Good food great service first time there. Will definately go back

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is fabulous and it is a family-owned place.

Food was fresh and the girls working the cash register were pretty ....hahahah

Delicious! Family owned and ran! Weve been coming here for 16 years! Blows panda express out of the water! Definitely gotta try the potstickers!

It was last minute left with a $70 bill & the garlic beef mushroom didn't taste as expected. But customer service was great & place was clean.

The duck was very good. The special fun meal was delicious. The waitress and staff were kind and helpful.

I have eaten there for the last twenty five years and have always found the food real good,and the service outstanding.I would recommend this restauraunt to anybody wanting Chinese food.

I love this place but I hate how it doesn't have delivery or isn't signed up with doordash. I work graveyard and it would be awesome if I could get just order in.

I'm from the Bay Area and I take my Chinese food very seriously LOL and I are the two Chinese places in Los Banos which are the Teriyaki House and China Garden of course I will always pick China Garden they have better Chinese food Lynn Teriyaki House I would definitely recommend anybody to try their food everything that I ever ate from them was delicious

I love their chicken salad. Completely in love. But I agree with a lot of these reviews, the restaurant could use an update. & maybe some light music?

Nice people. Good food. Fast service. Craving an egg roll but they only sell in orders of 5. So I couldn’t eat five egg rolls so I had to chose something else or it would be a 5-star for me. I chose 4 and half star if it’s possible. With how good food is. Nice they were. I can’t do a four. God Bless

I had the chicken and garlic and I asked the waitress if the cook could bread my chicken and make it crispy and they did it was delicious the garlic sauce was delicious the whole plate was delicious and I'm from Sacramento and I cannot find good Chinese food in Sacramento

China Garden is definitely my go-to Chinese place when in Los Banos. The staff are always very friendly and the food is almost always served at an efficient pace. The food itself, is always flavorful, cooked just right, and the portions are definitely generous enough. I always like to order my chow mein in a very specific way and they always accommodate it with no questions asked. The atmosphere is pretty simple, clean and usually quiet during the weekdays, but don't be surprised to see the place busy during dinner time. Their lunch and dinner specials are also always affordable for a college student like me.

The Service was fast and food was hot and delicious!! We had ordered from lunch special menu and each got the Spicy Garlic Chicken. Yum!!! And of course an oirder of Potstickers to share.

My husband and I like to take the kids out to eat at this restaurant every now and then. Mostly we order take out from this restaurant and eat at home. It nice to get out and eat here.

I can honestly say I've been coming back to this restaurant for all 24 years of my life. Nobody's Chinese cuisine compairs to that home town spot. I recommend a dinner/ lunch #21 available in Orange Chicken, General tso & I believe Sweet&Sour. "Ask to be sure"

I love this place been going since I was a kid with my parents and sisters I have such amazing memories here it never disappoints me now I take my kids and husband there I wouldn't recommend it to be remodeld it will take away many memories I'm sure others have as well I see no reason it needs to be remodeld I've gone to places were they try to imitate their chicken salad and no success i drive from Merced just to eat here!!!😋

We always have a pretty good experience at China Garden. The restaurant may feel a little old and the service isn’t always 5⭐️, but the food is always very delicious! My new favorite is the Crab Cream Cheese Rangoons. This visit, we shared some Sweet and Sour Chicken along with the Rangoons. I recommend a visit if you want some delicious food!

And 5 🌟stars for friendly knowledgeable Elaine 🎉👏 So I walked into this restaurant for the 1st time, and our waitress, Carmen, immediately made the experience stressful and unfriendly. 🙄 Before my husband and I even sat down at the table, this waitress shrieked at us and demand we give her our drink selection, Twice before we sat down ! So she was asking what we wanted to drink—without giving us a chance to look at the menu. When we tried to order drinks that weren’t available, she finally provided the list of available drinks, but then took the menu away before we could even look at food selection. Realizing she took away the menus, She had to give it back, saying we might need more time to decide. How can I decide something when I did not even look at the menu ??! Her whole attitude and unprofessionalism were so bad, I almost wanted to walk out right away from the restaurant. Customer service from Carmen is very poor, and I would not recommend her at all as a waitress. I’ve noticed She even rushed other customers, even though the restaurant was not busy—our table was the third in the restaurant when we came. I had to ask other waitress to serve us. Thankfully, Elaine took over and made our experience enjoyable and satisfactory. She was very attentive, brought hot food promptly, refilled drinks on time, offered helpful suggestions for main course with details, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and even sauces that comes with the dish. Elaine provided excellent service and friendly vibe. If you go to this restaurant, ask for Elaine, you won’t regret.

