Alright; I'll try to be transparent. I love this place and it has my heart. The first time I was here I was so hungry I ate $40.50 with of food. However, I had only brought $40 cash and nothing else. The lady was nice about it and I felt embarrassed. The food is amazing so the embarrassment didn't stop me from becoming a regular. Now, some months later, I brought my mom and dad to eat here but it was very packed and a couple was taking forever to clear the bar area, which they had conveniently sat in the very middle of. Now they say my parents and I separately which bothered me quite a bit but thankfully the couple left before my food came out. Another table cleared, and my parents began moving their stuff to another table. This upset the owner, who said she had to clean. So my parents went back and eventually they sat them in the bar area, next to me. After this the owner seemed very cross and even served another unrelated customer with subtle disdain. I had never experienced this personally and I really don't judge her for what happened. I was simply surprised and felt embarrassed by what my parents had done. I really hope in some way she knew we were sorry but I guess it's too late for that now. We left good tip but that was more for the lovely Hispanic lady that waited us, and hopefully for the cook too. I personally will come to this place until it doesn't exist but the experience I had that morning was very strange and uncomfortable. Best breakfast for $20 that you'll find in all of Los Angeles.
A great place to have classic American breakfast. The hashbrowns are the best and their pancake flavor is hard to beat. It’s always busy and all you need to do is wait your turn outside and the lady in charge will give you a table once there’s free room.
CANNOT believe I've only just found this place?! Everything is simple and cooked to perfection. Cash only BTW Don't tell too many people I'd like to keep it locals as they keep it busy as is 😘 BTW pancakes are soooo good doesn't require syrup! Just a little butter and heaven!
Awesome staff, great food, no frills. Love it
So yummy home made breakfast small joint. Lovely customer service ❤️😃😉

Best place for pancakes made from scratch plus delicious lunches. Since I lived alone I went there several times a week. Linda was always cheerful and helpful with everyone's orders. Delicious and reasonable.
Great food, excellent service! Linda and her staff are the best! Quaint place with good vibes!
Such a good little breakfast spot! Quick and friendly service and the food was incredible, especially the pancakes. The interior is so cute with lots of mid century decor. The best breakfast I’ve had in Southern California.
Chicken teriyaki eggs hash browns and raisin toast that's the same thing I've been eating for 30 years the best food
Excellent food served in an intimate homey space that reminded me of simpler times. It was a very filling meal that I immensity enjoyed and will be returning to, Only downside is cash only

Love this place since the seventies. My dad used to bring me and my brother here best pancakes in town! Also they have daily specials chicken teriyaki to die for.
Unique food and great taste! Apart from the food they have a "take it or leave it" approach, so set your expectations properly.
Intimate diner with the sights, smells and tastes in your face. Sit at the counter. Yummy pancakes. Eggs and stir fried rice is a must. The cook at the grill is a maestro!
excellent little LA breakfast spot, not a lot of seating, but worth the vibe and good food if you like cozy and real places

Food was delicious - teriyaki chicken with eggs and fried rice and the fluffy pancakes were highlights. Really affordable prices. Service leaves something to be desired, and it’s cash only

I finally made it here after reading & hearing all the hype...it was just ok, nothing i would go out my way for. Prices are ok ...I will be back for lunch.

I showed up at 5pm on Saturday and it was closed despite the online information showing the restaurant as open. There were no store hours listed either, just a sign that said closed with no other information.
This is the second time we come and it looks closed down. We came last year with the same problem. Yet Google STILL says they are not only open but open until MIDNIGHT! Please mark it CLOSED!

It's a nice little charming place. Unfortunately the service and food are not good at all. I got a cheeseburger for 10 dollars, doesn't come with fries or anything, and it tasted as if the meat was either old or washed with soap. The ketchup tasted like it has way too much sugar in it. The tomato was cut diagonally with 1 inch to 1/8 inch. I ate it because I was hungry not because it was good. We didn't have time to find another place close by so we just ate our food and wanted to leave fast. My gf got the breakfast special, but couldn't eat the eggs and sausage because it was too greasy. They didnt take the requested 5 bucks off for that. She's not a picky eater either. We should have left though because the server didn't give us our bill when she took the plates and then dissappeared. We were there an extra 30 minutes. I don't know how this place stays in business. If the food was cheaper I would get it. But it's not good for the price it's at. Any 5 star reviews have to be lies, people that work there, or their friends. This place goes by 2 names as well. House of Breakfast and Olympic cafe. I'm not trying to be rude either, places like this is why it's hard to try new places.
Tight space, I came with my family to enjoy a breakfast and the older lady (maybe she is the owner) had a rude approach and said she could t have 4 people sit in 1 table. Didn’t welcome us to sit elsewhere. We left and won’t be coming back. Bad customer service.
I had a very disappointing experience here. I waited 55 minutes for my food, and during that time two parties who arrived after me were served before I was. And they ordered similar items. There was no explanation. If you work hard for your money and value your time, I would not recommend coming here. The service was unacceptable.
