Opinions de Gigo's Cafe & Deli Los Angeles
Gigo's is THE go-to pho spot I would simultaneously gate-keep from and rave about to my friends. For such a friendly price (not just for LA but for any restaurant serving for pho), I received well-over the quality and service I was initially expecting. The broth was rich, and decadent; the cut of meats were fatty and tender, not to mention the amount of meat given was filling. I asked Minh to add bone marrow to my bowl - he gave me the whole damn bone riddled with succulent tendon meat and a king's supply of bone marrow. It's a crime that this spot is not full every single hour it's open for business. Not only will you receive 10-fold what you pay for here, you'll also leave with a good friend to talk to over a bowl of pho at Gigo's. Thanks for the amazing experience, Minh. I'll be back soon.
I’ve been to a lot of pho restaurants in LA and I can say this restaurant serves the best pho broth I’ve ever tasted. My girlfriend, who ordered the Pho Tai, affectionately described it as “a hug for your stomach.” It is truly comforting not just because of the taste but also because of the service from the sweet family that runs this shop. Although it fronts the crowded line of shops on Broadway in Chinatown, when you sit down and eat here, you forget you’re on a busy street. The food carries the familiar comforts of home cooking and each dish is prepared with care. Definitely try the pho but the vermicelli is also excellent. I had the #40 with charbroiled pork and egg roll. Also they have free parking in the back!!
Best Viet iced coffee in LA with the sweetest shop owners in the world too :)
Best Pho in LA. Get the meat raw, the broth will cook it - super high-quality meat, a huge portion of fantastic tasting broth and fresh basil and bean sprouts. Thai tea is also fantastic. The people working there are super helpful and kind too! And the prices are great too - dining room could use a little work but it’s great if you got stuff to go!
Pros: free parking, pleasant dining, reasonable prices (we're in it to win it, uno), all entrees, specials and appetizers are delicious and healthier than big burger, fried crazy chicken and bloaty the pizza hog. The pho essence lies within its deeply flavored and scented broth. flat rice noodles are slightly chewy and super silky.
Came here for the first time and didn't know what to expect. Was surprised that the pho broth was good (like you can taste the beef-ness in it) and there was lots of actual noodles. Also got their Vietnamese coffee (cold) and it was pretty strong. I liked it. Definitely one of the stronger Vietnamese food places around Chinatown.
Come here to get your Pho fix! Michael and his wife have one of the last truly authentic Pho places in Chinatown. They go above and beyond for their customers - anything from making sure you have all the extra sides you need, to delivering an extremely quick service (got our food within 5min of sitting down), or making sure they only serve REAL Sriracha! The food was fresh, delicious, really cheaply priced, and a local favorite. The sugarcane juice was freshly made and had no added sugar, unlike other places nowadays. Getting here was really easy too - parking is super cheap, and it's half a block away from the Chinatown metro station. Would recommend any day!
Tiny tiny LA treasure. Best Pho we have ever tried. Flavorful soups and super friendly owners. Have been coming here for lunch for at least 6 years. Never a miss. The prices are low for the portions they serve and meats are super fresh. If ordering to go ask for an empty spare bowl for each order. They fill their to go cups to a brim and then give you some more on a side. They also started validating parking in the back.
Love this place. I used to come here all the time for lunch when I worked in Chinatown, and I really miss it. The flavors are super delicious, and even the drinks are made fresh. It's one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area, and the prices are so reasonable! Family owned. I highly recommend.
Amazing place and staff was super kind and giving!
This place is great, amazing pho, good drinks, nice environment, and great service. the food is amazing and so is the pricing, if you don't like this place you have a very picky palate, and no good taste in food. Extremely healthy choices, they have the most delicious raw coconuts, and mint leaves to add in your water. I recommend this place to everyone, if you wanna watch your weight and have something delicious to eat, come here! The owner is so sweet, one time I did not have enough for the bill and they said to pay them back next time and they were so kind about it. wish this place was on every block.
I was happy to learn they’ve reopened!! I got the vegetarian pho and tofu spring rolls to-go. My first impression was how each item was perfectly packaged and organized. Says a lot about the place and just a little something I truly appreciate. Moving on, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous proportions being the pho was big enough to share with two people. The broth was rich but light and flavorful, the noodles were top notch, the tofu was crispy on the outside and silky smooth soft on the inside. The spring rolls were fresh, perfectly wrapped (no falling apart) and balanced with the veggies. The dipping sauce was something amazing as well, I wonder if it’s house made. It was all just SO GOOD and affordable! The lady and gentleman working there were extremely friendly, kind and grateful for business, I hope this place survives and thrives through this economic rough patch. It’s truly a gem.
By far one of the best spots for Pho soup! Not only are the prices reasonable but they have THE best soup in all of Los Angeles, and I'm not kidding! I've tried other spots in Chinatown, around downtown and even east LA and nobody beats their soup! I always get the #2 and the #18. Owners are super nice and always helpful.
The food here is absolutely exceptional. I've been here twice and have tried their pho and Bun Bo Hue, both of which were outstanding. The ingredients are always fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. While the ambiance could benefit from a bit of a makeover in terms of paint, tables, and décor, I prioritize great food above all else. The staff consistently provide friendly and attentive service, making every visit enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. On top of that, there's free parking with any purchase, which is a great bonus! By the way, don't fall for the "it doesn't taste authentic" How would anyone other than a person who either went to Vietnam or has a Vietnamese grandma, know what authentic Pho tastes like. This place is great. Try it!
5 Stars for Gigo’s Cafe & Deli in Chinatown The pho here is outstanding and one of the best in LA. The broth is rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite feels comforting and authentic. Free parking is available in the lot next door as long as you are eating at Gigo’s Cafe & Deli. See photo to locate the parking lot before you go. This is a family-owned spot with heart, and it deserves your support. If you want great pho in Chinatown, I highly recommend Gigo’s Cafe & Deli. #SupportLocal #ChinatownEats #Pho
The BEST Pho in all of LA. I will firmly stand behind this statement, I’ve gone to 100s of Vietnamese restaurants over the years and not one is as good as Gigo’s Cafe. Something about the broth stands out, one of the big tests of a good pho is, if you’re really thirsty after eating it, it’s filled with MSG to “take shortcuts”. But not here, Gigo’s has their broth simmering on low and slow, old fashion way which enhances the flavors. Would recommend having your Combination Pho with Rice Noodles for a different but delicious take on the classic. Also the spring-rolls and Cha Gia are amazing! Owners are EXTREMELY nice people, always coming to conversate with us and you can tell they care about their business. This is one of the best local spots in Chinatown and truly a hidden gem!
I’ve been coming here for about 10years now. From my middle school, high-school, and now college. The lady that I think owns the store. Such a lovely lady. She knows us now that we come way too often. The food is really good. The environment is very chill and light. Overall amazing place
Had a lovely experience here for takeout. Got the #31 bun dac biet, which comes with everything on vermicelli (pork, meatball, shrimp, shredded pork, egg roll). It was priced well at $15.25, and ordered a side of pho broth for $5. There’s a 3% fee for credit card, no big deal. Pickup was easy and service was prompt from my phone-in order. Food was delicious and the broth was exactly what I had wanted to help treat my cold. I’ll certainly be back again!
We had the tofu spring rolls, beef pho, meatball vermicelli & a bahn-mi, all equally delicious. Food came out quickly and the service was great. Great portions and prices! I'll definitely be coming back :)
The best soup (pho) I have ever had! I'm from Switzerland, and while on holiday in Chinatown, I saw this random restaurant and, just by intuition, decided to walk in. I immediately felt the good vibes and knew they knew exactly what they were doing. I was right! The soup was cooked al dente, the meat was so tasty and fresh, and the soup was perfectly seasoned. They also gave me fresh herbs to complement the dish. The price was incredibly low for the quality and amount of food they offered. I had two coconuts to drink, and they were the freshest and best coconuts I have ever had. Man, I hope I can come back once in my life. If I were to die tomorrow, I would visit this place again. No joke 🙏🙏🙏🥰
Excellent food, the service was exquisite. The owners were very adorable and sweet. Spoke some Spanish, which was a huge plus. Definitely would go back here again. Without a doubt, we will be trying everything else on the menu
I ordered 3 orders of the summer rolls (9 pieces total). The sauce was delicious and had a great additional flavor to the rolls. The grilled pork inside the roll was so flavorful. I haven’t tried anything else on their menu so I’m definitely coming back. Recommendation: If you’re calling for a pick up, call their direct number to order. They respond quickly and the owner is super friendly.
I was so busy eating my chicken pho that I forgot to take a photo until I was halfway through with it. The portions were magnificent and the food was delectable. Herbs, lettuce, sprouts, and jalapeños were provided making this an incredibly tasty meal on a cool night. I will definitely return!
Ive came here 4 times and it gets better each time. The number 1 and 11 is a must try along with thw spring rolls. But the cherry on top is the young coconut smoothie. Do yourself a favor and buy it whether you buy food or not. You will not be disappointed i gurantee it!

