Great atmosphere, always take Alhambra Ave and never realized they were there. Perfect spot to take a break and drink away some coffee. Food is delicious too!
Gorgeous place to grab a coffee, with great breakfast sandwiches too. Every little detail has been thought of, right down to the tile work where you stir in some cream and sugar and dispose of your cup. The atmosphere is amazing, staff are friendly, they sell work from local artists, and are even queer and trans friendly. The fountain on the patio along with petals from overhanging flowers petals dropping down onto the tables and ground below seal the deal to create an absolutely stunning oasis in LA. Pics are from the Christmas season - as a Dane it made me smile to see a few julenisse on the shelves 🥰 EDIT: I found out from my therapist (who’s Latino) that what I assumed were julenisser are actually duendes!! Apologies for not learning more about this before I posted. Excited to learn more about duendes
This place is very picturesque if you're into Spanish architecture. This coffee shop has a lovely patio with a selection of books to choose from if you want to enjoy an afternoon. I had the cafe de olla with oat milk, which was luscious. The staff was friendly and quick. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and they even sell items from local artists.
Great place to grab some outdoor time in their small getaway courtyard. Lots of shade from outdoor umbrellas. Good as a catch up cafe for 2. Or great place for study, wifi with laptop for 1-2ppl. No outlet access. Furbabies allowed. I wouldn't recommend any rowdy dependants (fur or human) to ruin the chill vibes. Reminds me of Cafecito Organico in Silverlake before more gentrification happened. Food and snacks are offered here. They have small cute local artisan store.
GORGEOUS patio, good food & drinks (esp Munster breakfast sandwich), wifi (no power outlets - all outdoor seating), free 2hr street parking directly in front, gender neutral accessible bathrooms
best best coffee shop in LA. hands down. hands up. hands sideways. it rocks. outdoor area such a vibe. great shade. great energy. turmeric drink. you're gonna like the way you look.
By far my favorite coffee shop in LA! The staff is so nice here, the coffee is amazing and just a cool little spot to use some wifi and get some work done. Thank you guys!
I like the bakery and coffees. Especially, the ambiance is out of this world. From the outside it looked normal. This place encouraged and sells local artists items.

Seriously my favorite cafe in So Cal. They have a gorgeous back area with a fountain, lemon tree, agave, buddhas, Guadalupe, etc. they have a large selection of tea if you don't like coffee. They have a lending library outside for the community where you can pick up or drop off books to add to it. They carry Homeboy Industries baked goods. I recommend the coffee cake it's amazing!!! They have local art up and events. Love, love, love everything about Holy Grounds. Also a plus they are close to Cal State La
Awesome place that takes you away from Alhambra where you feel you're in the bougie part of silver lake or to go fancy that you're in another country. Beautiful layout with lots of space and character. Importantly good coffee and WiFi too with lots of street parking. Wonderful option for doing work and feeling a tad better doing it too.
amazing deal ! nice quality and great product! it’s my favorite coffee place and they have good sandwiches too workers very friendly and art atmosphere inside so you can feels comfortable
My first time here with my wife and we loved it ! We live near by but didn't this beautiful place was here. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, tea, cafe de la hoya, which we loved. Great service and peaceful place.

Glad I found this cute place for some reading time and to just chill while visiting LA. Staff is super nice and parking is easy on the street. The courtyard is pretty.
I was looking for a place to work and enjoy the morning. I’m so happy I found Holy Grounds. Their ceremonial matcha is delish and the breakfast sandwich is yummy not too heavy. The outdoors area with the soothing fountain was perfect for working on my new Somatic and Sound Course. I will definitely come again.
Here weekly for the Horchata Latte but thought it was worth mentioning that they get their pastries from Homeboy Bakery, so it’s like giving back while I enjoy the coffee cake! Win-win!
Very nice atmosphere. Super peaceful place to study or just relax and have a cup of coffee. Rating as 4 stars because their coffee menu could have a little more selection.. But it was great over all. Had their grilled cheese.. It was tasty.
What a cute place. The patio space, so calming. And they showcase local artisan goods for sale. Only had a drink, will be returning to try the food. Looked delicious
Went to a cute little gem in LA for coffee. Didn’t see any parking lots but got lucky and found parking on the street. Inside, there was an area where they sold local artist’s art and gems. There was also a courtyard where you can sit and enjoy their coffee. I got a lavender honey latte and it was good but it was a little too sweet for my taste. (I forgot to take a picture)

A special and fitting place for the neighborhood: genuine, curious, friendly and just the right amount of "unpolished" feeling. The back garden is definitely a refeshing and peaceful surprise. The quality of the coffee is superb!

