Opinions de House Coffee Co. Los Angeles
It feels like the cafe name perfectly represents the ambiance. The petite shop does feel super homey that it gives the vibe of having coffee at your friend's living room. One simple long communal table at the center complemented with plugs for the guests to use. I really love how the background music is slow and chill - not being too loud, and all the guests also mostly focus on their own thing, making it perfect 'quiet' space regardless you're working or just seeking some peaceful space to relax. Being a first timer doesn't make me feel alienated as the barista's super welcoming. Asking for her reco, I end up with their house signature's Maple Walnut Latte. Interestingly the Maple Walnut was actually the dairy-free milk and the default sweetener is house-made brown sugar cinnamon syrup. She does call out that they make all their syrups in house so I'm pretty impressed by how many selections they carry. They do have a handful of non-coffee options if coffee isn't your cup of tea. I see plenty of guests go for their Strawberry Matcha, which indeed is their top one from non-coffee selections. I love my cup of joe, coming just at the right sweetness level, and the flavor's peculiar yet amiable. I request mine to be served extra hot, and it does come like a warm hug amidst the all-day-long pouring rain.
Amanda was very friendly in showing me the ropes for my first visit. I was passing through for work and luckily find this gem conveniently located on my way downtown. The milk varieties were mind boggling! I loved the maple walnut variation without any added sweetners for my latté. Can’t wait to return for more. Looks like a great place to post up and work if you can find a parking spot, which they had a few for customers.
Came to this café, sat down at their large dining table and enjoyed my latte, did some mild people watching as others came in with their dogs, etc. Some came with their laptops. There’s lots of outdoor seating, although it is next to a busy street so don’t think you could take a call from there quietly. I wasn’t sure which milk I wanted to try because they had some fun options, and the barista let me try the pistachio milk to put into my latte and that’s what I went with. Didn’t add any sugar or anything else. It was the perfect latte. I sat there quietly and enjoyed it while some people worked quietly at the large dining table and it was a great start to my day.
A cafe owned by a long time climber!! Just swung by for a croissant but next time ill try some drinks. Great space inside with a long table and lots of seating, friendly and welcoming employees, pictures of climbing, a big seating area outside?? And in my neighborhood?? 🎉🥹 yay always happy to support climbers and to live in a community like this Visit 2: tried the sage cheese croissant this time, still no drink bc i am too ritual about my matcha at home lolol but ommmg so good. Def coming back to do some work here its a good vibe, theres wifi, its cozy. Visit idk bc i come here often! : I've now tried a number of their drinks. The pourover was really good, well done. The employee explained his recipe to me, which really shows his expertise! Hojicha latte-- not sweet, subtle flavors, can't tell if i like it like this or if i'd want it stronger -- either way, pretty good for non-caf days! Matcha latte -- same goes, not sweet by default so I really appreciate that. They whisk the drink to order, unlike some constantly busy places that have to resort to using a bottle of premade. horchata latte (seasonal special) wow i love this one!! not too sweet all things considered (horchata). love the cinnamon topping. It's a shame this place only pops up when you google "coffee" and doesn't pop up as "cafe", I only found it by looking around the map lol. great place to work, feels like a coworking space with plenty of light and air circulation + good wifi and outlets readily available right on the table.
Such delicious coffee and pastries!! If you need a coffee place that feels like home, has delicious affordable coffee options with AMAZING non dairy milk options then HOUSE COFFEE CO is for you. The Baristas have great personalities, the atmosphere is cozy and loungey- and the outdoor space is fantastic. Great experience everytime I go there. Get the maple walnut milk... trust me.
I had previously written a review about my experience which wasn’t 5/5, and the owners were so kind as to respond and invite me back and offer me a drink and pastry if I gave them another shot. I did, and it was truly such a great experience this time. I got the iced strawberry matcha, which was so tasty and refreshing - not too sweet and I liked the chunks of strawberry. They also gave me a little vegan chocolate cake which was SO good, and I love that they have vegan pastry options. The owners are so sweet and passionate about coffee and their business, and it shows. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I’m in the area. Thank you, Eric and Nicole!
Such an adorable coffee houses, love it!
Awesome place to grab a drink and a bite from passionate foodies! Came by at 4:30pm on Thursday and they looked closed, then someone popped out and asked if we wanted coffee. A few minutes later, we were inside, eyeing the delicious treats and ordering coffee. They just opened a couple of weeks ago and have a large table that seats ~8 people inside. There are also chairs along the sides and picnic tables outside in the fenced area. We tried all of their treats since there were only 3. The honey toast and blueberry toast were perfectly sweet and flavorful! The almond joy round was super sweet and yummy! I had a cappuccino with oat milk and my husband had an americano with whole milk. Both were delicious! I look forward to adding this cafe to our rotation of work spots!
Love this neighborhood coffee spot! You can't miss the homemade Pop-Tarts--especially the cinnamon sugar. Great coffee, great people, and serious local flavor. #ShopLocal #NeighborhoodGem #westadams
Aside from being a black-owned business (which I’m so happy to see more of), this cozy new spot has DELICIOUS drinks and food. Turned into a cute little cafe from its previous function as a single family house, House Coffee makes you feel like you’re in your living room just doing the works whilst possibly making a friend or two while loosely monitoring the TV. My go to has been the Maple Walnut latte with oat milk, and either of the baristas does a great job of making it (both are quirky and make great conversationalists). I also love their homemade pop-tarts (the brown sugar one being my favorite) and their strawberry matcha latte that incorporates real bits of strawberry (perfect for spring and summer). If you’re ever in the neighborhood, give this place a try! Both the owners are so sweet and incredibly welcoming. ✨

