I didnt know mango lassi was here! Ive had lassi before but this place made it better i can taste the mango more and consistency of drink is just right. I also had a combo yellow curry it was good they have a bread (unsure their name) like tortilla that went well with the curry. Lots of my buddies enjoy this location and now that ive fallen for that lassi ill definitely go back (introduced a friend and she likes it a lot too!)
5Stars. Delicious freshly prepared HOT food at REASONABLE prices. Each combination you order (except single entree) includes multiple entree dishes AND rice, yogurt, salad, spicy pickled chili, chapati! Cold yogurt lassi drink, warm masala chai, sodas are additional and delicious! Wide choice of SWEET desserts in the glass case by the pound. Incredible SELECTION of grocery items in the large GROCERY STORE deep inside past the restaurant will blow your mind. SUPPORT THIS FAMILY RUN LOCAL BUSINESS for all your grocery needs. FRESH vegetables, rare powdered herbs for food prep, shampoo, soap, instant chai tea, coffee, prepacked SWEETS, SAGE STICKS, sacred Indian ceremony supplies including colored powders, DECORATIONS for festivities, CLOTHING, regular soda drinks, canned food etc! Support this LOCAL FAMILY OWNED & RUN BUSINESS where you are treated RESPECTFULLY not like a burden.
Not only is their fresh food amazing it also has an amazing international grocery store.
Love the experience, the food, the music, groceries, herbs and the friendly staff. It's very affordable too.
We catered an event for mostly men in their 20s and every one of them mentioned how good the food was. Rarity to find a place where vegan/vegetarian food tastes this amazing.
I was looking for a specific ice cream and they were so nice to help me find it. Also answered a few questions about a few things and even gave me advice on how to use some stuff. They’re so kind and helpful here!
Didn't try the food but it smelled amazing! Their customer service was wonderful, very friendly people!! Unique products and very good quality... It was like a whole little world in there! Very cool, definitely would recommend!
I don't normally eat strictly vegetarian but this is delicious veg Indian food. I always have a combo meal and some pakora. They also have a large stock of Indian sweets, spices, incense, groceries, and other items. Nice people too. Definitely worth a visit.
Got kind of scared seeing how cheap everything was- but it's really amazing. Vast vegan selection which is unheard of for an Indian restaurant. Chapati is ultimate, and channa is the perfect level of spicy. Mango Lassi is also very good. 3 chapatis with channa, 2 Lassi and 1 Bombay chaat was only 20 dollars— in this economy!
My family came to this market to pick up some ingredients to make a family favorite....buttered chicken. Fast and friendly service with quality selections. We even returned the next day to shop for more and learned that I unknowingly dropped my credit card the day before. One of the employees actually kept the card and returned my card once he saw our last names. 5 stars alone for this amazing act of kindness. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Definitely will return!!!
This is my favorite place in LA. Like a small vacation to India, going in there. The market has an unbelievable selection, and the restaurant is the best Indian food around. There’s no meat, and some of the dishes taste a little different than people may expect from their normal Indian food restaurant experience, but that’s what’s so good about it! I can’t verify because I’m not Indian, and India is a big place, but it just seems very authentic to wherever the owners are from. And it’s delicious! And affordable!
Service is fast, place is always clean. The food is AMAZING. The mango lassi was sweet but not overly so, the curries had a great kick that I think anyone can stomach and the rice was perfect. From the bread toxthe samosas nothing was done less than spectacular. Factor in the price? Man. What an experience. My only complaint is I don't live close to this place!
Today I visited there . A girl named Gurpreet is very nice and polite .she treated us nicely .overall food was very tasty .
Authentic Indian food! Very delicious and inexpensive too! The menu is all-vegetarian and most items can be made vegan on request too. Parking is available on-site and street parking is plenty too. Don't go to this place if you're looking for ambience, but if you are craving for home made authentic Indian food, this is the place to go!
Hands down, the best place to buy spices, lentils, and gluten-free flours for making in Los Angeles. The best smoked paprika I've had. The owner is very helpful and knows every single item he has in the store. This is my spot. It is also a restaurant selling vegetarian Indian food. I have never eaten here, but it smells amazing. The Indian pastries look pretty delish, too. It's worth a try one day.