The business is OPEN ON WEDNESDAYS. I don’t know why google has inaccurately reported it as supposedly being closed, but when you call in they will answer the phone to confirm they are indeed OPEN ON WEDNESDAYS. I’ve tried multiple times to update the hours on Google maps but I don’t know what is wrong with Google, they are being stubborn and not updating the hours. I’ve tried helping the owner to update the hours themselves and Google won’t even accept the changes from the owner. But rest assured, they are OPEN DAILY all week from 10 AM to 7 PM. I stop by regularly for Vietnamese eggrolls, which are wrapped in rice paper, crispy, and delicious! Their pho broth is also fragrant tho I wish they carried SATE TRIEU-CHAU which is a fast the other Vietnamese restaurant down the road carries which is packed with garlic and lemongrass flavor. You could always just buy a jar of the sauce at an Asian market and buy the pho here which is cheaper to add it yourself at home.
We got take out food was fresh and delicious. Packaging was intentional nothing spilt on the ride. Staff were kind. Def a must try!
The owners are very welcoming and friendly, make you feel at home. The food is very authentic and delicious! Best pho I ever tasted! parking is free when you get a ticket from the counter
Great hole in the wall restaurant serving authentic Vietnamese food, with friendly and warm service. Family owned and operated.
Hands down the best Pho I’ve had in LA. The service was excellent too - very sweet folks in there. Will be back again and again!