I measure a cafe by the quality of its espresso as the foundation and this cafe did not disappoint. The espresso was brewed perfectly and of high quality. The service was so friendly and I was so welcomed. The vibe of the store is so open and a great place to sit down for a while too. Definitely coming back!
Adorable house converted into coffee shop. Lots of space to work and many croissant varieties!
Near the train station. Converted house near my residence 60 years ago. Evidence that LA is really improving! Wonderful people here. Parking is not bad if you can cross a street
Never ever have I had such a wonderful coffee drinking experience. Here I was, lost and alone, not a drop of coffee in sight. And then I saw it: House Coffee Co., like an oasis in a desert of mediocre lattes. I walked in, greeted by the most beautiful barista goddess. I looked into her mesmerizing green eyes, and within those emerald pools I saw the perfect cortado, and just like that, there it was. Wow. Rich flavors. Excellent vibes. The frequency of everything in this establishment healed my being. I will think about this place and this barista for the rest of my life.
Just came across this place on my way to fwy to gead back home. Needed a pick me up got a very nice expresso maple something brown sugar 😋 so delicious and a little croissant to go along with with. Pairs great home made to I recommend 👌 😀
I was working in the area and needed some coffee. I parked across the street. The shop looked pretentious to me. The are looked clean. The dining area indoors and outdoor were clean. I walked to the counter and the female gave me a warm smile. I looked around trying to figure out what I was getting into. She patiently asked if she could get something started 😁 I dove into her kind green eyes 💚 👀 and asked for a medium latte. She explained that they had a small, 10 ounce cup and a large. The male behind her looked like a coffee "snob". But after I asked a few questions he looked me in the eye with a friendly face and told me that he could do that for me. I dove back into the green wading pools at the register. She asked if I wanted a sweet item to accompany my coffee. I asked her about an interesting rectangular croissant covered in black seeds. She explained that it was a cream cheese and jalapeño croissant and added that she could warm it for me. Both of those folks were patient, polite and friendly. The male handed me my ☕️ coffee with a heart 🤎 the female *sigh handed me my warm croissant. Both items were terrific 😋😋😋😋😋😋 big thanks to both of them.
Immaculate vibes. The landscaping gives desert vibes and there are plenty of long tables to connect or spread out and do work. Baristas are super knowledgeable about what vibe blends go with which sweetener or milk. Spaaaacious patio makes it so you feel relaxed and protected. It’s like being teleported to another world.
I stopped here on a whim as I was in the area and did a quick search for coffee before I headed home. Unfamiliar with the coffee shops around, House Coffee got really good reviews and was close by so I stopped in - and it did not disappoint! I got a flat white with whole milk and it was perfect . The barista was very friendly and quick too. Perfect start to my Monday morning!
Stopped here for a quick drink and pastry and enjoyed the relaxing outdoor seating and friendly staff. I got an iced chai tea latte which was amazing - I’m usually pretty picky about chai tea lattes but this was the perfect balance of milk, tea and sweetness. Also ate a delicious brown sugar homemade pop tart. Would definitely recommend!
Just stopped here for a bag of expressio beans. Totally AMAZINg little gem. The 2 young people working in here when we stopped in were such a vibe. They warmly greeted me before I gen entered the spot. They were happy..positive..kind and so helpful. It smells amazing in here of coffee and fresh baked treats and a great selection of music playing and it is a black owned business. We will definitely be back.

Great place to chill at. The baristas create a great vibe and make amazing latte art! Coffee and food is really good
Tiny shop with strong, no-nonsense coffee. Their Mexican mocha has a nice cinnamon kick. Seating is limited, but people usually grab and go. Prices are lower than most LA cafés. A solid stop for caffeine.

Atmosphere is lit. Service is cold and judgmental. And I said I didn't want my croissant warmed up but it was handed to me hot. Soooo..... if you find yourself in this pocket of town it's good in a pinch but not a destination like cafecito organico or even your run of the mill Blue Bottle.
Just ok. I asked for my latte half sweet and received it incredibly sweet. I can't imagine what full sweetness is like. I personally like to taste my coffee and not just the syrup. What little I could taste of the coffee itself was just OK. That being said, I couldn't finish the drink.
