cappuccino wasn’t half foam which I had a drink carrier so I didn’t realize until I was back at my room and went to dip the coffee cake in the cappuccino. Removing stars solely based off of that.
My European and Australian colleagues were saying how hard it is to find an artisan bakery that doesn't overdo the sugar and salt. Having indulged in many of these across Europe and Australia for most of my life, I have to agree. My go tos are usually Kouign Amann (a pastry laminated in butter and sugar) and any type of croissant. Bummer that the Kouign Amann was sold out! Instead I had a Pistachio Croissant and the Everything Croissant - an adaptation of the Everything Bagel. The former had creamy and nutty filing surrounded by flaky pastry and a generous sprinkle of chopped pistachio nuts on top. The latter was a lighter version than the bagel but had all the bold flavours. Neither could be described as delicately balanced but were pretty good. Sad on missing the Kouign Amann, I returned a second week. This time I was in luck and there was also a Fall Kouign Amann, so I took both for contrast. The Kouign Amann sat in a pool of syrup? This was truly overpowering for me. The Fall Kouign Amann had dried fruits, but unfortunately by then I was too overwhelmed by the Kouign Amann to appreciate this one - it was just more sugary sweetness. The rustic decor is warm and tasteful, which I really liked, but not the sound of the chairs screeching across concrete floors. Service was brief but sufficient. Conclusion: I'm still searching for that elusive bakery with delecate balance of flavours in this city.
staff very very nice and prices very reasonable but the food was stale. We had breakfast here twice because our options were limited staying at the Biltmore next door.

I didn’t know you could get sadder after eating a pastry but Pitchoun! proved me wrong. Look at the picture of this raspberry tart. This is not how you do tarts. Let me tell you how you do it: a perfect tart should have a crispy and firm crust - not soggy edges, creamy filling - not the bread instead with a little bit of cream on top. And they charge $8.5 for this disappointment. The bread pudding was the worst one I’ve ever tried. Step up your game, Pitchoun!
Went to have breakfast at this beautiful place. The assistant manager Bri was extremely rude, we enjoyed the wonderful pastries and cappuccino, but never got our breakfast because of her mistake…
I ordered the box for $17. As you can see in the photo I posted, this is what was left after eating just one egg and one piece of bread. The box only contained 2 eggs, 3 small pieces of bread, about 3 tomatoes, and a salad. For $17, this is extremely disappointing and not worth the price at all. I won’t be coming back.
I’ve been a loyal Pitchoun customer since 2022. I live across 6th St and have visited way many times because I genuinely like the food. The yogurt I ordered today was great. That said, this store is no longer what it used to be. This morning I was in an extreme rush for a meeting and stopped in to pick up my prepaid online order (online pickup is supposed to be quick and smooth). After I gave my name and explained what I ordered, the woman who appeared to be the owner/manager insisted—repeatedly and coldly—that I show the order details on my phone. I couldn’t pull it up immediately, and I questioned why it was necessary given I was clearly there for my own order and am a frequent customer. Her response, with an unfriendly attitude, was simply: “I just need to see it.” No courtesy, no empathy—just attitude. I eventually found the confirmation and showed it, but the interaction felt unnecessarily tense and humiliating. To make things worse, my yogurt order was handed to me without spoons/utensils, even though I requested utensils in the order. How exactly am I supposed to eat yogurt on the go—use my hands? Pitchoun’s prices are higher than other bakeries nearby. I’m willing to pay a premium when the experience is warm and professional. Today it was the opposite. I highly recommend not going unless you want to risk getting irritated by the lady owner’s attitude. I won’t be returning any more after 3 years’ visit.
I really don’t recommend buying bread from this place. I bought a piece of bread from them this morning, and after taking a bite, I noticed there was green mold on it. It was clear that the bread had been sitting there for quite a long time. This is very disappointing and honestly concerning when it comes to food safety. Bread should never be sold in this condition. I won’t be coming back, and I hope the shop pays more attention to freshness and quality control.
Service is great atmosphere too but food is something else. They have a sign asking people to live 5 star reviews in exchange for a free macaron so I wouldn’t trust the 5 star review. None of us could finish our dish. To get an accurate picture filter from lowest review. We should have done that before hand. Neither the pastries or the dishes are good