I have been coming to the Holy Ground Cafe for almost 5 years and spent thousands of dollars and have recommended this place highly to my friends and family and for the first 4 years its been great food, great coffee, and great service but in my recent visits over the past 5 months I noticed a decline in food and coffee quality and more importantly in the service. Out of 85% of the time I have visited in the past 5 months it almost seems like I’m a drag to the baristas, no greeting no smile pretty much a stare of disappointment when I walk in. Prices have also gone up a bit which I understand but I don’t know if I wanna pay 7+ dollars for an ok coffee and slightly warm food especially when it seems that the staff would’ve been happier if you would’ve stayed home or gone elsewhere. I have never experienced this in the past but I did notice almost if not all the staff is new the old staff and service I will always give 5 stars but the new staff needs to get it together there are tons of coffee shops around this area including where I live that will be getting my business for a while and maybe in the future I will stop by here again and see if anything has changed. The vibe and atmosphere is great with the backyard patio area but when the vibe of the staff is bad not even a peaceful waterfall can put you at ease and feel welcomed.

I really hate to leave this review - in fact I rarely ever leave any unless I feel something needs to change. So please know that I only say this because I want the best for this business and I think it could be a lot better. I’ve been coming here for over 7 months due to the proximity of the cafe, and each time I wonder why I come back. A majority of the staff are super standoffish and make me feel really uncomfortable : super awkward and don’t know how to respond when I say normal things like how are you. I’ve had a very hard time trying to get a decent cappuccino or cortado from this place. It’s always very burnt tasting and the ratios are all over the place. I used to be a barista and I’m honestly astounded that there aren’t more bad reviews. A cappuccino shouldn’t burn your mouth at the first sip - the milk is always scalding hot and over steamed. I think they need some better training to learn how to get proper micro foam. I’m really not that fussy in most places but I can’t believe how terrible something as simple as a cappuccino is from a coffee shop. I’ve ordered one at least a dozen of times stupidly expecting it to get better. Their sandwiches are usually good - but all of the pastries I’ve tried have been pretty mediocre/bad. The only drink I’ve had a pretty consistently good experience with is a Matcha, but they over sweeten it so I ask for just a tiny bit of it. The patio is beautiful and it’s really lovely to sit out there. Again I don’t want to leave this review to create a negative impact on this business, I only hope they take it seriously to better their service and quality.

I have been driving by this place for OVER A YEAR. So excited to try it I finaly was able to stop by. The service was slow. I waited about 10 min to get my matcha. I ordered a large matcha with vanilla. I could not even asked them to fix it becaue i felt bad asking then too. I took one sip and it didnt even taste anything. It was just light colored green milk with a hint of vanilla. I do my best to aways support independent coffee shops. But man this makes me not want to. Because theres a higher chance my drink will taste like nothing. Super annoyed. Won't be going back.
How do I start? I usually dont like to leave bad reviews especially for small businesses but I have to in my neighborhood and this is a direct message to the owner... Aside from supporting local artists and the ambience the service was poor today, not hard to be friendly, especially when there are not many customers. Secondly, me and a friend came in, he ordered a cold brew which he told me was bland, terrible and also almost watery. I ordered a iced coffee which I specifically asked to add milk and when received I got a black coffee. When I asked the Barnstable for milk I got a (why are you bothering me look) and to my surprise the coffee was worse with the milk, I could not taste any coffee, just an almost watery milky hint of coffee flavored drink. How do you mess up coffee at a coffee shop?