China garden is one of the most authentic Chinese food in Los Baños. The food taste amazing. Their egg rolls and soup if you get a dinner combo are made to perfection. If you are in the area and have a Chinese food craving, go there, you'll not regret it. As of March 2025, They still offer a decent amount of food that you can eat in 2 servings for a decent price.

Very good wonton soup(wontons,BBQ pork,shrimp,chicken) I usually order in advance on my lunch. Both times have been delicious. The BBQ pork fried rice is also very good! I haven't had their Chinese food in a while but I'll be trying again very soon.

Have been going to China Garden for 16 years and love it. The dinner 21 is a classic and their pot stickers are so good. The hot and sour soup was great before. I just had it again after a long time and it was not good at all this time. Otherwise they are a must try.

The food here is delicious and the staff is always friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you enjoy Chinese food, the only complaint i have are the booths. They feel uncomfortable and feel like they rock. Other than that this place is great.

Good place. Paid around $12:00 for a meal with fried rice, pan seared chow mein, fried shrimp and almond chicken. Very good but the flavor on the almond chicken was a little bland. Nothing the chili sauce couldn't fix though. Still good.

Knocked off two stars because whoever took my order over the phone didnt get my name right even after I spelled it. I'm not Carlene or Amlie. I'm Emily. Also, not a Shirley. I get that mistakes happen and I'm still coming here because my family and I love the food. But definitely don't comment "She said SHIRLEY on the phone!" To your coworker as you walk away from me. Unlike whoever took my order, I can hear just fine, and I found that to be WAY rude. Just dont say anything at all next time. That simple.

Great won ton soup. As everyone knows we don't have a lot of choices for Chinese food in Los Banos. With that said this place is as good as good as you'll get. Food is fair, egg rolls are delicious, chicken fried rice is good. The won ton soup is super great. On a cold day this will fill your belly and warm you up.

Today the food wasn't good it was mushy the only fresh thing we received was the fried chicken wings those were good but the rest meh...but our server was nice and did a great job.

my chowfun was chop suey (which I hate), seems they didn't know the difference the only thing that was very very good was the calamari app.

Japanese teriyaki chicken over rice was unflavored and bad texture on the rice

I actually want to give this place not even half a star. One of the waitresses was rude and had a real bad attitude. Made an order for chicken and mushroom chop suey but of course they had no mushrooms. NO FORTUNE COOKIES! What kind of Chinese food place not have fortune cookies?

The only thing that was somewhat worth it was the chicken salad. Their Mongolian beef, chicken fried rice, broccoli and beef, and egg roles were very underwhelming and was not worth the price.

She didn't listen right or something cuz we still got 2 chow main orders wrong, after she repeated the order back to us...😶And soggy/gooey General Tso chicken, soggy/gooey orange chicken. Rather go to to Panda Express next time

Went in ordered to go, had one other customer waiting for a to go order. Also there were a few dinning in. Ordered and paid was told 15 minutes. Waited 30 minutes or longer! No further contact past the initial. No sorry for the wait. People came in afterwards and we're seated and served ahead of myself. Terrible customer service! Especially when there's obvious preferential treatment of customers!

Ordered Shrimp Chow main that was only five pieces of shrimp and the rest was noodles. Chow main usually has vegetables with water chestnut, celery, onion and cabbage. This place has no clue what Chow main is. The pot stickers were super greasy and smelled like they were cooked in old nasty oil. Will not order from here again.

I got there at 3:50pm and got a table and menu I was ready to order but there was nobody there to take my order but noticed that other cotemers comingg in and being served but not me it was now 4:10pm and I have been served not even a glass of water if was not for two ladies setting next to me who went to ask if I was going to be served or not it was 4:15 and I ready to go I didn't get nothing no service and glass of water they totally forgot about me so I don't recommend this place to nobody and will let all friends and family not to go there bad place to go

As far as food the sizzling rice soup was overly saturated with mushrooms and no flavor on top of that they give small bags of rice that are not nearly enough for the soup. I asked for a larger portion I'll pay for and was instantly met with attitude by young lady I was refuse to go back as long as she is working that establishment.... she is a young lady with a disgusting attitude. I hope you all make a change immediately. Thank you

She got annoyed and ran it as credit and said it doesn’t work. We said run it as debit but she didn’t want to look more dumb than she already is so she ran it as credit again so she could say it didn’t read the card. So annoying!

To be honest the food tasted all the same it seems like the mix everything together and it just tastes bland, the rice was over cooked, no greens whatsoever the only good thing was their chicken salad. $80 not good sorry, but would not recommend.