Food tasted amazing and the portion size was extremely generous. I ordered the vegetarian Phò which contained what I think might be the best noodles I've ever tasted. They weren't the wide ones I was expecting but it didn't matter because they were so good. The service was not your usual polite, please the customer style but perhaps what you might expect in Vietnam, staff were very straight to the point but almost in a comedy way, well worth a visit

Ordered the vermicelli salad with pork and egg roll to go. It’s not authentic to me as a Vietnamese person. The meat is not grilled or charbroiled and is rather soft like how Chinese meat is from a Chinese spot. It’s decent thus giving it a 3/5
Overall: 2.7/5 (Postmates delivery) We ordered on Postmates right before closing but they accepted our order. The food came in about 40 minutes. Price is decent compared to other Vietnamese restaurants but the food wasn't good. The food and sauce were all pretty bland and didn't have the Vietnamese umami flavors Nem Nuong Cuon voi Cha Ram Tom/Summer Roll ($7.75): This comes with 3 fat rolls. The first bite was good but after that, it was just okay. The sauce is very interesting but the flavor doesn't really compliment the summer roll. It surprisingly tastes better with the vermicelli noodles. Their nem nuong needs to be cut thinner as the pieces are too chunky. It's also a bit hard and not as juicy as we would have liked it to be. Bun Dac Biet ($15.50): The pork was good but the shrimp was bad. Vermicelli was okay. I like that they provide shredded lettuce and cucumbers. House Special Combo With Broken Rice #21 ($15.50): Everything in this dish was mid except for the egg roll which was pretty good. The egg roll looked like a hybrid of a regular egg roll and an imperial egg roll. Another plus was that they used actual broken rice so I appreciate the authenticity.
Charbroiled chicken Ban Mi, good bread crunchy on the outside and moist inside. Chicken was lacking flavor and parts were tough to chew. Took 20 mins to get 1 sandwich to go.

I ordered thru Uber eats, and the delivery was great. Opening our orders, we noticed they were incomplete. Usually, when we walk in, all is fine. This time, when ordering online, they neglected to read the special notes. We ordered rare steak pho soup, extra limes, no extra limes were given and the rare steak were pieces of what looked like bits and pieces as if it was prepared for a stir fry, not to mention the discoloration as if it was getting old. The second order we asked for was no brisket. It was there. The third order was to have rare steak and meatballs, only one meatball was given and it was cut into 4 pcs! This was so disappointing for the price I paid. What is going on back there? Why bother to ask for any special requests if they're not being noted. All 3 soups were missing flavor and we had to pick out what we didn't want. What a shame.
Family and I stopped at Gigo's Cafe & Deli because we were hungry wanted pho. It wasn't too busy on a weekday. We waited so long for our orders. And they forgot one order it was spring rolls took them forever to bring it out. Pho broth was kind of sweet not to my liking.

Ive tried another place close by called pho 87 and its currently closed so i figured i try a new place. I tried number two and nope its not good at all. The flavor doesn't taste authentic i couldnt finish it. The noodles are stuck together and dont come apart when you add it to the hot soup. Ill wait for pho 87 to open back up somtime this month and i highly recommend people to go there instead. Dont waste your money!
