I thought my mom and ex baby mama can make bomb tamales but then i found out theres actually a restaurant that can really make amazing bomb delicious tamales that melt in your mouth mmm Tamales House you ROCK 💙 Kimberlee SantaMaria the Transgender Pinup Doll, Whittier Ca/Reseda Ca
I came in here when I was working nearby almost fainting because I was dizzy, hungry and weak. They were very busy so I knew I had to probably wait a while. Cashier asked if I was ok. I said that I’m a new mom and breastfeeding so I get very dizzy when I’m hungry. Not even 5 minutes later, a worker brought me the food to my table. That was so kind of them to skip my order. You made this working mom’s day! I’m a regular now. I always order the 2 pork tamale plate with rice and beans. Delicious!
As a Mexican, I’m always skeptical about trying tamales or pozole or menudo at restaurants… These tamales were actually really good. Not dry , not greasy, a good meat to masa ratio. They were tasty. Def , Recommend.
The food at this little place is wonderful it's always busy. Jam-packed, you will never be disappointed with these tamales and other menu selections. The tamales are vegetarian Masa no lard.
My wife and I found this restaurant by accident. Their tamales are fantastic. The corn they use in the tamale is delicious to eat just by itself. My wife and I don't need any salsa or hot sauce because they are delicious without adding other flavors.
Really good tamales for the price. I ordered pork and beef and they were both amazing. I’m not sure why certain people in the reviews are complaining about the price. The portion is very generous for the price and this is socal.
I don’t know if there is an actual difference between the store on Reseda and the one on Nordhoff, but honestly I find that the flavor at the Reseda store is much better. The people at both stores seem a little unbothered by customers giving just enough attention as is required to get you your order and food. The shredded beef tamale bowl is my favorite. The stores are clean too.
A friend recommended Tamales House to me, so I decided to stop by today since I was in the area, even though it's far from Hollywood where I live. Let me tell you, it was the perfect decision. The tamales were so amazing that I had to order second round. I've never had such delicious tamales in my life. When I complimented the man, who might have been the manager or owner, he was very humble with my compliment. He also mentioned they have customers coming from Northern California, Nevada, and Oregon. I believe him because the tamales are that good! Wow! This place is a must-try!
I've been at Tamale's house several times and never left disappointed, tamales and everything else on the menu is great, fresh & made from scratch. Be aware that the service may be a little slow during breakfast hours on Saturdays and Sundays, but it is worth the wait. Seating is limited and you pay and pick up your food at the counter. Overall good food and value for your money.
First time here and wow these were great I will definitely come here every time I am near
Fantastic tamales. Really outstanding. I tried the spinach and cheese. The vegetarian. And the Chicken Mole. It's really hard to find tamales this good. I don't live close, but I'll be back.
A family friend introduced this place to my mom and she told me about it. They had an amazing assortment of tamales and what I have tried are really good. There are some tables to eat there, they seem to have quite a bit of take out orders. They also have rice and beans should you want a complete meal. I plan to spread the word about the Tamale House.
Was craving authentic tamales in the valley, I came to tamales house and tried their sweet, meat, veggies and combination menu. I have never seen a menu so unique and filled with delicious food options. I have strawberry, pineapple and cream cheese tamales which had a moist and sweet taste, I paired it with their champurrado. I was also super intrigued by their combination menu so I had their tamal breakfast which was topped with sunny side up eggs and I also had their tamal bowl which had beans, rice, ranchers sauce and crema Mexicana, this combination was something I have never seen before but I was surprised at the taste of it, if your looking for a place that serves authentic food then this place is the place to go to. I highly recommend their Torta tamal too! Everything was super good, I’ll debe coming back plus the customer service was amazing, the staff was super nice. 100% recommend! 🙌🏽🫔☕️🤩 Ohhh and they have seasonal pumpkin spice tamales too so make sure you try it out! 😋🫶🏽
First thing first there are two things you need to know before coming here. There are 6 tables so it’s not huge. This is not fast food so if you’re impatient then this is not the place for you. There are a few tamales to choose from. I went right for the jalapeño and cheese once because my grandma used to make them. I was immediately taken back to those days and so many memories of her flashes through my mind. It was delicious! The cheese had melted its way through the masa. The beef tamale was also very delicious. The strawberry raisin was very different, not for me. I also ordered a bowl menudo with pata!! I loved it!! I am a huge fan of pata and with homemade tortillas it was perfect!
BEST PLACE TO FIND MEXICAN TAMALES IN THE VALLEY. THEY ARE FULL RICH IN FLAVORY. THEY ARE NOT ANY ORDINARY TAMALES. THEY ARE MORE THAN THAT AND THE QUALITY IS THE BEST. LOVE GETTING THE NUMBER 2.
Best Tamales I have ever had! Every single one I tried was delicious. I went with my nephew, and we had the chicken, the pork, the beef, and the mole. I was obsessed with the mole and their tacos. Such a good price and you can tell that the MASA is freshly made so good. Clean restaurant and friendly service.
Tamales were very delicious. Just a little bit too much masa. Spinach and cheese great veggie choices. Champurado was yummy too.
Little hole in the wall place. Really good breakfast and tamales. Had chilaquiles and they were super delicious. Took home some tamales to eat later. One was a little dry and the other was fire. Probably way better if you eat them fresh, but probably best tamale I’ve had in a while.
Absolutely delicious! Wasn't sure at first if these tamales would be as yummy as the extra authentic ones sold from street carts, but they were definitely just as good! We couldn't find any carts in 95° weather, but we're glad we stumbled on this place. We got pork, chicken, beef, jalapenos and cheese, strawberry and cream cheese, and an horchata, which were all delicious and well-priced. I had never been a fan of sweet tamales but I think I'm a convert! The green salsa was very lime-y and wasn't spicy at all but it paired perfectly with the tamales. Would definitely come here again!
This place is really good! I always order this via DoorDash whenever I'm craving clean and flavorful Mexican food. The combos are the best because you get a little bit of everything. I haven't ate there in person yet so I don't know how the service or ambience is, but I can say the food is delicious.
Amazing, I haven't had a good tamale for a while. The spinach cheese was super delicious. It's definitely a go-to place. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
The Tamale House is a bit of a drive for me but more than worth it. I placed an order to go for Chicken, Pork and Cheese and jalapeño tamales. But when I arrived I could not resist ordering the #4 to eat on the spot. Chili Rienos , Cheese and Jalapeño Tamale with rice and beans. Words cannot describe the delicious plate in front of me. The restaurant if full of others either picking up orders or eating at the clean tables.