Amazing authentic Indian food/drinks. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options that are incredibly tasty. Parking lot on one side and market on the other with the restaurant in the middle. Reasonably affordable meals for budget lovers and students. Definitely recommend this treasure trove 💯
Swung by today to get my spice on. I like how both market & cafeteria women were friendly. Go here for hot plates: all vegetarian curries, rice, lunch specials. That’s not me. I came for ghee, ground cardamom. There are outside & inside tables to dine in. Go for it. I witnessed a Tinder date happening for their first meet. It’s become a cute place.
Talk about bang for your buck! This place is a trip… enormous and unique. Folks are super friendly… and I also got this parkora plate for I kid you not, $3.27. Yes in August 2024. Crazy right?! Plenty of vegan/veg options if that’s your thing.
One of the best Indian grocery and restaurants in LA. You can find everything you need for cooking. The restaurant part of this business evolved over the years, but the quality remained the same offering variety of vegeterian dishes. Their special meals are great value. If you are in for a quick snack, samosa with mango lassi or masala Chai would do the job. Used to be my weekend hang out place for shopping and eating. Unfortunately I have moved far far away and haven't been able to find a replacement 😞
No frills dine in or take away restaurant. Great dosas and combos for less than $7 and full of taste. I recommend the classic Dosa Masala dosa, or paneer dosa. And a combo of two curries (vegan available). Not only a restaurant but you will find ANYTHING in their huge grocery store, from cricket bats, to statues, incenses, shoes, HUGE pans. An experience of the senses. Great parking as well. And most importantly always served very kindly by a staff who won’t hesitate to help and reply any questions. Just a great Indian experience in Los Feliz, either you are curious of the culture, or following an Ayurvedic way of life, or missing India… this place is a blessing.
Only vegan or vegetarian food. The food in my plate was abundant. If you are a vegan or vegetarian is a wonderful place to eat, but if you are capsaicin-intolerant just try dishes that are not spicy. Because Indian food is truly hot. I can eat at the level of 8,000 units in the Scoville Scale, Indian food is in the 20,000 to 1,000,000 range. Do your research before you eat it. You don't want to have side effects, like stomach aches, the runs or tachycardia, because you are not used to it. Their lunch/dinner combo, includes a mango lassi, a salad, rice (white or yellow), 2 vegan dishes, 1 potato/peas somosa (delicious and not too hot), 1 flat bread, and a complementary yogurt sauce of your choice. You will not leave hungry. All for some $14.50. They also have a large variety of Indian desserts and sweets. The market is a shopper's dream. It is like a warehouse. They have a large variety of Indian edibles, pots and wares for their preparations, and the best incense supply I have ever seen in my life. Enjoy your time there. Be willing to spend some 2 hours or more.
So delicious and filling at such an incredible value! One of the best bang for your buck meals in LA hands down. The attached shop is well stocked and also has very reasonable prices.
India Sweets and Spices offers delicious and affordable food, making it a great option for students and anyone on a budget. The quality and taste are consistently good, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I often stop by for tea (chai) and fresh samosas, and the experience is always pleasant. Malika is especially kind and helpful. Recently, I brought my son here to try chole bhature, and he absolutely loved it—he even said, “Papa, I give it 10 stars ⭐️!”
I went in late, got fantastic food, and left with a smile on my face. Everything is delicious, vegan friendly, and the staff is delightful. I can't wait to come back 🙂
Since the 1st time my husband took me here to eat I really loved all the food he ordered. I can honestly say it's never gets old to stop by and enjoy some delicious Indian food. Combo #3 and a few more items for 2 people is more then enough. So if u live in the area or happen to be near stop by and show them some support. You won't be disappointed. Today we stopped by after not being here to eat some authentic Indian food. The food tastes the same as the first time when my husband brought me here. Stop by and give them a try.

Great shop for spices. The samosas were a bit too spicy (couldn't share them with my son). But I always come for the grocery store for spices, dal, and paneer or cooking yogurt.
Good place to pick up Indian groceries. This store carry’s most for the dry Indian foods but their fresh grocery is lacking. The folks who run this place are helpful and polite. Parking is a bit of a challenge from time to time but overall it’s a good place to pick up stuff you need. They also have a restaurant that makes Indian Chaat and is priced reasonably. Overall decent place to check out.
