Love the side dishes and all of their jiggaes. I got the mushroom jiggae, and it was great. I’ve been going here for awhile, and the food always comes out super quickly, prices are reasonable, the side dishes have a good variety, and there always seems to be at least one table open. Or even on the rare occasion that all the tables are full, the chefs get the food out so quickly that the wait is never long.
Been there twice while we stayed in the area. Ordered beef soondubu, bulgogi combo with seafood soondubu for one day and bibimbap combo with beef soondubu and seafood soondubu for the other day. Everything was so tasty and even small dishes were all great! The service was really friendly and price was reasonable. My favorite Korean restaurant there!
Cozy spot for Korean food. They are very accommodating and everything tastes good! Options for all levels of spice tolerance. Combo meals can feed 2 for a reasonable price! I will definitely eat here again
On a busy Saturday night, they still deliver quality food and service. All the dishes come out hot and sizzling. Food is tasty and comes out fast.
Seems like it has been around forever as it was part of the blossoming of Sawtelleas a food destination. Still great Korean food on the Westside.
The tofu soup is average, not the best out there. The restaurant is kinda empty for Saturday night when we stopped by, so we were able to sit right away. You have to order the side dishes separately, which was disappointing 😞

Came here today June 15,2025. The person wearing white apron is very nice to explain the menu and good service. Of all the 3 restaurant (HIDE, Big boi, Tofu ya) I went to. Tofu ya have the most decent amount of food for their price. Variety of side dishes. I’m glad I found this place. Will definitely come back.
The Baseline: For Korean bibimbop/soup restaurants the soup base must be quality, the quality of the meat/rice of the bibimbop, and the accompanying sides. Food: I like the soup at Togo Ya, I had the Kimchi beef soup and it had a good amount of beef/tofu. The ingredients are quality and the accompanying fish cake, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, etc. were great with the main. Service: Good solid service and my water glass was kept filled. Atmosphere: No muss, no fuss type of restaurant experience. Plenty of seating and there is an outside patio.
Option for a Quick meal. Not the best Korean dishes I’ve had but it’s decent. This restaurant serves all sorts of Tofu soup. And you can customize the spicy level. 1x is pretty spicy already. I like their cold noodle. It’s pretty authentic and brings a refreshing touch. Perfect for summertime. Side dishes are tasty and big portion. They also have specials combo you can mix and match bbq meat+main course.
Food was pretty pricey, but portions were large and there's a great variety of sides offered. Service was fine, no complaints there. This is in an area where some restaurants have lines around the corner, this place is relatively low key and just as good.
Although the restaurant could be a little bit more tidier, the Korean bbq, tofu soup, and ramen were delicious and the staff was nice. The ramen broth was very savory. I ordered the tofu soup second to highest spice level and I should have maxed it out. I eat pretty spicy. There is a locked bathroom around the back of the restaurant, and you need to request for the key. Love the Sawtelle area!
I'm not a fan of such dishes. But I think those who are would like this.
I loved their tofu soup! I had a combo of denjang and bulgogi. The denjang soup with medium spice wasn’t too spicy. The bulgogi was sizzling and was well seasoned! Each comes with rice so I was very full after eating the combo. We also got a seafood pancake wish was yummy as well. We had a bibimbap, dolsot bibimbap, and pork katsu all as combos. The bath room is outside in the back of the building and you need a key to use. It was surprisingly clean! They’re definitely understaffed but trying their best.
It's a good spot on sawtelle Ave, not too busy when other places are packed. The prices are very fair and the portions were sizable enough. I do not recommend the tofu soup with crab that my friend ordered. The crab was very small and difficult to get any meat out of it. The bibimbop combo was very good, I'd order that again.
Generous portion of side dishes, ordered their stonepot bibimbap which is fresh and nice and gochujang sauce is on the side so u can control the saltiness. Definitely would come again and I feel like it can be my go to lunch place if I live nearby
Wow, it's unacceptable how I chose to ignore this Korean tofu place for years just because they are not BCD Tofu. Well, I decided to go last night and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made as a result of other restaurants closing too soon. 👍🏼😋 We ordered 2 tofu dishes and 1 galbi (beef BBQ), one with pork and one with seafood, with spicy levels of "medium" and "spicy" respectively. Personally, if you can stand medium level 🔥🥵 in BCD then you should go with "spicy" here to enjoy your tofu. Anyhow, their seasonings were top-notch , not too salty but not tasteless either. Meat were plentiful as well. If you don't know what drinks to get, I'd recommend trying their (hot) barley tea. So I would recommend this place to those who loves authentic Korean 🇰🇷 dish or want to try it out, it will not disappoint you!
I came here when I wasn’t that hungry so this probably affected my experience but I had the naengmyeon and it was alright. Definitely would come again to eat the signature (and my favorite Korean) dish, sundubu.

This is my second time trying this place and both times have been a disappointment. I’ll start with today. I ordered the spicy cold noodles although the taste was fairly good there was no meat (not even a sliver), it wasn’t cold (it’s supposed to have ice), no ban chan (not even one), no vinegar (to add as preference). All I got was this bowl and chopsticks. There was only one server and three tables occupied but service was very slow. The first time was a couple months ago when I ordered tofu soup over the phone and realized I placed the order at the wrong place. I went to Seoul Tofu to pick up my food then realized my mistake. Came here and the server wasn’t very nice. Took my food home and it had an odd aftertaste. I still can’t figure out what it was but I ate my meal and decided to not try that again here.
The stew was quite plain, not spicy at all. The toppings weren’t various at all. The rice bowl was quite cool which wasn’t expected.

I’m only giving 2 stars. Because previously ordered and was satisfied.unfortunately came here on a rainy day and was saddened to see how understaffed the place was. Only 3 people working and only one as a waitress/host . Ordered food to be ready at 1230 I arrive at 1235 and waited till 1250 as I seen my order out and cooling off my soup . I was ready to take food but the one person working didn’t want to help me because of the tables at the place. Very sad . Also I ordered 2 sets of sides but received one messy portion of half the sides . This latest is a definite 1 star experience :(

Unfortunately my friends and I had to leave early. Such a bad experience. First, they wanted to charge money for side dishes depending on your entree that are generally free at every Korean restaurant no matter what you ordered as an entree! Not even kimchi was free for what we ordered!! Very weird but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt before I assumed. About a quarter of all the leaves in my salad were moldy and the dressing was bad too. The spicy 비빔냉면 dish was done all wrong. They seemed to confuse it with 물냉면 because it was really watered down and the bowl was filled to the brim with this sauce water. It was clearly plated with no care whatsoever. Texture was done very bad. Highly advise management to go over this dish again. Wishing anyone else who visits a better experience!