As a certified tamale snob, I know tamales. No one beats Nana’s red or sweet with raisin it this place is a close second. I ordered a half a dozen for an upcoming road trip and I was not disappointed. I tried to order green in addition to red but the order got mixed up and I received only reds. No problem as they were absolutely yummy. Soft moist masa with plenty of red meat. As I steamed a few days later we picked up a Las Palmas red sauce hot for on top sauce that was perfect. Even after a few days, after steaming so yummy. I also order a pineapple and strawberry that were excellent. Next time I want to try the green with rice and beans plate.
Valentine’s Day themed cakes and pastries are up and they are super cute!! Everyone go on a date at madang mall with kbbq and movies then sweet treat at Paris baguette!

They claimed to be the best tamales in sfv so I had big expectations. They weren't the BEST I've had but they were pretty close. Plus the staff was very nice and I loved that they had a lot of options. I also tried their breakfast burrito, got bacon for my protein option, and I gotta say, I loved it way more than the tamales, so if anything, I'll definitely be back for that. Really good portion and not dry like other places. Overall I was pretty satisfied. I'd give it about 4 and a half stars :)
This is a fantastic place to enjoy delicious tamales year-round with a nice variety of flavors. I really appreciate that they open early, which is a definite plus. However, I noticed that the order and food delivery process can be quite slow depending on the day and time. It seems that with only three staff members working—especially during busy weekends—the cashier has a lot on their plate, as they are responsible for taking orders and packing them. Given the popularity of this location, it might be beneficial for them to consider hiring additional staff to help streamline the process. This would improve efficiency and reduce wait times for customers, especially when parking is hard to find sometimes. During Thanksgiving, their pumpkin tamales are a highlight, and I'm glad to see they also offer Salvadorian tamales, champurrado, and a variety of other traditional Mexican dishes. Overall, the food is excellent, but enhancing the customer service experience would make this place even better. I definitely recommend this place not only for their tamales but for authentic Mexican breakfast.
This place was extremely busy but the staff was quick, friendly, and professional. The store itself was nice and clean. The tamales are nice and big. I'd say the price was ok, would be great if there was more meat in the tamale and not so much masa. Will definitely return for more on my tamale craving days!