Best value Indian vegetarian food restaurant in the town. Their combo deal is your best bet for a full meal. Idli is soft. Medu wada is nice crispy. They also have other dry snacks and sweets.
We frequently cone here for our Indian fix. We order the combo #3 which comes with 2 curries of the day served with basmati rice, chapati, veg samosa, pickle, salad, papad, and choice of 1 shake. We also order Naan bread. They have several selections of dishes to choose from. I wish they would bring back the mango pumpkin. The dessert section is also good, they have so many options for sweets. They have a market adjacent to the restaurant which you can get hard to get ingredients, canned foods and more exported from Asia. A great option if your looking for Indian vegetarian options. There is parking in the complex as well as street parking.
I love indian food from all regions. There are a lot of good vegetarian choices offered as lunch specials as well as indian sweets here. I always feel like I've made a healthy choice that is tasty when I get to-go from this spot. Service is always fast and friendly. At times there is live music. Eclectic place in the los feliz/atwater village/glendale area. 👌😋
Great place to buy Indian spices and the food is also really good! My only concern is that the spices don't have an ingredients list on them. What's actually in the Masala premade spices, and the safety of their products, there's a lack of proper labeling and package details.

I got the south indian combo with the masala dosa and it was so bad I couldn’t finish the meal. The market was pretty abysmal and the frozen selection was so small. The store was also cluttered and not organized well
Got Dosa combo. Dosa, wada, and idlis were soft and good. However, the masala potato had an unusual smell. It seems like it's going badly, or not. Sambar was okay, but with a touch of salt, it would have been perfect. (for my palette) will try other items and update.
Good North Indian food. Tastes like your average mom's cooking. Papdi chat was not so good. Samosa, AlooParatha were great. Ambience and cleanliness need attention.
An India-focused grocery store with excellent pantry items and a budget-friendly cooked foods section. The decor is sparse, and the value is in your face, wonderful. You can find almost every spice you need for Indian Cuisine. From whole spices to packaged, portioned ground spices, the selection is excellent. The space is crowded, and it feels authentic. The hidden gem is the cooked foods counter. Spaced and set like a cafeteria, the hot foods under the sneeze guards and hot lamps keep all the foods ready to serve and eat. It is no-nonsense. The variety and selection are ample. Best of all, the value is reasonable. The small parking lot is located on the west side of the building. Otherwise, street parking is metered.

This is an Indian grocery store with a restaurant attached.. But food items are not tasty. The sweets decked up in the shop look old/stale. We visited at 9 pm or so and we were informed that dine-in is closed and food can be purchased only tas ake away(to go). We did purchase the food items but when we ate the food at our home, the food was horrible. Never buy their “bhel puri” .
I primarily visited this store for their samosas, which used to taste very similar to what you would find in India and not the overly Americanized versions most restaurants serve. Unfortunately, the samosa size has been reduced significantly. Now it barely has half a spoon of filling and is gone in just two bites. At this point, it is hard to justify the purchase when I can buy a Haldiram mini frozen samosa pack with 20 pieces for 8 to 10 dollars. The larger size, generous stuffing, and authentic spices were what people loved and what kept me coming back. Unless the samosas return to their original size, I probably will not be visiting the store again, as that was the main draw for me and usually led me to buy other items as well.

Not recommended!!!!! We ordered the dosa combo and chole batura. The potatoes in the dosa were tangy which was very unpleasant. It was not fresh. When I mentioned it to the girl at the counter, she didn’t offer any refund or even an apology. On top of that, I noticed very poor hygiene — the girl at the counter was constantly tying her hair and then serving food without washing her hands. This is unacceptable in any food establishment. Definitely not coming back.
Never going back to that rude staff, prices are cheap but it don’t matter as far fas you are reheating the package stuff , also they are not making it fresh. If you don’t like the job shut it down and go home. Also I am definitely gonna report it to health department to make sure something is fishy with those curries. Stinky and dirty place to go and waste the money.
Please do not buy anything in this store. In case even if you did please check out everything because they sell outdated products. I bought 4 bags of samosa and all had fungus in them and diary milk chocolate also had fungus. Look at kachories with black fungus.so disappointing
