Opinions de Industry Cafe and Jazz Culver City
This place has been there for a long time for music lovers in Culver City! (They will have 20th year anniversary special in October!!) The owner, Aron, his brother, and his staff are super friendly and create a supportive neighborhood casual atmosphere. Everyone is welcome, even you stop by solo. I go there for their music especially when they have classic Jazz like Miles Davis or Coltrane type. They serve Ethiopian cuisine with Eritrea twist and have a full bar. If my friends are not familiar with their food, we can ask Aron, he always suggests something we can enjoy.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great jazz. Went in on a Wednesday night and had the whole place to ourselves! Their sambussa was delicious, as were the zil zil and doro wot. You gotta try their carrot cake for dessert - divine. Would absolutely come back. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Nice and cozy place. The staff were helpful and kind. We ordered 3 different foods, served in one larg dish with vegetables around it. Felt authentic. Oh don't forget to try Asmara bear.(Eritrean bear). Tastes pure. Oh don't miss the soup. Jazz music soft, not load. Perfect
Wonderful jazz cafe in Culver City! Fantastic live jazz band. Yummy Ethiopian vegetarian plate with plenty of delicious injarra to eat it up, included. The hummus was topped with a pico de gallo type fresh salsa and queso fresco crumbles. Cheap for dinner and entertainment.
My First visit here and to an Ethiopian. Great atmosphere. Milian was there. (The owner or co-owner). Nice set up. Loved the artwork on the walls. We were the only ones there. He made a greens dish with cabbage & and garlic. Soooo delicious! I ordered the Doro Wat. Chicken Tibsi, and vegetarian Platter. It was served on a big platter. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed our visit. He was very personable. There is live music here on Wednesdays they Sundays. He also writes poetry, music, and books. Come on in and taste and enjoy your visit. We will be back for sure. Can't wait to come for the music!
Great food, fantastic vibe, excellent music. We were visiting from. Wisconsin and our kids were able to order off the classic menu (burger, spaghetti, and chicken wings). My husband I enjoyed delicious Ethiopian fare. The owner brought out some samples and my seven year old was hooked on the bread and lentils. He's pretty picky, so this was great. The music wonderful and was just the right level so that we could talk, but the kids weren't annoying to other patrons. 100% recommend.
Has the BEST time with my friends for my birthday here. Amazing band. Great food. Can’t wait to come back!
Went to Industry Cafe & Jazz during jazz night, and it was a great time! The live music added a fun and lively atmosphere that made the whole experience worth it. The food was above average, not amazing, but still good. Definitely enjoyable, just not something that completely blew me away. Overall, a solid spot if you're looking for good vibes, live music, and a relaxed night out.
We came on a Sunday. They had live music and the band was great. The ambiance is much nicer than we were expecting from the photos. Great vibe and great food. Also good for a romantic dinner. 👌
The food is great, the live music is amazing, the whole atmosphere is just awesome and relaxing. The jazz adds more flavor to your dining experience. The owner is so friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend it if you're in the area
Overall: Everyone should visit Industry Cafe & Jazz. The restaurant has a uniquely local vibe where one can unwind and listen to live jazz music. There are not too many places like this and this is a must when your around Culver City. The Food: The food was phenomenal. The spices, aroma, and warm nostalgic feeling of home cooking make this place a hidden gem. From all the dishes, my ultimate favorite was the Doro Wat. This chicken drumsticks felt like an elevated version of holiday food. The only down side it only one drumstick, but you can order another drumstick for 5 dollars. I could eat a whole chicken with that stewy aromatic sauce. You won't regret ordering this dish. The lentils were also delicious. They were creamy, warm, had a little kick to them. The Vibe: I also enjoy when I get to meet and chat with the owner of the restaurant. At Industry, the owner and cook greeted us and gave us a little history of his restaurant and the talented musicians. The service was exceptional and I could tell everyone loved and appreciated jazz.
I don’t usually take the time to review a place but this place should not be passed by. You feel welcomed and revived by the time you leave. Be it the incredible staff, amazing food, live music every night, or different beers from far away. In incredible food options for carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans alike.
Loved it!! Food is sooooo good! Aaron the owner and Kiki both are delightful. Music is awesome💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿 Yummmmmmm! Come on Down

We wanted Ethiopian food so decided to give this place a try. Nice atmosphere with jazz band, but we honestly were just there for the food. I ordered the veggie platter and my son ordered the chicken stew. Unfortunately somebody before him ordered the last one so he got lamb instead. Both were excellent and our server was awesome, although I forgot her name (we were there for dinner on 1/24). The only bad thing I could possibly mention is that they don’t seem to answer their phone (maybe they were too busy 🤔). Needless to say, I’m glad we rolled the dice and tried it out.
Have you ever not known what you needed and walked into a place on a random afternoon feeding your soul with amazing food? I had that experience today. On a leisurely stroll, looking for snacks, staring a menu from the sidewalk, and this friendly person popped out said hi and invited us in. We made our order to go but great company prolonged our stay for a chat. When we got that food home it was amazing. I could not stop eating this food. I ate the entire vegetable plate by myself. Perfectly seasoned, the injera was delicious, I’m not even a big fan of lentils but this won me over with some collard greens? Unbelievable. If you’re thinking about eating here, do it. You need it. It’s worth it for the food and the company.
such a whimsical cozy place. Top notch musicians play here. The food and service are out of this world. One of my favorite places in the city. Overall it's more than a cafe. Its an experience
Amazing food! Great flavor, everything was delicious! Super cool owner. Will be coming back
It was me and two friends of mine first time trying this establishment out. It did not disappoint. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch at 2:30pm. It was quiet and the NBA playoffs game was on the TV. We enjoyed having the place to ourselves before the evening rush for the live jazz. Although we will be back on a Saturday evening to check out the live show experience; (Live jazz starts 6pm-10pm). The owner/manager was extremely nice and welcoming. Very cool vibes, vibrant decor with beautiful artwork all around the restaurant. The food was excellent. We had the platter which had the yellow and red lentils, greens w/cabbage, cabbage w/potatoes and carrots, the stewed chicken, grilled chicken, salad and Ethiopian bread. Absolutely amazing flavors. We also had the Ethiopian iced tea with mint leaf. Very refreshing. 10/10!

I'm not usually a fan of Ethiopian food, but this place is great! Their platters are extremely diverse with options and well flavored. Their atmosphere is relaxed and laid back and often times have live music. Their service was also great so no complaints there. Parking can be a bit hard in this area, so I recommend parking on the side streets a block or two down. Giving it minus one star because the live music was so loud that I thought my eardrums were going to burst. It was impossible to communicate inside, but thankfully, they were able to move my party to outdoor.

I was refused service for no viable reason. I ordered through Grubhub, but when I arrived, the owner (African American) told me they were closed. However, when another African American customer approached, the owner said, "hold on, let this weird guy pass." I felt completely disrespected and will not be returning.