Very clean restraunt once you walk in. Staff greets you once upon entering. I ordered the short ribs in green sauce. The taste was very good but the 11.99 charge was a little over board I guess because it comes with homemade tortillas. I would of gave it a five star but the pricing needs to be considered and be more reasonable.
We tried 3 different tamales; beef, chicken, and jalapeño & cheese. They were all flavorful and fresh but small for the price. The rice and beans were also good. It's a good place to have solid food if you’re in the area.
This place used to serve amazing tamales, as I remember. They also had amazing customer service and warm cafe de hoya. We now drive from far to come to this place, the times we've been here lately I've seen a lot of change, of course, like every place has changed but here, some changes are a bit negative for such a great place this was. I came to buy a dozen tamales today, they go from $4.50 to $5 for each tamale, they used to have a deal where if you bought them frozen/cold they would be cheaper, of course, they don't have that anymore. Customer service is okay. Some of the ladies are nice, like today, but some seem upset by just being there, which I don't understand, how are the customers at fault for that? Their customer service could get better. They used to give you enough salsa for your order of a dozen or more. Now they give you two small cups of salsa for 12 tamales and make it an issue if you ask for more. Just for context, you get 1 cup of salsa for an order of 3 tamales, you get 2 of those cups for 12 tamales. The tamales are on the bigger side, but I realized their fillings are less, and it's way more masa than whatever filling the tamale has, less meat less salsa, less cheese, etc. The inside of the place is cute but small and little seating. The tamales are flavorful, but unfortunately, that doesn't make it up to keep coming back to the same issues, especially driving from far away just because that was "our" place we used to go.
Prices are higher then competitors but food is good. You just have to ask for everything.
The Pork and chicken Mole were good the beef and chicken with salsa verde were not as good. Felt like there was more masa than there needed to be.
Saw this spot on a tiktok so I had to come try it out. Paid around $27 for 6 Tamales thats about $4.50 a tamal 😅. Im still trying to wrap my head around the price per tamal. The tamal it self is pretty big I was hoping it was filled with chicken or queso and rajas but it was heavy on masa. Tamales were steaming hot which I like and the taste wasn’t bad 7/10. But for that price, it’s not worth the drive for me. Again my personal opinion.

Tamale House is known for their tamales, and I came across them in a TikTok video someone posted. The food looked good, so I figured why not give it a try? When I got to the restaurant, I ordered a few strawberry tamales and a few chicken tamales. I'd say they're on the pricier side, with each tamale costing around $4 to $5, if I remember correctly. The woman at the register took my order, and I quietly waited for my food so I could take it home and share it with my wife. Once we got home and tried them, I was honestly surprised while the tamales were flavorful, they were mostly masa with very little filling. The masa itself had a chalky texture due to the amount they used. In my opinion, the filling whether it's sweet, chicken, beef, or pork is where most of the flavor comes from, so the small amount included was disappointing. Also, while I was placing my order, the woman packaging the tamales seemed like she was in a bad mood, almost as if I was bothering her just by being there. The ambiance of the restaurant is what you'd expect from an average Mexican eatery. They have plenty of seating and are located in a shopping center with Denny's on Reseda Blvd and Saticoy in the San Fernando Valley. To be honest, I probably won't be coming back. I wasn't impressed by the service, and I didn't enjoy the tamales. I've definitely had better elsewhere these just weren't it. Sadly, I won't be returning.
Is this restaurant Under new management? I have been coming for years. I noticed they added the "wow" to the restaurant name, however the quality of the "tamal" has changed. A lot of thick Masa hardly any food inside or salsa, that was their trade mark the salsa. These Holiday tamales are so supposed to be the best out of the whole year?! (these batches disappointed indeed) They Kept the prices nearly the same but the quality of the tamal, that this place originally become famous for is no longer there.

My plate of food wasnt hot when it was ready , heck it wasnt even warm enough. The plate itself was warmer than the food. Tamales are a bit dry and seem to be reheated in the microwave. Had the pork in red sauce tamal and the chicken in green sauce, the chicken tamal in flavor was a bit better and less dry. The sauce in the pork tamales tastes a bit like the canned enchilada sauce you buy at the grocery store, heat level , not spicy/hot at all. The flautas were much better in taste and were Hot ! Also a family of 5 who ordered after me got their food first and I was a party of 3. It was pretty dead when we first arrived. Also only one cook so I understand the wait time. They also forgot an item in our order, so had to walk up to the counter and ask for it. You get a 4% dis on your total when you pay with cash. Cashier didn't give me a receipt and total was $48.01, that was for two , #2 combos , 3 flautas ( with toppings on side ), and one strawberry and raisin sweet tamal , one large Jamaica drink, bottled crush soda. Some items advertised on their digital menu are not available. Went on a Saturday afternoon

Tamales are overhyped and overrated! Never believe “paid content creators “ on social media! They get paid to promote the place and probably don’t eat the food. Drove over an hour and the tamales were dry and more masa than meat and sauce. The strawberry and cream cheese tamale was bland. The price for the meat ones were $4 and change / sweet ones $3 and change. I understand everything is expensive today, but don’t make a big tamale that is nothing but masa, lack of flavor, and not enough filling. One more thing, don’t think you are eating a “healthy” veggies tamale. Tamales are not healthy! They are not vegetarian even if the tamale is filled with veggies! The masa is made out with lard! Huge disappointment!
Spent over 40 dollars, on chilaquiles and three tamales, and two drinks, social media hypes this places so much, food is so bland no flavor what so ever!!!! Wish I can get my money back. Wont be coming back.
Really wanted to like this place. I’m very disappointed. The wait time was like 20 plus mins even though the tamales were already made. Good thing I checked the order before leaving because it was wrong! I had 2 tamales missing. When I tried telling the employee she looked very confused and acted as if I was lying to her. They checked the boxes and yes I had 2 tamales missing. It took 3 employees touching my food for them to realize that and return it to me. Won’t be going back.
Yesterday while purchasing tamales, an individual was complaining and asking for a refund after he found a cockroach in his food. This specific customer did seem a little questionable but, regardless of his accusations or not… if he complained and asked for his money back, the restaurant should have willingly obliged. Instead, the workers sat there arguing with him and even made him speak to the manager over the phone to which I could hear the manage also debating with the customer. You see, this a major problem with Hispanic/Latino restaurants… I myself being from Ecuador, while present and seeing this customers interaction, I told the workers that, I wasn’t necessarily defending the customer but, whether or not in fact the cockroach originated from the restaurant or was brought in by the individuals, as simple as it is, if a customer complains they should receive their full refund, without having to argue for it. This is a common issue that I have witnessed in Hispanic restaurants where they may have been guilty of a wrong doing and then instead of being professional and having good customer service , they feel insulted, argue with the customer and overall make themselves look bad. I told the workers this very same thing and they also were very rude in their response to me and made me question whether or not I would continue with my order. The obvious thing here being that the customer was complaint about a cockroach in his food. But giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and trying to show good faith and support the spot, I placed an order of 6 tamales… I ate 2 tamales and noticed my stomach was churning a few hours later. Currently I write this review as I sit on the toilet having a not so pleasant experience. Sad to say, the tamales were actually not as good as they once were and now I’m questioning if I have gotten food poisoning and as to whether the establishment is sanitary. I’m not exaggerating any of this. It’s sad to see Hispanic/Latin places with good food not excellent and ruin themselves due to ignorance and poor service. The ladies at the counter were all arguing with the gentleman and denying that their establishment had roaches or was dirty. Whether this is true will have to be proven once I inform the health department and I will be asking the establishment for a full refund or calling my credit card to reverse the charge. Horrible experience and after trying to kindly tell the workers that they shouldn’t argue and refund the other customer. I will never return.
If I could put no stars I would. Had us waiting 30 minutes for tamales that were already made. Drove back 30 minutes to return the order because they had half of the items we ordered wrong. The “lead cashier” was a joke. We went here because the night before we saw all the TikTok advertising and seemed great but was an absolute joke. Don’t fall for everything you see. The only good thing if that, was we were able to receive our refund. Came this one time. Definitely will not be coming here again. Owner should have more dedication to a business.
THEY REHEAT OLD TAMALES ON THE MICROWAVES!! This place USED To be the best place to purchase fresh and hot tamales. But recently I visited the place to purchase Beef, Mole green and cheese tamales arrived at 9:12am waited patiently, waited in my car since the place was pack and eventually after waiting over 20mts and checking back and forward my order was not ready I decided to go inside and wait by the side of counter. The cashier check my order number and said: " just 5 more minutes we are waiting on the beef to come out",so I was OK. While waiting I noticed the tamales were not coming out of the pot. THEY WERE REHEATING THE TAMALES ON THE MICROWAVES!! I brought it to their attention and they got offended that I question the freshness of their product. I ask how old were the tamales that they were getting reheating on MICROWAVE and she said : "NOT THAT OLD". since I waited long time and my family were expecting tamales from their place I decided to keep them. My order was ready at 9:44am. When I got home I regret it. The tamales were cold and poor quality of it. It doesn't worth the $4.49 per reheated tamal
Tried the chilaquiles took forever just to not add sour cream 😮💨 pricey for nothing. Extremely disappointing meal.

Rude service and 1 salsa per tamal mind you the prices for the tamales keep going up and up. Monitoring how many salsas people get in a mexan restaurant is insane
